Oh, Elinor is at it again. Though this time, she is on vacation and enjoying the culinary treats, she somehow finds herself mixed in trouble again. I love this series because Elinor can take care of herself but the good Duc d’Archambeau is there to assist her. Elinor’s ghost talking skills are called into use when someone is attacked again. I loved the story in this book of the series. The writing flows so well. The characters are well=written and just fit into the story. Elinor is so strong that it’s great to watch a strong female protagonist in a story during a time period where that is not common. I also find that her relationship developing with Duc d’Archambeau is quite entertaining. This is a very good read and another wonderful book in The Ghost Talker Series. You should definitely get out there and read it.

Wow that is not at all what I was expecting but man what a ride. This author knocked it out of the park with this Contemporary Romance. It may be a short story but it’s packed with emotions, drama, heartbreak and so much more. I’ve become a fan of this author and her Paranormal stories and I love how her stories flow and always makes you feel as if you are right there with them. This is a story about Augustine and Dorian. These two meet because of an accident in which Dorian feels guilty that it happened. What they didn’t know was they would be torn apart and broken hearted. Three years later their wives introduce their husbands to one another but they already know each other. What does fate have in store for these two? I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I can’t wait to read more from this Author.

Ms. McNamee is one of my all-time favourite authors, her books providing numerous hours of avid reading. I don’t even have to read the blurb or know anything about her book/s, as they are on my automatic one-click, no questions asked list because I know I won’t ever be disappointed. This series is where my stalking, ummmm, I mean my appreciation of Ms. McNamee’s work began. Savage Collision completely blew me away and started my addiction. Savage Collision (Book #1) 5 Stars Savage Collision is the first book in the Hawke Family Novels and an exceptional debut novel by Gwyn McNamee. This is an intoxicatingly steamy romance, with a good dose of suspense, mystery, danger and intrigue. This book has so much going on with-in it, I am finding it almost impossible to do the book justice, without giving away any spoilers. But here goes….. Danika Eriksson (Dani) is an Investigative Reporter who is extremely passionate and driven- and nothing gets in the way of a good story, her career is her life. Discovering her younger sister is stripping in a Club, Dani is so incensed that she goes to the club to confront the sleazebag owner. Savage Hawke owns several restaurants and the Hawkeye Club, an upscale and classy Gentleman’s Club prides himself on his strong work ethic, impeccable reputation and professionalism. So, when this captivating beauty storms through his door with her ‘take-no-prisoners’ attitude, he entirely intrigued. His body responds to her in such a powerful way, he’s never experienced before, ever! Savage has huge secrets and some major unresolved issues from his traumatic past that impact on his ability to commit to anyone. Dani has her own secrets that threaten to destroy everything she has worked so hard to create. This book is amazing, with the plot twisting and turning so effectively, I was firmly held in the story’s grip- completely hooked from the very first page. I couldn’t put it down, totally immersed in the story, page-after-page. This book is an experience of sensory overload- it had me yelling at my kindle; things like “No!” “No-way!” and “O.M.G!”, repeatedly… Then there were points where I caught myself reading with a big goofy grin on my face. On other occasions my tears were streaming so fast, I couldn’t see. Then there was the electrifyingly HOT bedroom (office, Lounge, car…) action that set my Kindle (and Panties) on fire and had me chewing my lip. Phew!!!! Gwyn McNamee has found her place firmly on my favourite author list, with this outstanding and truly enjoyable novel. I will be waiting expectantly for her next offering!!!
Tortured Skye (Book #2) 5 Stars Tortured Skye is the second book in the Hawke Family Novels Series by the supremely talented Gwyn McNamee. It is a very spicy and erotic contemporary romance that will tantalize you from the very first page and hold you enthralled right till the end. Skye Hawke comes across as snarky, sassy, hot-headed, independent and a little on the stubborn side- but most of that is a façade she puts up to hide her pain and vulnerability. You see, Skye has endured a heartache that most people could never fathom and more often than not it takes all her energy to just get through each day. She harbours a lot of guilt for what transpired and living with this regret is slowly devouring her soul, piece by piece. She was attending a special family function where everyone was so joyous in their celebration- which only serves to remind Skye of everything she had lost, and completely adrift in her personal sea of pain, desperate to tether herself before she is completely swept away. Then in walks the man she’s felt a powerful connection to for so long now. The man she has had a crush on since she was a teenager. She clings to him, and they share a passionate kiss…..but then he just walks away, leaving her suffering the sting of rejection. She has avoided him ever since, but how long can that last. After all he is her brother’s best friend and an honorary member of their family. Gabe Anderson has his own demons that haunt his days and torture his nights. This has led him to ‘self-medicate’ on a prescription of alcohol and sex. He doesn’t do commitment, just a lot of hooking-up. He has always been closer to the Hawke’s, than his own family and values his friendship with Savage. Gabe has always felt a strong bond between himself and Skye- and appreciated that she had grown into a beautiful woman but had never really thought about it- until that kiss. Now he can’t get her out of his mind and the memory of it is consuming him. He feels that he would be risking everything- completely jeopardizing his relationship with Savage, as well as his job and his heart – if he were to get involved with Skye. He also feels that because of his demons, he isn’t worthy of her. But now that he’s had a taste, he doesn’t know if he’ll be able to resist her. With other factors at play in this story, as well- Ms. McNamee masterfully wove a story that absorbed me to a point where reality ceased to exist. I would love to tell you more, but I wouldn’t want to spoil it for you- so please do yourself a favour and discover the wonderful world of the Hawkes for yourself- you really won’t be disappointed. Even though we met Skye in the first book, we didn’t really get to know her very well. I had decided that I didn’t really like her very much- but since getting to understand her more from this story, I really have come to appreciate her and think that she and Gabe really are a perfect match. I loved Gabe from the moment he is introduced in the first book, he intrigued me, and I wanted to know more about him. This book gave me all the answers I was looking for, plus some. Ms. McNamee has a real talent for writing with emotion and the ability to connect her readers to the story and characters. I felt for Skye and Gabe and everything they’d been through- and I was with them every step of the way as this story transpires….. There’s so much emotion that at times Ms. McNamee had me free-falling through the spectrum of feelings, like a base jumper chasing an adrenalin high. Wow, what a ride! One thing Ms. McNamee seems to be able to do better than most, is a raunchy, spine tingling, knee tremblingly HOT sex scene- and this story sure doesn’t disappoint. You have been warned, spare panties will be required!
Stone Sober (Book #3)
5 Stars Stone Sober is the highly anticipated third book in the Hawke Family series by author extraordinaire, Gwyn McNamee. I really am at a loss for words to do this story the justice it deserves and relay just how fantastic this story is. I almost inhaled this book; I was so engrossed in the story. I laughed, I cried, and I cursed Ms. McNamee (sorry, but I was in a heightened state of anxiety from what I was reading)- I swear my heart stopped on several occasions and I spent a good portion of the time picking my jaw up off the ground- I was trying to anticipate what was going to happen, but Ms. McNamee deftly maneuvered the plot in such a way as to make the story quite unpredictable. I am not going to rehash the plot to you, Ms. McNamee does a far better job of that in the blurb- but I will tell you how her story made me feel and how much I love it, and the whole series so far. I don’t know how she does it, but each new book slightly eclipses the last- every story is a credit to her and the series as a whole. There are very few series that I have read and can honestly say that EVERY single instalment deserves more than the maximum five stars I am allowed to allocate them. If I could award more stars, I would- that’s how much I love this book/series! I fell in love with Savage in book one, then had my heart stolen by Gabe in book two- then this book comes along, and Stone branded himself so deeply into my heart- so I can’t/won’t choose between them all- at this point I am more than happy to be labelled a Hawke Family groupie. Dani, Skye and now Nora, are such worthy leading ladies- well matched to their men, and impressive in their own right. I loved Stone’s bad boy, dirty talking, and dark(ish) sexual tastes- it certainly made for some volcanically HOT reading- I recommend placing several pairs of panties in the freezer before reading this book, because you will definitely need to cool down(under) while reading this. As this book is part of a series, I suggest reading all the books in the correct order, because there is background information/backstories found in the other books that come to a head in this story- so having all that information will add to your reading pleasure.
I highly recommend this series- but be warned, it is entirely addictive, so find a comfy spot, and settle in, because you won’t want to put it down for even a second. And luckily, Ms. McNamee has plenty of other enticing books available to feed your new obsession/addiction. Happy Reading!

Skye has had a hard life, many twists and turns that have led her to be a grumpy woman who lashes out at her loved ones. Gabe is the same emotional state as Skye, but has many other reasons to be in that position. They come to realize they understand each other on a level nobody else does. They have to decide if what they think they have is worth upsetting their family, and fighting the odds against everything they come up against together. Read this book, it has psychiatrists, dead family members, and betrayal and love at its finest.
Wow. Very unique, very enticing. Savage has his own secret that he doesn’t tell Danika until she is rather invested in their connection. Danika ends up having her own problems come full circle, and get her into a lot of trouble. Even though they meet under upsetting circumstances, they have a connection neither one could deny, no matter how hard either one of them try. Read this book. It is full of friendship, love, attraction, and amazingly descriptive hot scenes.
Such a great series! The Hawke family has all kinds of issues that will draw you in and keep you hooked! The Hawke’s value family more than anything in the world. They would do anything for each other, and that is usually what gets them into trouble. On top of the fact that they all draw danger like there’s no tomorrow. Read this series! It is fun, exciting, crazy, and a blast to follow. You won’t want to put them down.
First time reader of Author Janice Pratt, and not gonna be the last. I think this book was a cute short, easy story to read with your family. I really liked how it shows you how at the end she shows you how to create your own book box. We have multiple in the area I live in. I love them. We stop like once a week to swap out our books for new ones. They also have different books on culture and languages which I also like.

This is a nice story that shows young ones that they can make a difference in the world. Amaleigha is a strong girl who wants to help those that need it. When she realizes the lack of books for the students and their families that speak other languages at her school and neighborhood Amaleigha decides to do something about it. It was nice to see a book about a someone so young doing something for their neighborhood, giving children someone that they can relate to and showing that they can make a difference as well no matter what their age. I liked seeing the multiple languages in the book as well as the instructions in the back on how to do this in your own neighborhood.

This is hard to put down book is a must-read. It follows the story of Beckett and Paige. Beckett is a pro hockey player that is known more for his exploits off the ice than on the ice. While Paige is a hard-working woman that has started her own business.

That’s not how this story starts but it’s how the fun part begins. Paige works hard for all her money and tries to make time for her globe-trouting husband. While Beckett loves all the ladies. I read this series as a complete collection and I’m glad I had that option because I just went from one book right into the next! The way McNamee not only builds the plot lines but her characters and how they intertwine is just fantastic. I also love how we are introduced to characters in other characters books. I really like seeing characters pop in and out of other books. I will be reviewing each book individually. Savage Collision – Savage and Dani’s story is full of suspense and spice. They are both hard-headed and stubborn but learn to accept each other for who they are. This first book was action packed and full of twists, turns, and surprises. Great start to the series and I couldn’t wait to start the next. Tortured Skye – Forbidden romance anyone? While I did find Skye a little annoying in the first book, McNamee definitely developed her character in this book. We get to see behind the curtain with Skye and Gabe and I really ended up rooting for them in the end. Again, there is suspense and spice in just the right amount. Stone Sober – McNamee took the spice level and upped in for this book! You will need a cool drink of water after this one! I love the opposition of Nora and Stone and just how well that works for them. The twists, turns, suspense, and spice of this one has made it my favorite so far. Building Storm – Storm and Landon’s story is more swoony than I typically gravitate toward but it was still a good story. There is suspense and everything you’ve come to expect from a McNamee story, but this one is just a little more tame. I suspect it’s to let her readers put themselves back together from her previous book 😉 This story will hit you a little more in the feels than some of McNamee’s others. Tainted Saint – This is a shorter novella in the series. It focuses on Caroline and Saint and all of the twists and turns their story has taken. The spice is definitely there; however, the usual depth McNamee goes to isn’t. But with this being a novella and not focusing on an actual Hawke family member, it’s to be expected. Great short read. Steele Resolve – THE FINAL ONE! I cannot believe the series is over! I have loved every one of the books in this series and the final book did not disappoint! I was a little apprehensive with it being a M/M simply because that’s not what I usually read but I was invested in the series and I wanted to finish it and I’m glad I did! Luca and Byron’s story was the perfect ending to this series and McNamee did a fantastic job weaving their stories together. I absolutely recommend this series!
Revenge Never Rests is the 2nd book in the Tallie Brown series. It picks up shortly after the first book finished, which I was happy for. Tallie had a bomb of information dropped on her in the end of the first book, and she is still sorting it all out. There is a bit of struggle, as she tries to compartmentalize her life. The book had a good recap of the information from book one, although not the full story… enough as a refresher. Likely couldn’t be enjoyed without reading the first book. This book was much more clear, and written better than the first. I really like the characters of these series and the author did a good job of representing Tallie’s (and sometimes Jackson’s) feelings. There is so much suspense in this book, and it is action packed. I like that Tallie continued to refer back to her childhood teachings, despite the new heartbreak and inner struggle she is weighing. This book kept me on the edge of my seat. I look forward to more from the author.

Secrets Never Die is the first book in the Tallie Brown series. The book is pretty complex and has a complicated storyline. In the beginning I was really confused, and struggled to follow the story. The characters don’t seem to be related, and made it hard to understand what was going on. However, stick it out… it comes together, and all makes sense in the end. Still, a very complex story, but it was really good. I didn’t really like how Jackson’s story was revealed… the whole book, it seemed like we were missing details from a previous story. There was a lot of references to a previous event without much back story. Tallie is a really amazing girl, with so many skills and a tough life. I felt bad for her but also was very impressed by her. I hope the 2nd book continues the relationships that were developed in the end of this book. First read by this author, but I will be reading more.

I read Where Do Pirates Go on Vacation with my 6 year old son. He liked the book and that it rhymed. He liked the pictures and said they were very creative. They are so bright and colorful, with a wide variety of pirates drawn, so everyone can feel represented. My son thought it was cool they drew one of the pirates in a wheel chair. I think the last page should have been a statement rather than a question… but overall it was a cute book.

Super cute children’s book with stunning illustrations! I have never really thought about where pirates go on vacation! The author did a great job with the rhymes and keeping the book simple and to the point. There’s plenty of room for the imagination to roam! Great job on a super cute, wonderfully illustrated book!!

What an entertaining and steamy series! This really is a complete collection you will not want to put down!
This series follows a different member of the Hawke family (and close circle) in each installment and each story builds on the last. The author does an amazing job developing the characters through each storyline, so the reader feels like they know them and builds a connection to each character and the family as a whole!
Each story is unique and has a suspenseful, action-packed flavor so it keeps the reader turning the page—not to mention the steam factor! The stories intertwine, which I love in a series as opposed to series with many standalones and little crossover.
The author weaves a wonderful collection that will leave you wanting more! I read this in a matter of several days and loved it, I hope you will too!

This whole collection the whole series is absolutely mind blowing. Each book followed the previous one well. Each couple in each series had a very good story. Kept me on my toes and surprised me more than I like to admit.
Ginny is returning home from New York to take care of her father after he has surgery. She’s not looking to do anything outside of taking care of him during the Christmas holiday. This includes no time for her ex-husband, Max. That gets a little hard when he becomes her planning partner for the Christmas Jubilee.
Max has spent the last two years missing the woman who got away and broke his heart. He’s done everything he can to put his heart into the diner that may have played a part in their split in order to forget her, but when Ginny comes back home, it’s hard to put all the focus where it belongs. Now he’ll use any excuse he can to spend time with her.
Max can tell she’s starting to warm up to the idea of staying in town. He’s only got to convince her that he’s worth another shot.
Falling Home was a sweet story about love lost and finding love again. I don’t normally go for second chance romance when it involves marriage ending, but I thought I’d take a shot and I’m glad I did.
Ginny is stubborn, determined, and loves her father with every bit of herself. She’s willing to sacrifice so much in order to do what is best for her family. Max is also stubborn and determined to find a way to get back the woman he loves. The only mistake they both made was not communicating when it felt like things were falling apart.
This is a sweet romance that makes a great holiday read. But with a main character whose constantly cooking, you’re bound to get hungry.

I listened to this on audiobook and the narrators voice is fantastic. This was really good. I thought Joker was a storm waiting to have some bright light. His past is haunting and I appreciated the way the story unfolded. Lady is a wonderful character who sees behind the rough exterior Joker poses. Very entertaining.
