The Sneaky Kitten by Lois Wickstrom was a cute book. I found myself a little confused as I followed the story, however, the illustrations helped to get an idea of where the storyline was heading. Caspian and his grandfather use some “secret” magic powers “hot chocolate socks?” to attempt to help a kitten stuck in the tree. I was confused when they named the kitten “Stuck” and then talked about the kitten being “stuck.” Had to reread that portion twice. Eventually they realize that “Stuck” is not actually “stuck” (see what I mean) and they get a nice little surprise in the end when “Stuck” races away on a frisbee spaceship thingamajig. It’s a cute concept but definitely leaves one scratching their head after the first read. It gets easier the more you read it though.
