Operation Blackbird (Brass Compass Series Book 2) by Ellen Butler – Review by Diane Sennett

Operation BlackbirdOperation Blackbird by Ellen Butler
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Operation Blackbird is a companion novel to The Brass Compass; however, I did not realize this before reading. I will say, that I loved this book. Ellen Butler had me hooked right away and I was taken into the Cold War,1952. Miriam goes undercover to extract a Russian scientist, his wife and daughter from East Berlin, with a team led by her colleague and childhood friend, Jacob Devlin.
When things go awry, Miriam has to trust other contacts to get the family to safety. This novel is full of dangerous situations and suspense. I loved the twists and turns throughout the book and the end surprised me. This is definitely worth the read.
