This was my first ready by Morgan Bevan but I will be reading more for sure! This story is told by each of their POVs, which helped to give the full picture. Finn and Abi come from very different backgrounds. They find each other on reality tv and are married on the first meeting. I love that this story starts with marriage and then we watch them work through their differences.
Highly recommend giving this a read if you like rom cons.

Intriguing idea. The story is fast paced and you are pulled in with what is happening. Ending is not what I expected which is a nice twist to the story.

This book was very different in the best way possible! I loved the story and how it really brought out Celtic history and made for a very interesting journey. It was an amazing read and a real page turner that I could not put down! This story was a unique fantasy plot I have not seen in other fantasy books before. It is a very unique story and I would highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys fantasy!

A gripping medical romance suspense story which had me hooked from page one. Selma has devoted most of her professional life to the US Army, even leaving the man she’s always loved, Hunter behind. However, Selma can’t stay with Hunter as she’s volunteered with Doctor’s Abroad at an African refugee camp. Selma leaves with a secret, but having run from Hunter, she must deal with a deadly outbreak that is claiming the lives of refugees and volunteers. As the number of fatalities grow Hunter and the Chase Medical team are tasked with saving Selma and those in the camp. If Hunter and Selma survive the virus they might find their happily ever after together. This is a gripping story full of drama, tragedy, suspense and of course romance. The setting is brought vividly to life by the descriptive narrative and the characters are likeable and relatable. The chemistry between Selma and Hunter sizzle off the page, and I liked how their relationship developed throughout the storyline. An emotional rollercoaster of a read, but one which I definitely recommend.

This is an enjoyable and engaging novella, in which Jessa Caldwell is a gently-bred herbalist, who is trying to be a lady whilst concealing her true nature. Jessa spends her days with her plants doing sketches, but only she knows that she hears whispers. When her beloved aunt is threatened, Jessa travels to a town which is dangerously close to an Otherworldly Crossing, where there is an ever-present risk of fae incursions. In order for her aunt to be protected, Jessa must find the individual who is responsible for a series of dangerous attacks. However, it means embracing the part of herself that she keeps hidden out of fear of her true nature being exposed. Jessa lives in a world where Vigilists lock up fae-touched mortals, but if she’s to discover the truth and protect her love ones she will have to take that risk. This short read is a prequel to a new series, and it sets up the storyline and characters well. I enjoyed the mystery element which kept me hooked, and the setting was brought to life by the descriptive narrative. Jessa is a great heroine and I look forward to reading about more of her adventures.

My Pearl Heart by J.N. Sheats. This is such a good romance. Its the story of Jasmine who is the co owner of a planning company along with her best friend. James Conner is the son of the family of one of Jasmine’s events and when they share a hot kiss is confused. James Conner’s family is the closest thing to royalty that we have so when their son ends up being a drunken loser it hits hard. James has decided he is going to clean up his act and get married. With a plan in place Jasmine is blindsided when James announces his engagement to her best friend. Jasmine has to be around James constantly during the wedding planning and she doesn’t know how much more she can take. James thought this plan was well put together until he realizes he can’t get Jasmine out of his mind. Will they go thru with the wedding or will James and Jasmine get their happy ending?

Elinor Chalamet and Tristan Fontaine, the Duke de Archambeaux return, but this time, they are both guests of the King at the Winter Revels, a culinary competition to find the best chef, Elinor is happy to know that a friend of hers is one of the chefs competing, so when she receives an invite, she is ecstatic, so she takes her friend along with her for company. While traveling, she encounters a young lady in need of aid, so she does what she does best and helps a person in distress, even though as usual, it puts her at odds with people and ruffles some feathers all at the same time.
When she arrives at the charming town of Vouvant, she can see how the Winter Revels are welcomed by the establishments where they sell their wares to the tourists and holiday maker with abandon, but she runs into the same young lady and comes to the rescue again, however, the outcome is more positive for her, than the last one. After the first welcome meal and the opportunity to meet the chefs and sample some of the upcoming victuals, she runs into the Duke de Archambeaux, as well as spotting someone she may need to help during her time there, a grieving widow and her son, so tired and satisfied, she goes to bed, however, she is woken in the middle of the night by the Duke in need of her and her friends help, much to their chagrin.
It turns out that there had been an assassination attempt on the King and that her help is needed to find the individual responsible, however, when the finger is pointed at her friend, the chef, she is determined to uncover the culprit and show that her friend is innocent of the crime. Will Elinor be able to solve the crime while also helping out the young lady and the widow all at the same time, or will it all become too overwhelming for her to cope with? This is another fast paced mystery where spirits and food combine with delicious, yet dangerous consequences, all while romance slowly kindles between Elinor and the Duke.
The main character, Jessa, is an herbalist who lost her mom when she was young. When her aunt goes on a trip, Jessa tags along to sketch the countryside. The characters are loveable, and the story is well written. I enjoyed reading how Jessa found herself in the process of solving the mystery. Chilson combined mystery and fantasy and fae extremely well. It left me anxious for more!

Married Blind (King of Screen Book 2) by Morgana Bevan. This is such a fun read. Its the story of Finn and Abi who marry on their first date for a tv show. They both have their own reasons for doing it and neither of them are for love. Abi decides to sign up for a tv show to marry a unknown celebrity so that she will win a large amount of money, she thinks she can do anything for 3 months. Finn needs to clean up his image of trouble and scandals so he thinks why not get married for 3 months and then he will be on his way. What Abi or Finn didn’t count on were feelings getting involved. While on air they are charming and likable but inside they are both fighting their feelings. Will they give in to the feelings and live happily ever after. Read this fun romance to find out!

Fear Inc: Volume 3 by Melinda Valentine. I am loving this series. They are books about different couples so they can be read as a standalone but I highly recommend reading them all. This one is about Kasper and Krysta. Kasper has always been a love them and leave them type of guy. One night stands are right up his alley. Krysta has been the exception, Krysta is Kasper’s best friends little sister and normally would be off limits so they kept their relationship a secret until one tiny mistake tore them apart and broke Krysta’s heart. Krysta feel like her job in life is to move on and hate Kasper with everything thing she is. In reality she is trying to mask the hurt and hide her feelings. Kasper has declared that he will get her back no matter what. Will Krysta ever let down her guard to let Kasper back in or will they both remain heartbroken?
Elinor Chalamet is a woman with an unusual talent, she is a Ghost Talker and can communicate with spirits so that they can pass through to the afterlife, but she also uses her talents to try and find her fathers killer, however, so far she has had little success. One day she receives a summons from the local morgue with a request for her aid with a body which has been found in the canal, however, when she arrives there, she is not expected by everyone and when she reveals what information she is able to, the Duke de Archambeaux, Tristan Fontaine is quite perturbed and insists on Elinor being escorted to his house where she will have to remain under house arrest.
Elinor is not impressed by this and so requests her belongings and her maid to be moved to his home, so that she can still undertake her work in a professional manner, the Duke is reluctant, but when she insists, he allows it, but only if he can vet her correspondence and clients first. This is not something Elinor is happy about, but she obliges and makes it as tedious for the Duke as possible, as it is very much entertaining for her to ruffle his feathers and put him in his place, however, this abrupt and outspoken attitude is not well received by the others living with the Duke.
As the investigation proceeds, Elinor is called upon to help, but as danger and intrigue surround her, will she be able to keep her head and not allow any antagonistic circumstances, or her budding attraction to the Duke de Archambeaux overwhelm her? This is a mystery where nothing is as it seems and the dark underbelly beneath the picturesque setting of Alenbonné is revealed.
Elinor Chalamet speaks to ghosts and solves mysteries. What’s not to love? This book is a fun and quick read with a mix of history, the paranormal, and crime. I love the tough and wity heroine and the banter with her male cohort. Quality writing and an excellent cast of characters. I wonder what will happen next?

One day her aunt receives some troubling correspondence and decides to undertake a journey because of this, Jessa is suspicious, as it is completely out of character, but her aunt will not open up to her and as her sisters are not available to go with her, so Jessa insists on accompanying her aunt on the journey, despite her protestations.
While they travel, the whispers that Jessa hears on a day to day basis become louder and more insistent, but she keeps this hidden from her aunt, as such a thing is frowned upon in society and anyone who is considered “fae-touched” is reported to the Vigilists, a group of people who lock those who can hear the fae whispers, like Jessa, locked up. This is the reason that the destination is dangerous for both Jessa and her aunt, as it is near an Otherworldly Crossing, a place where the fae are more prevalent and anyone fae-touched is more at risk of discovery. Jessa uses her coping mechanisms to ignore the whispers and when they eventually arrive at their destination, she is exhausted, as is her aunt, so they decide to stay at an inn for the evening, but there is a commotion there when they arrive and they learn about just how dangerous this town near a crossing can be.
As the days pass, a series of dangerous attacks occur around the town and Jessa has to make a decision which could change her life forever, someone is guilty of sabotage and she is the only one who can solve the mystery, but if she does, then she risks being reported to the Vigilists. Will Jessa risk everything to solve the mystery, or will all her efforts be in vain? This is a fast paces fantasy novel containing mythical elements, as well as a mystery which will hook you in and leave you wanting to know how the story ends.

This book was written by a new author to me, so I was not sure what to expect. I picked it up because I though the cover was beautiful and had a cat on it. What I found inside was a remarkable story with a phenomenal protagonist. She is such a caring individual that overcomes her fears to protect the people she loves the most. The writer did an amazing job capturing the true human essence as well as the plants, animals, and land around them. I want to be a part of this world. It was a bit wordy at times, but nothing that deterred me from the story. I found this to be a wonderful read and I hope that she will continue this story.

While this is a very quick read (it’s the prequel to the series and a novella) it was a slow start and I had a hard time staying interested. HOWEVER, once the story got going, I was hooked. I love the premise: hidden identity…forced to protect her loved ones and town which means she has to reveal her true self…it’s great. I’m excited to continue this series. I love Chislon’s character development and her world building is fantastic. This read was definitely outside of my typical genres, but I’m glad I picked it up! I definitely recommend this novella and I’m looking forward to continuing the Blood of the Fae series.

The author did a great job with the thought process of the characters and plot. I feel like the author had put way too much details in parts where it wasn’t needed. The book started out slow but it eventually picks back up. The book was a mix of fantasy and mystery all in one. It was a great read.

Jessa lives with her father, two sisters and her Aunt Carisa in Avons. After her mothers death Jessa begins to hear whispers which points to what Avons refers to as ‘The Fae Touch’ now trying to avoid being sent away her father and aunt advise her to control her emotions and thus, control the whispers.
Jessa is able to keep control for a while until she goes to the lands near the world of the Others at which the Whispers she has kept hold of she will have to open herself to in order to protect her family and the ones she loves. What will she do? And can she do it while trying to remain a lady?
This book was really good! Honestly, I knew I would love it from the synopsis. Everything about it pointed to something that would interest me and this author delivered. I loved the way Jessa’s character was developed and her heart of trying to do right by her family and be a lady but also keep them safe as well. For a shorter book it delivered with much descriptiveness and an intriguing storyline. Can’t wait to see more from this author and read more from this world.
I would give this a 4 out of 5 stars. If you like fae and fantasy, otherworldly threats this book would be perfect for you. It is written in a more traditional style and I wasn’t sure how I would enjoy that but honestly it really made the book stand out to me.

In true RL Dunn fashion this book starts off with snippets of the lives of Hunter and Selma. Then you get into the present time and the action just starts unfolding. A spin off of the Chase Security series, the Chase Care series is proving to be just as full of suspense and romance as the other. I truly enjoyed following the story of Hunter and Selma and watching their story unfold. This book is full of detail and will keep you turning the pages to see what happens next and how they deal with what is thrown at them. I am ready for the next book!

Fear Inc: Volume Three is the third book in the Fear Inc series by Melinda Valentine. This is a series of standalone contemporary romances, with each instalment focusing on a different couple. So, you really don’t need to have read the other books to enjoy this one. Having said that though, you might find that one taste won’t be enough- because once through the door at Fear Inc security, you might not want to leave- and will certainly want to know more about all the other people on the crew. This is a second chance romantic suspense, with brother’s best friend/forbidden romance element. The story has plenty of tension, angst, drama, suspense, intrigue, danger, action, secrets, emotion, chemistry, and more. Here we meet Kasper (Gutter Mouth) and Krysta. They have a bit of a complicated history that has caused much pain. The angst, tension, and chemistry between the two pulled me into the story as I needed to know more. They had a secret affair, but then decisions were made, and heartache ensues. But now that she has been taken, their secret will need to come to light if Kasper has any chance of getting her back. What happens here makes for an intriguing and action-packed read. Looking forward to exploring the rest of the series. Happy Reading…

Talisman is the first book in The Talisman series by Tam DeRudder Jackson. This is the first book that I have read of Ms. DeRudder Jackson’s, so I was intrigued to see what I would find between her covers as I love anything paranormal– so this book had my attention before I’d even opened the cover. It starts off really well, so I was anticipating a fantastic story. But unfortunately, while the promise is there, it just doesn’t reach its full potential (for me). I couldn’t connect with the characters, or their story and I wasn’t invested in them at all- so that frustrated me no end. I felt the characters needed more development, with attention to their connection, chemistry, and personalities. With paranormal elements, romance, adventure, danger, intrigue, prophecy, magic, the talisman, Celtic mythology, warriors, good vs evil, history, and so much more— this story should have been a captivating read. But even though there are warriors and battles, adventure and more- the story lacks on the action and adventure side. I felt the author missed the opportunity to take this story to the next level by not creating more dramatic moments, developing more action in keeping with the whole warrior/good vs evil aspect of the storyline, as well as not amping up the tension enough – because if she had, that would have made this an incredibly addictive read, and set the whole series off to a stellar start. Also, there was a lot of info dumps, added details, and threads that didn’t lead anywhere or add to the overall story. So that was distracting, and quite frustrating. There is such a lot of dialogue too, so much so that I felt the story got ‘bogged down’ by it all. Like I said, the potential is there, so I am hoping that the issues with this book will be resolved in the next instalment/s. Happy reading!

This is the second book in the Sicilian Gods series by author Via Mari. I was so excited when Underboss’s Retaliation finally came out. After reading the first I couldn’t wait for it to drop to see what was going to happen in the Larussio family next. And boy oh boy the author did not disappoint, it was just as good as the first one if not better. Emelia and Dominic are probably my favorite thus far ( saving judgment til the rest of the series come lmao) butas everyone knows i’m a sucker for strong females and enemies to lovers stories. Also the mafia genre books have become my favorite lately. I’m literally sitting on the edge of my seat for the next one. Via Mari you truly have a gift for writing and keep it up.

This is the second book to the Kingdom of the elf series. I did not read the first one to this series. But I have to say this book still didn’t disappoint. I will be going back and reading the first book thou, this book really made me want to. The characters were very well written that I didn’t feel the need like I was missing out on something when it was mentioned. It was so well written I did feel lost and confused. This book was very fast paced, that I just couldn’t read it fast enough to know what was going on and know what was going to happen next. This book took a hold of me and wouldn’t let me go till I was done reading. I will also be differently looking for the next book to this series. Very entertaining and enjoyable. .

I had not read any of the author’s previous books before this one, something I will be remedying immediately; as this was a fantastic start to what will be an explosive series. The author did an amazing job with the character development of Rowan and Alyssa and how their bond and connection grows. You feel the hesitancy of Alyssa to just take at face value what she is being told and Rowan’s urgency to help her feel safe, but also needing her to understand what he is telling her. The author’s background and understanding of Celtic mythology in the modern world gave me Percy Jackson vibes, but with a much more adult twist. Being from Montana, I do also enjoy a solid story that takes place here as well. If you are looking for an amazing Celtic mythology story that that been modernized, full of steamy romance, and vivid action and adventure, this will be a series for you!

The journey that the Victorian lady Jessa takes with her Guardian to the town of Middlebury under the mysterious favor called in by her Aunts friend makes the reader curious to see what happens. The mystery continues when they arrive and a dramatic scene unfolds that doesn’t make Jessa any less suspicious of her Aunt’s past and secrets. Ladies are supposed to be demure and uncurious, and Jessa is finding it hard to live by tenants of being a lady if saving her loved one is on the line!
This story is really well written and the imagery put forth by the author is phenomenal! I enjoyed the Fae Lore that went into this novel and not just the bits and pieces that get placed in the genre. It was very refreshing. The novel is short and to the point, but feel that there could’ve been more movement in the story than increased imagery for the character. It felt like walking into a movie that already started and you were picking pieces along the way. (This makes sense as it is a prequel to the series.) I am intrigued by the Blood of the Fae series and seeing what the main saga contains for me, just so I see why the build-up.

What a fun YA historical romance! Getting to marry a prince even by an arranged marriage would probably make most girls very happy but not Rhiannon. For her it is a big fat no thanks but at the same time she knows she really has no choice. She has to handle marriage to someone she doesn’t know anything about and try and save her village. It definitely makes for some interesting times. Having not read anything from this author before I was looking forward to seeing what she had in store for us. I was totally entertained thanks to the great characters and imagery created by this wonderful author and I can’t wait to read more from her.

This story kind of took me by surprise as to just how much I enjoyed it. Now listen I mean that in all the best ways because I read a lot of books and I’m always on the lookout for ones that will stick with me and take me by surprise. This author did that and so much more in my opinion. The characters and storyline are so realistic I just sank right into their world and I was so sad to say see you later to these great characters. From start to finish I was completely hooked and the outside world meant nothing to me! The storyline will have you turning the pages as fast as possible to see what will happen! Five big stars and highly recommended! I can’t wait to read more!

Falling Home is about a woman, named Ginny, who returns to her small hometown to take care of her father while he is recovering from a pending surgery. She returns to a lot of people who are excited to have her back in town, including her ex-husband Max.
This was an adorable story about getting a second chance with someone that you miss and wish you never would have lost. It is set in the perfect, small town environment. The cherry on top is the time of the year. I am a sucker for Christmas romances. I really enjoyed the writing style from the author and the story is adorable. I’m not going to ruin the ending for you. If you want to know if Max and Ginny worked things you, you’ll need to pick up the story yourself.

I came across this book first and started reading it before realizing that this was book 2 in a series. From there I had to find book one just to read to see how my thoughts might be swayed and the impact it has on understanding the second book. Even though I did it backwards I was still able to follow the storyline and the author does a wonderful job with looping you in.
Elinor, our female medium, is a witty, take no prisoners type of person and definitely not one to let society tell her what she must do. So when she gets an invite to a royal feast she must accept after all she also loves to eat. Throw in an attempted murder, a ghost stalking her favorite chef, and the romantic tension between Elinor and Duke Tristan you have a witty masterpiece that anyone would fall in love with. Who will solve this dastardly royal murder attempt or will they end up in the crosshairs of the perpetrator?
This was a witty, humorous paranormal mystery read that will keep you flipping pages just to find out what happens next. Now onto downloading the others in this series so I can see what happens next.
