When she arrives at the charming town of Vouvant, she can see how the Winter Revels are welcomed by the establishments where they sell their wares to the tourists and holiday maker with abandon, but she runs into the same young lady and comes to the rescue again, however, the outcome is more positive for her, than the last one. It turns out that there had been an assassination attempt on the King and that her help is needed to find the individual responsible, however, when the finger is pointed at her friend, the chef, she is determined to uncover the culprit and show that her friend is innocent of the crime. Will Elinor be able to solve the crime while also helping out the young lady and the widow all at the same time, or will it all become too overwhelming for her to cope with? This is another fast paced mystery where spirits and food combine with delicious, yet dangerous consequences, all while romance slowly kindles between Elinor and the Duke.
