Vaughn’s Xena (Dirty Rockhard Billionaire Book #1) by M.I. Rosegold – Review by Angela Hayes

Vaughn's Xena (Dirty Rockhard Series, #1)Vaughn’s Xena by M.I. Rosegold
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

3 Stars

Vaughn’s Xena is the first book in the Dirty Rockhard Billionaire series by M.I. Rosegold. This is the first book that I have read by this author, so I really had no idea about what to expect from one of her stories. But the blurb piqued my interest, so I snapped up a copy to explore.
This is an erotic romance with a little sister’s best friend/college/taboo element, a bit of a kinky storyline (BDSM, humiliation, degradation, public play, edging, spanking, bondage, oral s@x, unprotected/raw sex scenes, spit etc), secrets, chemistry, sizzle, angst, and drama.
The story held the promise of a captivating read and has all the ingredients that should have made it a 5-star read for me- but unfortunately, I just couldn’t connect with the characters, or their story. I also had trouble settling into the author’s writing style.
There were times that I felt quite uncomfortable in the story, and that had nothing to do with the content, as I don’t have any triggers- but felt that mu discomfort was more to do with the way the story was written- it seemed quite choppy at times (for me). I also felt that the dialogue, at times, didn’t fit the characters/scene/or circumstances. And there was a lot of dialogue. And a LOT of information, that at times, seemed surplus to the actual story. Which was quite distracting.
I really wanted to love this story so much, but just couldn’t find my groove with it. I can see by other reviews that I seem to be the only one who feels this way….. so don’t let my opinion put you off exploring the story for yourself and making up your own mind.
I have decided to revisit this book again in a few weeks to see if I still feel the same way about it as I do now, or maybe I will find my groove next time and discover that I was just having an off reading day this time around.
Stay tuned.
Happy Reading…

Thank you, M.I. Rosegold!

An overall great, quick read. This was my first by this author and I really enjoyed it and it was an interesting premise. For a quick read, there was a great storyline with sizzle, drama, and unexpected moments. This is easily read in one sitting and keeps your attention.

The main character, Jasmine, is a likable character with a heartbreaking story. I found myself really rooting for and feeling for her! I also enjoyed the character development of James, especially since I wasn’t sure how I felt about him early on. Then there’s Candace…eesh. When Jasmine has the kiss of her life and then finds out the hot stranger that gave it to her is engaged to her best friend, Candace, what is she to do? Things are not always as they seem, read on to find out what happens!

This was a good 4 star read. This is the Third book in the series. I finished it in one sitting.
The characters had a great connection and I loved how Max would act like he didn’t care but actions proved he did. Of course Sloane had a boyfriend that was terrible to her. When she is put in danger, Max vows to keep her safe. I did have some frustrations with some of Max’s actions but he eventually grew on me. You could feel the tension between them. The author does a great job of pulling you in with her writing. I would love to see more from these two. I look forward to reading more from this series. 1-click and get started today.

I like to mix up genres in hopes I don’t read just feel good stuff but also read psychological thrillers to keep things interesting. This book was a lot more dark, creepy, and unsettling than I usually choose. However, it sure makes you wonder about the environment and family you grow up in and what effect it has.

The book kept my attention, is fast paced and is well written. Troy Cullen is a character that’s hard to like or attempt to connect with. Lots of dysfunction in the family and also in Troy. There is something about Troy though that keeps you reading. Some parts may be a trigger for some readers.

As I mentioned earlier, this was a darker book than I fully expected. I would like to read something else by the author in the future.

This was a very good very short read. The characters were cute and the story line was good but I felt like parts needed more detail. There were times where I felt like the story “robbed Peter to pay Paul” so to speak! It was definitely a cute, easy read.

I love this author’s work, and this book is no different! J.N. Sheats instantly grabs your attention in the beginning of My Pearl Heart, and she doesn’t let go until the very end. I found myself entangled with the characters’ lives and at the edge of my seat wanting to know what was going to happen. Jasmine is quite the businesswoman and has her hands full with work and her best friend. All seems well until she receives the most astounding, jaw-dropping kiss of her life. The problem is that the brilliant kisser is her best friend’s boyfriend…and he is now announcing their engagement. You will want to know what happens as fast as your eyes can read because this story will reel you in. Will Jasmine tell her best friend what happened, or will she try and keep the secret to save their friendship? I highly recommend picking this fast-paced romance up and getting lost in it!

This was a really great read that jumps right into the story! The author has a really easy writing style that really flows. You get to read from Jasmine’s point of view, and you want to yell at her sometimes to speak up. You will definitely get frustrated with some of the characters and their situations in this book. Then something I was not expecting at all takes place and my jaw literally dropped. This story turned out to be way more than I expected! It is definitely worth the read and you will not be disappointed!

Sharing His Nanny (Forever Our Girl Book 2) by Tori Chase – Review by Kerry Baker

Sharing His Nanny (Forever Our Girl, #2)Sharing His Nanny by Tori Chase
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

After reading the blurb of this book I went in expecting it to be a sexy, romance with not much depth, the perfect type of book to get lost in. But I was surprised in the best way when the book offered so much more. The focus always felt like it was more on family than it was on the sexual aspect and I really enjoyed that about the book. the connection between the characters was obvious but it also felt real.
I think the book was really well written and is probably my favourite one by this author so far. I enjoyed the direction the story went in and how the author controlled it. Often, I find a harem story can drive the author rather than the other way round but this author did a great job taking it where she wanted. This was a great book that I would highly recommend.

If you are looking for a quick read and an HEA, look no further. I really enjoyed this book. There are so many twists and turns within the short amount of pages that sometimes I honestly wondered how Sheats was going to take care of everything! But she gets it done! It was well written and the characters were well-developed for the length of the book. I love the dynamic between Jasmine and James and how they compliment each other (even though they may not want to admit it…at first).

Woooow! The first page is fiery hot and definitely pulled me in! We start off with a spicy make out session with a stranger (a very hot and handsome stranger, but stranger none-the-less) on a counter-top in her best friend’s house.
It all started with a call from Cadence, Jasmine (our loveable and fiery main character’s) best friend and business partner, feigning an emergency in the early hours of the morning. So our girl grabs a bag and runs out the door in her pajamas to go to Cadence’s house to help fix this “emergency.” Unsurprisingly, it wasn’t a real emergency, and Jasmine lets it go. She currently has bigger fish to fry and needs to figure out what exactly is really going on and why there is a gorgeous man standing in the kitchen when she knows Cadence isn’t seeing anybody.
Jasmine and Cadence run an event planning business, and Cadence wants to use the business to plan her spur of the moment engagement with her fiancé-to-be, James Conner. The same man who gave Jasmine the best kiss she’s ever had the pleasure of experiencing. Also part of the prestigious Conner family, who was practically royalty in the area.
So what’s a girl to do when she’s so attracted to her best friend’s fiance, (and he’s even more attracted to her?)
Read this book and find out!!! I promise you it’s worth the read, and it won’t be the ending you expected!

This book grabbed my attention from the start, but it was a lot. It was creepy, dark, and twisted. I don’t know if I have ever not liked a character as much as I didn’t like Troy. This was a fast-paced read, and I felt like the ending was rushed. I kind of feel like there should be some trigger warnings on this one.

This is a new author for me which I enjoyed reading. This is the first book in this series and what a great start it is. I can’t wait for book two. I enjoyed reading this romance story. A story about breaking rules to get what you want. I enjoyed how the characters were able to pull me into the story with ease. I found them to be relatable and steamy. I enjoyed how they brought life to the story as well as hard to put down. I found this book to be fast paced and engaging. There is great growth of not only the characters but the plot as well. They have great chemistry which just added to the story for me. I really enjoyed what the characters brought to the story. I highly recommend this book.

This book was a very quick read that packed a punch. I am giving this book 5 star because it was really well written and covers a lot in quick read. I would have loved more to the story, for it to be longer. The leading female in the book goes through her fair share of trauma before the story really begins. It highlights those life changing events and what has lead her to where she is. She meets the love of her life but there is a huge, HUGE, huge problem with that. Can they overcome that issue and can she figure out what she really wants in life? Those are what you will be asking yourself while reading this book. I finished this book in 2 hours and am really wanting more. There is a slow burn romance that flows throughout the book. This book is witty, entertaining, has a bit of drama, bleeding hearts, and slow burn romance. It has everything the romance reader is looking for in a short quick read.

Jasmine finds herself in love with her best friend’s fiancé. While there are many problems with just that statement alone, the two women run a successful, at one time, party planning business. So, while trying to keep the company afloat, Jasmine is having to plan an engagement party and wedding for the man she loves and Cadence. her best friend! But there are many twists and turns in the book and since I don’t give out spoilers, you will have to read it for yourself. Does Jasmine keep her boyfriend of three years, or does she end up with James, the man she truly loves?
This book had me hooked from the very first page. It is a great quick read and enjoyable. I could not put it down as I was invested in finding the truth and learning how Jasmine will find true. The characters are so perfect. The descriptions of them are wonderful and they just jumped off the page and came to life for me. Definitely a must-read book if you like clean cute romance stories.

This is the first book in the Dirty Rockhard Billionaire series. The author does an amazing job with this story. They descriptions and details that the author puts in really brings the story to live and paints pictures in the readers mind so strong if feels like your there.
I always love an Alpha male and Vaughan is definately an Alpha male. His feelings and possessiveness over Xena can sometimes feel a bit much but there is no denying that Xena loves that side of him. She has fantasised about him for a long time but she is completely blown away when fantasy meets reality.
The only downside and possible problem is that Xena is Vaughan’s sister’s best friend and that a line he promised not to cross. But can they deny themselves something that feels meant to be?
This is a very hot steamy read. It will have you laughing, crying and feeling so many different emotions through the story it will feel like a rollercoaster ride.

Virgin? Check

New Identity? Double Check.

Grifter? Triple Check.

Look, it’s not like I have a choice about being born into a family of conmen, or women- technically. A girl’s got to survive, and by the looks of the new town I’m forced into, it’s time to step up my game.

It doesn’t take long to survey my prey, steal a souvenir, and get stopped by a panty-melting local who steals a kiss.

That kiss is poison. Not really, but the emotional kind that forces me to face the fact.

If I give up my precious v-card to a guy, he’s the kind who would take it. Dangerous. Sexy as hell and just as deadly. Distracting enough that I somehow managed to get caught… but will I escape?

Savage Start is an enemies-to-lovers, new adult bully romance with plenty of angst, and the prequel to Riley and Cole’s duet Savage Lies and Savage Truth.

This book contains mature content that some readers may find disturbing. It is not a standalone and does end in a cliffhanger that continues with Savage Lies.

Jaw drop!
Before I get into details about this book. I would first like to mention this is not a young person book. It is for mature adults.
Back to the book.
Love this book. Its dirty in the perfect ways. First chapter gives you the main character(a man) point of view. I mean first chapter alone gives you everything you need. Once you start, can’t stop. It makes your heart race and it is exciting to read. Then once it goes into the woman’s side (main character) it gets even better because now you have both of their points of view.

Vaughn’s Xena is the first of two books and the first book I have read by this author and I look forward to delving in to more of her work. It is a little sister’s college best friend setting. There are a lot of feels in this story, from laughter to disappointed to frustrated to madness and even some in-between.
Vaughn Wolf is our main man and his surname is totally fitting. He knows what he wants and usually gets it. He likes control and likes to be in charge.
Xena has a secret that is buried down deep and belies her being a good girl. She knows what she likes, what she needs, what she craves. Now she knows just where she can get it.
There is steam, sizzle, and it’s oh so kinky. It is enough to leave you hot under your collar.
M.I. is a descriptive writer so it is so easy to conjure up imagines and imagine our MC’s and the journey that they are on. You are only limited by your own imagination.
You need to settle in for a spicy time when you read this book. I am going to let you discover it all by yourself.
I am waiting for book 2 of the series─ “Xena’s Vaughn” that is coming soon.

My Pearl Heart

I have very mixed feelings about this book. I really like Jasmine, and the writing overall, but I found myself getting angry while reading and it shocked me to gave such a strong reaction to parts of the story along with characters. I usually have hearts in my eyes and smiles when I’m reading.

Jasmine needs to be loved plain and simple. She has lost so much and dealt with heart break for far too long.

James isn’t a bad guy, but he has definitely made some very bad decisions including the one he made just before we are introduced to him.

It was hard putting this one down since I couldn’t wait to see what happened. I would definitely read something written by her again, especially curious to see if i react the same way.
