The book doesn’t start with a build-up or back story of Troy’s life instead the reader ends up in the middle of the mess that is his life. Troy was raised in an abusive home and in the beginning, I thought that he would rise above it and be a good guy despite this. However, he ends up being just as dark and twisted. Around the middle of the book it does lag a little, but overall it was a quick read and surprised me with the ending.

Jasmine was swept off her feet literally by a single kiss. Unfortunately for Jasmine within minutes of the most passionate kiss of her life, the man, James, who gave that kiss to Jasmine announced the engagement to her best friend and business partner. Jasmine has no family so she throws herself into building the event planning business that is Cadence’s dream. With the announcement of Cadence’s wedding to James Jasmine starts to learn more about herself and what SHE wants. Even if that happens to be one thing she can’t have. This was a page-turner from the start! I could not put this book down. Yes, it did frustrate me at some points but I still needed to keep reading to find out what happened to Jasmine, Jame, and Cadence! Can’t wait to read more from this author.

This book had me hooked from the start. This story took me on an emotional roller-coaster. I was angry at certain characters at different times while reading. I felt the hurt of betrayal and loss. I was glad to see Jasmine see things with a clearer perspective the further along we got. There were some unexpected turns in this story and the more I got to know James the more I started to like him. During most of this story I wanted to throw Cadence out a window (haha). Overall I enjoyed reading this story and look forward to reading more from this author.

This was not at all what I was expecting, but in such a good way. This book certainly exceeded all my expectations. I don’t think I have been able to read anything this dark and twisted in a long time. When I say this is dark, boy is this dark, and yet I couldn’t put it down. I did have to reset and read something very light and easy after reading this. So I guess this is your warning to prepare yourself for dark and heavy, because I was not expecting it to be so dark and heavy. The characters all had their own darkness. This started off slow, but it didn’t take to have my full undivided attention. I will say that I do wish the ending didn’t feel so rushed, but it didn’t take away from my reading experience in any way so I am still giving this a 5 star review.

I enjoyed reading this second chance romance. This is a newer author for me which I have enjoyed her writing skills as well as her attention to details. I found this book to be well written and engaging. Kasper and Krysta are great, strong characters. They have great chemistry and growth throughout the story as well. They add so much to the story which makes it easy and entertaining to read. I enjoyed how they pulled me into their world from the start. They are connectable and supportive of each other. Their story is one of emotion and second chances. What will fate have in store for them? Will they ever get the happily ever they deserve? I really enjoyed their story and I highly recommend it
I enjoyed reading this romance story. One of the things I enjoyed most about this book is the author’s ability to use details to not only make her story come to life but also the characters pop. This is a well written story that is written with a lot of heart and emotion. I enjoyed the characters and how they pulled me into their world with ease. They have great growth and chemistry throughout the story. They not only bring romance but also some suspense. I found this book to be fast paced, engaging and entertaining. What fate has in store for these characters you don’t want to miss. Will there be a happily ever after or torn apart? I really enjoyed reading this book and I highly recommend it.

After a beyond-swoon-worthy moment of bliss, wedding planner Jasmine gets the surprise of a lifetime: Her best friend is marrying the surprise-kisser. Thing is, this isn’t the first time the two have met. Despite the dazzling spark between them, Jasmine is determined to make her best friend’s wedding amazing…even if it means avoiding the guy who drives her crazy. Of course, nothing is what it seems, this marriage arrangement is a sham, a contracted agreement between the would-be bride and groom. Could things between Jasmine and Jame turn into more?

If you love SEAL stories and romance then this is the book form you!! The main characters are brilliant. They were so easy to engage with and I really enjoyed their story. The element of the ex-boyfriend adds a layer of excitement too. I couldn’t stop reading as I wanted to know what was going to happen.
This author is still relatively new to me but each book I have enjoyed, with this being another to add to the list. It is an exciting and fast paced story that I thoroughly enjoyed.

This isn’t the first book I’ve read by the author. Things are Shaking is the second book in the Invisible Magic Wand Series. My kid loves hearing these stories.
Caspian and his cousin are eating waffles with their grandpa. When his cousin wants a wand for herself. I couldn’t choose a quote without giving away the story.
My Pearl Heart is a great contemporary romance novella. At only 88 pages I devoured this in one sitting as I really enjoyed the storyline and it flowed well keeping me engaged. I really liked both of the main characters Jasmine and James. Jasmine’s best friend, who is also James’ fiancée is another matter. I really did not understand how someone as sweet as Jasmine could have a person like Cadence as a best friend. I don’t think she has a single quality that I liked or admired. Such a horrible, nasty piece of work, only interested in one thing…herself. I really enjoyed reading Jasmine and James’ story and was hoping that they would get the HEA that they deserved as these two were totally meant for each other. Even for a short read, the author managed to have quite a bit of content, making this a very enjoyable, entertaining read. If you’re looking for something quick and enjoy a good romance then I’d recommend this book for you.

I absolutely devoured this book. I read the first book in the Quimby Grove series last year and it was amazing so I had high expectations for this book and I was not let down. The writing in this book is done so well and I adored each character just like I did in the first book. This story is a second chance romance which usually isn’t my favorite but I liked this being a one-night stand situation where they just by chance see each other again and it goes from there. The story was unique enough in this trope that I did not feel like I was reading a story that has already been told which can be hard to do in second-chance romances. The other thing I loved about this story is the added suspense and mystery going on in the town. There is a perfect mix of spice, plot, drama, and love. It felt genuine and I really believed that Max and Marley were meant to be together and raise their twins together. Watching Max become a dad to kids he did not know existed was so sweet and he was so great all around. Their romance and family coming together was fast paced but did not feel rushed. It felt very natural and normal and the writing style really helped with that. I felt this family’s love as I was reading and it was lovely. Highly recommend this read and this author.

Laurel is about the age where she comes out as a bride to be. She doesn’t want the party, but she gets it anyway. Can she learn to do what she needs to do? The quote I chose for Laurel is: “I have something of the utmost importance to discuss. You know how I seek your wise counsel in every aspect of my life. Now my future, my entire life, depends on you.”

James is a very bad boy , a delectable speciMAN, yes , a great kisser , yes , a flirt and charmer , yes and Jasmine and I aren’t immune to him 😂😍
Please don’t judge James to harshly he’s actually a honey ❣️

If you like angst and drama this is a read for you. The three main characters are Jasmin, Cadence and James. They each have secrets and desires that you discover as you read the story. I found the story interesting, but struggled connecting with the characters – especially Jasmin. I did enjoy the author’s style and kept reading as I did want to see how it ended. Romance, drama, roxic friendships, and so many ups and downs .

I definitely enjoyed this book and it can be read as a standalone. Peyton and Ryan find themselves enter into a fake relationship, both for individual goals. Ryan doesn’t like Peyton very much due to his misconstrued belief of her true character and Peyton is just trying to get by without losing the program for the community center that she desperately needs for at risk youth. As time progresses, these two start to build an actual connection but neither wants to admit to the other and we are left wondering if these two will finally realize they actually love each other. I liked the dynamic of the Ryan’s friend group of the baseball team and also how Kendall came in as a friend for Peyton. The drama behind the Andy/Simon situation was a bit much and I felt that Ryan and Peyton should have spoken up for themselves more. Great story and mostly good characters.

I loved this book from the first chapter and could not put it down. The author truly pulled at all my emotions with this story. I was mad, sad, confused, annoyed, and eventually satisfied with the ending. I got a very “The Wedding Planner” vibe reading this book which was great since that is one of my favorite movies. The characters ran the gamut from antagonist to protagonist which only added to the story. The author did an excellent job keeping me on the edge of my seat with this book. It is a remarkable story.

He is obsessive and territorial. Controlling and kinky. He is a stalker. He is Vaughn. And he loves only one woman—his little sister’s best friend—Xena.
Vaughn Wolf is a charming, confident, and sexy man, the owner of a chain of luxurious nightclubs. He has been single for a long time, waiting for his perfect girl. A girl who will be able to match him and his desires in every way possible. A perfect match from God to him.
And here comes Xena Meyer. A sharp, fierce, and gorgeous woman with her perfect, sweet, dangerous curves. She has always been a good girl, but she has a secret. A dirty secret embedded within her.
Then, when fate crosses her path with Vaughn Wolf for good, she knew right away that her time to spill all her secrets has come. There was no way out of it.
Also, (un)fortunately, Xena is Vaughn’s little sister’s college best friend. Someone he shouldn’t even think of initiating anything.
But rules are meant to be broken, right?
Especially when she is the girl you have been waiting for forever?
Author M.I. Rosegold is a full-time writer with a head full of spicy-romance stories to share with her wonderful Rosettas. One thing to know about her is she has an unhealthy obsession with books, coffee, and men in suits.
Another gem from Lois, a lovely story with beautiful artwork teaching children about bees and ways they can support them in their own backyard. There’s even an activity in the back for children and adults to enjoy.
Jasmine is a woman on her own. She is a good friend, a business owner that plans events with her friend Cadence, and someone happy with her freedoms – until James Conner comes along and literally sweeps her off her feet with a passionate kiss. That would be great, if he didn’t immediately announce his engagement to Cadence afterwards!
James Conner is the black sheep in a family of well known and successful businesspeople. He missed out on the successful, good decision making gene. He’s a drunk, known for spending his time wallowing in self pity after a string of bad business decisions. Now, however – he has a plan, and a contract. It starts with marrying Cadence and getting the funding for a new business venture and ends with a mutual divorce. What he didn’t plan on was Jasmine, or his growing attraction to her.
Cadence is a character you love to hate. She is greedy, mean, selfish, and is completely unreliable. At the start of the book, Jasmine loves her beyond her faults and loves her friend regardless, but as she and James continue to feel the draw of the other, she notices the less desirable qualities that overwhelm her from Cadence. James admits to her the marriage is one of convenience and was agreed upon by both parties, but Jasmine has so many reasons to say no.
Will they walk away from one another, or will Jasmine pursue the feelings James has evoked in her? Fun read, sweet story, recommend.
My Pearl Heart is a Contemporary Romance that is a fast paced short story that I devoured in one sitting. This is a fairly new author to me but their style of writing and attention to detail with fully developed and relatable characters make for an amazing story. This is a story about Jasmine and James. She’s been running away from memories for a while now . She puts a thousand percent into everything she does and her business in which she started with her friend is going to be going through some changes and soon. James is the hot hot guy she threw out of his parents party. James has big dreams as well. Can these to get what they both want? I don’t want to give away anything. But I highly recommend reading this book. I’m looking forward to reading more from this Author

This fantastic book definitely had me turning page after page as quickly as I could in order to see what was going to happen next. It is filled with plenty of twists and turns to keep you fully captivated in the storyline and is so well written by this very talented author that nothing is predictable. This is the first in this particular series and if this in any indication of what is yet to come well I say bring it on!! The wonderful characters all through the book pull you further into this story and have you not so patiently waiting to know even more about them and their action filled lives. This new series is a spin off from another series by this very talented author and I believe some of the characters featured here are in those books so I will definitely be checking those out now. Having said that though, my reading experience for this book was in on way hindered by the fact I had not read the other series. I have a new author to add to my must read list and that makes me a very happy girl!!

Overall this was a very good book. The plot moved along that it did not become stale but had twist and turns so that it wasn’t easy for the reader to guess. The beginning started out just a little confusing, I think more context was needed but that was very easy to overcome! Even having not read the first one it did not take away from this book!

This is one of those Mafia stories that shows it all. The inner workings of the Mafia families, the fights, the shootouts. The author does an amazing job with character building too. Emelia is a badass spitfire who isn’t afraid to stand up for herself. While Dominic is the underboss who is protective of her from the jump. Enemies to lovers in one of the most dangerous worlds possible. Definitely worth the read.

This one grabs you right from the get go and I read this entire book in one sitting!!
We get reacquainted with Max, who we met in Finding Starlight. I’m excited that he is featured in this story while still learning more about Beckett and Ellawyn. Max is on the beach playing his music and a drop dead gorgeous woman with a bottle of wine saunters his way. Marley is over it. She’s not only been the maid of honor but also the wedding coordinator for her ex-boyfriend. What a drag!
Before they know it, Max and Marley are all tangled up on the beach in a one night stand. They don’t know each other’s names, where they live, or anything about the other. They part ways and don’t think they’ll ever see each other again but neither of them forget the other.
Marley is back in Quimby Grove when she sees him and he sees her. She’s working so she’s not able to talk to him right away but when she finally does, she has news for him. He’s a dad.
Max realizes his life just took a MAJOR turn and he’s hoping it’s one for the better. Can he be a good dad to Jax and Izzy? What about a supportive significant other to Marley?
Life throws all kinds of curveballs as there are several different crimes being committed all of a sudden in Quimby Cove. The subject of the crime? Marley…but she’s innocent in it all.
I enjoyed this book but would have enjoyed it much more without all the unnecessary language. It was a bit excessive. The story in itself was intriguing and I look forward to hearing about Avery and Keenan!!

This story follows Dominic and Emelia, who get tangled up after a battle between the two crime families in Las Vegas leaves Emelia in the hands of her enemy. The good is that the overall plot and character development are decent; it’s an interesting storyline. There are some things I wasn’t all that impressed with, though, and some of it bordered on annoying. The use of “capiche” to emphasize certain statements struck me as a bit tacky in the dialogue. Some of the push-pull between the main characters felt forced or just not entirely plausible. There were a few points where the characters get flirty or frisky shortly after some big tragic event takes place, so it feels like the reader is getting steamrolled a bit for the sake of some manufactured sizzle.

Rhia Caddell is only 16 years old when her father arranges a marriage to the Kings youngest son, Emerys, to try and save their small village. Rhia’s father is the mayor of the town and he did not want to bow to the king and pay taxes. The King is finally demanding what he is owed or he will wipe the town off the map. Rhia is their last hope. The family hopes that her marriage to the Prince will sway the Kings sentence.
Unfortunately Rhia is not a typical ‘Lady’. She is used to getting her hands dirty. She also is very tall for a woman making her see herself as undesirable.
The Prince is almost opposite of Rhia. He is dainty with soft hands that have never known hard work. Instantly Rhia digs her heels in. She does not want this marriage and she makes it known from the beginning. Instantly there is tension between the couple. Can she save her town before it is too late?
This story was very cute. It was opposites attract trope mixed with enemies to lovers with a HEA! I loved Rhia. She is sassy, independent, brave and stubborn. Emerys was full of hope and determination to show his father he can be a good Prince but lacked self confidence. The two evened each other out quite nicely.

Dominic Larussio, new underboss of one of the most dangerous crime families, falls for a woman that should be his enemy. After the attack on his family, making his cousin Salvatore the new don, Dominic should not want anything to do with this enthralling young beauty. Book two follows Dominic’s experience with love. Does the rival’s daughter cause an end to the Larussio reign, or does she become Dominic’s love? Find out in Underboss’s Retaliation. Again, all characters are lovable with realistic feelings. The emotions are palpable through the pages. I would not change a single thing. Full of romance, mystery, and suspense, I could not but Underboss’s Retaliation down. The series can be a standalone, but I highly suggest reading Boss’s Vendetta first. It sets the stage for Underboss’s Retaliation. If you are looking for a dark romance series, be sure to check out Sicilian Gods.
