Shadow wolf was exactly what I would expect from a supernatural story. You get shapeshifters, vampires, and a human at the center of it all. Plus a bit of romance. There’s an air of mystery with this story and at the end you definitely have a lot more questions. Which is great because I prefer reading series. This is the first book I’ve come across by this author and I’m excited to read others.

Glen makes an unwanted appearance but instead of gearing up for a fight the Bennett’s show grace and this is what really hit me and while I really loved Elyse and Walt what really got to me and meant so much to me is the redemption, forgiveness, grace and compassion that was shown and it’s just what my heart needed , there’s so much going on in the real world and it tends to drown me so this read really was soul soothing for me and it encouraged my empathic heart ❤️
I just love the Bennett’s and their family dynamics and the people of Langston Falls will leave you wanting to come back for more and I’m sure we will , Hank has a story he wants to share 😉❣️🙏

I love this series, and I can’t wait till the next book comes out! The author brings us back to the ghost talking world Spirit Guide. A world I have fallen in love with. A world where ghosts are very present. A world where one woman uses her Ghost Talker talents to help solve mysteries and murder. Oh yeah with some attraction and tension thrown in. Madame Chalamet is back but with an apprentice in tow. One of the regulations of The Morpheus Society, is they have to take on at least one apprentice every 10 years to remain a member. Unfortunately it’s that very society that she will be going head to head with in this book. Parnell Lafayette is no friend and is now the head of the society, so any way he can ruffle Elinor’s feathers he will do just that. Hence her apprentice Twyla. What she didn’t expect was Archambeau to show back up in her life unexpectedly with a case he needed assistance on. Especially since he kind of “ghosted” her. Elinor and Tristan have tension between them that comes to head about midway through, however her feelings towards his action don’t stop her from trying to locate the missing Lady Losendahl. I love Elinor and Tristan, but the question is do they finally do something about the tension between them? The dynamic they have working together is great but there’s so much more to explore between them. How is The Morpheus Society involved? What are these ghost parties people are talking about? Trust me when I say it won’t be exactly what you think. Which is why you need to read book 3! If you haven’t read any of them, you can still jump in each book on their own. However there are elements that cross over from book to book, which is why I advise starting with book 1. So what are you waiting for? Me, I’m waiting for book 4, read and join me on that wagon.
This is first by Lillian Rose and it was a shapeshifter book I have read in a while. Tamaska and Kodiak is love at first site. Kodiak is there to protect her and the gem, but can he do both? The book was a little slow at first but it did pick up. I was scared that it was going to be like Twilight, but it turned out different. I am ready to keep reading this author to see where she ends up.

Right off the bat I was intrigued by the instant connection between Tamaska and Kodiak, despite both of them fighting the attraction. I had not read any other books by the author, but I greatly enjoyed the world she created with shifters, vampires, and humans. I loved how well written the characters were and how well they worked together. Tamaska was such a wonderful female main character and I loved that she was so strong, Kodiak was such a sexy shifter and his abilities made him a great leading male. The author did a great job of keeping me in suspense of what was happening and I couldn’t put the book down. I can’t wait to read the rest of the series and see where the series goes.

This book also serves as an introduction to garden pests, food webs, and basic scientific method. Loretta is a believable, realistic character that could easily be a real person. As an educator, I enjoyed how Loretta solves the scientific problem of what is happening to her orange tree.

This is my first book by this author and I loved it and the cover of the book is stunning. I am already anxiously anticipating book 2!! This story has drama, shifters, vampires, wolves and romance and I loved the names of the 2 main characters, Kodiak and Tamaska.
Tamaska is the lead whom has a Blood Opal up for bid and this may make or break on keeping her job. She has every detail planned out for this auction to happen, including the highly recommended security detail, but when plans don’t go accordingly, the Blood Opal disappears.
Kodiak is a shifter and part of the security detail that Tamaska hires to protect the Blood Opal. He stops at nothing to try to make things right when the Blood Opal goes missing on his watch and comes under much scrutiny, especially in the eyes of Tamaska. When Kodiak and his team find out that vampires might be the cause of the disappearance of this opal, it is a race against time to find it.
Tamaska and Kodiak butt heads at the beginning but it turns into this deep connection, all Kodiak wants to do is find this opal and also protect Tamaska. The Vampires are dangers and hold the key to the opal and they also have Tamaska on their menu. Will Kodiak protect Tamaska when she needs it the most? Will Tamaska find out what Kodiak truly is outside of being security detail? Will Kodiak and Tamaska find the Blood Opal so it does not stay in the wrong hands?
This story is great I really enjoyed the spark between Tamaska and Kodiak and both their character growth. I am so looking forward to book 2 to see what happens next!!

Enemies to lovers Rom Com This was an hilarious read. I loved the dynamic between Hollis and Cash. The book launches straight into the story and the reader is immediately swept up into their battle. The banter, chemistry and steam is well written and it is told in dual POV which makes for a better connection with the characters. This is book #1 in Love on Tap series about the Brooks family but there is a novella with Denny and Rosie’s story which is worth checking out. Can’t wait for Carter’s book, Smooth Hoperator. Highly recommend.

A good start The first book in the Protector Wolf Shifter Series and we meet wolf shifter Kodiak and human Tamaska. It is a fast paced, dual POV story with a mix of action, romance, sexy times, paranormal, mystery and drama. The wolf/vampire aspect is well done. It ends on a cliffhanger and the reader is literally left hanging with unanswered questions leading into book 2. Looking forward to seeing where this goes. Recommend.

The Forlorn Cowboy (The Studs of Clear Creek County) by Stacy-Deanne. I loved this book and I can’t wait for the next one. This can be read as a standalone as well. Its the story of Christopher who is a poor farmer in Clear Creek. He has found a solution to his wealth in Minnie a rich socialite who he an marry only problem is he’s not in love with her. He meets Greta Fay a black activist who is very adamant about the rights and wrongs of life. Christopher falls madly in love with her. He doesn’t want to hurt his father but he can’t make himself marry someone he doesn’t love. Will he do the one thing he doesn’t want to do and marry Minnie even though he doesn’t love her like she loves him or will he follow his heart. This is a short novella that is surely worth your time to read.

Tamaska loves her job. That is until it all went down the toilet when she was hired to coordinate an event that showed off the priceless Blood Opal. Everything was going wrong. The head of the team, Kodiak, was a stubborn and commanding man which instantly set Tamaska off because she was just as stubborn and commanding.
Instantly there was tension between the two so when the Blood Opal disappeared, Tamaska blamed Kodiak immediately.
Meanwhile, Kodiak is a wolf shifter and realizes instantly that something more sinister is at play. It appears that the vampires are behind the theft, they have also taken a special interest in Tamaska. She decides to try to find the Blood Opal herself causing more trouble. Kodiak is trying to keep her safe from a world she knows nothing about. However, his Alpha forbade him from protecting her. He thinks that they should just focus on the vampires. Kodiak wants to do both. He is oddly attracted to Tamaska and has no idea why. Will he be able to keep her safe while keeping her oblivious to the supernatural world right under her nose?
This book was very exciting. The book starts off with a bang and never has a dull moment. I loved both characters, even though they were very similar personality wise, they were also so different and seemingly perfect for each other. The book has lots of action and some steamy scenes as well. The book ends with a lot more to come. I can’t wait for the next book to come out!

Tamaska is a woman with a lot on her plate and the determination to succeed, as well as a clear idea of her path in life, however, when her latest venture goes terribly wrong, she is at a loss of what to do. Kodiak is a man with talent, not to mention that he is a wolf shifter and the second in command, but he has eyes on the top spot, however, when his latest job goes south, he is determined to make things right.
When Tamaska and Kodiak lock eyes the first time they meet, they can feel something smouldering between them, but they are more focussed on work than each other, no matter how hard it is to do, but when the unexpected happens, this connection they feel causes Tamaska to blame Kodiak for how things went down, but he knows he is innocent and is determined to find out the root cause of the failure. Tamaska is also determined to get answers, but when she follows a lead, she doesn’t realise the danger she is in, or that Kodiak will be in the same place at the same time and when one thing leads to another, they cannot deny their attraction any longer, but this isn’t the only dangerous territory they encounter, Kodiak is determined to protect Tamaska, even if she doesn’t want him to.
As Kodiak continues to investigate and finds out that the vampires are involved and that they are making moves which are unusual to their previous patterns and Tamaska is slap bang in the middle of it all, but when he reports what is happening to his alpha, he is given orders he doesn’t agree with and now knowing that he has to make a choice between Tamaska and his pack, what will he do and how will she react to that decision? This is a fast paced urban fantasy where difficult choices have to be made and the consequences dealt with no matter the costs and this makes it a steamy and action packed start to this series.

Talking about steamy, this one delivers! Yet there is so much emotion and character development that it was really enjoyable to read. I loved how Brooklyn has already mostly healed when this story starts and we get to see the trauma as backstory instead of as main plot and healing as the defining storyline. Don’t get me wrong, the history of the characters is important and has major bearing on who they are, and the past definitely drives a lot of the story, but it doesn’t directly define who our characters are. I love that Pierre walks that line with grace for the female lead so well!

This book I’ve been looking forward to since the first one! Shadow is the tough-as-nails enforcer for the Devil’s Handmaiden’s MC and I am absolutely blown away at how Earl wrote this one. I was on the edge of my seat and in tears at times, but the development of her character in this tale was just so well done. Serious Trigger Warning, but if you want to believe in someone being able to heal and have a life, this is the story.
This is a great childrens book to show kids how to investigate what objects mke what sound when they are dropped. Also helps rhyming. The illustrations are beautiful an colorful. I do think the curved writing may be hard for some children an spelling errors shouldnt be in a childrens book.

This was a relatively great book. Compared to the first it wasn’t quite as good though. The characters were really well written and the scenes are beautiful. However, the story itself felt rushed to me. This was still a great read and I highly recommend it to those who enjoyed the first in the Made in Heaven series. Kincaid has a really great gift for story-telling and I look forward to her next novel!

This book was really great. I love a good shifter book. The head vampire wants Tamaska. Kodiak must protect her, even though his alpha denies him this right. She doesn’t trust him after, he didn’t protect the opal from being taken. There is a connection between the two. Will they be able to settle their differences and Kodiak be able to protect her? I am ready to read the next book.

A Stranger in Disguise is the fourth book in the Inspector Scala Mystery series but also a book that can be read as a stand-alone title. It is also the first book I’ve read by PJ Mann. While reading, I was pleased to find it was a well-woven and suspenseful crime with a whodunit mystery that will have any MacBeth lover captivated. As we join the investigation that the very stubborn detective is working, we go along to get to the bottom of it. But with the body count mounting the case becomes more complex than what originally was thought. It begs the question of whether the cursed play is truly cursed.

This historical fiction YA title, set in Edinburgh in 1665, is a great book with plenty of plot twists that will keep the you guessing the ending. Kenna has such an adventurous spirit and I was constantly waiting to find out who killed her sister. Her will to survive had me cheering her on every step of the way. This is a paranormal romance novel which contains a crime leading to a dangerous adventure. I love these types of novels as I love being able to get lost in a well-constructed world surrounded by fantasy creatures. This book did not disappoint me, it met my expectations!
From the very beginning the story is set up vey well. It is clear what Tamaska’s priorities are her aspirations and her goal at the event. You get a hint of what’s to come at the mention of the importance of the Blood Opal. The author’s descriptive writing continues throughout the book creating vivid imagery and the characters are written equally as well, if not better.
Tamaska and Kodiak are both strong individuals who are stubborn and conflicted which on occasion had me shaking my kindle in frustration as I imagined I was knocking some sense into them. I found myself really enjoying the character of Kodiak, his protective instincts and his character development (from hating all humans to not) was enjoyable and had my love for him growing as the story progressed; however I can’t say the same for Tamaska. While I loved that she seems to know what she wants from life and is her own person, I didn’t like her attitude. She did not seem to take everything into consideration before making accusations or insisting things be done her way. Even with this viewpoint of Tamaska, her personality does add to the drama of the storyline, and my love for Kodiak may be making me a little bias against her; but ultimately, I hope she has some further character development in the next book as Kodiak deserves better.

I love paranormal romances involving shifters. As this is a new author to me, I was excited to read this book. Kodiak is a wolf shifter who must protect Tamaska. The problem is that she doesn’t want his protection. She is attracted to him but is fighting it all the time. She is stubborn and hardheaded. He must protect her against the vampires whom she knows nothing about. His alpha forbids him from going anywhere near her claiming that there are more important matters to tend to. Kodiak can’t explain his attraction towards her especially because she is a human. Be it as it may, he decides to risk everything for her.
This is a great start to what I believe will be a fantastic series. The foundation was built beautifully with just enough information, drama and intrigue to keep you interested in finding out more. I love the chemistry between the two main characters. They fit perfectly together. There is obviously a lot more going on and I can’t wait to see how everything unfolds.

This is a fun little spin on the story of Chicken Little. Lois Wickstrom does not disappoint when writing children’s books. The text is written in a fun manner that engages the person reading and makes it exciting.
So I’m sure we have all heard this story. We love the rhymes with the names of each character. But this author took this story so much further! She turned this rhyming story into a Science Investigation. WOW! She did a fantastic job with sounds, adventure and investigating. I could not wait for my grandchildren to hear this version of Chicken Little. We had so much fun dropping things as well as going for a walk to find some of the things the characters had found. What an adventure we had. This author has become one of my favorites, as she has fresh ideas and makes reading so much more fun for children as well as adults. Fantastic Story!
This was a really emotive read. The author does a great job with the characters. While the subject matter is a bit hard to read the author handles the subject in a way that is respectful but allows the reader and insight in the thoughts and feelings of the people involved and the repercussions of the incident that took place. This story is fast paced and has turns in I didn’t see coming.
When Ben finds a young girl at a party, naked and very drunk he is horrified to discover that in her drunken state there was guys taking advantage of her. Unsure of what to do to help her being in a drunken state himself he locks the bedroom door to stop anyone else entering the room. Since that night Ben has been terrorised with images about that young woman. Did she consent to what was happening to her? Was she even aware of what was going on? And if she wasn’t aware or didnt consent does that mean his best friend is a rapist? This story is seen through the eyes of a privileged young man with the world at his feet and feeling untouchable with his friends. After what happened with Claire his world starts to unravel as the guilt of what he had witnessed starts to eat away at him. This book is very emotional and the writers writing will make you feel every emotion that Ben is going through. All the anger, angst and guilt really jumps off the pages at you.

This story picks up right after the events of the first book. As with the first book, be aware of content warnings. This story deals with some heavy subject matter that may be difficult for some readers.
I felt like this book is actually better than the first one. Where the first one was a good story, it didn’t have the overall feel of a usual MC tale. This story brings the atmosphere you would expect from an MC book. The intensity was higher. The suspense was better. You get to see how strong the women are to a better degree. Shadow’s character felt more real to me.
The one thing that I didn’t care for is there were times it felt like Panther’s heritage was fetishized. I’m not sure if it was written that way on purpose to reflect something about the characters since most of it was in dialogue, or if it is the way I interpreted it. Example: One of the characters says, “I’m assuming he’s Native by those awesome cheekbones and beautiful long, black silky hair… Can I have one of those for my next birthday?”
First, know going in that, as mentioned in the book description, this is not a sweet romance. There are no specific content warnings listed, but this story deals with some heavy subject matter and some on-page scenes that may be difficult for some readers.
I wasn’t sure what to expect going into this story, but in just a few pages, I was hooked. It didn’t feel like the usual MC tale, but the world-building is great. The characters have good dimension. The story has suspense, danger, and romance. Even though I had it figured out shortly into the book, I enjoyed that there was a good story line with the romance. The one thing I didn’t care for was how some of the guys don’t view the women’s MC as a true club.
Overall, I enjoyed the story. Looking forward to the next book.
The Empty Box (Invisible Magic Wand) by Lois Wickstrom is another cute and fun children’s story. Caspian is celebrating his unbirthday and receives another fun, silly gift from his grandfather. The box is empty when Caspian opens it but his grandfather says it is an invisible magic wand.
This book has a great lesson and cute illustrations. My sons really enjoyed the story. I feel like it really helped us fire up our imaginations. It also helped reinforce the lesson of waiting for rewards. I highly recommend this book to young children.
