This story is engaging and I loved the spin on this retelling of a classic children’s story.

Jacqueline and her mother are trying to find ways to provide food on their table. As Jacqueline navigates with her cow, Bessie, to the market to bargain…..an old man stops Jacqueline to try and barter for some magic beans. What happens to Jacqueline once the beans are in her possession?

This is a fun, cute story and I always enjoys Lois Wickstrom’s books.
