Izzy is a reporter bent on writing articles for sale about the local Mafia in Las Vegas. Lorenzo is the Consigliere for that same Mafia and wants nothing more than to stop her in her tracks. When they collide, sparks fly but can they trust each other? Opinion If Via Mari writes it, I read it. Mari is my go to author for when I am in the mood for a Mafia romance. The way she is able to convey a dangerous world but make the women feel so protected in it amazes me. This book is no different. With this book, Mari is able to show her skills in bringing together people who shouldn’t make sense. A journalist and someone who routinely breaks the law should not get along but they do. I loved this book from start to finish and look forward to more.

This book was amazing, it was so well written, the worlds and the characters were all so well written it felt like you could be right there in the story. I really liked the way the author did a mix of hybrid fantasy characters; I enjoy reading other people’s take on how vampires and werewolves are perceived. This story was very fast paced and packed with action with the battles that you will not want to put this book down till you are done. I however didn’t read the first book, but it was still easy to follow and know what was going on, but I can tell you I will be going back and reading the first one. I do believe I would understand a lot more if I started with book one, but it was still an amazing read and easy to follow and wasn’t that confusing. This book was very enjoyable, and I am happy I picked it up and can’t wait to know if there will be more from this author. Highly recommend this amazing book.

Immortality, hybrids and adventure This paranormal urban fantasy is the second book in The Silver Blood Knight series. I really enjoyed the characters, storyline and world building. Book 1 is definitely the place to start, as it provides a foundation for this book. There is so much between the pages from wizards and magic to vampires and shifter hybrids with action and mystery interwoven throughout. A great read. Recommend.

I loved this mystery. Darcy is a cool chick with a rockin’ record store that ends up with a hell of a mystery. The musician is quite the character. The suspects make quite the lineup. Everytime I thought I figured it out, twist ahead. I love mysteries like this. It’s cool, contemporary and a quite entertaining read. I found the story is one that I just dove right in. This was my first one from this author so, of course, I had to go buy the first book in the series. I can’t wait to read more in the Darcy series. If you want a fun, quick read, you must give go with this one.

Concert Hall Hit is a fun small-town cosy mystery cleverly woven together by J.C. Kenney. It is the second book in the A Darcy Gaughan Mystery books. The vivid image that his words inspire makes it easy to imagine the town that is front and centre, Marysburg, Indiana. I have not read anything by JC before and I really enjoyed it. I mean who doesn’t love a gumshoe detective tale and a charming small town full of entertaining characters. With a murder, a music legend, a super sleuth and lots of twists and turns you can’t go wrong. Darcy love music and moves to the beat of her own drum. Having a music legend meet and greet at her record store is more than she thought it would be. Unfortunately, when things go wrong, Darcy needs to get on the trail of a murderer to prove she is not the killer. I am off to see what other work JC has to offer.

If you enjoyed the story of Cinderella you will also enjoy this retelling set in the 1800s. Our main character, Eleanor Banneker, has been under a spell for the better part of a decade that was cast by her stepmother. She has been desperately wishing for someone to help her, but all seemed helpless until her childhood friend Benjamin Grimm rekindles their friendship. He seems to be the only one immune to the curse as even her own father has been unable to recognize her all these years. Ben has come just in time it seems, but time is almost out. They have until midnight to break the curse or Eleanor and her father will be bound to their current roles for the rest of their lives. Will they be at to break the curse in time? I enjoyed this take on the retelling of a classic tale. I’m unsure if the author purposely did so, but I’d like to think that perhaps the last name of the character Benjamin is a nod to the brothers Grimm? Whether that is the case or not this was still an enjoyable book and I do hope to read more books by this author.

I have been anxiously awaiting this next book in the Hidden Valley Elite Book Series, and Isla Vaughn has definitely made it worth the wait! Riley and Cole are at each other’s throats right from the beginning, they picked up right where they left off in the last book. It’s like it when you’re watching an amazing movie and they end right in the middle of a good part, cliffhanger!!! Well let me tell you, do not wait to jump back in because the fireworks are going to continue to go off with Cole and Riley! Cole has decided to pass off his feelings for Riley by convincing himself he’s not interested in her, but we all know that’s not true at all, now is it…Riley overhears the incriminating conversation and decides it’s game on! Who will win the battle of love and hate, Cole or Riley? Will Cole figure out who Riley and her Mom are and what they’re up to or will Riley be able to distract him from finding anything out? I am so excited to read the next book and see who will be the focus, will we continue with Cole and Riley or move on to one of the other characters? Punk is the sixth book in the Popov Bratva series by Leslie Georgeson. As I have mentioned before, I really love this series, which just seems to get better and better with every new instalment. This is a stellar Bratva romance with an age gap OWYM, tension, chemistry, suspense, dramatic developments, family, secrets, sizzle, emotion, and much more. I didn’t expect to love this book as much as I did, as I’m not always a fan of reverse age gaps as I am often left feeling disappointed- but having said that, Ms. Georgeson doesn’t disappoint here crafting wonderful characters who were interesting and endearing. I really loved Efrem and Miranda- they drew me into their story and had me invested right from the get-go. I loved the secret identity element as it added tension and intrigue to the whole story. Add in danger, dramatic developments, twists and turns, action, sizzle, and all the other clever touches- and it becomes a riveting read. This could be read as a standalone, but I recommend reading the previous books before starting on this instalment, as the previous books introduce us to recurring characters, and other interesting and pertinent information- as well as being fantastic stories in their own rights. This is my first book by this author,and after the way this one ended, I definitely need the second one. The author sucks you right in with Maren and Kane’s story, and it’s so packed with adventure and tenacity, that I couldn’t help but root for Maren every step of the way. It’s a great start to a new fantasy series, and I’ll be on pins and needles until I get to read the next one. I’m so excited to see where First Queen takes Maren and Kane’s story. Highly Recommend!!!

What Loretta’s Katydid Did was a cute, yet educational book. I read it with my seven year old, and he was able to read most of it himself. I enjoy this author, and her choice of illustrators. The book is very colorful and fun. After we finished the book, we looked up the words we learned. We looked up what aphids and katydid are, and what they look like. We watched a video to listen to what they sounded like (we don’t agree the katydid/katydidnt sound the author used). We discussed how it sounded like a cricket but looks like a grasshopper, and which family they fit in. I like that the book is educational, but fun.

I’m in love with this book, these characters and knowing there will more books coming so I can visit my friends. I found myself reading when I should have been working, sleeping and cooking and would lose myself in the story
Elle is a remarkable and strong woman which everyone but she sees. She finds her way home after way too long, she felt like a stranger at first but then remembers the joys of living in the small town she grew up in and is able to renew old friendships and even develop new ones.
She rebuilds her life and several other things after several years of neglect and it’s inspiring. Her story isn’t an unfamiliar one, but it can never be told too much.
As important as Blake is to the story I feel like I need to focus on Elle. She definitely deserves the spotlight. Looking forward to catching up with her soon.

Fighting her growing feelings for Kane she succumbs and becomes a pawn in a princess game but what game does this princess play? What is she wanting to gain? Just the kingdom ? This is the first book I have read by Liza Snow, the unique cover and one word title drawing me in with curiosity. The synopsis brings mystery into the mix. Told from the dual perspectives of Cassandra and Chandler, this book will take you on a journey you didn’t know you were looking for. Cassandra Blackstone, twenty-five-year-old female that has idolized the silk aerialist Chandler Moreau for half her life. Finally given the opportunity to audition at his family’s world class institute for circus acts she takes it. I thought this book was so super cute! It was a fast read and had a lot of twists and turns that I didn’t expect. I loved that there were both healthy and unhealthy characters in this story, I felt it was a really realistic way of portraying the world and dating culture today.
I really enjoy the way that this was narrated as well, it’s nice to know what all the characters are thinking but not have to read that chapter by chapter. It seems like that is the direction a lot of authors are going in today and I was pleased that that this book was NOT like that.
I would recommend this book to anyone who was looking for a quick romance but also likes to be kept on their toes!

Savage Truth is book two in Isla Vaughn’s Hidden Valley Elite series. I recommend starting from book one, or better yet, the prequel as these books are meant to be read in order and the sequel offers great insight. I was really excited to pick up this book and delve more into Riley and Cole.. I felt like their story had been a dark and twisty rollercoaster ride and the romantic suspense had gotten to a point where I wanted and needed closure. I enjoyed that the first book ended with a cliffhanger leaving readers to pick up where we had left off, leading to more suspense and anticipation. It has been a long time since I read a series that wasn’t a stand alone, so I missed that feeling of needing more. This series has brought that so far.. I am happy to have had lingering questions answered and do feel like this is a series worth reading. In addition to a unique storyline with interesting characters, I simply liked how the story is told by both character’s perspectives. I am looking forward to reading more from Isla Vaughn.

Cabin Eight by Susan Specht Oram is the third in the Millersville series, but could be read as a stand alone. After reading both Shore Lodge and The Thieves before reading this, I do suggest that you read the other two, they are all must reads. There is absolutely no loss of momentum with the thrills, as sometimes happens in series. The twists kept on coming just as the previous two books. The world that is built by Susan Specht Oram is one to easily get lost in. I read this book and the two previous books within a week, I couldn’t put them down.

Kudos to the author! I found this tale to be witty, and it gave me pause as I reflected on some of my own poor choices. Is this a psychological thriller? Is it a redemption story? Journey along with the protagonist as she learns that it’s not all about her.

5 Star’s Cabin Eight (The Millersville Series Book 3) by Susan Specht Oram
Cabin Eight is the third and final book in The Millersville Series and is a Psychological Thriller that will have you turning the pages while on the edge of your seat trying to figure out what is going to happen next. I truly enjoyed this book and it definitely left me with questions. This author is fairly new to me and I must say this one is my favorite yet. Her style of writing is intense and suspenseful and packed with just the right amount of action and drama. Her characters are developed and intense and relatable. The twists and turns had me tied up just when I thought I had it figured out something totally different happened. This can be read as a standalone but I recommend reading this series in order. You get to know the characters and you get a better understanding of what is going on. I highly recommend reading this book to find out what Miranda is up to . I look forward to seeing what this author brings us next.

Although this is book 2 in the Millersville series, it could easily be read as a stand alone, but you would be missing out on the amazing first book Shore Lodge which is also a must read.
This book may have been even more suspenseful than the previous, which I wasn’t sure was possible. Susan Specht Oram really has a talent for psychological thrillers. Once again I was immediately transported into the book.
Whether you choose to read it as a stand alone or part of the series, you won’t regret it.

If you are a psychological thriller fan, you must read this one. Despite it’s almost 300 pages, it is a very quick read because you CAN’T put it down.
The details and writing is amazing, I was right there in the thick of it. I loved and hated the characters. I despised Dusty and I think that shows how well the writing is, because it came to a point where I truly despise a fictional character.
After reading this I jumped right into the next one.

A dark paranormal book that sucked me in from the beginning. René is hurting after his twin sister is murdered. He can’t seem to process the fact that she’s gone and doesn’t want to stop searching for the killer. He visits crime scenes where other women are found to see if any leads might help find the killer. I can feel the pain and loss René is experiencing since I’ve lost several family members in my lifetime. Belladonna has been hiding for a long time to keep herself safe. When bodies are left in her woods, she must act to save her home. When she sees René, he intrigues her enough that sh starts showing herself to him in dreams. What does she want to do with René? Will they ever find the killer and keep others safe? That my friends, you will figure out as you read along.
When Miranda finds herself trying to deal with her emotional and tragic past she finds herself having more tragedy to deal with. In trying to “find herself and move past her past” she finds herself at a resort in Millersville for a few days.
Little did she know this was a set up and she would be turned into an experiment. In having to deal with her past and her worst fears she finds herself trapped. Being trapped she discovers a whole secret operation going on that is very ethically wrong.
Can she be brave and conquer the fears and survive? Will she be able to help those that want to get out? You must read this story that will keep you guessing as to what will be thrown in her path next!
I have quickly come to love this author and this story is one that did not disappoint in keeping me engaged and guessing! Can’t wait to read more from this author!

REIGN: The Rise of the Lich: The Silver Blood Knight by Carol McKibben is the second book in the series and it is a great vampire paranormal.
They are the only hope for Italy. All of Italy is in danger of being destroyed, and James, God’s chosen knight, a hybrid vampire wolf, a young wizard, and a few related Lycans are the only thing standing in the way.
Matisse, the corrupt politician, has spent years changing into a Lich. He now leads hordes of undead warriors across Italy, determined to destroy every living being in his way since he has the power to resurrect the dead.
Other mythological predators emerge with the intention of obliterating James and his comrades as Heaven’s small band battles to resist the Lich and his wicked warriors.
Every page was exciting and I couldn’t wait to see what would happen. It is a unique paranormal duology. The story brings passion into your life. I couldn’t put the book down. I had to binge-read the series.

Jasmine and her friend Phil are trying to get away with stealing a good amount of money from Jasmines boss. All so she can help her sick father with treatment. However they get robbed by a pair of thieves who have a little more experience under their belts!
This story is full of shenanigan’s from each pair, Jas and Phil, Bets and Zerk, Dan and Robbie. When Bets and Zerk are hiding in plain sight and don’t expect to be found. Then the original thieves outsmart them and show up!
You must read to find out if the original pair of thieves are able to steal their money back and what happens to each pair. I loved this story and found it comical at times even remarking out loud how dumb they were being!

The second of the Millersville series, it can be read as a stand alone (it is set in same location but uses different characters).
Loved how the book is told in two different, intertwined stories (Jas who steals money to help her ailing father, and the thieves that “one-up” the original robbers). – The plot twists and turns, alternating narrators almost every chapter, that lead the stories to one concise conclusion. As far as morality, I enjoyed how the author makes you question what (if anything) is worth stealing for. I didn’t enjoy this book as much as Shore Lodge, but it is still a worthwhile read because of the oddities of the characters and situations the author lands Jas in.

The Innovator (WaterFyre Rising Book 3) by Nadia Han. This series has been so much fun, full of spice, romance and mystery. This is Grayson and Natalie’s story. Natalie is in town to find out why her father died and why he left her a building called The Prism. Grayson need The Prism building for his project at work and work is what Grayson does, non stop. He’s build a wall around his heart and emotions because of a previous relationship/heartbreak and he’s not about to let that happen again. When he meets Natalie he is instantly attracted to her but she pushes all his buttons too and not the good ones. Natalie finds Grayson very irritating but knows that he may have information about her father and this building he’s left her. The more time they spend together the harder it is to not succumb to their attraction to each other. When Natalie’s ex comes in to town to harm her Grayson is the first one to stand up for her and protect her. Will these two finally figure out they need to be together and will Natalie find out the secrets of her fathers death? This is a turn the pages late in the night book that I loved. Do yourself a favor and pick up this series and start reading!
