Savage Truth is the 2nd book in the Hidden Valley Elite series. I am obsessed with this series, and am so glad to see there are 8 books planned. This book cannot/should not be read without reading the previous books. This book picks up where the previous book leftoff. It almost could be the same book, just the next chapter. There is no draw in or recap. This book had a lot of stuff going on and kept me on the edge of my seat, I didn’t want to put it down. Stupid work and kids, lol. Cole and Riley still have their love hate relationship going on. Riley finally gets the chance at a somewhat normal life, and is able to join the high school swim team. But, her joining is a risk, and we get a little more information on her and her mom’s background. We learn a little more about her dad, and Uncle Ronan. I love all the characters of this story, and am glad to see them all develop a little more. I look forward to the next book, and recommend this book highly!

This is a new kind of Cinderella story. There is an evil stepmother, and a nearly-comatose father. There is a step-sister (only one, though), but she seems kind of …nice? There are rats, and there is a ball. The author has thoroughly captivated my attention, and now I can’t wait to read more of her works! The characters in this story- the somewhat familiar ones, as the unique ones- have run away with the storyline, and readers will enjoy being dragged along for this!

A slow burn romance with not your ordinary MC characters that you get in most other reads. It was a quick, but good read. I did not want to put it down. I needed to know what would happen next for Ava. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and cannot wait to pick up the next book in the series.
It focuses on the relationship between Reaper and Ava. Reaper is the President of the War Brothers MC. Ava’s sister Elena is getting married to one of the MC members, Axle. It is at this wedding that the pair have a brief encounter. It is not until a year later when Ava is brought to the clubhouse covered in bruises by her husband that she is running from that the pair meet again. Already let go once Reaper won’t let that happen again.

Another really sweet romance from this author! I don’t want to say too much for fear of spoiling anything, but it was an enjoyable read from start to finish. I loved getting to see Chris get his happy ending after all. We even still got to see someone our favorite characters from the previous books in the series too.

This one wrapped up really nicely. Our characters get a happy ending after the problems that Riley and her mother are running from come to a head. Though, at times, the story felt a little disjointed. Just needed a little more time to flesh out the Mafia backstory.

This series has been extremely well written and I have enjoyed all three stories. This one follows Chris Sullens. He owns and develops small resorts in some of the most beautiful areas in the world. He finds himself on a small island in order to help Rae, his best friend’s new wife, when she finds out some interesting family news. I like that this book circles back to some of the reasons Rae is untrusting in book one. Chris is flashy and comes from money, but he really wants to move away from that and loves his Eve Collections resorts that he created. When he arrives on the island he is instantly interested in Rowan. She is a red headed, independent spitfire who is running the family inn. Not everything has been easy for her after her father dies and drops a bomb on her and her brother. Chris shows up shortly before they are supposed to throw a family wedding and for some reason offers to help her. He has worked every part of the family business and tries to help where needed. He is there to help Rowan and they find themselves in some unexpected and strange occurrences. I loved the setting of this book so much and can imagine the small island feel, the inn and all the land, and the characters who live on the island too. I enjoy when an author writes books based on different characters but with overlapping stories so I can still read about the other characters.

Reaper is the first book of the War Brothers MC series. I will say that this dark MC romance book could be triggering to those who are affected by themes of domestic violence as this is portrayed in this book. There is also plenty of suspense, violence and romance.
The author had a wonderful style of writing – it flowed well, and they were able to creative vivid imagery with the descriptive language used. I enjoyed the way on which the author portrayed the motorcycle club loyalties and the culture there is within the group. There is of course illegal activity taking place, but the brotherhood and sense of family is clear in their writing. It is a lot bigger than just criminals running around on motorbikes. There’s more to the club and the characters involved than you may have originally thought. Another aspect I thought was written well was the portrayal of the domestic violence. The dangers that are faced and the manipulation that goes with it which I think is often forgotten in literature. The effects had on the character and how this bleeds into other aspects of their life was done so well.
I absolutely loved Reaper and Ava – they are both incredibly strong characters fighting to overcome their individual traumas and finding themselves (and each other). I loved how they supported each other and made each other stronger for it. (And honestly, who wouldn’t want their own Reaper?!) I hope to get to know more about other characters in the book as the series progresses and seeing how they evolve and develop in their own books.
It was a brilliant first book to get roped into and I look forward to being able to get my hands on the next book!

I am becoming such a huge fan of Isla Vaughn’s! This is the second book in the series, but concludes Cole & Riley’s Duet.
It is an absolutely amazing High School bully romance! The author definitely knows how to keep you on your toes!
I read this book in one sitting, I couldn’t wait to devour it after reading the first book. The dynamic between Riley & Cole is so intriguing, it is a “will they-won’t they” type of vibe. Their personalities alone are spectacular and I love that we get to see inside of both of their inner thoughts. It shows why they feel and act the way they do during circumstances.
My favorite part of this book is when they both are both terrified if rejection but they decide to take the leap anyway.
Lots of secondary plots Interconnected and I love that it adds more to the story than just a boy meets girl, girl hates guy type of scene.
Will definitely read more to come from Isla Vaughn and this series.

I was so excited to read about the Alpha men in a MC protecting a woman who needs it. This had so much potential but fell flat for me. It all felt rushed and the romance made no sense and lacked chemistry. I cant tell you one reason why these two fell for each other than lust. He sees her once and its love at first sight (which i didnt buy) and then she takes a while to come around and open up but i just did not get their relationship. He does the same things her ex did but under the name of protecting her. I will say he clearly had better intentions than her ex but i was longing for the romance between them and i got nothing. I enjoyed the side characters although it did feel like this should not have been the first book in the series. There were a lot of people, relationships and dynamics referenced as if we should know what the story was and I just felt a little lost. I would have liked more back story on the couple who get married in the beginning of the book who is the sister of the main character and close friend and MC member of the male main character. I also did not feel the sisterly love between the two sisters it felt awkward and like they hadnt really had a relationship until now which left me confused. I did enjoy the climax and drama at the end but that still did not give this story what i needed to fully enjoy it. Hoping the rest of the books are longer and with more details of the important things.

This book was just as good as the first and I loved getting to know the characters even more. The story line in book two focuses on Brandon and Callie. We get to know Brandon in book one as the protective best friend to Rae and band mate to Curtis. Brandon is the front man in a rock band and also paints in his free time. He really wants to find the love of his life and settle down, but he feels that person may have already slipped away. Callie works in art and runs into Brandon while they are both visiting Morocco. Callie lives in Paris and we hear snippets of her life in book one because she is Curtis’s sister and long time friend of Brandon. Brandon has loved Callie since they were kids so he goes to Paris for a visit. Callie is still troubled from her past and an abusive relationship. Brandon wants to figure out how to still be in a rock band and live on different continents, he wants to hold onto Callie and get another chance at being happy. Callie is haunted by her past and is having a hard time letting anyone, including Brandon, into her life and her heart. The book was so good. It did have abuse and difficult situations, but it was very well written and I needed to know what was going to happen. This is a hopeful and romantic book with a little steamy romance too. I loved it and can’t wait for book three!

This book was a page turner! I loved the enemies to lovers story line and I really enjoyed getting to know the characters. Rae is a single and very independent woman who writes a travel blog. She is asked to pick up some work for a friend because the original writer couldn’t make it. Rae shows up to an amazing home in Georgia and she meets the homeowner, Dean. Dean was left at the altar a few years prior and he has a lot of feelings and baggage that he just pushes down and he swears off women and dating.. Dean’s sister is the one who set up the magazine article because she designed the house and he is rarely there. Rae and Dean do not get off on the right foot and after a few days they say their goodbyes. After the article is written, Dean reaches out to give his thanks but Rae doesn’t want to have anything to do with dating or even dinner with Dean. While attending a party where her best friend’s band is playing, she runs into Dean again, after all his company owns the contract for Brandon’s band. Dean decides he needs to spend time with Rae to see if whatever is happening or whatever they are feeling will be worked out and they can move on. They walk the park, they spend time eating and talking, and enjoying each other’s company. Rae says they are friends but Dean starts to feel more and becomes very jealous of the friendship that she has with Brandon. I loved getting to know the characters and would like to know even more about their pasts. I liked the story line that kept me turning the pages. I can’t wait to start the next book!

Cabin Eight (The Millersville Series Book 3) by Susan Specht Oram. I LOVE this series and each book I read I think its my favorite. This one I flew thru and didn’t want it to be over. Its a psychological thriller which is my favorite genre but this author really knows how to write! This is the story of Miranda Diggs who is a house cleaner and due to a tragic mistake she sets a fire to a motel in the mountains while working. To try to get her mind off of the tragedy she accepts an invitation to stay at a remote resort. Hoping to get her mind straight and get back to her present life and quit living in the past she arrives at the resort with a clear mind only to find her worst nightmare. While on a walk she can’t keep from investigating a old run down barn but when she gets inside the door closes behind her and locks! Trying to find her way out she encounters dead end after dead end and horror after horror. This journey will test everything Miranda has. This book will have you keeping the lights on for a while. I read this book so fast and did not want to put it down. Do yourself a favor and read this series. You won’t be disappointed.

Although it was considered a slow burn romance wise, SO MUCH happened throughout this book. I loved getting to know the men in the MC. Each of their personalities shown without overpowering the main characters. Ava is so incredibly strong even though she thinks she’s weak. The bravery she exemplifies and how she loves to take care of people who are important to her is amazing. Reaper is your typical biker, but I loved also seeing his soft side. The chemistry between the pair is so strong from the start. I loved it. I cannot wait to read book two when it comes out! Especially since it’s about the elusive member of the club!

She feared that her sorrow would engulf her. Jacklyn Stone is battling to maintain her composure. Still in shock at her husband’s passing, the grieving widow sees her usually effectively managing her garden store devolving into chaos. She goes to the isolated retreat when her son and daughter advise a quick getaway to hasten her recovery, only to find she can’t unwind there.
Jacklyn struggles to maintain her mental sanity as she feels her skin crawl as the retreat reveals its actual nature as a psychiatric clinic. I don’t know why I don’t read more of this type of book because I always end up really enjoying them. Reaper was definitely one of the great ones, I couldn’t put it down. It devoured me heart and soul. I finished it in two days, but found myself wishing that I had taken my time, or that the book had been longer. Like a few other reviewers mentioned there weren’t a lot of chapters from Reapers point of view and I would have loved to hear more from him. I don’t think anything was taken from the story because we didn’t though. Ava’s chapters were fully threshed out, built the scenes, the characters were well described, and contained all the information needed to further the story as the book was mostly centered on her. Reaper did include some sensitive topics like Domestic Violence, PTSD, Violence, and a gun battle, plus a scene concerning an animals welfare (Ava saves him and he’s ok after the other incident) it was all handled very tastefully. Reaper and all the other men in the club were sensitive, protective, and their alpha male personalities was just what Ava needed to feel safe and comfortable enough to come back to herself. I loved Ward’s writing and her ability to spin a story. I definitely see myself reading more from her including this series with book 2 about Bomber.

This is the first book in the Legacy Of Riverfall series and I’m so excited to see what follows. I was captivated by this story from the start and I read it in on sitting. This is a fantasy adventure which has everything, action, tension, danger, Romance, fae’s and mystical beings. All these elements create a very unique story. Maren has always dreamed of leaving her little village. To go and experience what else is out there but with so many unknown dangers and with her sister ill with a mystical illness Maren has no choice but to stay. When the village is attacked, the villagers run to the Caverns to protect themselves, however Maren and another prisoner Kane are left outside. Could this be the adventure that Maren had always wanted? When Kane asked Maren to help him find something he’s missing she is a bit reluctant at first. I mean she doesn’t know him, can he even be trusted? When Kane offers to take her to a magical plant which will cure her sister in return for her help Maren knows she has to just go for her sisters sake. What follows is an adventure as these strangers work together to get what they both want. But the question is can Kane be trusted or did he make this magical plant up just to get Maren’s help? Also will the chance of adventure and a way of leaving her village be as amazing as Maren imagined or will she wish she was back and save in her little secure village surrounded with other people she has known all her life. And when secrets about Maren start to come to light it seems impossible to believe. How can she, a simple healer but the one person to save the mainlands? That’s surely not right, is it?

This is an author that I have enjoyed reading from the first book I picked up by her. I enjoy her writing skills and her ability to pull me into her stories with ease. This book is no different. This is a young adult story about Cecily and how she believes she has it all. A new job, Andrew and working with charities but now the spotlight is on her and some are just waiting to watch her fall. What happens with Cecily you don’t want to miss. I enjoy her character and what she brings to the story. She is a strong character that has determination and just wants to be happy. There is great growth with her and the plot which made the story easy and entertaining to read. I found this story to be fast paced and hard to put down. It is a great story that I highly recommend.

This is a cute children’s book. It is well written and will keep any child engaged throughout. This is about Meg and how she is blind. Her big sister shows her how important senses are at night. A story that will show you diversity and has a learning component as well. The pictures are bright, colorful and interactive for children. This is a great book for any child that likes to read fun books. I highly recommend this book.

I thought this book had everything needed to be a good read. There was the long lost sibling no one knew about, the will that showed the property should Be spilt between the siblings Including the new one they didn’t even know about. The unexpected attraction between Rowan and Chris. Lots of suspense!!! I thought this book was perfectly written. Rowan is such a strong character but with Chris by her side to protect her and help her, she is unstoppable. At first Chris seemed to want to get in, see the facts and then get out but he vowed to stay and help and he did just that.

I was a little disappointed with this one. It was ok but I found it hard to follow sometimes. It’s about Amy who is living in the human world after fleeing the magical world, she is hiding from a vengeful leader. She learns to hide her true self in the human world until her sister is kidnapped and an assassin is sent after her. How can she fight someone who burnt her home to the ground? Build an army of course. I found it hard to follow with the “they” pronouns as sometimes Amy would be talking to someone then it would say “they walked here” or “they walked into a room” so was that Amy who walked there or everyone she was talking to? I won’t be reading book 2.

This is another excellent addition to this series, that can be read as a stand alone, but I doubt that you will want to once you get started.
When Rowan and her brother Kieran lose their father and learn of a half-sister all at the same time, they are not sure what to think or do. Rowan and her father were working on restoring their family inn, located in Vinalhaven, Maine, to its former glory, when her dad unexpectedly has a heart attack and passes away, leaving Rowan with a final message to find her sister, Rae. As Rowan and Kieran try to finish the work they had already started on the inn, as well as the farm attached to the inn, they try to find Rae, as the three siblings have been given the property to run together, and they all three have to be a part of it. Rae, however, is unable or unwilling to just suddenly become a part of what is going on, so her friend Chris decides to go check things out for her first. Rae is a well known travel blogger and her husband is part of a popular band, and they are worried that the siblings only want to find them for their investment abilities. Chris Sullens shows up without warning, but does explain to the siblings why he is there. Chris’ family owns a large, well known hotel chain, and Chris, himself, owns and runs a smaller hotel chain of destination based hotels. Chris is able to help Rowan to formulate more ideas of how to help her family’s inn come back, while getting it back up and running for a family wedding. When the pair unexpectedly find themselves to be fake engaged, in an effort to ward of unwanted advances of a suitor for Rowan and unwanted criticism from town elders who think they have the right to run the island and view it as theirs to control, the pair discover that they are good together – in more ways than one.
