This was a great 5 star read. I continue to be pulled into this series, the author does a great job with her writing. I was excited to get the rest of Skylar and Damon’s story. All of the characters added a great element to the story. I had a love-hate relationship with some of them. We get so much in this book, it felt like there was more than one story going on. I will warn there is some content that may be triggers for some. The darker the better for me. My emotions were all over the place, we get several twists and turns. I enjoyed this story. Ryan and Christy are both lovable characters that you want to root for. His best friend, and brother, Maddux…and her best friend Brooks…are great characters as well that play a big part throughout the story. And, they seem to be making some sparks of their own! Overall, I enjoyed the story. This is the first that I have read in the series, and it was easy to read as a standalone.

This is the first book by the author that I’ve read. I did not read The Coin which is the first book of the series. I was able to follow the story fairly quickly as the author does a wonderful job of world building which helps combine the characters who are located in different countries. Right from where the Prologue starts, I could almost feel the adrenaline rush as Gabriela is doing her best to drive while realizing her breaks are either broken or have been tampered with. The action, suspense, romance, and everything about this book moved the story along and I enjoyed reading it. I think it would be nice to read The Coin.

I love the buckeye falls series so much! I’ve loved every book so far so I just knew I’d love this one! And honestly, I think this one is my absolute favorite so far! Everyone has marital issues sometimes so this second chance romance book, felt personal. I could really relate to this! And I love the characters with my whole heart! I feel like we’re friends and I love when a book can captivate me like that. Highly recommend! The books in this series are standalone but I do highly encourage you to read them all. They’re all so good!

Beautiful story that will stay with me for a long time. This story of Simon and Tessa….giving me all the feels of romance, opposites attract, pure raw emotion, drama, travel, tragedy and secrets. I am so glad I read this book, it was truly wonderful and hard to put down.
Tessa Talman’s life is taking a whirlwind as a new and upcoming author, never expecting her huge success taking her to destinations that are truly breathless. I absolutely LOVED this story. It is the sweetest small town romance. I love the town and the description of each of the residents. Especially the small town busybody who really kept me laughing throughout the story. She is such a small part but the parts that she was brought up really just made me laugh. I loved Annie as a character and watching her develop was absolutely amazing, her relationship with her siblings really was something that I loved. I loved how Mitch is with his sisters as well. Watching her overcome the trauma she has from her ex was really a character arc that was so relatable. Craig is an amazing character who had the most development and growth throughout the story. I absolutely loved their development as a couple. I highly recommend this book and this series. The author creates a wonderful small town world that makes me consider moving to Montana to find this small town life.

This is an intriguing mystery story that is full of twists and turns all the way to the end. I was pulled in to the story from the moment I started reading. Watching everything unfold, I had to know how it was all going to turn out. I thought the way the author built up the story was brilliant. Everything seemed to be an extra layer, from the characters to the story line. I enjoyed unpicking it all through to the conclusion. This is still an author I am only relatively familiar with but I am becoming increasingly impressed with. Each book I enjoy with ease and look forward to reading more. This is a well crafted and interesting story that is well worth the read.
When Annie moves to Montana after the death of her parents and opens a Bed and Breakfast she tries everything to bring in guests but its just not happening for her. Annie’s brother and sister are currently living with her at the B&B but once they move out Annie needs to figure out how she won’t lose the business. This was the second book in the series, and the second book I’ve read by this author. This one was just as good if not better than the first. There were lots of emotions jumping off the pages. You got to feel the chemistry between Zara and Noah, like you were there with them. I was hooked from the first chapter. I can’t see what happens in book 3.
This was a great book. I highly recommend reading the other books in the series before this one because they all flow together.
This book focuses on the stories of Skylar and Damon. Skylar and Damon have a lot of history together and not all of it has always been pleasant. Damon is a stubborn guy and with his family connections and being one of the top guys at school makes life easier yet harder for him at the same time. He also is used to getting what he wants when he wants it.
Skylar is a girl who has one close friend that has been around most of her life. She would do anything for her friend and her friend’s happiness. Even if that means sacrificing her own happiness. She is not an open book and holds a lot of secrets that are slowly going to come to light.
What will happen when Damon is told he can’t have what he wants? What happens when the secrets of the past come up to haunt Skylar? Can Skylar make her friend happy and get what she wants as well? Do opposites really attract?

This book is so delightful and heart-warming! As a former teacher, I can confirm that it takes a big heart to teach kids and help them grow. The illustrations are colorful and interesting and definitely attention-grabbing. It is fun to read aloud and obviously fun to hear read aloud because my little asked for it several times again. I would recommend this book to any little, big, or current or former teacher, especially with school starting again soon (and even afterwards). I think anyone who reads this will be able to identify the teachers that they remember within these pages. 5 stars!

A Teacher’s Heart by Melissa Lavi. I loved this sweet book and so did my 5 year old nephew who is going into kindergarten. Its basically telling kids that all teachers are good no matter that they may look different, wear different clothes, have different colored hair and even teach different but hey all have a very big heart. Teachers go into teaching because they love kids no other reason. This would make a great gift especially for kids about to enter kindergarten or even preschool. Such pretty pictures as well. Great story and pictures, awesome for a gift.
Fetching Dreams by Mary Bleckwehl. This is probably one of the very best books I’ve read this year. I loved it. Its about 2 young 12 year olds who become pen pals and learn about their very different lives. The live totally different lives because Neyah lives in Kenya, Africa and who struggles everyday with harsh living conditions. Abby lives in Minnesota and has all the luxuries in life and doesn’t understand all the struggles that Neyah has. Abby doesn’t understand not having running water or having to miss school to take care of your siblings. Neyah is very jealous of Abby until she realizes that Abby has her struggles to, Abby has a brain tumor. Working together they try to get water for Neyah’s village and learn that not everyone’s lives are as they seem. Most people have trouble it just may be different than yours. Amazing book with a great lesson!

A Way Out (Rock Star Book 2) by Tami Lund. This is such a good contemporary romance. Maria has ended up in a dead end marriage all because she thought she would make her mom happy by marrying the “right” guy! Deciding to take charge of her life she divorces him and takes off for LA where her rock star sister is. What she doesn’t know is her sister Holly is in Missouri for a surprise wedding and Maria is supposed to be there. When Maria gets to Holly’s LA house she finds a incredibly hot rocker (Oz) there but he offers to let her stay too. As they spend time together they begin to have feelings for one another and Oz feels incredibly protective toward her and her daughter. Will they be able to make something work out or will the hurts of their past mess it all up. I loved watching Maria become a strong independent woman! Such a fun read!

This book kept me on edge trying to figure out who was behind the darkness that seemed to follow the lead character and the motive behind it. Was it coincidental or orchestrated? With each new twist and turn, my mind was going wild with possibilities, but it did not land on the actual culprit, so kudos to the author for keeping this reader on the hook the entire time. It’s a dark and haunted story, but fast paced and gripping. I also kind of hated the main character, even if I sometimes felt sorry for him, which caused some conflict for me. Well done!
Suspense thriller 3.5 stars This is the second book in the Coin/Hours Duology but the first I have read from this author. I didn’t feel like I had missed too much as the author cleverly interwove important details throughout the story. There’s a lot within the pages and I especially liked the mystery. This will appeal to a wide audience. Recommend.

A Way Out was a hard book for me to get into. I’m not sure if it was because of the story line or just an off day of reading. Nonetheless, I did finish it and would recommend it to anyone wanting to read it. The story is full of drama and chemistry. Maria and Oz run a bumpy first meeting and have that instant connection but it’s a first meeting so it can’t be anything else, right?

I did not realize this book was a second in the series till I got further into the book and realized the details were missing because I was missing the first book, The Coin. The Book of Hours was a mystery with suspense. The story is told from Gabriella’s point of view. The story is full of great imagery and will give you strong feelings about all the characters involved. It did take me a bit longer to read and get into than I assumed but it is worth the read.

Rock star, Single dad, hard working, hot as all, this is the perfect man for this story. There is instant attraction between Maria and Oz. This is the 2nd book in the series but the first I have read and I was not lost or confused in any way. I am sure there is overlap in the characters but that is ok. I really enjoyed the pace and character development throughout. Watching Maria step up and take over certain aspects was refreshing. Looking forward to reading the rest of the series.

Isla Vaughn does it again with Brutal Nights (Hidden Valley Elite #4), I could not wait to get my hands on this book, and let me tell you it was so worth the wait!!! I loved continuing the story of Damon and Skylar’s romance. These characters are so well written, you just feel like you’re right there watching everything unfold, hoping that everything works out. The setting has stayed the same throughout every single book in this series, it’s amazing how much I feel like I’m a part of the story. There are so many surprises and twists that I did not see coming, that I was on the edge of my seat most of the time, cheering on Damon and hoping that for once he could get and keep the girl. You do not want to miss this exciting story in this series, it just keeps progressing, bringing back all of the old characters that we know and love from the entire series. I cannot wait to start reading the next book in the series, it’s so hard waiting, this series is one of my favorites! Phoebe and Laurent’s story is a second chance trope. I really loved Laurent. I did feel the beginning when they met for first time in several years was rushed. I would have liked more build up to that crucial moment. Great secondary characters who I want to know more about. Beautiful world the author created. Overall, it’s a great story of second chances, forgiveness, and a love that didn’t end.

Did I mention he is good with kids? He is patient with the teens and the toddlers. He is the next great heartthrob!! Going to catch up with the rest of the band now!! I am hooked. I loved this book! Tessa and Simon meet on an airplane when she is standing on his seat putting her purse away. They don’t get to talk as the middle seat person sits down, but they both sneak peeks at each other. Tessa is an author and is on tour for her new book that made a big splash. Simon is a scientist and has some amazing discoveries. They meet again at a conference where she is doing a book signing and he is speaking. Tessa and Simon start to have feelings and much of the book is the two of them meeting in different places around the world. I love to travel so I loved reading about all of the places that they visit. Tessa doesn’t like to make commitments and Simon has some strong feelings for her. They maneuver through their travels, their work, and their lives. There are twists and turns and a lot of emotions that happen throughout the book. I was cheering for them and then they separated but we don’t know why. I couldn’t stop reading and needed to know what happened to them. I hope the author comes out with more!

Twists and turns that keep you guessing. This is the second book I have read by the incredible Nadija Mujagic. Once again, I am kept on the edge of my seat trying to guess what direction the story will take but left guessing until the end. Mitch Wegner is a well-respected college professor and researcher at a small Vermont campus. Married for many years, his wife seems to finally be ready for the next step, kids, only the twists leave him angry and confused where the woman he married went. The first chapter has you feeling like you know what the big finale of the book will be. Twists and turns keep you engaged as you watch Mitch’s marriage and career fall apart. The passing of a second student in less than a year causes ramifications for all moving forward. Only this time it is linked to a poor grade leading to a grading inflation that Mitch strongly disagrees with. Being blamed for the student taking his own life, Mitch feels something more sinister is at play. Not everything is adding up, a diary implicating that the student wanted the “professor in a ditch” seems the opposite of taking his own life. His students begin lashing out at him, with negative hurtful statements. Determined to keep the rumors and campus situation from his wife, more distance forms between them and more questions form as to what happened with them. Constantly feels as if he is being watched when seemingly alone. Without realization Mitch seems to be a living embodiment of his own research, “the effects of childhood post traumatic disorder and how it affects decision making in dire situations. Multiple flashbacks give insight into the trauma Mitch endured at age fourteen that caused him to lose memory of his middle school years. Only now everything is coming back like a shadow haunting his every action. Can Mitch save his career and his marriage? Is he being framed for giving a student a bad grade? The sheer depth of the author’s ability to give you question after question and never slipping until she is ready for the grand review builds up the thrill. When the reveal finally happens, you’re left in shock remembering the little queues sprinkled throughout that gave hints but never enough to know for certainty how it would end. Nadija Mujagic has become my go-to for an in-depth psychological thriller that gives nothing away until the perfect moment. Can’t wait to read more of her amazing work.
