Book four in an eight part series is here and it was another good read. Damon and Skylar are still dancing around one another, but the attraction is too intense to ignore. Skylar finds out that her father, who has been in prison, is set to be released and he wants revenge. Damon, understanding what is about to happen from the experience with Riley and her mom, asks the one person he truly loathes for help. Will Damon be able to save Skylar in time? Each book in the series is good on its own, but to get a better background you should read them in order. Damon has always had to be tough and act like he didn’t care, he is your typical bad boy. I felt like he matured a lot over these last two books and we finally got to see that vulnerable side we have all been waiting for. This is my first book by this author which I enjoyed and look forward to reading more in the future. I found this book to be well written and hard to put down. An engaging story about Logan and his trip into the dark world of abuse, violence and a twelve year old that is in need of saving. I enjoyed Logan’s character and what his character brought to the story. This is a fast paced, engaging story that has twists and turns that are like no other. I enjoyed watching the growth of the plot as well as the characters throughout the story. I enjoyed reading this book and can’t wait to see what is next for this author. I highly recommend this book.

This is an author that I have enjoyed reading from the first book I picked up. I enjoy this author’s writing skills as well as their ability to keep me engaged throughout the story. This book is no different. It is a well written story with immortals, magical powers and a woman who has been hidden until she is able to join the vampire army. This is a story that has much going on but the author did a great job keeping me coming back for more. I enjoyed how the characters pulled me into their world with ease. They have great growth as well as growth with the plot. They also kept the story interesting and entertaining to read. This is a fast paced, hard to put down story that you don’t want to miss. I enjoyed reading this paranormal story. I highly recommend this book.

This is a nice addition to this series. We have seen the mayor and his wife in previous stories. They always come off superior and less than human. In here we see another side of them ad we fet a sneak peek behind their closed doors. Uncomfortable in their life together and each not know how but wishing they could reconnect and always too busy with their business side and kids.
The author does a good job of bringing me around to liking and even feeling sorry for each of these two. I feel the story itself does move slow and I found myself easily putting this down. I am saddened by that since this is a good series with wonderful characters.

Yay! Series continues I was soo happy to see that there was a fourth book in this series. I love the Shadow Chronicles and this was a brilliant addition. This has something for everyone – paranormal romance, action, magical beings, drama, danger, fated mates and more. As with the previous books writing draws you in and brings the reader into a world of vampires and lycans. This is Kimberly and Fabian’s story and follows on from Tasha and Levi’s story. I can not recommend this book and the whole series enough. Bring on Book 5!!

Engaging This was a new find for me and I really enjoyed the storyline and writing. The author delivered a story with interwoven themes that kept me totally focussed until the end. With YA romance, suspense, drama, mystery, great character building and some darker factors all twisted together I was enthralled. A very talented author that I am looking forward to reading more from. Highly recommend.

Bree Kraemer continues the Ground Rule series with Sacrifice Bunt and boy do things get pretty steamy! Zara Dewan and Noah Ashe, whom we met in the first Ground Rules book are the main characters in this hot romance! If you did not read book #1 you really should go back so you can pick up where we left off, including finding out how these two had initially met, it’s a tale you don’t want to miss that’s for sure! I was so excited to see that their story got to continue, I was rooting for Noah right from the start. This book has realistic situations that will have you reminiscing about your younger years and asking yourself oh gosh did I do that lol. I love the character-building that Bree Kraemer does, and the fact that she continues the story of each of our original character’s love stories! They each get to live their happily ever after with a lot of hot scenes that’ll have you gasping for air. You may want to have a fan close by, cause you’re going to be sweating after this read! Bree Kraemer’s Walk Off is a great romance read! I love the tale of a past love reconnected but with a twist. The characters are so realistic, and the situation that they are in is something that happens more often than we’d like to think about. The love that Kyle Dulanay has for Celia Mullen is so deep, I felt like I was a bystander watching their story unfold before my eyes. There are so many ups and downs, tears were definitely shed over the fear that Celia has in keeping her daughter close to her, as a mom this resonated with me so deeply. You’ll want to read this in one sitting, it was so hard to put down once I got started, I was invested in the lives of the characters and couldn’t wait to see what the outcome would be for our heroine Celia. Theresa Van Spankeren is one of my new favorite authors of all time when it comes to the paranormal! The War of Destiny series has me on the edge of my seat and wanting more! I am so excited for this series to continue! Theresa Van Spankeren outdid herself on this one, adding a new character, Lane, to our cast of characters that we’ve grown to love and seek retribution for. Fallen Soul Book #4 in the War of Destiny series will not disappoint in one bit! This book follows Lane as he is on the run from Valentino’s minions, on a quest to get home safely. He runs into a group of vampires who seem to live very differently than anything he’s ever known. Will the beloved group we’ve been following since Book #1 be the answer to Lane’s problems or will they be another obstacle in his path? Lane questions whether they be friends or foes. I am in awe at how amazing the War of Destiny series by Theresa Van Spankeren is getting. I did not think anything could stand up to Book #1 but this is now by far my favorite in the series so far! Juliana has betrayed her people and now must seek help from her old Ka-tet partner Matthew, but will he turn her away or will they be able to work together to figure out what is going on? Will these apparitions that Juliana continues to see ever make sense, why are they haunting her so? This series just continues to grow on me more and more as I progress in the series. I had no idea the characters could continue to develop any more than they already have, but as I delve into each new book they continue to grow in detail, and I understand them even more fully. Sacrifice bunt is about a three book series 😍 it can definitely embed read as a stand alone however I do recommend her first book.

Theresa Van Spankeren continues the War of Destiny series with Book #2 Pursuit into Darkness. I could not put this book down from the second I picked it up! Despite it being 70 years later for Juliana, for me no time had passed at all, we jump right back into the life and adventures of Juliana and all of her vampiric friends. There are so many well-developed characters that we fondly remember from War of Destiny Book #1 as well as some not-so-great new characters that we get to know more. I just love how full of action and excitement this series is, and love that it helps to fulfill my love of reading about vampires and the magic surrounding them. Lost Soul is the first book of the War of Destiny series by Theresa Van Spankeren. This book had an amazing development of characters, they were so realistic. Juliana, our main character is such a strong, vibrant young woman when we first meet her in the story, so full of life and hopes of a future filled with love. This is sadly not the future that she is meant to have, and it just broke my heart! The abuse that she endures amazes me, it is so realistic, you feel like you are right there with her, feeling her fears, her pains, and her grief over a life that she was not meant to have. This book is so intriguing, it primarily takes place in view of Juliana’s life and all that she must endure, when there is a knock at the window, as she answers the call her whole life will come to a fork in the road where she needs to decide which path she wants to take, remain in her personal hell, or accept the help of this stranger. The Finding is the first book in the Berrycreek Heights series and debut novel by A.M. Porto. This is a superb YA/NA romantic suspense with dark tones, tragedy, secrets, pain, heartache, danger, agendas, intrigue, emotion, twists, chemistry, violence, obsession, and more. There are some darker subject matters/themes through the story that might be triggering for some readers, so if you have triggers, please be aware of this before diving in… This book grabbed me right from the get-go, and when I was done, I went looking for more from the author, as I hadn’t read anything by them before…. and was even more impressed to discover that this is the authors debut novel. I wasn’t expecting something so engrossing and polished to be a debut novel. If this compelling book is anything to go by, I will definitely be keeping an eye out for more of A.M. The Sisterhood of Secrets is the fourth book in The Gods’ Scion series by Winnifred Tataw. As this follows from previous books I highly recommend reading the first three books before starting on this one- as there is a continuing storyline here with important information contained in the previous books that you should know in order to avoid feeling a little lost or confused in any way. This is a fantasy adventure with action, secrets, twists, emotion, sci-fi elements, gods, magic, betrayal, danger, mystery, mythology, astrology, powers, intrigue, interesting world-building, romance, and complex characters. Ms. Tataw certainly turned up the tension in this story, putting her characters, and me, through some intense moments- making this instalment the best of the bunch. As I have mentioned with the previous books, Ms. Tataw has created an intricate world with unique characters, lore, culture, and beliefs. There are magical, fantasy, and sci-fi elements, which are all woven around things we are more familiar with- which makes the story all the more believable and relatable. Colour me a happy little bookworm right now. This right here is pure paranormal perfection!! One of my top three books for the year so far!!! All the stars!!!! Forbidden Blood is the spellbinding fourth instalment in The Shadow Chronicles by C.R Robertson. I devoured the first three books and they immediately hit my favourites list, so to say I was excited to get my hands on this fourth instalment is a bit of an understatement. I shoved everything else I was reading aside, and plunged right in to submerge myself in the story. I was so engrossed in everything that it only took me a couple of hours to read it as I practically inhaled it. I got to the end and turned around and started it again- it was THAT GOOD!!! I had such high expectations for this book, as I adored the previous books (well lets be honest here, I have read and adored ALL Ms. Robertsons books) so this had a lot to live up to. But, again, Ms. Robertson didn’t disappoint conjuring an incredibly riveting read that has taken my addiction to C.R Robertson’s work to a whole new high- but it’s an addiction I have no intention of quitting any time, ever! This is definitely another jewel to add to Ms. Robertson’s crown. Even though this is the fourth book in the series, it could be read as a stand alone if you wished. But in saying that, you would be seriously missing out on some spellbinding reading if you didn’t read the first three books- plus there is some continuing story arc as well as some shared timeline and other details that you will want to have on board to be able to fully appreciate this exciting instalment, and the series as a whole. This is Kimber and Fabian’s story- we met Kimber previously as she is Tasha’s younger sister (Tasha and Levi’s story was in the previous three books). Kimber has never felt like she belonged. Always felt like she wasn’t ‘enough’. Always felt like she lived in the shadow of her older, more talented and capable sister. But fate has had its own plan for her all along, and the time has come for her destiny to be unleashed. Get set, because Kimber’s world is about to take a very intriguing turn. Add a swoony, smouldering, mysteriously sexy man to the mix, and the sparks fly. This is a fast-paced, action-packed, adrenaline fuelled, paranormal romance, with a complex, multi-layered, and addictive storyline. The story is incredible, with vampires, shifters, Lycans, magic, different realms, demon hellspawn, witches, sizzling chemistry, politics, agendas, drama, danger, secrets, paranormal beings, battle/fight scenes, violence, adventure, sizzling encounters, fated mates, forbidden romance, and incredibly high stakes. Sooooo my mind is blown. I had a feeling while reading this book that there had to be more to the story than just Cate being his wife reincarnated. I just didn’t expect it would be so much more. This book had me in such a hold. It is easily in my top 5 for the year so far. Just know that you are in for a hell of a ride. People are more than what they seem and what you think you know about the supernatural isn’t quite the same here.

A Way Out by Tami Lund is the second installment of the Rock Star series. Full of energetic, charismatic characters Lund wins you over in this romance novel. This is my first time reading a novel by Lund and it did not disappoint. Her story line was spot on, keeping my interest the entire way. In the very beginning I found myself trying to figure out who was who and how they all fit in, but once that was cleared up I could not put this one down. Oz was my ultimate favorite character with not only his devotion to the children but his devotion to his happiness. I will definitely get my hands on the remainder of this series and seek out other novels written by Tami Lund. I highly recommend this romance novel for a quick easy weekend pick me up.

I’m starting to fall in love with this author. Book 1 in this series made me fall in love with the series. I thoroughly enjoy sports romances. Sacrifice Bunt is another favorite I plan to add to that sports romance list. It keeps growing, especially since I’ve been reading a lot of them lately. The author put together another wonderful story between Noah and Zara. A misunderstanding from years prior led Zara to highly dislike Noah. However, when she finds out the truth does that change anything? Noah has wanted Zara for years. Ever since he saved her life, she’s occupied his mind. Does he finally get his chance? I really like the demonstration of growth for the two main characters in this book. The author also makes the characters relatable. I see a lot of Zara in myself, especially when it comes to expressing and voicing how you feel. Yeah, it reminds me of one of my flaws, however it makes me feel like part of the story. No romance comes without a bit of drama but add in the sports aspect and I’m sold.
I’m a sucker for a good sports romance, and this author didn’t let me down. Walk Off was everything I expected and then some.? The beginning of a new series that leaves the reader wanting more. Celia and Kyle have been through the ups and downs of heartbreak. What happens when 8 years pass and all those feelings come rushing back? The way the author navigated the narrative of the story is beautiful. Are there ups and downs? Sure. Is there character growth? Absolutely. It also makes me feel. I can relate to why Celia made the decision she did, I’ve been there. So another thing this author did was get me to reflect on what I read as well as my own life. In ways I never expected going into this book. I can’t wait for the next books in this series. Time to go look them up and some other books by this author. An author who’s working their way on my favorites list.
Yet ANOTHER fantastic book written by one of my favorite contemporary authors. As always, HEA guaranteed with the second half of the Duet for the series, but the way Damon just kept showing up for Sky made my whole heart melt. I’m so in love with these two, and honestly I think I like them better than I like Riley and Cole. Start with the Savage Duet, then work your way through the Brutal Duet yall, and give this series a go! You won’t regret it!

I loved Sacrifice Bunt so much! Zara is such a strong and sassy main character which made me fall hard for her pretty much immediately. She isn’t reserved and knows exactly what she wants. Or does she? Noah ruffles her feathers from the very beginning, and I absolutely love their energy together. I enjoy the spice and humor throughout this story. Bree Kraemer knows just how to bring all of these characteristics into a marvelous read that you’ll struggle to put down (or in my case, shirk all responsibilities until you finish). I’m excited to read the third book already, so pick up the first two so you don’t miss out!
Another great one! Though the second in a series, this can be read as a standalone and date I say I enjoyed it more than the first. The author composes a page-turning read following Zara and Noah. I love a good sports romance and this is no exception. Zara is a powerhouse character and I love her sauciness and interactions with Noah. The author does an excellent job creating well-rounded, likable characters, ask well as tension and relationship. I love a hate to love type storyline and this author delivers it to the next level. I love the first one, now the second, can’t wait to start the third!

This was a clever tale! I love dark paranormal romances as a genre but I Iove it even more when they blend myths into the package! This book begins with a glossary that in and of itself was daunting. So many cultures! However, as you read, this author spins a tale over years and years, but manages to keep it interesting! The female protagonist is clever and strong. The male protagonist has actual depth, not just a hunk with a dark side. Definitely worth the read!

I have come to love every single book I’ve read by this author, and the Hidden Valley Elite series has become one that I follow very closely! I’m a sucker for a good enemies-to-lovers romance so this was a perfect read for me. I enjoy how the author seamlessly ties in the characters from previous books and makes you feel all of the angsty emotions. Reading this has me primed to learn more about Aspen and Phoenix’s story, so I am keeping an eye on the release date! If you love a bully, enemies-to-lovers, adrenaline pumping, emotional rollercoaster, then this one is for you. I highly recommend picking up the series from the beginning to soak in all of the chemistry and background for each character!
Mystery. Oh, where to begin. This is the first book I have read but the incredible Caterina Novelliere, and I can’t wait to read more. The cover was honestly what pulled me in, but the mystery filled synopsis made me want to know more. Primarily told from Caitlin, and Evariste’s perspectives multiple other characters sides are used in a seamless flow that fully immerses the reader into the building mystery. Caitlin DeDanann lives in Williamsburg Virginia and works for a top firm. Her boss Sean Watchous took her in and raised her after her parents died for her grandmother, who is still in England. Evariste Arsceneaux is the CEO of Lagniappe Shipping and Ag based in New Orleans Louisiana. According to his sister Allister he once was a much different man than he is now, once taking life in strides now only throws himself into fishing and working nothing else. After a bad run in with some high-profile clients (Dante and Rayne) at her local coffee shop Caitlin is not impressed with the men hiring her firm to buy Arsceneaux’s Company. With her upcoming vacation to New Orleans her boss was able to bribe her into doing the onsite investigation for Dante and Rayne. Early on you discover the level of the mystery when Sean is surprised Caitlin doesn’t recognize Dante and Rayne, from her memories not the morning coffee shop incident. Dante even mentions he shifted the cup to save her white blouse. Allister and Alcee were shocked when seeing Caitlin, and Alcee says seeing her picture is the only reason he offered a tour of the company to get her there. Allister takes the next step, forcing a meeting between Evariste and Caitlin. Familiarity fills Caitlin when meeting him, a sense of comfort when near him. Evariste, he knows she is long gone how is it possible after three hundred years she has returned. Will Caitlin ever figure out the cause of her familiarity and comfort towards Evariste? Can Evariste escape the ghosts of his past determined to bury him? The characters the author creates, and the mystery that fills every chapter keeps you on your toes guessing what will happen next. While the world around them is primarily reality based the author brings a level of otherworldliness to the details. I admit I am very excited for the next installment in this new series to learn more about this world and the characters bringing it to life.
