I knew this was going to be a good one as soon as I read the author’s note. It was incredible! I’ve been a woman too emotionally entangled in my own thoughts to focus solely on taking care of business and while I didn’t go through the extremes that Rebecca did, I still find it deeply connecting. As a woman with high anxiety and past anorexia history, I can relate to our heroine in this story. The way that she spends so much time worrying about what everyone else thinks and feels smaller than the people surrounding her is such an incredible transformation to the rising phoenix that she turns into. Able to hold her head up high with confidence, she fights to the end and grits her teeth to become empowered as strong and ever-fierce as any woman could ever hope to be. This is written so passionately and so personally. We need more of this kind of women empowerment in the world!

Sisterhood of Secrets (The Gods; Scion Book 4): This is the fourth book in the series and I suggest reading them in order as the story will make more sense that way. This is another wonderfully written piece of fantasy that I highly recommend taking the time to read! In this installment, Arcelia finds herself navigating the desert and the City of Siesa Arid. She travels with Prince Rodrick and some of her family hopeful to find a semblance of peace and family unity once they reach the city. While threats follow them every step of the way, their story takes even more twists and turns as the story progresses. This is another book that is beautifully written and I highly recommend taking the time to read!!

What a cute and entertaining story. Counting is not the only subject in this story. You get science, colors, as well as rhyming words. This story is easy to follow and it involves the children. Another great open ended story, to help grow our children’s minds. The author keeps her readers focused and opens up the little minds of children. I love that in a book as well as in the author. I am looking forward to reading more of these stories from this author. So are my grandchildren.

What a pertinent book for this day and age. I understand it is fiction but the underlying theme of hate for other people’s differences is the backbone to this book.
Taz has been through so much pain and abuse that it is a wonder she has such a soft heart at her core. I read this story with tears brimming in my eyes often. I always have to brace myself when I read this author’s amazing books. Always a bigger picture than just an MC love story.
So much laughter and amusement added to the story through Teddy’s point of view and sometimes awkward questions. A great balance of love and lightheartedness and stress, tension and downright ugliness of some people’s views.
Travis is the Enforcer for Tank’s MC and is swearing to protect Taz and Teddy at all costs. Will he be able to keep her safe when it seems everyone is out to get to her?
This is a MUST READ. Loved it. If you haven’t read the previous books, I highly recommend them.
This is the fourth book in The Cross of Ciaran series. I love these books so much. The author takes us on a magical adventure filled with danger, magic, a secret treasure, Romance and some time travel. The author does an amazing job of writing a unique story with historical elements that really bring the story to life. As this is the 4th book in the series I really recommend that you read the other 3 books first as they all follow each other and without it i feel you wouldn’t understand the links to the past the characters have and how they got to where they are now.
We are back with Ciaran and Aodhán as they go on an adventure to find treasure they learnt about in ancient manuscripts. They have 2 of the 3 rings needed so all they need to do is find the 3rd ring and then the treasure. Should be simple right? However they aren’t the only people looking for this ancient treasure and their search leads them into more danger than they have ever been before. Will they be able to find the treasure? Does it even exist or is it a myth? Who else is after the treasure and what lengths will they go to, to make sure that Ciaran and Aodhan and Caitlin don’t find it?
This story is fast paced and full of twists and turns that I couldn’t even guess who the bad guys were. It kept me captivated from beginning to end.

Ten little starfish is a brilliant little counting book where you can learn all about the numbers one to ten, while also learning about life under the sea, as you explore the world of ten colourful and cute little starfish.
You will dance under the waves, explore the tidepools, watch as the starfish play with their friends, all while counting their legs, looking at all the beautiful colours and spotting the other sea creatures who live around them.

Kimber is a young vampire with a damaged past, she has been used by others for their gain for most of her life and her gifts have now become more of a curse to her, but because of this, she is treated like a fragile ornament and her family do everything that they can to protect her, but all Kimber wants is to be left alone. From being a youngster, her gifts have been hidden away from fear of what their discovery might mean, but it just meant that when she was conscripted into the vampire military, she had no experience of controlling them and her family’s worst fear became a reality when her coven leader used it to his advantage.
Fabian is a Watcher, a shaman entrusted with keeping the balance between the worlds and documenting all the comings and goings of both the human and supernatural beings within it, but all that changes when he comes across a vulnerable, pink haired young woman. For generations his kind have lived hidden from the world and drawn deeply from the magical wells of their realm, they have witnessed creation, separation and destruction during that time and vowed not to interfere in the Earth realm, however, the boundaries they have been protecting are crumbling and the problem is worse than they feared, they now have to make a decision about whether they can remain on the side lines.
Kimber is desperate to go outside and one day, she just does, she goes running off into the woods and escapes from her suffocating life, but her life changes when she meets another from a magical race she had never heard of rescues her from the hellspawn who attack her and when Fabian does this, he makes a choice which could change everything and everyone involved. Can Fabian bring out the strength he knows lies deep within Kimber so that she can finally use her gifts her own way and do the good she has always dreamed of and will it lead to the magical communities being brought together to fight this unearthly and evil creation? This is a fantasy adventure with a romantic heart, where secrets, revelations and discoveries lead to choices and consequences which lead to a make or break point in a war which has been waging for eons, as this rollercoaster of a ride takes you along all the highs and lows within it.
I loved this book! This is the second book in this series but can be read as a stand alone. It takes place AFTER book 1, follows the story line of different but adjacent characters, and any information you need is given to you. If you’re the type of person who like to follow characters throughout a series, this book is for you! I was excited to hop into this one and figure out what was going on from the first book. This store is cute and light hearted and captures the story of a mysterious guy with a good heart. The characters are so relatable and its a very easy read!

I enjoyed this book. It was funny and entertaining gripping your attention and making you want to know what happens next. Lizza is disgusted and embarrassed by everything her father is doing for their family. As a typical preteen girl, she would prefer to not have so many embarrassing things happening within her family to make them stand out. She’s trying to help her family fly under the radar, despite her Dad’s business ventures but everything she tries continue to backfire. How many things can her dad do to embarrass her and how many ways can her ideas go wrong?

When Magic Calls by Caitlin Berve- 4 out of 5 stars
Interesting take on Fairy Tales. The author gives these tales a magical twist intermixed with some darkness. I love how you can pick this book up, read one short story, and put it back down without feeling like you are left on a cliff. Each story is uniquely written and enjoyable, even for adult readers. This authors idea of a Fairy Tale museum is definitely unique. I recommend this book if you like quick reads.

This complex read will have you in your emotions the whole time. Claire’s mother puts her in an extremely difficult position, being her baby brother’s full time caretaker. Although she resents her mother, her fierce love for her baby brother is unrelenting and she does everything she can to provide for him. This book definitely puts poor Claire through the ringer. As a mother, I was heartbroken and wanted to help her. As a reader, I was all over the place emotionally and I could not put it down. Overall, this was an amazing YA book. I highly recommend!

This is a beautiful children’s book! The illustrations are my favorite part of the book – the colorful starfish and the cool crabs that show up on every page. A counting book with information on starfish at the end – one you can read with your child, count the starfish and learn about them all at the same time. If I still had littles, I would have this one on my shelf.

This is a story all about Jack and how he outsmarts the giant in the sky. It is a very interesting take on Jack and the Beanstalk. The illustrations are cute. I enjoyed how Jack turned on the giant – by tricking him, using his problem solving abilities to get himself out of a sticky situation. Cute story to read a loud ot your littles – would prompt good discussion in a classroom about right vrs. wrong.

The Magic Carousel is the first book in The Brass Ring Series by K.L. Small. It is a wonderful children’s chapter book- a fun fantasy adventure with action, carousel, horses, a brass ring, magic, time travel, history, challenges, imagination, drama, and learning. The story is quite captivating with lovely illustrations sprinkled throughout, which really help to bring the story to life. I liked the notes provided for each chapter which was provided at the end of the book as they added extra insight and information that enhanced my appreciation of the adventure. There is also a helpful glossary of words at the end of the book. Another fun read from this talented author. A story for the young- and the young at heart. And… Can we take a moment to appreciate the fabulous cover! Happy Reading…

Love, Only Better is the first book in the Bold Journeys series by Paulette Stout. This is the first book that I have read by this author, so I really didn’t know what to expect from one of her stories. But the cover drew my attention and the blurb sounded interesting- so I took a chance and set off to explore the book. It is a women’s fiction story- but focuses on a subject matter that is only too real. The story hopes to highlight this ‘secret’ issue in the hopes of helping other women who have the same struggles. The subject of intimacy, sexuality, gratification, and pleasure aren’t always easy topics of conversation- especially if you struggle to reach fulfilment. This can lead to secrets, angst, anxiety, feeling ‘defective’, confidence issues, and self-worth issues that puts even more pressure on the woman, and their (intimate) relationship/s. The story takes us on Rebecca’s journey as she grapples with these issues. This is an honest and insightful account of Rebecca’s experiences and her quest to find a ‘solution’ to her problem- and is a bit of a journey of self-discovery. I found the story interesting, and I really felt for Rebecca and what she was going through. I really tried to connect with her and become invested in her story, but never quite got there. I felt that the story got too ‘bogged down’ and a bit lost in all the details and descriptions- some areas are way too detailed and very ‘blow-by-blow’ – while other areas lack the detail I would have liked to see. This is also a ‘romance’ story- but I felt their ‘connection’ was kind of washed over a bit. But, maybe we will get ‘more’ of that in the second book- ‘What We Never Say’, so I will have to wait and see what happens there- so stay tuned. Happy Reading…

Fourth in its series it’s such a great paranormal forbidden romance. A slow burn starting as teenagers evolving into adults that are fighting a war greater than anything anyone has ever known. It is action packed with hidden agendas, vivid retelling, excellent world building, dangers lurking at ever turn, fated mates and magic.
Once you pick up this series you won’t be able to put it down.
Start at book one these books will keep you going till you’re forced to stop for rest

I swear this fantastic series just keeps getting better and better with each book and I didn’t think that would be possible! It has to be said right from the start that yes you can read this as a standalone but I think you do benefit from having read the whole series from the start plus it’s awesome so why wouldn’t you. In this book the amazing Emma is Sleuthing with Jeremy in Paris! Oh la la!!! There is great adventure and plenty of twists and turns along the way that will keep you turning page after page. I sincerely thank this talented author for creating such beautifully written storylines with wonderful characters for us readers to enjoy.

Sage Advice is a wonderfully written YA/ Clean Romance that will have you turning the pages till the end. This author never ceases to amaze me with her creative yet relatable and fully developed characters along with a storyline that flows. This story teaches us a very important message that it’s ok to not know everything and you don’t need to have all the answers. There’s the right amount of humor mixed with a few emotional moments but I couldn’t stop till I finished. I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next with Sage. Will she learn it’s ok to not know all the answers I look forward to reading more from this Author.

Completion. I flew through the previous two books and this one was no different. The need to learn more about Tasha and Levi and know what happens next left me little room to breathe as I devoured this final book of their epic story. Unlike the previous two books this one started with a prologue on how the different species came to exist. As well as how the fear of the Olympians forced them into chaos and war. Quickly it is apparent as to how Tasha and Levi were able to love each other so completely without understanding why but not fighting against it and embracing it. Picking up where the previous book left off the hellspawn have learned when the Lycans are at their weakest and they are in turn at the strongest, during the new moon. Only now the miracle that is Persephone has unseen power that allows her to keep those she loves safe despite her age and size. As the truth of how all species came into existence is brought to light the alliance that was destroyed centuries ago reforms. Tasha and Levi played the central part in proving that their species coexistence is possible and that the lies they were told were to keep them apart. To keep them from becoming more powerful than their creators. Magic is back and reclaiming their place in the war against the hellspawn that wants to burn all whilst claiming the Earth for themselves. Once again, more secrets erode as the truth is revealed. Can Tasha and Levi find their way back to each other in the darkest nights ahead? More secrets revealed but what does the mean for those affected? What will happen to the alliance when their story is complete? Once more the author finds ways to make the world more complete and more complex as we learn more about how the species were created, and how the war truly began. Seeing the characters morph into so much more than the youth of book one has been one of my favorite parts, as they became not only confident in themselves but in each other. Bittersweet, as much as I love reading Tasha and Levi’s story, I am excited to see how the world expands and changes with Kimber’s story in book four, Forbidden Blood, and how it will continue in the war against the hellspawns.
