What a fun book! Even as an adult, this was a great book of adventures I would be more than thrilled to go on. I also don’t care how old I get, the carousel will always be a fun ride. There are so many subjects touched upon in this book, that I think is very good for pre teens to learn about. Bullying, trouble with family members, health issues, etc. Each subject was nicely worked into the story and I was so pleased with the outcome involving Rusty’s grandfather, his dad and his friendship with Tyler. The end of the book has a list of different things mentioned in the book and their definitions or their explanations, which is a wonderful learning tool.

I enjoyed this story. This is book 6 in the series and even though I was able to read it as a standalone I will definately be going going back and reading the other books in the series. This is a really beautifully written emotional story about a woman finally stepping up and becoming the person she wants to be for her sake and her sons.
Gabby has gone through some tough times. After losing the love of her life she is planning on settling down with the father of her baby Richard. Richard and Gabby’s relationship has been on and off and with Richard now running to become the next Governer of Texas, her father sees this as the perfect time for Gabby and Richard to become a married couple. Of course from a security stand point it makes sense. Gabby and her son would want for nothing however the price of that is a high one to pay. Now Gabby is realising that everything she says, does and wears is being scrutinised and she is no long able to think for herself. The worrying part is she isn’t even sure she loves Richard. But when his campaign manager Amanda tells Gabby that she is the one Richard wants Gabby starts to question their relationship. Does Richard love her? He is having an affair with Amanda? Does Gabby even want to marry Richard?
As the story progresses we see Gabby grow into a strong confident woman who is finally able to stand up to her father and make her own way doing what’s right of her and her son. This story is full of twists that I never saw coming but what I loved the most was watching Gabby grow and reclaim her life back.

Intricate complexity. This is the first book I have read by the talented C.R. Robertson, and I feel it was the perfect series for me personally to be introduced to her work. Forbidden Wolf is the first book in the Shadow Chronicles series. It is a supernatural retelling of Romeo and Juliet to a degree. Told primarily from Tasha’s perspective we are given glimpses of Levi’s letting the reader know he feels the same as her. Vampire Tasha is about to turn twenty-one, the age for conscription into the army, to fight in a war she doesn’t believe in. Lycan Levi is also twenty-one and about to join his species army for the war when during their last summer everything changes. Tasha was never like the other girls her age; boys never really caught her attention, but she was prepared for the next twenty years to carry out her duty to her coven and species. Twenty years being mandatory service time in the army and breeding programs before being allowed to follow your own specialties or to be free. Levi is different from the others in his pack. He has black fur and mentions that the color of your wolf is tied to your abilities, he is often left alone. One fateful night changes everything either of them had been raised to believe. Thinking the bite of the other would kill them Tasha and Levi indulge in conversation with the enemy, but after talking and he protects her from the sun she is conflicted and questioning everything she had ever been told. Levi was stunned by the creature that is Tasha, he had been raised believing vampires were savage monsters and yet she was the gentlest, most caring thing he had ever seen. A plan for twenty years when their mandatory conscription is over, they will meet in Paris under the Eiffel Tower and once again just be lovers having a reunion. The characters leave nothing and everything on the table, their complexity not only personally but how they interact and react to the same situations is relatable and understandable. Once I started this book, I couldn’t put it down and now I cannot wait to begin book two, Forbidden Mate, to see what happens next for Tasha and Levi and how they confront what’s coming next.

I keep thinking that this series can’t get any better but then I read the next book. I haven’t been able to pick a favorite sister yet, but Shadow is definitely on the top of my list. Teddy is the best. Okay…let’s talk about this book, not just this brilliant series.
Taz or Raquel has had a hard life. The love of her life died serving his country shortly after her son was born. Then she met a nice guy that turned out to be an abusive racist militia member that wanted to use her for breeding stock and harm her biracial son. After Taz ran away from him, she found a home in Timber-Ghost and the Devil’s Handmaidens. She was quietly raising her son with the help of her chosen family until one day her past caught up with her.
Enforcer or Travis didn’t have the best childhood either. He was young and reckless until he found a home with Tank the President of the Intruders MC. Tank took him in and gave Enforcer a second chance at being human. Enforcer found that he couldn’t stay away from Taz. Enforcer has a deep soft spot for Teddy, Taz’s son. Enforcer would scorch the earth to protect either one, so when Taz’s ex shows up in town and hurts Teddy, he is ready to strike the match.
As more information comes to light, Taz and Enforcer realize that is more than just Taz’s ex trying to get her back. There is so much more and it is soooo much worse. Taz must fight her past to save her child and their future.
In case I didn’t say it before, Love this book. Love this series. If I could ride a motorcycle, I would move to Montana to fight the injustices of this world alongside these women. This author puts so much emotion and realism in her writing. If one of these women doesn’t fall madly and deeply head over heels for Avalanche, let me know. I will happily take that option. Amazing addition!!!
The Anchor Knot centers around the story of Gabby who is preparing to marry Richard. Richard is campaigning to be the next governor of Texas and Gabby’s dad wants her to be married to Richard and to live in the governor’s mansion. Gabby and Richard have been an on again, off again relationship and she is unsure if she truly loves him. She married another man whom she loved but he died within a short time of them getting married. Gabby had a child while married but her husband was not the father. The biological father of the child is Richard but if this secret gets out his career in politics could be ruined. When Richard’s Campaign Manager Amanda confronts Gabby, she becomes suspicious of Richard and wonders if he has been faithful to her. It is obvious that Amanda wants to become the next First Lady of Texas and will stop at nothing to make Richard hers. Has Richard been cheating on Gabby with Amanda? Does Gabby truly love Richard? As the campaign continues Gabby learns some truths that leave her world a bit shaken up. Will she have the courage to move forward and do what is best for her and her son?
This book was beautifully written and full of raw emotions. The storyline was intriguing, and the characters were engaging. Reading this story made me realize what life must be like in the spotlight for royalty and for politicians. How much pressure there is to be perfect, to act a certain way, and to dress a certain way. The character of Gabby was someone that I enjoyed watching grow as a person. As fiancé to Richard, she was in the spotlight and given certain rules on how to dress, how to act, and even what to say. Her life was scripted for her, and she was barely able to think for herself. She wanted what was best for her son, wanted to please her father, and wanted to be what others wanted her to be. Gabby did selflessly for others with little thought to her own needs. It was truly beautiful, uplifting, and inspiring to see Gabby flourish and become empowered. I highly recommend this book!

Jude and Angelica…where to start? Forbidden love? Love from afar? 12 year age gap? I can understand why Jude stayed away but oh, my heart hurts for him being that lonely. These two have some issues to get through and they will. As the older one in the relationship, I’ll say it can feel different because society paints a jaded picture but pooh. Women can have younger men. My husband is 10 years younger. I was rooting for Angelica once she realized what she had. I was rooting for Jude all the way. Coming into a mafia family wasn’t easy. The Hawke’s were different. They are a family and love each other. Don’t hide it, talk to someone. Dealing with his agoraphobia didn’t help. This book left me feeling every emotion. I think it’s the best Hawke book ever (even though you’ll write more). I couldn’t put it down. This author writes and you feel her soul in the writing. The passion and emotion are in it. You feel like you are almost in the middle of the action. Best writing of the year. More than 5 stars if I were allowed to.

This is the third book in the Code of Honor Series. Like the others, it functions as a standalone. However, I definitely recommend reading all of them as Brooke May has a fantastic writing style and does a fantastic job with her characters. Also, the main characters in each book are minor characters in the other books which gives you some insight into how they will behave in their book. This book is Chase’s Story. I was anxiously awaiting Chase’s story ever since he was the uncomfortable driver of Patience after her and Duke had their night together. Chase has literally never had a relationship with anyone. Sure he has been with many girls but he’s never met one that made him want to get to know her better. That is until he meets Angelica. Angelica is a teacher who definitely wasn’t expecting anything from Chase, well she honestly wasn’t expecting Chase at all. Brooke May does a fantastic job writing both Chase and Angelica, as characters, you can see that they have been through a lot and yet they both had a lot of growing up to do. I definitely think that the most growth in this story was seen with Chase who thought the military had him ready for anything. I definitely recommend this story as well as the rest of the Code of Honor Series. Brooke May does a fantastic job with all of her characters and the plots of the series itself are amazing. I definitely feel like they are quick easy romances that you can read on a rainy day. I love her writing style and cannot wait for more!

This is the second book in the Code of Honor series. This definitely functions as a standalone but I recommend reading the first book (Courage of Us) first, as the characters in this book are mentioned in the first book and it really just gives you a feel for the town of Centennial, Montana where they were all born and raised. This book features Jody and Holt. Holt is one of the main group that was introduced in the first group. He was a member of the Air Force and has no plans to settle down. Jody lives in the shadow of her sister who is a famous musician. Jody and Holt happen to meet at a bar and at the first touch they know that one night isn’t going to be enough. Once again, Brooke may writes amazing characters with amazing chemistry. Their dialogue is absolutely enchanting. I am absolutely loving this series and I cannot wait to see how she continues to develop the city of Centennial and this group of characters! I definitely recommend this series and this book specifically!

I didn’t think I had a favorite in this series but Master Campania and Willow have just become my favorites. He rules a vampire territory in Italy and sh’es a sassy little witch that thinks she know it all. They both teach other their is more to life and learn to love. The action was fast-paced. It has been since book 1. I loved seeing everyone back in action. Lucianna is amzing and I am still following what is happening in their battle. An amazing journey for all of them. Campania and Willow have left me wanting more of this lustful, flirty and spicy couple. All is good in this this book. My only complaint is that I have to wait until October for the next. 🙂

This is the first book in the Code of Honor Series and it definitely won’t be my last. The two main Characters are Patience and Duke who have been life long friends who happen to have spent one night together as teenagers. This story focuses on how they choose to pick up the pieces following their night. I truly loved how the author wrote these two characters as she showed the shift in their friendship very well as well as how they both chose to go forward in their friendship. The book takes place several years later and contains many twists and turns that I did not see coming. Truthfully, I could barely put this book down when I was reading it and managed to read it within two days. Patience was such an amazing character to me and I feel that she embodies that saying that I find myself uttering quite often. About how a frog doesn’t know its being cooked because they slowly bring the water to a boil around it, I feel like that describes how she feels when she looks at her life around her. I love how she feels that she needs to take a stand to regain herself as she remembers herself. Duke was also a very well written character. I loved how they both suffered from a broken heart. I loved this story and I loved these characters. I cannot wait to read more of the Code of Honor series and learn more about the people of Centennial, Montana. I definitely recommend this story as it was simply perfect in my opinion.

Regaining Integrity is Book Four of the Code of Honor Series. It can easily be read as a standalone but after reading this book I know that I will be going back and reading the first books in the series. The story is told from the POV of the two main characters, Angelica, and Chase. The two first met in high school but because Angelica Reece was a math nerd, she went unnoticed by almost everyone, unless she was being targeted by the school bully, Cera. The hottest boy in school was Chase Thorne and everyone knew it, including Chase, who used it to his advantage to sleep with every girl in his high school class. Cera was Chase’s high school girlfriend and she tormented Angelica every chance she could. Angelica had a crush on Chase in high school, but he never paid any attention to her. That is, until one day when he did something so horrible to her that it made Angelica the laughing stock of the school and ruined her senior year in high school. After that she swore that she wanted nothing to do with Chase ever again.
Fast forward several years and Angelica has flourished from a nerdy wallflower into a stunning young woman. She is strong, feisty, courageous, determined, smart, and fiercely independent. Angelica now teaches math at the local school and Chase Thorne’s nephew Ridge is one of her students. When Chase returns to town Ridge tells his uncle that he has a crush on his teacher so of course Chase needs to meet her. At first sight of Angelica, Chase goes ga-ga for her and becomes determined to date her. He does not recall meeting her before, does not remember her from high school, and certainly has no recollection of the horrid way he treated her. Unlike Chase, Angelica has not forgotten what he did to her and refuses to fall for Chase’s charm when he pours it on thick. She also refuses to admit that she is attracted to Chase as much as he is attracted to her.
This was one of the best second-chance romance books that I have read in a long time. The story flowed beautifully, the dialogue was realistic and natural, and the characters were engaging. I loved to watch how Angelica flourished from a geeky math nerd in high school into a strong, independent woman who exuded confidence. Chase was someone I wanted to smack a couple of times for being so dense, but I could also see that deep down he was genuinely a nice guy. I enjoyed watching his growth as a character and the sweet, sincere, kind, caring man that he became. The character of Cera was infuriating and man did I ever want to slap her a few times. She was cruel, bossy, and really needed to be put in her place. She was a bully in every sense of the word, and I was happy to see that both Angelica and Chase stood up to her on separate occasions. This book had drama, suspense, teen angst, bullying, romance, passion, chemistry, and love. I highly recommend this book!

I wasn’t quite sure what I wanted to think of this story. As it started, it felt like a romantic suspense, which it is to a point. Yet, Gabby really grows from a widow trying to please her daddy to coming into her own. She realizes that her life is her own and her son’s. There shouldn’t be secrets or cheating fiancees or conniving managers. Some of the antagonists in this story are truly ones youo just want to hate. It was nice to watch Gabby learn to stand and speak for herself. The twists were not what I saw coming but they fit well. I found this to be a very well-done story that is totally about female empowerment and you can also find happiness. The writing is beautiful and the characters are well-developed. This is womens fiction I would recommend.

My go-to genre isn’t necessarily to pick a thriller, so I was pleasantly surprised with Shadowed Obsession. Suspense was woven throughout the novel as Keira’s stalker ramped up their tactics and sexual tension rose between Keira and her attractive retired Seal neighbor, Cade. I am glad this is a series with the Shadowy Defense Security company Cade is a part of, I felt like there was so much more to explore with Cade and his partner’s backgrounds. Pieces of their stories were touched upon, but between the Shadow Defense prior military experiences and the clients Keira had at the PR firm, there are a lot of opportunities to expand upon and I hope character development overlaps! Very enjoyable read, with just the right amount of sexual tension to make the romance aspect just as fun!

The Secrets They Hide: An Italian Murder Mystery is the second book in series…and the author did not disappoint! P.J. Mann sets the mystery in Rome…and I mean you should know that most great mystery stories come from Rome…or at least that’s my opinion! This is my first read by P.J. Mann, and I will definitely be going back and reading the first book in the series. This book can be read as a stand-alone, but I recommend reading the first book just to get the feel of Detective Scala, and all of his quirks. Detective Scala has found himself in a unique predicament on trying to solve a recent murder mystery, and he will stop at nothing to solve the case! Detective Scala is stubborn in every aspect of his life, from the way he deals with his family to the way he eats his sandwiches! I won’t say much more because I don’t want to give away too much, but I will say I don’t think you will be disappointed! The writing style kept me reading nonstop until the end, I really enjoyed the detail that P.J. put into the storyline and development of the characters. I truly look forward to reading more from this author soon!

This was a very unique retelling of Jack and The Beanstalk and the author has written this one from the Giants perspective. She has tried to bring a modern twist to the story by using modern thing like televisions and the use of media – in this case television adverts. In all honesty this isn’t my favourite of her stories that I’ve read but it would have some great follow up activities for children – they could make their own adverts for tv like the giant and jack did in this story. The illustrations were good – bright and colourful and the story is short so it would definitely hold a child’s attention.

I haven’t read a good sports romance story for a while so when I saw this one, I grabbed it. Now it is book 9 in the series and I have only read 1 of the others from this series but they are easily read as standalones.
I really liked the characters in this story, yes, I will admit Wyatt was not one of those characters you get an instant connection with but I think I ended up liking him even more because of how much his character grew over the story and there was some great character development with him. Serena was a really nice character and I loved that this wasn’t one of those instant, one night stand kind of relationships. It was lovely to see the whole thing develop over the story.
Overall, a really great read, I definitely mist read some of the other from the series now!

This was such an amazing read. When I first read the blurb, I wasn’t really expecting there be so much emotion in the story and for what I was reading to be so powerful. It really did feel like real lives I was reading about; I was really invested in the story and what Claire would do. Claire really was an amazing character, for her age she had such strength, care and loyalty and that really shone through. She had such difficult decisions to make that would not only impact on her life but also of that f her mother and her baby brother. There were some good twists in the story and a great character in Claire’s Uncle who you just have to hate! This was an amazing read and definitely one that shouldn’t be missed! I 100% recommend Complicated Choices – it’s a wonderful read.

Love Bites More is the third book in The Darkness & Light Duology and the Love Bites World. This is a wonderfully written Paranormal/MM/Romance that I absolutely loved reading. I was instantly pulled in and had a hard time putting it down. The attention to detail, and characters that are creative, relatable and fully developed make for quite the adventure. I loved that the author gave us a bring you ul to speed at the beginning that way if you hadn’t read the other books you’ll know what has happened and who they are. This one is my favorite yet but the others are just as good. These three take us on quite the emotional journey of trying to figure each other out and how to make it all work. I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I look forward to reading more from this Author.

This is such a fun counting book filled with beautiful illustrations that any young child will absolutely love. I also really loved all the little facts about starfish at the end of the story.

I am totally in love with this series and this talented, creative author! The Brooks family is qwerky, 100% relatable and real. They all weave their way into your heart so easily. This second book of the series is mainly about Carter and Sunny but you still have glimpses of the rest of the family. If you haven’t actually read book 1 don’t worry there is nothing stopping you from reading this book and fully enjoying it but I say read them all! I can’t wait for more from the Love on Tap series. I just know there is so much more fun to be had with these wonderful characters.

As always Ms. Tataw continues with gorgeous detail and a wonderful story in her fourth installment of The Gods’ Scion series! As a whole this series continues to be unique and ethereal! It is one of my new favorites! The Sisterhood of Secrets as well as her previous installments have a really nice flow and tone that keeps you glued to the pages! I couldn’t flip them fast enough! The Gods’ Scion series is a wonderful read when you feel like you need an escape for a while. It completely transports you and it’s so easy to get lost in the story! Everything is so thorough, from the fashion to the culture and rituals Ms. Tataw truly thought of everything! Highly recommend this book and series to any supernatural or fantasy lover! You will not be disappointed!

I have absolutely fallen for this series! The relationship between Arcelia and Rodrick gave me butterflies that continue with each book! Every installment truly just keeps getting better and better! Tataw creates beautiful and vivid imagery filled with castles and gardens that make you feel like you are actually there. With all the supernatural and fantasy aspects this book was already right up my alley but Ms. Tataw takes it one step further and creates an amazing world with so much detail! I enjoy the names she comes up with like “Street Crawlers” and “Mohidens”. It really keeps you reading because it is so engaging! Descendants of Time and Death is also filled with secrets and adventure as well as some amazing character development! I can’t wait to continue this gripping series! I highly recommend this book and The Gods’ Scion series to anyone looking for a great fantasy series to sink their teeth into!

This is a cute little book that I think many children will enjoy. It is a fun way for teaching children how to count and give them a little information about starfish. The book flowed nicely and it was a fun read. I recommend it to anyone with young kids.

Ten Little Star Fish: A Counting Book by Kim Ann. It is a fun learn-to-count picture book that is accompanied by lovely, cute, interesting, and colourful illustrations that easily captures your attention, while bringing the whole story to life. The rhyming verses that told the story are a great way to help teach young children to count. This also has the added interest of having some starfish ‘facts’ listed at the end of the book, as well as a ‘finder’ puzzle that made this storybook both educational and fun. Highly recommended. An engaging, fun, imaginative, and enjoyable children’s picture book that helps them learn to count along the way. Looking forward to whatever Kim Ann brings us next. Happy Reading!
