She meets Ash Hayes and everything about him feels like it is meant to be right but can a human accept the magical life Holly Claus lives?
This was a whimsical delight of a story. I thought this book captured the spirit of Christmas and the descriptive details only enhance the tale that pulls you in right away. Great book for some hot chocolate, cool air and a blanket to nestle in.

This book was mind blowing. Very thought provoking and scary. This is an adventure into something no one really wants to talk about out loud. Well written, very descriptive, informative. To be honest it was a hard read, you will want to put down, but you will want to keep going all at the same time. Recommend to more mature people and advance readers but also those who just love to read.

Woah! Not at all my typical read but I have learned so very much. This was very thorough and thought provoking. The history is truly mind blowing and quite honestly kind of scary. McCarthy did an amazing job educating but in a fast paced engaging way. I have recommended it to so many different readers.

I’ve read other informational type reads, where parts of it lag on and focus on stating facts. This one was pretty fast paced and interesting in making connections to different weapons and its conflicts along the way. It also brings into account the different political leaders involved within these conflicts as well as the different weaponry. I can tell you that I do not have any military or enforcement type background but even without the knowledge and probably just some history knowledge, I found this to be a very interesting read. This is a great source for those doing research on certain time periods or writing their books and need supported content.

While non-fiction isn’t my go-to genre, this book was absolutely astounding! I wasn’t sure what to expect going into it, so keeping an open mind helped. I feel like I gained a substantial amount of knowledge from the way this author presented information. One of the reasons I don’t read non-fiction as much is because it can feel like information overload. This author did amazing in presenting a great amount of knowledge, but tying other things in so that it isn’t dry. I really enjoyed learning about the history and science behind nuclear weapons. It definitely gives you plenty to think about! I would recommend this book to everyone, even if it doesn’t seem like your cup of tea!

As soon as I saw rockstar romance I knew I needed to pick this up. There wasn’t even a second thought about this. As always check the trigger warnings, your mental health is important!
We are met with Alexis and Jordan, our leading main characters, who once were romantic with each other but no longer. Why is that you ask? You will have to read to find out. I love a good second chance story. This was just that. You could feel with the characters and the emotions on the page. I would absolutely read from this author again. She did a wonderful job with story building and character building. And did I mention it was a standalone!?

The development of nuclear warfare has been ongoing for over a century now and it doesn’t show any sign of stopping, so when that reality hits, it is best to at least have a heads up on what exactly it entails. This is where this book comes in, it has a breakdown of parts ranging from the scientific history, the weapons themselves, as well as the differences between the approaches of different countries as this development occured, but be warned, it is not for the faint of heart or easily perturbed due to the subject matter within.
In part one, is the outline of the who, what, where and how of the steps taken to identify and understand nuclear weapons and exactly what happens inside them.
Part two speaks about the reactions of the different countries and their races to become the top of the nuclear weapons food chain, including the threat level each country has to the others.
Part three talks about the weapons in more detail, how they work and who has control over them, as well as when and how they are deployed.
Part four discusses the affects of the aftermath of these weapons and what the resulting radiation can do to the human body and the natural world.
Finally, part five discussed the future of this technology and what this means for the future generations as well as discussing some of the moral and ethical implications of what this might mean.
This is a work of non-fiction which is easy to understand, interesting to anyone, no matter what their level of prior knowledge is, as well as being straight forward, to the point and a great introduction to the subject with plenty of further reading cited at the end.

Without being too heavy on the scientific details, this book was a good read. The author provided enough details for me to feel good about my so-called intelligence. At the same time, I was not overwhelmed by the scientific details. This book is very timely, what with the popular movie based on the same subject area having hit the theaters recently. I feel confident that, having read this piece, I can contribute to intelligent discourse around me.

After enjoying the first book in the series so much I was looking forward to reading this one. It is a great follow up and was lovely to be reintroduced to the characters. This boon is a YA mystery story and although it is firmly aimed at a younger audience it is still another one I thoroughly enjoyed. The story is well thought out and original. It has a mix of everything thrown in – mystery, Adventure, humour, Suspense. It easily draws you in keeps you excited for else might be to come. This is a great book.

The Hand of god by Paul McCarthy is an all encompassing book on the topic of Nuclear weapons. McCarthy goes into a great deal of detail from the history and science behind it, to the cold war, and beyond. While some points were very lengthy and very mathematical, I enjoyed the level of information to further my understanding of this topic. I also enjoyed the human aspect he brought into the end of this book as well as the stories he touched on of the effects on the humans who went through those horrible points of history. If you are learning or interested in nuclear science, the Manhattan project, or the sciences of war, this book is perfect for that!

This is the 4th book in the Eve Sawyer series. Each one can be read as a standalone, however if you like cosy Mysteries then this series is definately for you. The author’s writing is really good and the twist and turns in the story will keep you guessing and reading until the end to find out what actually happens.
In this story we are back with Eve as her and her friends plan on housesitting during their winter break. It was supposed to be a relaxing break away. However things take a sudden change when a man is found dead in the back garden of the house they are watching. At first glance it seems just a sad case of suicide but after speaking to the deceased mother Eve isn’t convinced. Was this a suicide or was it murder? Now Eve and her friends try to solve this case to determine once and for all what has happened and who if anyone is responsible.
This is a fast paced read with twists and turns and secrets to be revealed. As Eve tries to solve this case will she be putting herself in danger by looking in places she shouldn’t be looking?

Mr. Barsins’ Toy Emporium by Lois Wickstrom. I absolutely love this author and always read her books! My nephews love them too! This one is really fun being about imaginary friends being real! There are 4 children Jack, Lily, Audrey and Nick are all going to the Toy Emporium to find their imaginary friends. There are Sylphs, mermaids, gnomes and dragons as imaginary friends and the kids all pick their favorites. The owner of the toy store doesn’t ask for money but he does ask for payment in a different form. The story helps kids and parents with grief, neglect and family dysfunction. Reading this as a family would be a great therapy for a lot of people. I love Mrs. Wickstrom’s books because not only are they great for kids but they are really good for a lot of adults too! These books make great gifts as well!!

The Hand of God: From Oppenheimer to Hypersonics is a fast-paced, insightful, and detailed look into nuclear weapons. The author does a fantastic job of describing what a nuclear weapon is, the science behind them, and a bit of the history of their development. From the basic science of what an atom is and how it became weaponized to the politics involved in the use of nuclear weapons and the dangers of them. The book is well written, easy to read, and informative. It is written in a manner that is easy to follow and could easily be understood by anyone. It is a real eye opener of the dangers of nuclear weapons and how easily they could be used to eradicate life as we know it. It was humbling, terrifying, sobering, and thought provoking. Not a book that I would typically read but I am glad that I did.

What a sweet Christmas romance. I really enjoyed reading this book and was really drawn into it. I love how the author is able to bring the characters to life and use the magic of Christmas to add to this sweet romance. I love how the chemistry between the character is a bit out of the norm. I really like how the author set the world she has created and brings in that little bit of mystery and drama. This is such a good read that I will definitely be reading more from this author in the future and this series as well.

It explains in great detail what exactly a nuclear weapon is and how they are used. It is written to where even I could understand all of it. Knowing exactly what and how these Nuclear Weapons could be used are equal parts terrifying and cool. The examples they used such as dropping a bomb on New York and the damage it could do was absolutely horrifying. When I was a kid I was terrified of Nuclear Weapons and now we don’t think twice, in reality we should really be terrified now. The power of these weapons is incredible and very much a possibility. I feel so much more knowledgeable on the powers of Nuclear Weapons due to this book. Great job Paul McCarthy!

As usual with a historical fiction novel in this series I was hooked from start to finish. Once again I was transported back in time through the wonderfully detailed descriptive narrative which sets the scene, and the added historical elements which bring the era vividly to life. The storyline flows well and the plot kept me happily turning the pages, as we are introduced to the eldest daughter of the Hittite Emperor, Ehli-nikkalu. She is married to a vassal of her fathers but as she’s unable to produce an heir she is not respected at court. Then at a time when the loyalty to the Emperor is questioned, Ehli-nikkalu’s secretary is murdered whilst delivering a message to him which would indict their loyalty. Ehli-nikkalu then adopts her secretary’s children as she feels guilty at their fathers death.
When her young cousin becomes a pretender to the throne and begins to mobilise roving armies her loyalties become questioned further. She then discovers a terrible secret that could ruin the present regime if the pretender knew about it, and so along with a kindly scribe, her young ward, and a former soldier Ehli-nikkalu goes on a journey to prove herself to her father and save the kingdom. She may even learn about love along the way in this well written and obviously well researched story. Each of the characters have their own backstories and add to the overall story, my only concern is that there are a lot of them to remember. I found the brief authors notes at the end of each chapter a little off putting as it took me out of the story, I would have preferred a longer section at the end. Overall this was a gripping story full of historical details and intriguing characters and I definitely recommend reading it.

Daring Ceri is an enemies to lovers book. Ceri and Alex have been loving and hating each other for over a decade. At the beginning, Ceri is engaged to be married to a man named Richard. However, while trying to get her marriage license, she finds out she is already married to her ex- Alex (a famous rock star). She didn’t realize they really got married one drunk night in Fiji. Now, she has to figure out how to get divorced, but that would involve seeing Alex. Alex happens to be in her town on tour, but she is nervous because he always sucks her into him and then breaks her heart. After finally getting to Alex, he refuses to sign the divorce papers. He makes her a deal – on the road working with him, as a dancer, for three months and if she still feels the same about not wanting him, he will sign. Will she be able to resist him this time? Will he understand why she keeps rejecting his “love”? Or can the two of them find a way to make it work since the chemistry seems to be too much? I thought the book was good. It took a while for me to like the characters. Ceri is determined not to be hurt again and so her character, at the beginning, is basic. Settling for all things that she never planned for herself. It took her a little time and honesty to really tell Alex exactly the problem she is having with him. Alex, he is just clueless to what Ceri really wants from him. He is arrogant, self-centered, and a man that is not appealing for many women on a long-term basis. However, as the book progresses, you do see the progress in both characters. Overall, I enjoyed their turbulent story.

This is the first book in the Fallen Hearts series. This story started off just a little slow but man once you get going it was really good. The world that was built in this story was wonderful. The story of Rowan and Arryn was so captivating. Two people both trapped in their own ways in the world they live. Two people who don’t understand how much they need each other. I can’t wait to continue with this series.
An amazing set of dystopian type books about fixing what we view as our body issues. A totally creepy Dr. Kite wants to help women fix their issues. The books build on the previous stories and it’s great that they now come together. I found them exciting and thrilling just because of the creepy factor. The characters are easy to relate to. We all have these issues being dealt with and look for easy fixes. This author did a fantastic job with this story. I couldn’t put it down.

I did not read book one of this series, although I feel they can be read separately since we are told what does happen in book one and book two reads as a great stand alone, I feel I should go back and read the first to get a better chemistry between Cassy and Boyce. I do like them together and I did like the romance, but I felt like something was missing and I that’s on me for not reading the first one. Saying that I really enjoyed the story, you’re hooked right from the beginning. It’s a nice mystery with suspense and I like the added family drama from both characters. I wasn’t suspecting Boyce’s mother to try to come around Cassy, I do wish there was a little more drama with the FBI but there are other murders to be solved. I really liked Cassy’s character; I’ve seen other reviewers say she has had great character growth since the first book. I feel she’s kind of badass, she went through so much in book one, leaving her with PTSD, it’s nice that we see how she is still scared of going into the woods, but she’s working through it and still trying to do her job and she’s doing a great job at it as well.

This isn’t my typical type of book I usually read. I’m so glad I chose this book. This book had me thinking and learning at the same time. The book was about nuclear weapons. When I first picked up the book, I knew absolutely nothing about nuclear weapons. I now learned some things about it. The author did an amazing job describing things in this book.

5 Star’s Chasing Cheer (Emerald Hollow Book 1) by Heather Schneider
Chasing Cheer is the first book in the Emerald Hollow Series and a wonderfully written Contemporary Romance that I absolutely loved reading. This was just what I needed to pull me out of the funk I’ve been in lately. Everything about this book screams happiness, love, magical love and so much more This author done a wonderful job re-creating a Christmas classic with a twist. This is a newer author to me but I’m a fan already. The characters are fun, relatable, fully developed and creative. They make the story come to life and I can picture the vivid colors and even picture it in my mind. Emerald Hollow sounds like my kind of town and I could picture myself living there. Holly and Ash. Holly travels a lot collecting cheer to take back to the North Pole. But a stop in Emerald Hollow is about to change everything she thought she knew. Ash is trying everything he can to save his small town. But things are about to change for him as well. I highly recommend reading this sweet Christmas story to find out what happens next. I look forward to reading more from this Author.

Flanks the line between fantasy and reality This trilogy was fascinating. As always this author delivers a brilliant suspense thriller mystery. Gigi, Ellen and Lilly along with Dr. Kite bring their POV to the story. Micro chips delivering dreams or false hopes. It took a little while for the story to take off and once it did I was hooked until the end. The character’s stories are interwoven well and the suspense built across the books, so it is worth reading them in order. Recommend.

Trudy Beasley is the Assistant Chief Medical Examiner in Philadelphia, and she intends to figure out this mystery. Her counterpart, Forensic anthropologist Benjamin Roberts, disagrees that there is a legal reason to try to figure out the truth. Being on the same side they of course work together closely during the investigation and their professional relationship turns into a romantic one. The secrets they have unearthed brings danger to their lives and could potentially spell the end of their newfound romance. Someone intended to have their secrets remain hidden with those bones even long after they were gone. Now though, they must stop the investigation at all costs. Will Benjamin and Trudy be able to stop the killer before they find another victim, or worse become a victim themselves? I am absolutely enjoying this author and her writing style. The characters all go so well together as well. Sure, they are in close proximity with their professions, but the relationships have all grown organically. The twists and turns will keep you turning the pages and anticipating what is going to happen next.
