This is the first book in the Philly Heat series. In this book we follow the story of police officer Kaylee and criminal Jayson.
I enjoyed the plot of this book, it had me engaged and invested. The twists were great and fit so well into the story.
I enjoyed the characters of Kaylee and Jayson in particular; both are strong and determined characters and their chemistry leaps off the page. They were well developed with their shared past and the complex emotions that arise from that and the way they attempt to navigate these feelings and obstacles felt believable. There were moments were I just wanted to knock some sense into them, but the way I came to care for them both goes to show the author’s skill at created great characters that you can’t help but become emotionally invested in.
This was an enjoyable start to the series and I can’t wait to read the rest!
