This series is becoming one of my favorites and thus author is becoming one that I will read anything she writes. This is the 7th book in the series and these books keep getting better and better. This is the first part of a duet in a series. So, make sure to read this one-first before you move onto the next book. This is also a book that you will want to read the rest in the series before this one, just so you have some background info about this amazing group. This book has everything you could dream of from angst, to steam, to intrigue. Since this is a duet story it does end in a cliff hanger and I normally detest cliffhangers but this one actually makes me want to read the next book, instead of being angry. I suggest that if you absolutely hate cliffhangers that you could wait for the second book to read it but you would be missing out on the start of an amazing story. The enemies to lover vibes that is given will have you turning pages faster than you can read them. The mystery into who did what will have you creating how things are going to go. This book has you wondering if they will figure things out. It also feels like everything is coming full circle with the series. My Big Red Monster (Giants and Monsters) by Lois Wickstrom is a great story to add to her collection of wonderful children’s books! As always, she has filled the pages with bright and colorful illustrated pages that appeal to the eyes of young children. Lois has written another book that has lessons for the little ones that provide learning/teaching opportunities, ways to overcome fear, fun, monsters and so much more! Do you know what to do if there are monsters under your bed? Well, if you don’t then you will need to pick up this cute children’s story that tells you what to do! Sweet Vengeance is the third book in the Mission Belles series by new-to-me author Pamela Gibson. This is the first book that I have read by Ms. Gibson, so I really didn’t know what to expect from one of her books, but the blurb intrigued me enough to want to find out. So, I snapped up a copy and set off on the adventure. I didn’t realise going into this book that it was part of a series, sometimes my one-click finger takes over and it’s not till I have the book in my hands that I discover that it’s part of a series. Wicked Games is Book #7 (but the 10th instalment) in the Hidden Valley Elite series by Isla Vaughn. OMG- I can’t get enough of this series!! This is the first instalment in Shane and Winter’s story, which concludes in the next book, Wicked Ends. It is a New Adult, enemies-to-lovers “bully” romance with plenty of angsty drama, love, hate, emotion, trauma, tension, intrigue, suspense, mystery, secrets, family dynamics, sparks, chemistry, and s-s-s-sizzle. As we previously- The ‘Elites’ are the top of the food chain, college football stars. They are brothers Cole and Damon and their cousins, twin brothers Phoenix and Shane. Each of the elites get their own book/s – and this time it’s Shane (and Winter’s) turn. And OMG do they have a story to tell! This is not a light and fluffy read- nor is the series. There is a lot of darker content, which I won’t go into because I don’t want to spoil anything for you. But do check the content warnings before diving in, because there are some disturbing/unsettling details contained in the book/series. And, as expected- Ms. Vaughn loved toying with my emotions! The Inquisitor is the fourth book in the WaterFyre Rising series by Nadia Han. It is a fantastic romantic suspense with a second chances/friends to lovers element, intrigue, danger, mystery, tension, chemistry, sizzle, drama, agendas, damsel in distress element, alpha-male type billionaire doctor, family, friendship, emotion, abduction, human trafficking, violence, and deadly developments. Ms. Han certainly knows how to weave an engrossing story and she always manages to pull me in from the get-go and keep me glued to the pages, devouring the words to discover how it all plays out in the end. I have loved this series from the very first book, and each instalment since just seems to get better. Each new release always becomes my favourite till the next one knocks it off its throne. As was the case here. I loved the backstory behind how ‘WaterFyre’ came about, and that aspect of the series has always intrigued me. The group of WaterFyre men each get their own book, so each could be read as a standalone. But in saying that, I highly recommend reading the entire series, from the beginning, because they are each fantastic stories in their own right and each book lets us get to know one of the WaterFyre men, and their love, in much more depth. This is Forrest and Kiera’s story. Forrest is the Inquisitor of WaterFyre (yes, I have mentioned that name several times now and if you don’t know what that is, you really should read the book to find out what it is all about) and a billionaire doctor and a protective alpha type male. He comes to the rescue when Kiera is abducted and put to auction by human traffickers. Things are about to get complicated, in more ways than one. What happens makes for some intense, engrossing, and dramatic reading. Looking forward to the next release – ‘The Strategist’ (Book #5). Happy Reading!

Master Sardinia is the eighth book in the Masters of the Consulate series by Sylvia Black. I know I have said this with every new instalment in this series, but it’s true- this series just gets better with each new instalment- and I don’t need any more enticement than sexy vampires: vampire mafia to be exact- even better. Again, as with the rest of the series, this is a fantastic dark vampire romance/paranormal romance- and has all the ingredients of a romantic suspense too– with an underworld society/vampire mafia, enemies to lovers, a fated mates element, age gap, danger, drama, high stakes, chemistry, sizzle, agendas, evil plans, politics, magic, emotion, action, loyalty, bonds, mysteriousness, intrigue, tension, emotion, and is told from a duel POV- which gives this story added depth and interest. I highly recommend reading the other books in the series before beginning this one. Because even though you could read this as a standalone, as each book in the series focuses on its own separate character/s, and there are also some interconnected details, as well as recurring characters that pop up/span the series- so I really recommend reading from the beginning, so you know what’s happened right from the start. The best part about this series is that there are 12 books planned…. 8 down, 4 still to comewhich means more sexy vampires on the way! Oh, and did I mention VAMPIRES!!!!! Wicked Games is the seventh book in the Hidden Valley Elite Series. At this point I’m invested, I have to keep reading but sometimes the stories feel forced. This one has picked up since the last one. The ending of the last one allowed this one to start with the reader on the edge of their seat. The characters are nice but I think need a tad bit more development. At times the interactions seem forced. Overall it was a huge improvement since the last book!

This is book 7 in the Hidden Valley Elite series. I honestly can’t give this series enough praise. I have loved every story. I was waiting on the edge of my seat for this book after the cliff hanger the last book left me on. This book follow the last of the 4 men we have read about in this series (definately read them from the start). We are with Shane and Winter in this story.
When we rejoin Shane he is struggling through the fallout and consequences of his actions. When Winter reappears in his life. Winter used to bully Shane and made his life hell and now he sees his chance for revenge. To make her feel as low and as worthless as he felt all those years ago. What he doesn’t realise is Winter can’t possible feel any lower than she already does.
Winter has returned to university after leaving her Foster parents. Winter has had a traumatic past with losing her sister at her mother’s hands and now her past is about to catch up with her as her mother parole date looms. As she struggles with lost memories, anger towards her mother and nightmares she can’t shake Shane becomes her shining light making her feel safe. But with so many secrets and lies between them do they even stand a chance of being together. And when their pasts catch up with them a secrets start coming to life would they even want to be together. What happens when the need for revenge turns into a connection and a passion neither one can deny.
Like with the other romances the chemistry between our characters is on fire but the angst, trauma and struggles they have to go through is what makes me fall in love with them.

This series is one of my all time favorite romance reads. Winter and Shane are both very well developed characters. I have been waiting and waiting to find out about Shane from the beginning of this series. He is this mysterious character playing a background role that finally has the spotlight in this novel. Between him and Winter, this book gives me enemies to lovers vibes.
I honestly have to say that this has been my favorite so far in the Hidden Valley Elite Series. It is not my favorite because it is one of the longest in the series, but I do give the author credit for expounding on this storyline. And yet, I am still dying for more. Shane is accused of many things, but I do not believe for one second that he had anything to do with Winter’s sudden problem. Once again, the cliffhanger is going to be the end of me! I cannot wait for the next book!!

The Truth About Myths is a historical enemy to lover’s romance tale and the third book in fabulous The Winemakers series. It is easy to imagine the world and time period as Giovanna writes with rich historical detail, descriptions, and world building, with such passion and in a vibrant style. This Regency romance is set in Portugal and Spain amongst the Monarchy and court politics, secrets and scheming. This beautiful love story shows the difficulties and struggles they face with their relationship. There is heartbreak, compassion and passion, tenderness, danger and tension, angst and animosity, chemistry and romance. I love that it was told in dual POV as we learned so much about these characters and especially Henrique’s rakish ways. Their journey is filled with sense of duty, patriotism, and unexpected twists and turns. The swoon worthy playboy Viscount Henrique doesn’t believe in love, and he has big dreams, but he is about to be whacked over the head with it. He is witty, charming, sexy and an unapologetic rake. It’s hard not to like him. Princess Isabel is the epitome of entitled princess. She is a determined, strong and intelligent woman who cares about doing the right thing for women and is about to find out there is much more to life. I loved their wit, banter, chemistry, and the perfect amount of push pull denial and tension as they learn more about each other. I often found myself laughing at their antics or situations they found themselves in. I recommend reading this book if you are a fan of historical romance, enemies to lovers, opposites attract forced proximity stories.

I was glad to see another book out by one of my favourite authors K.G. Fletcher. One click and it was in my hot little hands.
This is the fourth book in the wonderful The Bennetts of Langston Falls series. It is a steamy standalone romance tale, but I recommend reading them all in order to understand the characters, their lives and where they are coming from. But also, because you will be missing out on so much goodness of the other stories.
Reckless Love is a beautiful slow burn forbidden love tale set in a small town where everyone knows each other. The biggest hurdle is not the town but being the youngest and a girl it’s those pesky older brothers with their noses all up in her business.
This is Becky and Glen’s story. Glen has not been a popular boy, but it seems he has redeemed himself. Now he just has to prove himself not only to Becky but her family as well and the fun begins.
Becky is a big girl something her family, her brothers seem to forget so falling for the enemy is supposed to be a no go. Glen is a changed man and has turned his life and himself around but that doesn’t mean her family will greet him with open arms when they find out who she’s fallen in love with.
This steamy romance has everything you want in a romance story that melts your heart.
I loved this story, and I would highly recommend reading it. I mean who doesn’t like rainbow unicorns?

Necromancy the Musical by Debbie Hibbert is such a fantastic little gem that I discovered by chance on social media. I thought it looked like it could be a fun read, but little did I know when I one-clicked myself a copy thinking it would be a cute, fun read— that it would actually be one of the best books I’ve read this year— and I have read a LOT of books, so that’s saying something. CeCe is a necromancer who helps her police detective father solve murders. But she is also a high school student with a passion for the performing arts. She and her best friend have the opportunity to attend a performing arts ‘camp’ to hone their acting/musical skills, which the two are super excited about. But when a sinister supernatural force starts targeting CeCe things take a complicated and dangerous turn. CeCe is put to the test when she must try to figure out who or what is targeting her, and why—- but also ensure that she doesn’t miss the opportunity that the ‘camp’ offers her. With the help of her best friend, and some new friends they meet at ‘camp,’ CeCe and co are set for one heck of a week. Add in a touch of cute romance, plenty of intrigue, danger, and twisty developments- and we get a wonderful, spellbinding story to enjoy. It is highly original, with lots of clever touches that made for an immersive reading experience. On top of that, its uniqueness sets it apart from others in the same genre. This appears to be the author’s debut novel- because when I finished this I was left with a bit of an addiction for Ms. Hibbert’s writing, so I went searching for her other works to snap up so I could have a book-binge of her stories, but this was the only one that I could find. So, to have written something so engaging, intriguing, original, fun, and polished as a debut novel is certainly quite a feat- and a testament to the authors writing talent, and promises of great things still to come. This is a wonderful paranormal mystery with necromancy, crime and investigation, suspense, voodoo, dramatic developments, danger, friendship, family, musical elements, twists and turns, the supernatural, intrigue, humour, banter, quirky characters, and so much more – all set against the sights and sounds of New Orleans. Like I said earlier, I have developed a taste, well let’s be honest here- it’s an addiction to Ms. Hibbert’s work, so I can’t wait to get my hands on more of her books. I was excited to see on her website- yes, I may have stalked, hem, I mean investigated her, and found her website- well, anyway, I found that she has ‘Necromancy the Call Back’ and ‘The Galveston Mystery’ listed there as WIPs, so I am really excited to read those asap. Shadow Bringer is the first book in the Raven Academy series by the supremely talented Brandi Elledge. I absolutely LOVE Ms. Elledge’s books- she is one of my favourite authors- so it was a given that I would be reading this Book. But to say I was blown away is an understatement- I couldn’t have loved it more than I do! I finished it and dove right into Book #2 which had only just released- I devoured them both and was left with a taste for more- in the best possible way. I hope Book #3 is coming soon because eeeep, I need to know what happens next. This is a wonderful fantasy that captured me right from the beginning- giving me an instant addiction where I couldn’t have put it down, even if I’d wanted to- it is completely riveting!!! The story is woven around shadowbringers, shifter, witches, vampires, an academy for young immortals, magic, sci-fi, action, adventure, secrets, banter, humour, chemistry, romance, danger, drama, good vs evil, family, friendship, emotion, and has a bit of a dystopian setting and feel. Riley has been raised in a sheltered ‘puritan’ community that keeps its inhabitants safe from the impure that have wreaked havoc on the world. With vampire’s, witches, shifters, and the deadly shadowbringers roaming the world, the communities offer the only real safe havens for the pure. Right? With nighttime an especially dangerous time, Riley ensures she’s never out after dark- she’s petrified of the dark and shadows- and has been since she was a very young child. She and her best friend have dreams for a better, and hopefully, more exciting future, but are unprepared for the surprise that fate had in store for them, both. Riley’s 18th birthday is one she won’t soon forget. Whisked off to the Raven Academy, a school for the ‘impure’ immortals she has a steep learning curve ahead of her. What happens when secrets are revealed? Add in some sizzling chemistry and a couple of hunky immortals to have to deal with, and the story takes an even more intriguing turn. Hot Flashes and Hockey Slashes is the first book in the new Hot Flash Hookups series by Marika Ray and Sylvie Stewart. This is a fun contemporary romantic comedy with a fake dating element, OWYM, holiday hookup, forced proximity, only one bed, meddling family, reverse age gap, menopausal mischief, chemistry, funny quips, banter, one-liners, antics, family dynamics, drama, emotion, angst, and wonderful characters. When Olivia has to attend the wedding of her ex-husband, her meddling children organise a ’fake date’ for her. Roman isn’t what she expected at all. A pro hockey player with more than just his looks and hockey skills going for him. What happens makes for a really fun and memorable read. The story was so entertaining, and I enjoyed every second between these covers. These two authors have come up with a magic recipe here and I can’t wait to continue this madcap romp of a series. This book really threw me some loops and curves. It is a really good thing though. I couldn’t stop reading until I finished each page. I highly recommend this book. It really captivated and had me mesmerized from the very beginning.

I absolutely loved Shadow Bringer! Brandi Elledge created such a fun and entertaining book that hooks you from the first line! This book completely captivated me! I read it in one day because I was so enthralled I couldn’t put it down for one second! It gave me the vibes almost like a mix between Twilight and The Hunger Games! Two of my all time favorite series, so it was beyond right up my alley! I absolutely love Riley’s character and how she is written! Her inquisitive nature and yearning for the outside world are so relatable and I loved watching her character grow! I can’t wait to get my hands on the second book in this series, Shadow Dweller and continue this riveting story! If you enjoy the paranormal you really need to get your hands on this book!

We are finally entering the final duet of this series. And I will be sad when the final book comes out. This series is wonderful and fantastic. These characters you grow to love. Wicked Games is the beginning of the end. I feel like the series is coming full circle, this book gives you a lot of similar vibes as how the first duet started. Bullying is not okay and that’s exactly what Winter did to Shane when they were young. He stuttered which gave her all the ammunition she needed to tear him down. Well guess what she’s back and Shane vows to get revenge for what she put him through. Not that he has time, he’s dealing with a lot and Winter just adds to the mix. Giving her a false name allows him to get close, but at what cost? Will heart or mind win out? Will he continue on his path of revenge or decide to bring it to an end? Winter has returned to her hometown. A town full of ghosts. Where she lost her dad. Where her sister was murder. Where her mom was arrested. She now returns to dig a little deeper into her past while attending college. Never did she expect that journey to be derailed by Landon. A man spotted across a cafe that just pulls at her soul. Again I will reiterate, I love this series. And this final duet is setting up to be the grand finale. The best journey taken with these characters yet. Do you need to read the others? Oh my goodness. This book was SO SO good. I loved every drama filled second of it. It’s definitely worth the read. As far as Young Adult books go, they’re something I really enjoy reading, and this one is set in New Orleans, which is my hometown, so it was already speaking to my soul before I started reading it. I instantly fell in love with the characters. CeCe, Portia, and Zach (and a list of others, but I’m not naming them all) take center stage in this amazing story. If you love teenage drama, murder mysteries, the supernatural, and a love story thrown in, for good measure… You’re going to LOVE this book! I absolutely recommend it.

This was a great 5 star read. I love these two authors together. I had several LOL moments and I can relate to the hot flashes. Olivia quickly became a favorite character for me and Roman wowza. Roman was perfect for Olivia, I loved the bantering between them and the things Olivia would sass back to him. You could feel the connection between these two coming off the pages. The authors pull you in with their writing and you feel like you’re right there with the characters. All of the characters added a great element to the story. Reggi Dupree is a very talented author with her quirky, snarky, and entertaining characters that just pull you head first into these fun paranormal adventures! She and Daryanda Jones both have a very similar writing style that I truly love, making them two of my favorite authors. If you love funny humor and down-to-earth characters that just speak their minds, then you should definitely check this series out.
Mystical Midlife Mate is a paranormal women’s fiction novel and the second book in the Boudin, Barbecue, and Hoodoo Series. PWF are books that have main characters that tend to be a tad older, who’ve experienced life and learned to ignore the haters as they are okay being their authentic selves.
Gwen Carter, our main character, is nothing short of a firecracker who is currently struggling with her new-found powers and doesn’t need anymore to deal with. Unfortunately, her struggles are only going to get harder as her long lost dad shows up telling her what he expects her to do if she wants to keep her precious town of Hoodoo safe. And if you think that dilemma is bad enough, then you will be completely shocked to find out that Ash, Gwen’s hot, rich, smart, powerful boyfriend, may not be all he’s cracked up to be. Gwen meets her long lost relatives who have a sorted history with Ash, which makes her question him and their relationship. What is going to happen to Hoodoo, to Ash and Gwen, and will Gwen ever be able to catch a break? If you haven’t already, you should check out this amazing series. Unclutter is a raw and compelling YA debut novel. It shows how the victim can take back your life and you can fight back. It is also a strong message of hope. This novel is a complex tale that explores the difficult subject of sexual abuse and self-harm. Pagota boldly tackles the hard and traumatic themes with dignity. Even though it’s a young adult story, adults will also like reading this too.

This was a good 4 star read. Becky has always taken care of her dad and brothers. She is lonely and she starts to grow close to her brother’s friend Glen. But of course that doesn’t go over very well. I really liked these two characters and was rooting for them to have a HEA. It definitely was not an easy journey. All of the characters added a great element to the story. It was finally time for Becky’s brothers to support their sister, but will they? I liked the playlist as well. The author does a great job with her writing and pulls you right into the story. I look forward to reading more from this author and series. 1-click and get started today.

This was a fun and quick read! Olivia has been invited to her ex husband’s wedding in Belize. She is feeling frumpy with twenty extra pounds, not very confident, and also perimenopausal. But she decides to go to support her kids. Holly, her daughter and Hannah, her new college roommate, think it is a good idea to set her up with a fake date for the wedding week. Roman, Hannah’s dad, is a professional hockey player and the oldest player in the league. He would do anything for Hannah since he has been absent for a lot of her childhood while on the road, so he says yes. The week in Belize is amazing, the walks, the sunsets, the laughter, and even the romance. I loved the characters, I loved the idea and story line, I loved the location, and I didn’t want it to end! It was nice to read a romance book where the characters were not in their twenties and have lived some life. I devoured this book in a day and will now be looking up the rest of the books written by these authors!

Wow, are you ready for a roller coaster ride of lies, intense situations, deceit, dark pasts, corruption, bullying, questions and hard truths and decisions that will be made hard to make….the twists and turns……this story of Shane and Winter…I did not see coming from a mile away. Wicked Games is book #7 in the fabulous Hidden Valley Elite Series and I highly recommend reading this series from the beginning as the characters are entwined in each book building more and more in the story lines….all I can say is Wow…..this author is truly talented and I love that she continues to amaze me with each book in the series.

As an avid reader, I always give a book at least 50 pages before I consider stopping reading. The warning about the book being a LGBT thriller didn’t stop me. The story does move a bit slow in the beginning but it’s also been a while since I read a western themed book, so I figured I needed to read it. Story of Fenimore James running away to become an outlaw kept my attention. Setting out to find adventures turns in to a learning experience for Fenimore James. The author did a wonderful job of world building and character development.

I didn’t know what to think about this book going in, I was interested but skeptical. I have never been more happy to be proven wrong. I LOVED this book, I couldn’t put it down and then I delayed reading the end because I didn’t want it to be over. It’s SUCH a good book. The story keeps you interested, the characters are relatable (we all have or have had a Portia) and it wasn’t predictable. I’m EXCITED to hear that there will be a second one because I NEED to know how the story continues. It’s a fast read, a fun read, and a great spooky, YA, thriller that will keep you interested from start to finish.
