This is the sixth book in the Logan McKenna Series and each book is getting better and better than the one before it! Valerie Davisson has such a knack and vision for her stories and characters. I have found that there is never a dull moment, especially when it comes to Logan. Valerie has a way of describing everything in such detail that it makes you feel like you were right next to Logan yourself. In this book we find that Logan is expecting happy times ahead, her and Ben have bought a house that needs quite a bit of tlc on the Oregon coast. Between working on their new house and meeting her half-sister, Olivia, Logan thought she had her hands full, but little did she know that her plate was going to become even fuller. Logan has found herself in the midst of another murder, and of course she is going to be investigating……the biggest kicker is that Logan is juggling the murder, house and meeting her sister for the first time, all at once! Will Logan and Olivia get along, does the house that Ben and Logan are working get finished, is the murder solved just in time? All I can say without spoiling it is this, If you LOVE a good romance and suspense story, this one will NOT disappoint. I read it in one evening. I will definitely be checking out more of Seelie Kay’s books. This was SIMPLY AMAZING.

This is the fourth book in this series, and I have read all the books in this series. Let’s just say that these books just keep getting better and better! Valerie has a way of intertwining action, suspense and mystery all while developing a great story line. To me, this is a well-developed story that has wonderful and not so wonderful characters that bring the story to life. Just like the previous books, I was pulled into this story right from the beginning and was entertained to the end. Logan is back in another investigation and just like all the other times before…. it’s a doozy! This time she finds that her friend isn’t who she says she is…. but it’s not for the reason that Logan thinks! As her new neighbor clings to life in the hospital, Logan is trying to draw out the killer. Logan finds that the more she digs to find the truth and solve the crime that is at hand, the more she realizes that she may not be able to escape the situation that is at hand! You definitely don’t want to miss Logan in another suspenseful investigation looking for a killer. Logan has grown to be one of my favorite characters. She has a way of showing her strength, determination and nothing is going to stop her from getting what she wants! This is a very entertaining book, as well as the other books in the series. The book hooked me right off the bat. I ended up reading the entire book in one day and late into the night. Riley is our main character with her best friend Sam. Sheltered, does not even explain the way these girls grew up. I was shocked but most definitely intrigued how this community lived. The surprise addition of the new kids at the academy causes lots of friction and drama. The new kids seem to not have a care in the world and are strong enough to take care of anything that may come to kill them.

This story had so many twists and turns with some heart wrenching moments as well. I already have book 2 and can’t wait to see what happens. The author’s attention to detail and storytelling was on point.

What a cute and colorful world Lois has created in her story My Big Red Monster. I love her books. They always tell the greatest stories and have such great world building. My nephew is 3 and he loves the bright pictures and the “monster voice” I use for the monster. I absolutely recommend this book for a classroom or library, it’s so awesome.

Not my usual genre at the moment but I thought for a change I would delve into this historical suspense. And this book gives you suspense, and action alongside a fast paced (once you are hooked) story of self exploration and how life changes.<br />I can say I enjoyed it, it took me a bit to fall into the world described (again possibly as it’s not my go to genre) but the author really does pull you along with Simin (Fenimore) as they change their life from farmer to outlaw in the West.<br />The book does show how his life changes and that the grass is not alway greener. As with many historical reads there are mentions of behaviours that are not as much of our everyday life in this time. This does show that the author has done their research and sticks to the narrative and builds a word as close to what may have happened as possible. <br />I would certainly read more by this author.

After reading this book, I have decided that I actually love historical romance. This book is amazingly written and allows you to picture everything non your head with a clear concise picture. What happens when the person chosen to escort you is your brothers best friend but also a huge rake? All of that is described in the book and you won’t be let down. This is a very quick read because the words flow off the pages and you will get caught up in the story. There is a banter between the characters that has me wishing for more. The passion and the chemistry is off the charts in this book. While the steam in the book is amazing, you will also love the story line. I love the way that the character growths also involves the political satire of the time period. This book has so much depth that I am sold on reading everything the author writes. Even though this is the third book in the series, I feel that you could just pick it up and read it. I am going to read the others in the series because I can’t get enough.

I don’t want to spoil the book, but just know that this is a must-read for avid paranormal/shifter-romance lovers! This was a whole new take on werewolves and their culture! I was enthralled by how different the idea of mates was in this book and really enjoyed the added aspect of religion that played a role in their beliefs. Many of us paranormal readers are familiar with werewolves and fated mates, but this book shows a different side that I don’t think many of us considered. Wow! I’ll be looking for book two!

This was a sweet Mail Order Bride book. Joy is in an impossible situation. This was a lovely story about protecting those you care about and finding love along the way. Jack is a fierce protector but he can’t do it all alone.

I enjoyed No Amends from start to finish. Twists and turns occur in the story when you least expect them to. This love triangle will keep you guessing until the very end. If you are looking for a dark romance with a psychological thriller mixed in, look no further.

This is an author that I have enjoyed reading from the first book I picked up. This is the seventh book in this series which is just as great as the previous books in this series. I enjoy this author’s writing skills and attention to details to make the story realistic. This is a story that is well written and hard to put down. Jake is back in another mystery that turns into a race against time. When he tries to leave his past behind but he finds himself thrown back into it. I enjoyed his character and all that he brings to the story. He kept me turning pages fast just to see what would happen next. I enjoyed watching the growth of the plot throughout that made the story easy and entertaining to read. This is a fast paced story that I really enjoyed. This is one of my favorites yet. I highly recommend this book.

This is my first book by this author which I enjoyed reading from beginning to end. I look forward to reading more from them in the future. I enjoyed how the author used details to pull me into the story. They made the story feel realistic. This is a Christmas romance story that will put you in the holiday spirit. This is a well written story about Marshal Jack and the two four year olds that he has inherited. His problem is that he was not expecting them and with his income does not have much money for a nanny. What happens when it is suggested to Marshal Jack that he marry? This is a great story that is hard to put down. A story where the characters are full of emotion and will pull at your heartstrings in parts. They are connectable and have great chemistry throughout. They made the story easy to read and brought out the holiday spirit. I highly recommend this book

Mark Sutherland loves adventure! In order to support his ideal lifestyle, he became a reporter. His dream is to go to the Yukon and experience the Canadian Gold Rush. However, he has to pay and exorbitant amount of money to get there. Not to mention, a year’s worth of supplies (including a stove) to be able to survive there, because once you get there, you are iced in until spring. So to save his money to get there, he takes other trips out to Texas and Oklahoma. He has other adventures and ends up befriending Gus, who becomes a good, reliable friend. When he returns from those, he finds out that his trip has been approved, but it comes with a few strings. Can Mark agree to the terms to gain the trip of a lifetime? Or will it become too much to ask of him?

I really love reading this author! Their stories always make me feel like I am right there in history watching the adventures play out in my mind. The characters are written in such a relatable/likeable way that it is easy to want to be their friend! I also enjoyed the mention and interaction with Emma from the author’s Notebook Mysteries series (if you haven’t read that series, you should!). I love that their story is still continuing on with the next generation. It was an enjoyable read and am looking forward to the next in the series!

As Mama Warbler is hard at work to find food for her babies, one little egg is left a bit timid to come out into the world….until it is time to make their appearance.

This author is one of my favorites. This book starts off fast paced and continues that way through the whole story. If you are a Zombie fan, this is the story for you.  This story is packed with action and the ending will blow you away.

This book is narrated by Jess Jacob. She has an amazing voice and really brought this story to life. I’m looking forward to listening to more stories narrated by her.

I adored this book the second I started reading it, it feels so realistic. I love that it takes place in 1846 during the San Francisco Gold Rush, not only was it a great love story of enemies to lovers, but it was packed with excitement of a woman (Elena Santoro) seeking revenge for the death of her little brother Antoine. Elena has given up everything in her life to find out who was the person who killed her little brother, and then to seek revenge by taking their life. Elena must wait for her brother’s friend to finish up his jail sentence before asking him who caused the death of her brother. Carmelo tells Elena that her brother’s killer is none other than the man who had refused her advances in her younger years, none other than Sean Mitchell. Once she finds out this information, she sets her plans in motion to seek out Sean and take his life, once done she will finally settle down and marry. This story has so many unexpected surprises that just keep happening, that no matter what well-set plans Elena has set, something keeps going awry to make her doubt herself as well as her feelings for this man whom she has never forgiven for refusing her prior advances. Will Elena be able to fulfill her promise to her mother’s dying wish, or will she answer the call of her heart instead? The characters in this book are so full of passion and fire that they just capture your heart upon meeting them, you begin to doubt what is suspected of them, and it is so exciting to watch their story play out with all of the unexpected incidents that continue to befall our two main characters, Elena and Sean. I am so excited to go back and look up the other books in this series because this is the first book I’ve ever read of Pamela Gibson. I am amazed at how well she portrays the time of the events, it’s like I was right there experiencing the gold rush and fearing for the crowds of people all coming to San Francisco, California. What an amazing period to place such a wonderful story in.

This is another amazing paranormal M/M romance from this author. I have read loads of book and I am never disappointed. The author does an incredible job of making the stories unique and with all the books I’ve read there is never the same story. What I love about this author is their ability to captivate me from the start and surprising me along the way.
This is a quick read which will keep you gripped all the way through. I don’t want to give too much away but this is a story that has it all, danger, secrets, Paranormal activity and of course romance and chemistry.

When Lucifer breaks into the mysterious house that the town thinks is haunted he planned on proving all the gossip wrong. What he didn’t expect was that one decision would change his life in ways he could never expect or imagine. The Men of Eden Cove Manor do hold secrets but will Lucifer embrace this discovery or run away like many have before him?

Heart’s Escape is the third book in the paranormal fantasy Fallen Hearts series. This story is told my fav way of storytelling from alternating POV’s given us a much more in-depth view of who the characters are.
Meredith has once again intricately woven together an amazing tale that is well written. Her writing style paints a vivid picture of this unique and exciting world that has many characters. There are elves, dwarves, dragons, and strange shadow monsters.
They may be broken but they take charge and forge ahead in this action adventure that is full of violence, danger and unexpected developments that had me on the edge of my seat.
Two strangers from different worlds lost, desperate and secrets start these characters on a dangerous road. This journey is a steamy slow burn enemies to lover’s tale.
There is a lot going on in this fast-paced tale that is full of magic, fear, hate, danger, passion, desperation, hope, plots, portals, a touch of humour, banter, and spicy romance.
This exciting book will appeal to anyone who enjoys reading paranormal romantasy tales with dragons and supernatural beings. I cannot wait to read the next book in the series!

I absolutely love this series. I am so glad there is more Jake and Cody my favourite pair. Mission Target is the seventh epic tale in the Jake Wolfe series and not to be missed. You really do need to read he books in order to appreciate this pair and understand everything that has happened to bring the characters where they are today.
Mark is a master at cleverly weaving together a thrilling story that never leaves you wanting. He is a dynamic storyteller, and he packs a punch with his vivid vision and portrayal of fully developed characters and never-ending action.
This gripping tale is a rollercoaster of a ride with lots of twists and turns you don’t see coming. It is a suspenseful thriller that is so engrossing that the end is upon you before you know it. As much as there is action galore and lots of suspense and tension that is palpable, it is also fun and humorous, and I was laughing out loud.
The characters are well developed, fully realised and definitely flawed. Jake and his best friend Cody crack me up they are completely unique characters. Whenever these two are on a case there is mayhem and madness. The story is told in the third person POV of several characters. Telling a story this way I love as it makes the story even more dynamic and make them so much more real.
Jake a covert operative will do everything in his power to keep the enemy winning but this time he maybe way out of his wheelhouse as he faces an enemy like no other.
This fast-paced read is completely enthralling, and I read it in one sitting because it is so good that you don’t want to waste a minute in finding out what is going on.
With threats, a twisted maze of crimes, secrets, lies, and murders and a life-or-death battle and a ruthless global criminal organization Mark caters to every thriller lover.

Joy’s Christmas Escape is the first book in The Marshal’s Mail Order Bride series by new-to-me author P. Creeden. This is the first book that I have read by Ms. Creeden, so I really didn’t know what to expect from one of her books, but the blurb intrigued me enough to want to find out, and I love a good historical romance. So I let my one-click finger loose and snapped up a copy to set off on the adventure.
I am excited to find that this is part of (what appears to be) an 8-part series, something to look forward to. The author also has numerous other books to her name, so I can feel a book-binge coming on.
This was a sweet historical romance with all the ingredients needed to make it a great read:

-Hunky lawman who desperately needs a nanny ✔
-Cute kids ✔
-Emotion ✔
-Superb historical detailing ✔
-Set at (in and around) Christmastime ✔

A sweet story that is well worth the read.

Kneading a Winning Idea is a fun story with a prized recipe just waiting to be taste tested to boot. Terri has incorporated a message for young or old to take to heart.

But it is not just a story it is a learning tool as well as Ben learns the importance of trying and sticking it through to the finish whether you win or lose. It teaches them to problem solve whilst also being taught that losing or failure is not a bad thing. I think this is a message that is severely missing in children of today.

It is aimed at pre tweens, children aged between 3–8-year-olds who just love to be involved in cooking.

The beautiful pictures done by Pei Jen are bright and colourful and really help to bring this story to life.

A great idea for Christmas which is coming up. Enjoy.

As Dylan and his tribe of one little sister and a furry four-footed friend set out to find the truth the fun and mayhem begins.
MJ has given her readers a unique story and her wonderful narrative brings it to life.
This book is aimed at Tweens who I am sure would love to receive it as a gift with Christmas or birthdays coming up.
It is a fun tale that should not be missed.

Kneading A Winning Idea by Terri Sabol is a cute children’s picture book story with a bit of an educational component about the value of patience, practice, perseverance, not giving up, problem solving, recipes, and cooking.
The story is woven around some lovely, bright, and interesting illustrations which really help to bring everything to life.
Ben is determined to win the annual bake-off, but things don’t seem to go to plan. What happens makes for a sweet read.

The Christmas Carousel is the second book in The Brass Ring Series by K.L. Small. It is a wonderful children’s chapter book that weaves a wonderful fantasy adventure full of action, carousel horses/animals, a brass ring, magic, the Christmas spirit/the true meaning of Christmas, imagination, drama, and learning.
As with the first book, this second instalment is a captivating fantasy where we follow along with Rusty and Grandpa as the story comes alive before our eyes.
It’s a great addition to the series and another fun read from this talented author. A story for the young- as well as the young at heart to enjoy.
Looking forward to ‘The Haunted Carousel (Book #3).

Joy’s grandmother passes away and leaves Joy with a mess. Joys only hope is to run off and pray that the trouble doesn’t follow her. Joy agrees to be Jack’s bride. This story is the first in a series of stand-alone mail order bride books.
This book was entertaining and keep me engaged. I am looking forward to reading the rest of the series.

Rise of the Y is the first book in The Y Chronicles by Angela D. Shelton. It is a YA dystopian story with adventure, secrets, agendas, family dynamics, rebels, who-to-trust, a hidden diary that reveals long-held secrets, danger, rebels/rebellion, a quest for truth, duty/responsibility vs freedom, dramatic developments, and religious elements/overtones.
I really love a great dystopian story, and I love YA adventures- so when a book combines both- it’s a YES from me. I really wanted to love this book as it held the promise of great things, but unfortunately, I just couldn’t find my groove with this story- which frustrated me no end. I also didn’t connect with our FMC and character, which made it impossible to invest in her and the outcome of the story. She just didn’t win me over and I found her annoying. This could be a ‘me’ problem though- as I have been on a bit of an action-packed thriller binge of late- so I have decided to revisit this book again in a few weeks to see if I still feel the same way….. so stay tuned.
I am curious to see where we go from here, so hopefully Book #2 will win me over.
