Wolfbane (Wolfbane Series Book 1) by Celia Hart – Review by Beverly Finnie

Wolfbane (Wolfbane #1)Wolfbane by Celia Hart
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

So every once in a while I get on a shifter romance kick. That’s all I want to read, which is what led me to Wolfbane. This story is a tearjerker but good. Multiple love triangles with one common denominator in them. And poor girl the author puts her through the ringer. Yet she comes out better for it in the end.
Jasmine has been saving herself for her one true mate. She’s the one who lacks fun, because she’s straight edge, religious, and pure. Coming from a strict family background she has to keep all encounters with future Alpha Blake hidden. They’ve become friends out of his pursuits of a good time, unfortunately she knows her family would approve of the friendship. Of course that’s not the cruel hand she’s been dealt. Her mate is none other than the future Alpha’s beta Luke but all her best friend Lucy’s boyfriend.
Two triangles :
Luke, Lucy, & Jasmine
Luke, Jasmine, & Blake
Lucy has no intentions of giving Luke up.
Luke wants to do the right thing, but at what cost because all he’s doing is hurting Lucy.
Blake wants Jasmine, he doesn’t feel like Luke deserves her. However he fully understands the mate bond so he will step back and help his friends see its benefits and why they are meant to be together.
Simple, right?
Not really because a wrench is thrown into the Luke, Lucy, & Jasmine triangle that’s about to blow it all up, decisions need to be made. It doesn’t help that there’s a war on the pack looming. Giving the Beta and ultimatum is all Jasmine has left. She’s losing herself and her will to fight.
What will he decide?
How will it impact everyone involved?
That question and so so so many more come about while reading this book. You feel for Jasmine. You want her to be happy but how can she when everyone is pulling her every which way. The only escape she gets seems to come from her time spent talking to Blake. He’s been that shoulder to cry on.
You want love triangles, loss, rejection, action and so much more. This shifter story has it and then some, so check it out!
