This book was a great read! Suspense, action, and a complete thrill of truly not knowing what to expect. Julia was quite a force and the support of her friends fueled her strength. This story had so many amazing and unforgettable elements. It’s a great conclusion to this series!!

What a smashing sequel! The author delivers again with an adventurous mystery with our favorite child sleuth, Sparky!
The author does a wonderful job with setting and storytelling. The story is engaging, fast-paced, and incredibly unique. You’ll feel transported right into the action with Sparky working to solve the mystery and keep her friends safe.
These books continue to surprise me with their ingenuity and likable characters, especially Sparky. This has been an unexpectedly wonderful series so far and I can’t wait to see what comes next.
Pursuit into Darkness by Theresa Van Spankeren

This is book two in the War of Destiny series. This book can be read as a stand alone, but helps for back story of the first one is read. The novel continues from book one 70 years later. There’s enough time that’s elapsed to not feel disconnected from the plot. There’s plenty of intrigue, a complex plot line, and characters you love and hate. The ending was a surprise. If you love vampire stories then you will enjoy this novel.
Deja Brew All Over Again: A Runaway Bride Romance by Sylvie Stewart

I thoroughly enjoy this series! And though Deja Brew All Over Again isn’t my favorite it’s an extremely close second to book 1. I love the characters the author has created. The depth of each Brooks family member is beautifully developed as you read their character’s story. All the books are connected in succession, so you could try to read it independently, but it’s better starting with book 1 and working your way through.
This book in particular focuses on the troublemaker. At least that’s how he’s made out to be. Miller was a teen when his father died of negligence during a routine procedure and he hasn’t been the same since. Did he get into trouble, sure what teenager doesn’t but the family makes it seem like it more so because he could.
His life changed for the better when he found out his latest arrest would not lead to jail time. Since that incident brought him to the courthouse he never would’ve imagined he would be gunning it away with a beautiful runaway bride in tow.
Maisy is trying to figure out her life. What’s best for her and her little brother. However one thing she does realize is marrying Jameson isn’t it. When she jumps in Miller’s car it sets off events for a life change she wasn’t expecting.
Can Miller let go of his playboy ways?
What about Maisy is she willing to ignore what’s right in front of her?
A series of unfortunate events that impact the entire Brooks family is the beginning of what truly starts to bring these two together.
The question is, who’s the enemy this time?
That and so many more come to mind while reading this story. It’s great and I loved it.

This was a great 5 star read. I was pulled in and didn’t want to put it down. I felt like I had more than one story going on. There are several twists and turns. I really liked the characters, you could feel their connection coming off the pages. Having military in my family, I felt for Waters on his PTSD and wanting to keep her at arm’s length. I like duel POV so I can see what they both are thinking, adds more to the story this way.
Overall I really enjoyed this book. We get suspense, danger, mystery, and so much more. My emotions were all over the place and some LOL moments. The author’s writing is great and she pulls you right into her story. You feel like you are right there with the characters. I will warn there is a scene that could cause triggers for some so beware. I look forward to reading more from this author and series. 1-click and get started today.

Elusive Surrender by Via Mari

This is the third book in this series and I have enjoyed every book so far and this one was just as good as the last two. The two main characters are Sheldon & Alexis. They’re such good mcs and I enjoyed reading their story and watching them navigate through their tricky relationship and romance. They definitely had chemistry and it was hot hot hot. I think they’re my favorite couple so far!
This book was well written and I enjoyed the story that the author gave us and I cannot wait to read more of their work in the future!

Elusive Surrender is the third riveting instalment in the Sinful Duets series by Via Mari. This is a fantastic romantic suspense duet that contains two standalone stories- ‘Elusive’ and ‘Tenacious’.
As always, I love the way Via Mari weaves her stories with plenty of chemistry, sizzle, danger, secrets, hidden agendas, action, mystery, a whole lot of intrigue, emotion, and so much more. I’m always guaranteed of a unputdownable read when I dive into one of her stories, and that’s certainly the case for this duet too.
Elusive:
This is Alexis and Sheldon’s story (whom we have met previously)- where Alexis finds herself in a sticky situation when an international sex trafficker sets his eyes on her and Sheldon is tasked with protecting her. What happens makes for an exciting read.
Tenacious:
Here we join Nick and Allie for their story, picking up one month after they met in ‘Elusive’ (Book #5). Nick hasn’t been able to get Allie out of his head. But he is certain that the danger hasn’t passed- she will definitely need to be protected until the threat can be completely eliminated. But that doesn’t necessarily mean she will fall at his feet. Chemistry sizzles and sparks fly!!! I loved Nick and Allie- and I also loved getting answers in the trafficking story that has been running through the series!
I love that we get a duet, two fantastic stories brought together in one book- it really allowed me to sink my tenth into two enticing stories. I love the Billionaire Bodyguards, and this is a great way to immerse yourself in their world.
So well woven- Via Mari is known for her superb romantic suspense stories and this book showcases that brilliantly. Again, she easily builds the tension and suspense to an all-time high, then throws in a massive amount of combustible chemistry- all the while balancing the intensity with lighter touching moments and heart-aching emotion.
Another riveting read from this talented author!

Miller is known as the screw-up in his family and is not taken seriously. Even though he drives this bride away, he doesn’t expect the events that will follow. And, for a guy who is accustomed to one night stands, he doesn’t expect the relationship that builds between him and Maisy. But, can they really get that happily ever after?!? It sure isn’t going to be easy.
Miller has been one of my favorite characters in the series…and this just cemented that spot! I enjoyed how Maisy saw beyond what everyone else believes. And Bear…oh my goodness…stole the show! The situations that arise in this book definitely kept me turning the pages1 Looking forward to the next one!!
Sweet Dreams by Claire by Nanette Littlestone

Set in the beauty that can only be found in Ireland, this book has well written characters that will make you feel like you are stepping into their world, and very much wish you never had to leave. The world building is phenomenal, and the characters are flawed, but loveable and are all trying their best to do their best for those they care about. Claire is biding her time until she can take over the family bakery, and make the changes that she feels need to be made to expand from the staples that her parents have always made to the more adventurous confections that she prefers and comes up with on her own. When she meets Brigid and Finn Cleary, her world is changed for the better, as she learns that not every problem is one she has to solve, not every male will view someone who is less than perfect physically as worthless, and that friends are the best part of life. This book is the second in the Capture the Light series, but can definitely be read as a standalone.

Deja Brew All Over Again by Sylvie Stewart was Millers book in her Love on Tap. Boy this is misunderstood but so sweet. As the youngest boy and the family screw-up, no one ever takes him seriously. I am so thrilled that he god a happily ever after. Maisy is strong and ruthless. She loves her family, well her little brother, and does for others more than herself. Miller helps her out of a rough situation, and she finds herself falling for him. I loved this book, Miller deserves someone who loves him and understands him. The story was funny, cute and sweet. While I assume the story can be a stand alone, I’d totally read in order as I LOVE the fact that you get glimpses in the other family members. This has been one of my favorite series, and I cannot wait for Lynn!

Not exactly feeling “warm and Sunny,” Carter comes across as a rude human with an addiction that has Sunny wants to help. After some digging, they both realize they need each other in more ways than one. Smooth Hoperator by Sylvie Stewart is book two in her Love on Tap series fallowing the Brooks family. I have been loving this series! It’s so funny and relatable. I found I really enjoyed Sunny’s character, her innocence and word vomit had me wishing she was my bestie. So happy to have found this series!

It has been a long while since I’ve read one of Sylvies books and I am so mad at myself for waiting this long! Ales Fair in Love and War by Sylvie Stewart is book one in her Love on Tap series. let me tell you it was so good and so dang cute. I loved everything about it! “Where are you going with your face?” She had me laughing so hard at the feud and pranks between Hollis and Cash. I totally loved Hollis and her personality. Sylvie knows how to make the characters feel like your best friends. She has a way of describing everything so you feel like you’re right there in the middle of the story. You can feel the chemistry between them and the tension, oh man, that was palpable. I’ve already fallen for this family and cannot wait to read about the rest of the boys and Lynn, too!

Claire Francis has been working in her father’s bakery since she can remember, even when he stepped away she continued with her Mother. Claire wants to do more but she seems stuck in a rut, everything begins to change though when a wedding in town has her meeting Finn.
Finn is a man who is not afraid to try new things and the opposite of Claire. Claire is intrigued by Finn but can she let go of her fears in order to have a future with Finn?
You are swept away in this magical tale. I really enjoyed this couple, I felt for Claire she has some deep fears and I so admired her strength through out. I thought Finn was a breath of fresh air and was definitely rooting for this couple. If you are a foodie this is one to pick up, I have some new ideas for food pairings to try.
This book was such a struggle for me. I wanted to put it down so that I could savor the story, I wanted to binge read it because it was so good. I stayed up late, reading long after I should have been in bed. I had to leave all Kindle devices away so that I could focus on the other responsibilities of my life because I was so wrapped up in Kai & Taylor’s story, I knew that I would get nothing else done.
Kai is a wonderful producer and very great at her job. With a smart mouth and her creative cussing, she was easy to related to. Taylor is the best at his job, which is secretive and nobody really knows what he does, unless he wants you to know.
There is everything in this book. The romance, mystery, suspense. All the things that keep you turning the pages as rapidly as you can.
Honestly, is it August yet? I’m ready for book 2! I want to know more about everyone.G

I was pleasantly surprised to have enjoyed this book so much as I am quite a bit older than the target audience. This is the second book in the Bunker Hill Mystery Series which includes our lovable 11-year-old detective Sparky. Much has changed from the first book and it’s all for the better…well mostly. She is doing her best to locate the stolen jewels while trying to avoid a cannibal. I enjoyed the setting again in this book as the author has a knack for transporting you to 1930s Los Angeles. I loved the flow of the story and found myself caught in the fast pace of it all. I recommend picking this up if you’re looking for a fun and cozy mystery.

If you are looking for a magical romance full of sweet treats, intriguing characters, and dash of mystery and secrets, then grab this book!
Sweet Dreams by Claire, written by Nanette Littlestone, follows baker Claire Francis as she tries to make her baking dreama come true. But here comes risktaker Finn, brother of the bride, she’s baking for to push her into facing a fear she has harbored for a long time.
This was such a fun story, full of well-rounded characters that you wanted to root for. I loved the realness of the stoey that tackled fears, secrets, and longing interspersed with magic that made me smile. I loved how i could just imagine the tastes and smells of the baking just as much as I could feel the emotions the characters felt.
I can’t wait to read more from this author!

Auctioned Surrender by Via Mari

I have read several books by this author and this one just proves why I keep coming back! Their ability to create such a magnificent world with well-developed characters ranks them high on my list. The first story follows Damian and Bryanna who have page-turning chemistry that I couldn’t get enough of. A marvelously written romance filled to the brim with suspense and emotions. In the second story we get to know Dereck and Layla with plenty of steamy scenes thrown in. I loved all of the characters in both books, but my favorites were the phenomenal females! They were strong, independent, and ready to do whatever it takes to get through. I hope you’re ready to spend your weekend with them all because you won’t be able to put this one down. I highly recommend diving in!

I’m not sure if there is an exact order to read these books in but I read The Cold Kid Case first and this one after it. Described as a YA, cozy mystery, I would check out the subject matter before just handing it to your kiddo as you definitely want to be sure they are mature enough to handle that. A little hard to get into at first but still an immensely enjoyable story. Once the action starts it doesn’t stop and I couldn’t wait to find out what happened. The characters were lifelike and fit the time period well. Again, told from her point of view we get an idea of what it’s like to be a scrappy, orphan, in this day and age, and how tough it is to survive on the street. Appreciate Bardens wonderful storytelling and can’t wait to find out what Sparky gets into next.

Loving the cover art and it really captures the characters natures , Cutis looks nerdy and with his rockstar persona you’d expect a certain arrogance but I tell you what , just watch him with kids and your knees will turn to jelly and the cover captures that perfect and as for Lina is captures her seriousness 😉so yes in this instance you can judge a book by its cover ❣️📚😉
So Curtis and his band are on your and Lina Is part of the protection detail , things get little more than tense when they’re witness to a lethal stabbing and now the mafia is after him and Lina is now full on protector and the hunt is on , the hunt for blood and the hunt for love , I know it sounds weird but read it and you’ll see where I’m coming from

Lina is very serious and Curtis is a lot more laid back and they bring out the best in each other I think , like yin and Yang ☯️ and I loved watching them find each other in between the twists , suspense and tension of their quest to stay safe . I enjoyed going with them to so many different places and sampling different cuisine 😉🤣it really was just a brilliant read from start to finish !

Although The Cold Kid Case is geared toward a YA audience I was still able to enjoy this fun, cozy mystery. After looking at the cover and reading the blurb about the book I thought it was going to be a little more geared toward young children but that wasn’t the case. We get a good idea of how the 1930’s was and how kids were treated and with Sparky being an 11 year old orphan it definitely wasn’t safe and she had to fight for everything. Told from her point of view it was a wild, entertaining ride to the end.

This duet is an awesome read that I had a hard time putting down. The first book in this duet is Elusive. Alexis and Sheldon’s story is one you don’t want to miss out on. The second book in this Duet is called Tenacious and is Nick and Allie’s story. Both of these stories contain danger, action, strong men and women who have found themselves in a dangerous situation. I have loved everything I have read by this author and this series is no different. Each of these books are filled with great characters. I am kept at the edge of my seat while turning pages. I became completely invested in the outcome of these characters’ story. I know that everytime I pick up a book by this author I will not be disappointed. Every book in this series kept getting better. I am always intrigued by the story line and kept entertained throughout the entire book. I highly recommend reading this, and the entire series you will not regret it. I can’t wait to read my next book by this author.

This book is as good as the first. I can’t wait to continue this series. Ava is falling for Kingston and it’s way more than Stockholm syndrome. Even though Ava is kidnapped her attraction to Kingston and the way he treats her is very confusing for her. I highly recommend this series and to start in order. Really wish I could put more than 5 stars cause I loved it so much.

Sparky is back and this time she is looking for a cannibal on the loose. She has come a long way from the first book in the series. She has a home in the “creepy house” living with Tootsie and Gilbert and she is even going back to school. A cannibal has emerged in Bunker Hills and Tootsie is the main suspect. Sparky wants to clear her name but this time she has no help to solve the mystery. Tootsie likes the publicity she is getting being the prime suspect, Gilbert is busy doing his butler duties, and Bobby is out of town. Sparky is suspicious of everyone.
Sparky meets a 12 year old boy who works at a pet shop and is intrigued by him. She wants to be able to trust him but anyone could be the cannibal. On top of that, Sparky is also trying to find missing jewellery. Will she be able to do it all? Alone?
Even though I wasn’t really fond of the first book in the series, this one was a lot better. I was less irritated with Sparky as the main character. In the first book, I found her rude and annoying but she has come a long way from the feral girl you meet in the first book. I was able to get into the storyline a lot easier with this one.
I also really enjoyed the new characters introduced this time around. The author once again portrayed a comical murder mystery with more zany characters to add to the already colourful mix.

This is the first set of this series. It’s done as a fast paced smexy rom com. With great characters, I’m impatiently waiting for the other novellas to find out if she ends up with my favorite guy.

Sparky is an 11 year old child who was in the wrong place at the wrong time causing her already difficult life harder. She is an orphan living on the streets in the 1930s when she discovered a little girl dead on a park bench. The press and Mayor portrayed Sparky as the murderer. Already hard to come by food and shelter, Sparky now had to avoid the cops. She decides to crash in the “creepy house” thinking no one would look for her there and ends up meeting the homeowner, an actress by the name of Tootsie. Instantly they bonded and Tootsie invited Sparky to hide out in her home.
Sparky is determined to clear her name with the help of her new friends and help from some old ones, she sets off to find the real murderer.
Honestly I disliked Sparky as a character immensely. She was full of contradictions and rude. I know life on the street made her feral but I could not understand her actions a lot of the times. She says she can’t trust anyone and then goes to the same people she mentioned she couldn’t trust. She was constantly disobeying and doing everything alone when she had people who liked and cared for her. I also didn’t like her personality in general.
The author did a good job of making a murder mystery comical and I loved most of the characters, especially Gilbert. Gilbert was the sweetest. Not liking the main character made it hard for me to like the book in general but looking outside of my dislike, the book was well written with a lot of colourful personality.
Lost Soul by Theresa Van Spankeren

I was not sure what to expect from this book especially since it seemed like historical fiction. Then I read the prologue and BAM vampires! There was a lot going on and quite a few characters but it was an original story and I really enjoyed it. The setting is the early 1500s but I felt like it could have been the early 1900s. Julia is 15 and being married off to a man she doesn’t know. She is in love with Adam, the son of a family household servant. Her sister tells her that she doesn’t trust him, her father and brother are pushing her towards him, her mother is just silent and not saying anything. She married Gregory and it didn’t go well. He is abusive and she tries to get away a few times. She meets Adam a few times in the market and has to cover her bruises and hide her face. She finally hits the desperate point of no return and is saved by a stranger who turns out to be a vampire. I enjoyed the characters, the family vibe of the vampires, and even England in the 1500s. Can’t wait to dig into book two!

Elusive Thank goodness Sheldon was there when Alexis was getting harassed by some crazy man in a coffee shop. Alexis didn’t realize then but, Sheldon was going to be around a lot. Luckily she’s a hair stylist and Sheldon needs one for one of his clients. This book was crazy. I can’t believe the stuff that happened in the book. Sheldon and his team are my hero’s! I need more books by this author soon
Tenacious was just so good. I have read a few books by this author but this has got to be my ultimate favorite. This author knows how to give the readers a perfect balance of heat and mystery. This book can be read as a stand-alone if you wanted to. I would recommend reading all the books in the series as they are all great reads.
This book focuses on Allie who is an ER nurse and is very good at her job. Nick is a bodyguard and Nick has other reasons for wanting to be the one to guard Allie. Nick keeps trying to break down Allie and get to the center of who she really is because of his own reasons. Allie is very attracted to
Nick but, tries to keep her distance. This book has a lot of danger, traffickers, romance and action ( both good and bad kinds )
The book was written well, the characters are great and I think the story will definitely keep your attention as It did mine.

I got this book first and then realized that there was a first book. I like when a series follows different characters, you can still read them out of order and it won’t mess you up too much. I ended up waiting to read this one until I finished the first book and I’m glad I did. The main character Claire is living in a small Irish town and working at the bakery that her family owns. She was injured as a child and not confident in herself and also has a lot of fears that she is avoiding in her life. She literally runs into Finn on her way to the castle to deliver cupcakes for a wedding. Finn, whose family used to own the castle, is riding his bike and runs into Claire. He takes her back to the castle to bake and she ends up coming up with an amazing recipe on the spot and bakes and is given the job to bake for the bride. Claire wants to try new things at the bakery but her mom is set in her ways. Finn is an American and sails all around the world. They collide and then take time to get to know each other. Claire has never felt that she would be worthy of a man looking at her and Finn is smitten. This story has baking, magic, Irish charm, and fun characters. I hope there are more in the series because there are so many other characters I would like to get to know better!
