This book was a page-turner. If you’re looking for a story to pull you in, this is the one. I read the last 60% of the book in one sitting. I was a bit worried in the beginning because the main character, Margo, didn’t call to me. However, as the story went on, she had MAJOR character development and it was awesome to follow her growth. This story was unpredictable and was such a roller coaster. The only thing that I wished the story had was a more pronounced timeline, especially towards the end. I loved this story and I will be recommending it to others. I am also going to make sure I read more books from this author.

This is a very intriguing and thought provoking novel with a completely original and unique storyline. It is a metaphysical novel, meaning that much of the story takes place outside of time as we know it. The main character is eighteen year old Danny Anderson who in order to protect the girl he loves from throwing away her dreams of becoming a doctor, decides to make the ultimate sacrifice and he kills himself by running his father’s car into a bridge’s concrete abutment. Following his death the story then follows Danny as he is reunited with his mother Nora, who then acts as his guide helping him reflect on his life and understand himself and others better. The plot then concentrates on going back over his rather tragic life, and we learn how his mother died and the physical abuse he suffered by his drunken father and then his death. Danny then looks back on how his father’s death is seen as suspicious and how he was a suspect. We meet Sade and look at how their relationship developed and resulted in her planning on telling the police that she was responsible for Danny’s father’s death. As he begins to understand the karmic life lessons and the importance of the greater community Nora then guides her son through his many previous lives. These include being a son of a plantation owner in 1775, a blind beggar, a monk, and a former nobleman’s heir in 1349. We also observe his grandmother’s life as a suffragette and his father’s actions during 1971. It’s at this point that I did get a bit confused and felt overwhelmed with all the information, it’s a long book and not a particularly easy read. However, I persevered and am glad that I did as it definitely got me thinking and overall it is an inspirational story.

So this book is number one for the series Devil’s Spawn Daddies. I am hoping that there will be more then this book. I feel like we need to know the other characters as well. In this book, Cutter is the enforcer of the Devil’s Spawn MC. He is known for getting into trouble (at least the cops think that) with the law but that doesn’t mean that there isn’t a soft side to him. Emily Mayhew is a new detective trying to make a name for herself. She is basically the only female detective on the force. While trying to make a name for herself, she falls hard for Cutter. Now the question is: Does Cutter feel the same way? While reading this I learned a few new things about age-play and what a middle is. I am recommending this book to all who fantasize about having a “Daddy”….There are parts of the story that are more visual but this allows you to connect to the characters. Its not a good book if you are unable to visualize what is happening to the characters. As stated before, I really hope that there is more to this series.

The first book in this series and WOW! This was a very quick read but it really packed a punch. It was stuffed with a LOT in a little bit. It was intense and emotional. It kept me hooked the entire story and I flew through the pages. The author is an amazing story teller. I cannot wait to read more in the series!
The animals at the beach have to clean up the messes the humans leave behind. Wonderful storytelling, wonderful illustrations, wonderful lessons for kids and adults alike. G Pa Rhymes does it again. These books are great!

When I started this book I thought it was going to be a cheesy romance book. The teen coming of age type of book. But it was so much more. I was hooked immediately. Every turn of the page just put me deeper in. I thought the authors did a great job touching upon the difference of cultures between Mei and Marcus. The romance between the two was very natural and sweet. The secret behind Nick, her parents! Mind blown and we just touched the tip of the iceberg. I really cannot wait for the sequel. I shoulda given it a 4 for making me have all the feels and leaving me hanging the way you did but …I guess that’s why you deserve the 5. Just so you know I am mad about all the feelings that you made me have while reading this book. I was happy, I remember that just falling in love feeling, the hormones racing making out with my then boyfriend, the anger I felt at Nick (the stupid jerkface!), and the shock at Mei Li’s mom. Oh, almost forgot to mention the love for and humor from Guo Mama. She was almost my favorite character.
Mei Li moved to the United States when she was 8 years old with her parents. She lives in Chinatown, San Francisco. Her parents own and run a local Chinese/Taiwanese restaurant. She has friends in the neighborhood, goes to the Chinese speaking neighborhood school, works at the family restaurant, and has a crush on the boy around the corner. Mei Li was a typical senior in high school. Except her family expected her to marry a family friend that was 7 years older than her.
Marcus Miller (or as Guo Mama called him “Marcus Miller”) was not a typical high school senior. Marcus was a straight A student, star soccer player, but did not date. He made a deal with his father freshman year of highschool to avoid girls, girlfriends and mess that his father said came with girls. If Marcus accomplished this feat, his father would buy him a motorcycle. One day while visiting Guo Mama, Marcus met Mei Li. Marcus was smitten. They started exchanging notes until Marcus finally got brave enough to give Mei Li his phone number. They both fell so fast.
The relationship should not be a problem for either one except for the secrets each is keeping. As Mei and Marcus spend more time together, the closer they become. The more dangerous their relationship becomes. When the secrets start to boilover, Mei Li must make some difficult choices. The biggest and hardest involves Marcus. When the choices are made, it may surprise you.
I was shocked at the ending. I can’t believe that was how it ended. I have so many questions. Is it too much to hope for a sequel?? I want to know what happened to Mei Li’s father. What does Mei Li do with all the info from the envelope? And so many other things. This was a beautifully written story. The teenage angst dripped from every page. Not my usual but tremendously enjoyed!!!

Marcus has seen his father have disaterous luck in relationships and finds himself making a bet not to get caught up in any girls. That all changes one day when these two have a chance meeting at the one spot they share in common. Marcus wants to honor the bet but he is also finding himself wanting the relationship. This book was definitely a bit outside of what I have been reading lately but it was a nice change up. I like the way the story flowed and how we got to see things from each character POV. Normally I am not a huge fan of that however the authors made that part flow effortlessly and it was not an issue. It started out a bit slow but picked up in no time. This was such a cute YA read. I really enjoyed the characters and how they came together, passing notes and sneaking more time to see each other whenever possible. I loved Mama Guo sort of pushing them in the right direction to make the moves they were afraid to. Marcus is focused on trying to graduate school, earn a motorcycle from his dad, and keep away from girls. But Mei pulls him in and he can’t resist. Mei feels like she owes another man (Nick) whatever he wants from her because he helped her stay in the country and is helping her career, but everyone can see that he’s up to no good and he is gross and abusive toward her. Praying on her before she was even of legal age. There are a few scenes in the story that might be triggering so just be aware or read through it before giving it to your teen but in the end it was such a great read and I really enjoyed it. Would definitely read more from this author, and I do hope there’s a part two to this story in particular.

Be prepared to ignore everything in your life to read this book cover to cover, because that is exactly what I did.
Mei Li’s family is traditional and they expect certain things from her. The first is for her to marry. She’s only a senior in HS and her family has their expectations, none of her hopes and dreams matter.
Marcus is also a senior in HS, he is also having to deal with parental pressure, while they’re not as bad as Mei Li’s they are still pretty unreasonable.
This was so much more than a young adult romance. There was danger & suspense while these kids dealt with more then anyone their age should.

This YA story has a great romance story and mystery behind it. It focuses on Max, an up and rising soccer star with many future prospects in his path, and Mei Li, a hard worker who is being threatened to keep her life as is for her family’s sake. Even though Max and Mei Li have grown up in the same neighborhood they have barely spoken to one another until a chance conversation and the start of passing notes via fortune cookies. I’ve always had a soft spot for romance stories where one feels inadequate of being admired, especially by those who are admired by many. They end up a more heartfelt connection as they start investing in time with the other and the circumstances that follow them. Mei Li starts opening up on the circumstances that follow her family and she must do what she can to protect them. This is a great story and recommended to anyone who enjoys the romance as well as the intrigue behind Mei Li’s story.

Really enjoyed this series. Quick reads with lots of surprises and plot twists. So much happens, it’s hard to put down! I was surprised about some of the action in this book, wasn’t expecting it but it really made the story. This one out of the series was jam packed with lots of action but also answers to wrap stuff up. Glad the series is just beginning even though moving on to another couple! Bring more on!

Such a good read. this is the second book of Victoria’s I have read and she does her research well, which is refreshing when reading about MC’s and BDSM/kinks. There are some trigger warnings and tropes involved that some may not be comfortable with. I think for me, Emily’s character development was the main thing that made the book! I would highly recommend this book! Fantastic read.
In this very spicy read, Weston is looking for a roommate. He finds much more than he bargains for when he finds two perfect roommates. The three find that they are very compatible and begin living life together. Weston, Callum and Petra help one another through hard times and form an amazing bond. A great book for Group Hug day!!

This is book one in Hidden Valley Elite, now I will say that there is a prequel, Savage Start and although I highly recommend that you read it you will be fine if you don’t. It is a well written, high school enemies to lover’s romance. Charaters are well written and will keep you wanting more. Lots of drama, bullying, lies, jealousy, secrets, love and hate. Definitely a good read.

Delayed Redemption is the 3rd book in the DAG Team series, but the first one I read. While it mostly can be enjoyed as a stand alone, I was a little disappointed that “DAG” was not identified til almost 3/4 of the way through the book. I tried googling it so many ways, and still couldn’t figure out what it was. I clearly didn’t read the last line of the summary- “this is a steamy romance for readers 18+” That is a very true statement. I liked the plot of the book, but thought the romance was a little over done for my liking, and more than I expected based on the cover and the summary. The book has a good story line and good amount of suspense and danger. The friendships Mateo has with his DAG team is solid and a good family for him. I liked that Janey had moments of bravery and strength, not always being a timid girl of her youth. I want to go back and read book one of the series, since I really liked Kit.

Having read the previous 2 books I was rather keen to get stuck into this one because you read of the different family members and you get furious don’t you , so when the opportunity comes knocking to discover more you grab it 😉
Two things that bring families together , weddings and funerals . Fortunately in this instance it’s a wedding ! Yay ! So Teresa is getting married and David her brother , who’s been working in Africa , joins them in Port Townsend . Something is off though , he doesn’t seem himself and there’s a fiancé in tow ….
Family friend , Maddie catches his eye and you can feel the tension between them and David is having a tough time fighting his desires and walking on eggshells to keep Sylvie happy….
Maddie being an actress has an opportunity with the local theatre and she feels she can’t pine after David forever and she catches the eye of Kilo….
There’s so much to love about this book but what really gets me and what I appreciate is the “ humanness “ of the characters , they’re real , their issues are real and they work through them 🥰
