The Missing Red Envelopes by Yobe Qiu – Review by Deborah Joseph
The Missing Red Envelopes by Yobe Qiu
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
The Missing Red Envelope by Yobe Qiu is based in New York City and is about the Lunar New Year. The story is about two sisters, Lorie- 13 and Weina- 9, and their lost lucky envelope. They had been trying to save up to buy their grandmother a present. The older sister didn’t show her anger though, and instead tried thinking of resolutions to try and find the lost lucky envelope. This is such a cute story that not only goes into detail to educate children on the Lunar New Year and their traditions, but is also a lesson that teaches if you just stop, breathe, and think you can resolve issues, but that you should also talk with your parents about them as well for help.
