This book was a cute, well written kid chapter book. I read it with my nephew over the weekend 🥰 and it was a quick, but still fantastic read. This is the first time picking up a story by this author and we’re definitely going to be reading the rest of Kris’s adventures. I loved the message of this story, because yes not every girl wants to be a princess and that’s okay(but glad she doesn’t mind it in the end from her dad). I totally understood her,I was that way, so I would’ve loved to have read this when I was younger. I also loved the fun adventure she goes on to save the prince and seeing all the cool friends she made along the way. I can’t wait to read the rest of these stories 🥰 ps the photos at the beginning of each chapter are awesome, they help with trying to picture the characters.

This is the first book from The Borosa Legacy series. I enjoyed the idea of enchanted bees in this story and it captured my attention from the beginning. Amese of Animalis is full of adventure and magic. This novel is targeted for 10-14 year olds but I enjoyed reading it as an adult!

Great children’s book for young children. It is very colorful, and the illustrations are very cute. The story tells about Mr. Bonbon is trying to figure out a way to stop Annabelle from stealing his candy from his candy factory. He sets a trap, and she falls for it. Very cute story.

The Ghostly Diva by Sandra L. Young is a romance novel about a Museum assistant director ( Justine Saunders) who can see and speak with ghost. While appraising items at Jackson Maddox’s request, she stumbles on to a family secret. Meanwhile her job may be in jeopardy due to budget cuts. While trying to navigate her own life, she helps Jackson navigate the revelations of his family and may be falling in love.
I absolutely love Justine. Shes smart, tactful and sweet. She’s open to change and she’s helpful. Jackson once the layers are peeled back is a real stand up guy. The supporting characters all have great personalities and you definitely get that small town feel. Everyone knows your business but they have your best interest at heart. The Ghost in the story is spunky, fierce and very insightful.
I highly recommend this story for any romance reader. There is some adult content but it isn’t too raunchy. I smiled slot while reading the book. The interactions between the characters are delightful. 5 stars!

A Song of Salt and Secrets (Mythic Academy Collection) by Amanda Marin. This is somewhat sad, young adult, Paranormal read. It’s the story of Corisande who is a special type of siren that this supposed to use her song to kill sailors but she hates the thought of killing anyone. Corisande has attended Magwitch Academy trying to learn to control her song and she has to come extent but when she accidentally causes Noah to wreck his boat and he is injured which devastates Coriande. Trying to nurse him back to health they are both drawn to each other and feelings do occur. Can she keep that part of herself hidden from Noah and can he be the one person to help her control it. She loves to sing and its so hard to lose that part of herself. This is such a fun, Paranormal read. Even though this is the 2nd book it can be read as a standalone. I really enjoyed it.

Master Oradea (Masters of the Consulate Book 10) by Sylvia Black. This is the 10th installment in the Masters of the Consulate series and while they don’t have to be read in order, I highly recommend it. In this book its the story of Oradea & Natalia and the story is told from both their perspectives. Master Oradea is very angry because he has found out Lucas who is Overmaster Descallia’s right hand man, is a traitor. Lucas’s mate is even being treated as a enemy even though she has always fought for the vampires. Oradea is on the hunt for the rogue because he can’t afford for their secrets to be found out. He knows that if their secrets are revealed it will put them all in danger. When a beautiful red head, Natalia puts herself in harms way, Oradea is intrigued and knows he must save her. When Natalia uses her magic it puts a light on things that should have been left in the dark and exposes them all to danger. Will they be able to accept they are fated mates and will they be able to stop the evil from destroying everything around them? Read this Paranormal fantasy to find out!

This is the first book I’ve found to read in this series, but it won’t be the last. From the world-building that is done and shared here in book 10, I look forward to starting at the beginning and watching all of the characters and scenarios build.
Master Oradea seeks out rogue vampires and shifters in this vampire mafia dark romance. He is currently trying to figure out how to handle the traitorous actions of Lucas, Master Descallia’s right hand man. Everyone is on edge and unsure of who is trustworthy. When Lucas requests safety within the borders of Oradea’s territory, he refuses. When Master Oradea decides to seek out the help from the new family of the Syndicate brothers to catch the rogues and avoid the war amongst the supernatural, they are leery of getting involved until their younger sister is threatened and offer their help if Master Oradea takes Natalia and protects her.
Natalia and Master Oradea immediately spark off of one another when he just wants her to listen, and she wants to do anything BUT listen to him. While we are led to believe that Natalia is only human, she proves to have powers of her own for Oradea to contend with on top of her defiance of him and secrets she keeps. The included tropes are vampires/shifters/witches/fated mates/paranormal worlds, enemies to lovers, suspense, tension, magic, chemistry, rogue attacks, betrayal, passion, and so much more. It’s unfair to place this beautiful world down into a series of tropes when it is so much more. Really looking forward to jumping in at book 1!

The first book in the series was a delightful read, and this one was even more enjoyable. I found myself completely immersed in the story, eagerly turning the pages to see what would happen next. It was a truly satisfying experience.
Banks and Kaitlyn met at the airport 10 years ago and shared a sweet, memorable flight together. Little did they know they would meet again, and a misunderstanding would color their relationship for the next decade. Gone was the sweetness and bitterness, and possibly hate replaced it. Now, all they do is snipe at one another.
Banks is the oldest player on his hockey team, and his reputation isn’t the greatest either. He has just been dropped by his agent and desperately needs another one before he is traded. It looks like his old enemy, Kaitlyn, holds his fate in her hands. If anyone can turn his reputation around and make him into “the golden boy,” it’s her. She also wants to stick it to Banks’s ex-agent as he is her old boss and always treats her differently because she is a woman. Can they put aside their differences for their common goal? What’s with the annoying attraction they are beginning to feel for each other?
I was deeply moved by Banks and Kaitlyn’s journey. They were a couple in the making, even if they were oblivious to it. The realization that their past misunderstanding had clouded their perceptions of each other was a poignant moment. Banks was not the immature ‘man child’ she had labeled him, and she was not the ‘ice queen’ he had believed her to be. Their gradual falling in love was a beautifully crafted slow burn that I couldn’t help but root for.
As I said, I’m a huge fan of this series This fabulous writing team keeps getting better! They created a great pair of main characters and a hilarious cast of secondary ones. I can’t wait to see what the next book holds.

An enjoyable and engaging read which kept me happily turning the pages. Barbara, a confident Black lawyer balances her career within the NYC corporate world with family expectations. Sadly whilst her career is going well her engagement ends leaving her heartbroken. Barbara decides to go alone to the island paradise where the wedding was going to be, as the destination wedding is non-refundable. Here she meets Sebastian, also a lawyer and they have an instant connection. Although they come from different worlds, Barbara from a moneyed background and Sebastian from a poor family the couple see past their differences. Sebastian is then given the job meant for Barbara and she suspects it’s due to racial discrimination. When Barbara challenges her boss in court the couple find themselves on opposite sides of the battle. However, although Sebastian is supportive of Barbara their love is tested as they decide what they will risk for justice. I was hooked throughout by this fast paced contemporary romance, which along with a spicy love story also deals with social justice. I love that Barbara is a strong, independent heroine who is not afraid to stand up for what she believes in. The chemistry between her and Sebastian really came across in the narrative, and I liked how their relationship developed throughout the story.

This book is a brilliant addition to the series and I found it to be fun and entertaining right from the start. The book is definitely all about the characters and their connection. I found it so easy to relate to them both. They were engaging and I loved watching their connection develop. The book is a really well written story and really fits in with the rest of the series well. The author builds up the story as the book goes on and I found myself invested in the outcome. I really enjoyed everything about the book and I it definitely made me want to read more from this author in the future.

This is a prequel to the Echo Series. This is a story with a bit of a puzzle that needs to be put together. Amanda works very hard to figure it out. At first I thought she was over the top with worry but as the story moves along I realize it is just her personality. Gene is a guy who is looking for something different. He possibly has a chance at something new but he just needs to overcome a hardhead. Overall I felt this was okay. I struggled to connect to them and their relationship did not wow me. The story is different in the respect that the suspenseful parts did not happen to main character.

Master Oradea by Sylvia Black is the tenth book in the Master of the Consulate series. This is the first book that I read in the series and not my normal read bur I do have to say that I now want to read it all. I was taken by the characters, the world created by the author, and I could not put it down. The book was filled with so much from chemistry, twists, and betrayal. In this book you will find witches, vampires, shifters, and humans. Master Oradea needs to protect Natalia from the rogues are captured. Right away there is an attraction between them. He wants to keep her safe and she knows she will one day need to use what her grandmother taught her. Can everyone work together? Can everyone stay safe? A must read that I highly recommend!

Barbara- A very strong woman who was taught from a very young age to always strive for the best and be the best at everything. When her engagement ended she felt like a failure but wanted to focus on her career until that took a nose dive as well. While her life was coming apart she had to learn how to be her real self, not what she thought was expected of her, and fight for what was right.
Sebastian- Tall, handsome, and tats! Sign me up! He has had to work hard for everything he wants since he wasn’t born with a silver spoon in his mouth.
The MCs meet at a destination wedding and she has no problems telling him how good-looking he is. She is still recovering from finding her fiance in bed with another but hits it off with the MMC and they decide to try to start a relationship. When she returns home she finds out that the promotion she had been working hard to get, and should be hers, was given to the MMC who was an outsider. She was then fired, as well as other employees of color, and sues the law firm to get justice for everyone. This makes it hard for the MCs to be with each other since they are on opposite sides of the lawsuit, taboo/ breaking the rules.
As someone who is in an interracial relationship, it was refreshing to read a story where the MCs were too. Not only that but also touched on subjects most will shy away from, which is very brave of the author. This was the first book I have read from Paulette Stout, but won’t be the last. 3.5 stars

The third book I have gotten my girls from Lois Wickstrom and like always the illustrations are beautiful. I got this book because my youngest loves bunnies, hopping around like one, and thought that’s what it was about but there’s only a small part that has bunnies and it’s just a candy (marshmallow) bunny. I’m not really sure how to feel about this book though and glad my kids didn’t get into this one like they do all of her other books. I feel as if the story is saying it’s ok to steal without consequences because adults will be too lazy to go through with any plans to deter it. My kids are too young to understand that and I did read it in a silly way for them so they didn’t pick up on that, especially when the little girl tricked the adult into getting what she wanted.

Sure as Hell is part of the Life is Hell series. This one follows the story of Larkspur and Jaru. The characters from the previous books are part of the story as well but this one is about their love story. Jaru is an imp and Larkspur is a pixie. They have a strong friendship that has turned into something more but will they make it through when someone from Jaru’s past shows up and tries to steal Larkspur so he can sell him?
Ive read all the previous books before this one. Naomi has a unique style of writing that I really enjoy. Her stories have a lot of detail but are also short reads. I like how even though each book is about a different set of characters and she is always introducing new ones, she still adds more about previous characters and keeps them in the story even as supporting characters. If you want a short read (I can read the Life is Hell books in an hour or 2) I recommend checking these out. It’s a great new take of fantasy.

This is book 2 in the Hot Flash Hookups Series. I loved the first book and this one was just as good. This is a sports romcom with a enemies to lovers theme. What I love about these books is the authors writing of the characters. The banter between them had me laughing out loud on more than one occasion. I also love how the female lead are of an older age and going through menopause and all the joys that women go through around that time. It really makes the characters feel human and relatable.
This is Banks and Kaitlyn’s story. When a chance meeting and a delay at an airport put Kaitlyn and Banks together there was no denying the chemistry and attraction between them. But with them going their seperate ways thats the end of their connection right? So imagine Kaitlyn’s surprise when the hockey player she is representing turns out to play in the same team as Banks Kaitlyn knows she needs to remain professional at all costs. And the animosity between them gradually grows. Fast forward and Banks finds himself in need of a new agent. Kaitlyn is definitely the woman he needs to turn his career around but can they work together to achieve that or will the animosity that’s build up between them cause more issues? As well as fighting her attraction to a guy she can not have Kaitlyn is also suffering with symptoms of perimenopuase. With all this going on does she even stand a chance of sorting this man-baby out? And what happens when temptation becomes to much will they give in to it?

Interesting and wonderful, short, young adult book. I really felt for both Corisande and Noah. Both had rich lives with friends, and families that cared for them, but they were both lonely. Lonely until they found each other. Corisande is a special type of siren, although her siren song is supposed to lure sailors to their death, she doesn’t want anyone to die, so when Noah gets hurt, she is devastated. I appreciate her wanting to confess everything to Noah, but I can tell she is falling for him and doesn’t want to lose what she is building with him. Noah’s mom is a hinderance but I understand her need to keep her son safe after what happened to her husband. The story is short and sweet, Noah and Corisande are super cute together and I was nervous about their fight Aphrodite, but excited to see how everything turned out in the end.

Laura passed a bookstore , went in and started browsing and the way she describes it I could just smell and touch those books 🥰📚 anyhoo Angela approaches her and it’s almost an instant friendship that is formed . They go for coffee , chat about books and the idea of starting a book club , they’ll meet once a month , share dinner and their thoughts on said book ( sounds heavenly ) and that’s how “Boomer Babes Book Club “ is started and let me tell you what this really is an enjoyable bunch of ladies and you just want to climb into the book and be part of their posse !
These girls are more or less the same age but in different phases of life and when it’s her turn she chooses Rebecca and this lead her to research more of her family tree which in turn then led to her trip to the UK 🇬🇧
Now that’s she’s in the UK things really get interesting and it just reminded me that you’re never to old for love and sone really good wine and dining 🥰and hello nobody can be immune to that British accent ! I did warn her if she didn’t fall for x’s charms I’d take him 🤣🥰

There are not a lot of books that deal with the tough subject of foster care. This is a great one with beautiful illustrations for children! Loris has been through a lot in his short life. He has completely shut down because of it. He moves in with a foster family and just refuses to participate in anything. Find out how he opens up in this beautiful and heartwarming story. There is a lot of emotions dealt with in this book. From anger, to frustration, pain and loneliness. You will see courage and standing up to a bully.

I will start off by saying this is the second in the series. If you haven’t read the first, I recommend it. When I saw this book was out, I was not hesitant for even a moment before grabbing it. To me, this is the perfect Lifetime/Hallmark type of romance story, albeit much better. Sofia gets her turn and her story brought more to life. She meets Isaiah, who seems to be mysterious. Their conversations at first are fun and witty. They aren’t immediate friends. It’s more of an enemy to lovers story. This is a magical, holiday story. A perfect read for a cozy night.
I have read a few books on this author and she always surprises us with her writing. I love a good cozy fantasy but this book exceeded my expectations. This is the second book in the amazing emerald hollow series. This can be read as a stand alone but there are previous characters in this story as well. I could not put this book down until the end. It only took me a few hours to devour this amazing story. I can’t wait to see what she will write about next.
Sofia Reyes is a resident of the very magical Emerald Hollow. She loves her hometown and her job. Sofia is very intrigued by the very handsome mystery man that comes into town. He has no memory of who he is or where he is. She wants to help him but she starts to feel a connection like no other to him. Sofia wants to know Isaiah’s story but is it too dangerous?
Come Home to Death is a Romantic Suspense that is packed with drama, suspense, action, danger and so much more. This is my first book by this author but it’s definitely not my last. The characters are interesting and developed and make the story come to life. The twists and turns had me turning the pages trying to figure out what was going to happen next. Erica’s world has been turned upside when her husband disappeared and then thugs show up at her door. She does what anyone would do and fleed back to her hometown where she finds even more trouble. Someone is out to get her. I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I can’t wait to read more from this Author.

This is book two of the series and I did read read book one but this can be read as a standalone. I love hockey so I knew I would like them howeber you dont even need to like it. These books have hockey, laughter, romance and conflict. Ben & Kaitlyn hit it off it at the airport but once they see each other on the ice , are they sure they can get along and nake it work.

The Rake is the first book in the Daughter’s of Dishonor series by Ava Bond. This is a fun historical romance, set in 1813, which has all the historical elements, tone, and feel that really enabled this story to come to life. I was transported through time to follow alongside the characters as their story unfolded. The story is charged with intrigue, suspense, mystery, chemistry, tension, angst, secrets, drama, danger, sizzling encounters, humour, a quest, and emotion- making for an engrossing and memorable read. Margot Keating travels to London for the first time- she’s a sensible, wholesome country girl, the daughter of a vicar, who is in for quite the adventure, the likes of which she could never have predicted. When a murder occurs on her first night in town, she takes chase, and is drawn into an investigation that pits her against a wily killer- where a bit of a cat and mouse games ensues, leading her on a merry chase all around the city. The stakes are high, with not only her life, but her reputation, and ‘future’ also at risk. She is determined to get to the bottom of it all and uncover the truth- something she feels might be achievable, especially now she has an unlikely ally along for the ride. Guardians. It sounds so ominous right? In this additional book of this series, you find the characters’ lore states Guardians disappeared without a trace after stealing all sorcerer’s magic, yet the truth is far different.
The ridiculously powerful world building in this book reflects a hateful existence if you wield magic, forcing those with gifts to keep them hidden from the world.
This is a great addition to this series and fans of it will have no problem picking up from where this story begins. The fantasy fiction YA series is full of magic, drama, fear and struggle. It’s a classic twist on the infamous good vs evil plot. It is created beautifully by the author and I think this may be the best book of the series.
The art work for the cover is stunningly dark but beautiful. It really brings your eye to focus on what is seen and stir questions of what this book will be about.
I think fiction fans will love this book and series even if fantasy YA is not your most read genre.
