Make Me Want to Love You by N.D. Jackson is the second book in the Love in Emerald Creek series. This book can be read as a stand-alone, as the author does a great job filling in the blanks if you have yet to read the first book. Shayna is a divorced, single mom of 2 children. She is learning how to juggle all the hats she must wear. She has a great support system with her best friend Dre and Burke, Dre’s business partner and best friend. Shayna and Burke are attracted to each other but of course, Shayna tries to fight it. Shayna is a relatable character. We watch her struggle with her feelings of inadequacy as a mother. We also see her desire for Burke war with her desire to keep safe. I enjoyed Burke’s POV as well. He is a great guy and we get to see his depths. There were quite a few moments that made me smile. The chemistry between Burke and Shayna was great. This was a nice romance/ found family story. It makes you feel good.
