Flying At Recess by Lois Wickstrom is a cute children’s fantasy story with a ‘flying adventure’, friendship, school recess fun, and interesting & colourful illustrations. The illustrations are really cute and beautifully colourful – bringing the story to life. They really held my grandchildren’s attention. We follow Soara as she takes to the skies during recess at school. Her friends Lulu and Zanie get a bit worried when she hasn’t returned by the time they need to be back in class. Will Soara make it back safely? The story was cute, even if it doesn’t make much sense to me – as no ‘reason’ was given for Soara’s ability to fly. Was she daydreaming? Or does she have ‘magical/superpowers’? And if she does have ‘powers’ why not take her friends along for the fun? Why leave them behind? I just felt like the story was ‘unresolved’- but my 3-year-old grandson and granddaughter seemed to like it nonetheless. Happy reading…

When I first read this book I was a little leery sine I don’t read MM very often, but I’m really glad I picked up this book. The chemistry between Gilgamesh and Enkidu was absolutely beautiful. It is by far my most favorite LGBTQ+ book to date. The healthy polyamory that is depicted between Gilgamesh and his wife Shamat and her relationships made me absolutely weep for joy. Those two are a forced to be reckoned with. I have never heard the story of Gilgamesh, so reading this book was very interesting! Although that cliffhanger at the end???? Definitely took me out. I loved, and laughed and absolutely wanted to throttle the characters a few times in the book, but what good book doesn’t make you want to do that? The word and character building was phenomenal and I can’t wait to see how it ends!

Her first AKC Champion was a Greater Swiss Mountain Dog, Ch Dixieland Blazing Maximus, CGC, HIT, SS, SWET, WETT, HIC, WETX, WTXX, WPD, DD, WWDS, RN, CD, THDA, VGS, 2017 GSMDCA Ambassador of the Breed, “Mouse.” Mouse was the first Greater Swiss Mountain Dog to earn any Water Rescue titles, and he was spokesdog for the Keep Austin Dog Friendly trend for many years appearing in magazines, news clips, and serving the community as an animal assisted therapy dog. Keep Austin Dog Friendly was nominated for a Webby Award in 2016.
In addition to Greater Swiss Mountain Dogs, she also owns a pride of Lowchen or The Little Lion Dogs. Giselle has owned several mastiffs over the past 20 years, some from reputable breeders and others she rescued as adults. Her experience with rescuing and fostering mastiffs led her to become interested in socialization as a way of preventing future issues. She enjoys working with her dogs and has trained them in various canine sports such as carting, conformation, agility, rally, trick dog, nose work, and more. Her puppy, Porter, is an example of the success of early socialization, having earned multiple performance dog titles and even starred in a movie directed by Marian Yeager called “Match Me If You Can.”

Having read multiple books by author Naomi Valkyrie, I’d say she has done it again. Another fantastic book that I made quick work of, finishing in no time. Although not my usual trope, the love story of Dorian and Augustine made me forfeit all about that. This book had me on an emotional up and downs. From laughter to tears I was really waiting til the end to finally see if that got their HEA. I mean it was fated to be because what were the chances of their wives becoming quick friends lol. It has forbidden love ,suspense, drama and romance/polyamory. You will totally love it. I definitely recommend reading this 100% hands down . The more the merrier right? lmao
Catch A Cowboy is the second book in Rachelle Paige Campbell’s Match Made in Montana series but it could also be read as a standalone. I love the small town feel in this book. It’s a quick, fun ready that’s super cute. The character development is done flawlessly. Ted and Stephanie have amazing chemistry. I enjoyed the fact that the main characters learned life lessons along the way instead of just looking for romance. This book is a must read!

I really enjoyed this book! I love Dinopotamus and how fun he is in school. I loved how him and all the kid learned how Opposite Day works! I love that he plays with the kids and has a lot of fun! I’m gonna definitely read this book to my 3 year old! It’s something I definitely think he’d enjoy.
Another great read by a favorite author! My favorite thing about this book (ok, so there are 2 things) is that there is a person in a wheelchair featured. It’s rare that this is seen in a children’s book but so very important as it opens up avenues for conversation. My second favorite thing about this book is the hand drawn and colored illustrations. I feel that it makes this book more authentic.
Dinopotamus is going to school again today but it’s “opposite day”. The teacher instructs everyone to the opposite of what she says. At first, it’s a bit confusing to Dinopotamus, but then it becomes more enjoyable.

This was a fun read! I’ve read a few books by this author before so i knew i would like this one as well. This is the first book in the Lover Burns series and i hope there is more! I was pulled in from page one and stuck around because i liked this authors writing style and the main characters were likeable and funny. Whiskey Throttle is Book 6 in the Moto X series…and I love this series and recommend reading from the beginning, but can I say….this story was heart-wrenching and intense…the emotions on this of how I feel…when you have everything right in front of you…until you could lose it all in a flash. Megan and Parker bring a beautiful little girl in the world and all Parker wants to do is be the best father he can be. With past trauma that haunts him….and not dealing with them…things spiral downhill. As this happens, he is on the verge to lose everything including Megan and their daughter. Will Parker be able to over come what haunts him and make way to getting the assistance he needs to be better….

Opposite Day for Dinopotamus was another fun children’s book by Lois Wickstrom. I always admire this author’s ability to craft a fun story while instilling knowledge. While reading this with my daughter, I remembered the childhood joy of insisting it was Opposite Day and giggling when someone said or did something ridiculous. This was a fun way to teach opposites and enjoy some great illustrations.

While this was a bit different from other books I have read by this author, it was still incredibly well written and enjoyable. I like stories that center around rockstar romances, so this one was right up my alley. Little did I know that it was also heart-wrenching and would have me in tears. It is definitely an emotional rollercoaster but one I would still go on knowing what lies ahead. Our two main characters loved each other as kids and after reconnecting finds that all isn’t as it seems. The addictions portrayed were realistic and painful, as well as the heartbreak. While I did want to shake some sense into the characters sometimes, their development was still well done. It goes to show that everyone has flaws and makes mistakes. I recommend picking this up if you enjoy books with hard truths, dramatic scenes, and life-like portrayal of complicated emotions. I can’t wait to see what this author has in store for us next!

The Husbands by Naomi Valkyrie. This is such a good read. Its fairly short but it packs a big punch. Its the story of Dorian who is a married assassin and he’s really good at his job. One night in Miami he is set to take a kill shot and someone walks in front of him and is accidentally hit. His name is Augustine and he is so shocked. Being in the wrong place at the wrong time is Augustine’s life story. He ends up in the hospital and Dorian who takes on odd jobs at different time is assigned as Augustine’s physical therapist. Spending so much time together even thought they are both married to women they realize there is a real chemistry between them. Years later their wives become friends and they are thrown together again. While their wives become best friends they are together more and more and the feelings come racing back. Not being able to hide it the wives are bound to find out. What will happen when it does come out? Will their marriages survive or will they finally take a chance on being together?
Opposite Day for Dinopotamus by Lois Wickstrom was such a good book! My girls love all of her books so I knew this would be a great one for them. As always, such a cute story and easy for toddlers to follow!

Reconnecting loves, 80s all-male rock bands, stardom, drugs and rock n’ roll are just the tip of the iceberg of attention grabbers for me to pick up this selection! There are quite a bit of flashbacks along the way between main characters of Daniela and Nick from the 70s when they first met as young teenagers and then now into the 80s in early adulthood. Nick has been part of his band, Moonlight Drive, and touring and it has consumed his lifestyle in everything he does. Daniela or Dani finds the group and appears to be a groupie but is pursuing her own passions of singing and songwriting as well as reacquainted with her lost first love. Nick’s band touring habits leaves him with past memories lost of what he once had. Very good entertaining read!

This is a second chance story and it comes with baggage. I enjoyed the story and the characters faults and all. The author nailed it, it was a quick read for me and that is a plus. Holy Smoke! This book just pulled me in and those last few chapters? I could NOT PUT this book DOWN until I reached the end. While its a soft ending( because there is another book) I did get some answers but after reading the acknowledgements….I think the next one will be crazier and dare I say scarier. This one has a lot of unknown and there were many moments where I had chills and was enthralled, scared (just like the characters) and looking for untrustworthy words from them all.
This is one suspenseful story! This is book 2 of the series and I highly suggest reading the first as this one takes place right after and there are many references to what previously happened. Looking forward to the next book as I am eager for all the answers on that house.

Marder Mystery, amusement park, and cats! What a combo, but this book was great! This is book one in the series and boy was it enough to hook you in and be left wanting more! I can’t wait to read the rest of the series. I loved how different it was! The felines and the cleaning staff keep the Fairytale Forest theme park clean and rodent free. When a night shift worker named Cat (Catherine) follows Zoe (one of the cats) to the park’s main street, they find a manager strangled to death. Of course her 50 year old self and her friend Gloria are at the top of the suspect list. Just having a complaint against them didn’t help. With the help of her new feline friends, Cat must solve this murder! She has to clear her name. Yeah she didn’t like the lady, but she didn’t hate her so much that she’d kill her!! Working with cats to solve a murder. These ladies can’t resist a good mystery, but will they walk right into the murderers clutches as they investigate. Who will die next?! This book will have you not wanting to put it down! I kind of thought about who the killer would be and it was in my top few, but it was still so good. OMG!! So this is the first book I have read from Manda, it will not be my last one. I’m hoping to read more from her soon. Chaz and Helo’s story is heart retching and yet so familiar. Not really wanting to settle down, Chaz is thrown off by his emotional connection to Helo. Helo is former pilot for the military and is now trying to stay alive while trying to escape from someone who is trying to hurt her. Does Helo find a way to keep herself safe or does she put herself into more harms way by falling for the Prez of an MC Club? You have to read to find out!!!

It has been a while since I have read any of the books in this series and this book did a fantastic job at reminding me just how much I enjoyed it. I instantly connected to this story and loved getting to know the characters. I was drawn to Parker with ease and I wanted to see how things would turn out. The story is an interesting one that develop naturally as it progressed. This author has a writing style that I always enjoy and this book, and series, is a big part of why. I would definitely recommend this book.

This is a contemporary romance set in the 80s/90s. It is a very moving story and has plenty of drama and angst as well as dealing with topics such as addiction. The authors character development was great and I really felt drawn into the lives of Nick and Dani. Both of them have had a rough start in life but they found comfort and love and a sense of safety with each other at a young age. Fast forward and Nick is now part of a band just like he dreamed off and with Dani now old enough she leaves and follows his tour disgused as a groupie. However the Nick she knew has changed and what is in his place is a man who fully embraced the rock and roll life, including the drinking, drugs and women. With Nick being in a constant brain fog he has no idea that the young girl he fell in love with all those years ago is right in front of him. After Dani witnessed Nick going through several relapses she decides to follow her dream and with the aid of Nick’s band she starts to make her own way in the music world. However her heart never leaves Nick. Can she save him the way he saved her all those years ago? How will he react when he realises just who Dani is and why she seems to familiar to him? Will the love they once shared still exist or does the Nick that Dani knew before the game, partying and drugs not exist anymore? This is an emotional and at times heartbreaking story but will love and music bring them together while addiction is trying to tear them apart.
Salt Love by Marika Ray – Review by Karrie Sears This one was hard to put down! From the beginning of the book with Kenna in the board room meeting, the first few days of meeting Dec, I couldn’t help but laugh at some of those moments and banter. The way that Kenna transforms from a quiet pushover to regaining control and grabbing life by the horns and standing up for what she wants in life is inspiring. Marika Ray ranks up there like Emily Henry, Tessa Bailey and Katherine Center in this steamy rom com. She’s going to be a definite favorite to read if you like these other authors. One Quarter Villain by Cori Cooper – Review by Karrie Sears At first I didn’t think I was going to get into this book. After about 3 chapters it was growing on me, then when the fairy tale twists started coming into the book, I was hooked. It was a whimsical play on all the fairy tales I grew up reading. By the time it realized I was at the end of the book, I wanted more. I cannot wait to see what Cori Cooper does with Maddy and Leo in the future. The surprised realization by Leo at the end had me giggling when he figured it out. Definitely a wholesome easy read for YA fans. This is the second book in the series and it is so good. First and foremost, you do not need to read the first one before this one to understand what is going on. I do feel that you should read the first one because these books are that good. I liked this story because the setting is a little different then what I am typically used to. I liked that they started their “relationship” only without ever meeting. It is a take on modern day romances that doesn’t get portrayed very often in books. That being said it was a little confusing when the text changed from font type to emails being sent. Once, I got the flow of it things were easier and then the book went seamlessly to the end. I enjoyed the back and forth with the characters and their natural progression and evolution throughout the book. I am a sucker for emotional growth. There is a glimpse into the characters from the first book but they don’t over shadow or draw away from the story line. It is enough tot get your teeth wet to want to read the first book if you haven’t already. There is spice in this book that is really well written. I will keep reading the series because I am a sucker for a strong romance with steam, suspense, moments that catch your breath, and great characters. Reviewed by: @bbohls

I thoroughly enjoyed this charming and entertaining mystery novel by Byrd Nash. The story is a delightful blend of humor, intrigue, and ghostly encounters, set in a beautifully described 18th-century French setting. The author’s description of the French setting, including the lavish feasts and opulent surroundings, is mouthwatering and immersive.
Elinor, the protagonist, is a refreshingly different detective. Her skills as a medium and her ability to communicate with the dead make her a compelling and intriguing character. The witty banter and dialogue between Elinor and Tristan is clever and engaging, with a delightful playfulness that adds to the story’s charm.
One thing I didn’t enjoy as much was some sections of the book feel a bit rushed, while others drag on for too long. A more consistent pace would improve the overall flow.

Wasabi is the highly anticipated third instalment in Evil Sushi series by the very talented C.A King. I loved the first two books, Evil Sushi, and Sashimi so much- as they were such an original and fun read, so I was really excited when this arrived on my Kindle. After loving the first two books as much as I did, I admit that I had really high expectations for this instalment, and I am glad to say that Ms. King didn’t let me down, delivering an engrossing read. I am excited to find that there will be more evil food coming, with ‘Strawberry Fields Dismembered’ coming next. Can’t wait to see what it holds. As with the first two books, this has such an original and clever story, really unlike anything I have read before. It is a mash-up of paranormal, sci-fi, horror, dystopia, action, adventure, thriller, mystery, and suspense. With environmental issues, mutations, agendas, danger, evil food, and all the intrigue and dramatic developments that you need to keep you hooked right till the very end. We started with Evil Sushi, then followed up with Sashimi- and what better to pair with sushi and sashimi than ‘Wasabi’- you’ll see how great it goes with all that evil sea food in Books #1 & 2. So get set for a fun and quirky ride, with a little side order of horror to keep things interesting. You don’t necessarily have to read the first two books in the series to fully appreciate this one, but I recommend that you do so that you have all the intriguing details on board which will enhance your reading experience of this engrossing instalment. (There are interconnected details and elements that span the series- building a ‘bigger picture’) As expected from Ms. King, this was a really imaginative, wonderfully detailed, and well written story that wouldn’t let me put it down until I had devoured every word. I would love to have read an even longer, more in-depth, and expanded version of this book, as this was over way too quickly for my liking (but in a great way, as I was fully immersed in the story).
