This story is fast paced with suspense, danger and a little bit of spiciness and there’s a plot twist that I didn’t see coming. It kept me on edge with every chapter. I couldn’t put it down and read this book in one night.
Although all the books in the series can be read as stand alone books, they do intertwine with the story of the war going on between the pureblood vampires and the rouge vampires and shifters, so it would have made a little more sense had I read those first, but by the second or third chapter I was able to determine what was going on. There were a lot of secondary characters that I knew nothing about other than they had found their mates and I’d like to go back and read about their love stories and get to know them as well.
I really enjoyed the main characters, Master Bistrita and Chara, and their love story. I would have liked more page time for them but I enjoyed the story overall. There’s one more book in the series and I can’t wait to read the love story between the new characters and see how the war ends.

Like every Freaky Friday movie ever, I loved this book. I can definitely say it’s relatable to think of the things you would have changed or done differently in your youth, but knowing if you would have done things differently you wouldn’t be the person you are today. Jo gets that chance when she wakes up thirty years in the past, right at the beginning of her senior year. The struggles of what she knows will be coming during the year and in the future, what she wishes she had the answers to in her adulthood. She can get those answers or completely change her future now. Which of those events will she try to change and how can she do those things without changing everything in the future. What things happen differently, even without her trying. This book is a great binge read

I didn’t even read the description to Unexpected Heroes, but I have enjoyed other books by this author. The book was not like the other books I have read by her, but I really enjoyed it. The book was short, but filled with a lot of content. It had a good balance of new relationship feels, as well as some suspense. I think it was a good book, but wish for more filler- more background of what happened to Marcus; more background on both Jude and Elijah; more time to develop their feelings. It all happened quite fast. Overall, its a good quick read to open all the feels and leave you feeling content with a happy ending.

This Time Around is not only one of my favorite reads of the year but also an all-time favorite. It’s definitely a 5-star read for me!

She endured her parent’s divorce, closing her father out of her life, a friendship that doesn’t stand the test of time, and breaking the heart of the boy she was in love with.
She is still 47 but in an 18-year-old’s body. She has no aches and pains, and her body hasn’t endured the changes that come with having children and aging. I loved that she viewed her return with the wisdom of a mature woman. She tried to right some wrongs that occurred. I loved how she looked at her parents’ divorce; the time she spent with her parents was so endearing and heart-warming.
Josie was incredibly relatable. While she enjoyed her time with her family and friends, she desperately wanted to return to her children. While her heart ached as she remembered holding her children for the first time, I found myself doing the same. You think that time of no sleep and wiping runny noses will last forever, but it’s gone in the blink of an eye.
While she has a chance to make things right with Daniel, she has to ask herself how that affects her current life. Will she choose the unknown road with Daniel or the path she knows is fraught with joy and sadness (her impending divorce from her husband)? She has to do some soul-searching and ask herself some fundamental questions.
“That’s the thing about life. It’s the sum total of the choices, the mistakes, the right calls, that we make up until that moment. If you change one of those–turn left instead of right, go out with Mr. Football instead of the geeky guy in your class, or choose a different college–it completely changes who you are. Who you become.”
There were so many things I enjoyed about this book. I loved some of the new relationships Josie built outside of her usual group of friends. In addition, it took me back to a simpler time before the internet exploded…a time when you had to go to a library and use the card catalog to look up information…a time when you talked face-to-face with people instead of over a screen.

The Chaos Clock is made up of 14 short stories about time and clocks. I really enjoyed the concept and ideas that went into this anthology, and how each story is remarkably unique from the others. I really loved the steampunk vibes and how each author was able to capture their own take on the power of time. This can be a bit of a slower read if you do not enjoy similar writings of HP Lovecraft or HG Wells (both of which I respect and enjoy). This is one you can read straight through or pick and choose your way around the book, and I hope more anthologies are to follow! The stories included are:

From the start, The Handshake Agreement is a page turner. If you enjoy romance and forbidden loves, this will keep your attention. I do not read many romance books because (in my opinion) they are almost always alike. This one took me by surprise and I got into it much more than I thought that I would. Declan comes from a world of money and power, and it is all in the palm of his hand…if he accepts his father’s deal. Marry the girl of his choosing, and it will all be his. Declan accepts the agreement, asking for 10 years to do what he pleases before the agreement is signed in stone. Eight years later, Declan is picking up his younger sister from school and is asked to take her new friend, Anne, home as well. In the car, their eyes meet in the mirror and he feels a spark, but is determined to ignore it. Anne felt the same spark and connection Declan did, but after her father’s death and her mother’s depression, she wants no part of love. Three years later, Declan and Anne find themselves crossing paths again. Anne agrees to one night with Declan, no strings attached. As you may have guessed, this is not the fate of the two, and end up falling for each other. Keeping the relationship a secret can only last so long, as Declan’s dad has not forgotten the handshake agreement, and still expects his heir to marry sensibly. Now it is time for him to cash in on his part of the arrangement, and marry his bride to be. What will Declan do? Will he choose love over money and expectations, or will he leave Anne and fulfill his prophecy of being the golden child his dad expects? What will become of Anne when Declan pushes her away to marry for money and power? Will they resolve the relationship or find a way to persevere? This age gap romance has a great storyline and was easy to follow and hard to put down. I will be searching out the other books from this author and giving romance another chance!
Elijah moved to a new town to start with his infant son to get away from the past and start over. Leaving an abusive relationship is hard enough without having to start completely over. On top of that, having a baby to deal with too. Griffin is all Elijah has left. Elijah finds it hard to believe that people are willing to help him without a motive. His new boss is very accommodating, welcoming both him and Griffin with open arms. Even his hot neighbour, Jude, seems more than willing to lend a helping hand. Elijah wants to welcome Jude into his life but his trust issues are in the way.
Jude is a grieving alcoholic who lost his husband a year ago. When his new neighbour, a single dad, makes Judes heart start pumping again, he doesn’t know what to do about it. He deals with feelings of guilt with a sprinkle of hope. Even though they just met, he can see himself falling for this man and his cute baby.
Will the duo be able to put aside their negative feelings and come together or will something more sinister keep them apart?
I absolutely love Naomi Valkyrie’s books. Although they normally tend to write more fantasy than contemporary, this is a nice change of pace. The author writes novella sized books but with so much detail that it has the depth of a novel. They make the characters come to life with relatable feelings and actions. It is really easy to resonate with the characters and plots. I have said it many times and I will keep saying it. I highly recommend Naomi Valkyrie.
This is a collection of short stories. Each of the short stories centers on the theme of time/ space. Each story is set in the late nineteenth to early twentieth centuries. It was a time when people were able to experience and begin to understand many wonderful inventions. Perhaps, readers may be meant to glean that humans are not meant to know everything, that some mystery must remain in the universe. The short story format allows readers to reflect upon what they have ingested.
This is the first book in The Peter Smith Chronicles. It is a historical war time story which has adventure, danger, a child’s torment, growth and revenge all wrapped around war time. This sort of story isn’t something I would usually pick to read however the authors attention to detail and the story that was woven around Peter and his life was so moving and captivating that I could help being dragged into the story. In this book we follow Peter as he finds his way in life. This story is hard to read at first as when we meet Peter he is a street urchin struggling to survive, then things go from back to worse when he is put in prison for stealing before being sent to work as a cabin boy on the warship Progress. All of this while he is only 10 years old. The torture and abuse he suffers while being a cabin boy to the Captain is heartbreaking and something no child should ever have to go through. When he finally makes his escape he gets a chance to heal, learn and grow and when the opportunity for revenge presents itself he has a choice. Does he side with America when they go to war? Or does he do it just to get revenge on the evil people that tried to destroy his future. This is a really emotional story for me. Having a 10 year old myself I was heartbroken reading what Peter went through as a child. The author has created a great start to this series and I can’t wait to read more.

Was hooked from the start with this one. Nice short novella and gives a good perspective on what it’s like “behind the scenes” with a famous rock band. With fame comes drugs, sex, and manipulative fans. Who can you really trust? I loved having the different view points from Mav, Callum, and Becka. Though I didn’t trust Beckas intentions and had hoped something in her would change throughout the story. She seemed to only care about getting her name out there by dating any Rockstar that would take her. Callum has bad vibes from the get go and seems to “test her” by trying to get her attention as well. I really enjoyed this book and I am eager to dive into the other books in this series now.

A Taste of Honey is book 4 in the Taste of Honey Series, but it is actually just one book containing the first 3 stories in the series. The Gift, The Commanders Club, and Once in Love are short, well written Novellas, that contain some BDSM tropes, and a lot of spice. The FMC is usually leading a lonely, unfulfilled life, or have gotten into trouble somehow, or is trying to make her way in the world, and the MMC happens a long at just the right time which I enjoy. I enjoyed this collection, the characters were great, the storylines were engaging and kept me turning pages.

Quick read that packs some powerful messages for kids. After reading this story I can see how this book could be helpful for kids with anxiety and kids that have a hard time understanding their big emotions. Super helpful for parents too! Will be recommending this to my daughter-in-law for my grands.
I really enjoyed this set. Each book is short, a nice little read in between books and very steamy with a little drama sprinkled on top.
The Gift Penelope and Vlad’s story is hot! I love that fact that they are co workers at a library and he has been secretly watching her and falling in love, well maybe in lust first. Penelope’s tears always broke my heart because the pair doesn’t do much talking but, my fears are put to rest many times in the way Vlad takes care of her. I like that his friend at the club mentions that Vlad is obsessed with her, that kind of tampers her uneasiness of where their relationship is headed.
The commanders club Courtney and Dragon’s story is a step better than the last one. This story had more depth and a little suspense thrown in. I was so worried Courtney was going to get caught by Stringfellow, he seemed like just a nasty man. I am so glad Dragon was the one to train Courtney and their bond grew so nicely. My heart broke for her when she kept doubting they would end up together, it doesn’t seem like he wanted to take it all the way. Nicely ended
Once In Love Laura and Nick’s story is my favorite of the three! I totally swooned at the way Nick was instantly drawn to Laura at the courtesan auction and how he falls in love with her quickly. This story didn’t have as much bdsm as the other two, but still a nice little amount. The extra drama with Laura’s former boss made the story so much more interesting. I can tell there is no way Nick would have let Laura leave him.

When he walks into his new gym and seeing her, he is absolutely drawn but will she give the time of day. KC’s life has been planned out since she was born, what to wear, to say and even in the end when she marries exactly what she should wear but when she meets Chamberlain he seems to give her the confidence to break free of the mould her family has built around her but with them both being from different sides of the social status can there love survive the brutal jungle of life.
As their relationship progresses and the heat and passion drive on, there are rogue elements within each camp who would rather the relationship crash but can Katie and Chamberlain push through and have their happily ever after.
This is not the first book I have read by this author, and this will not be the last, the characters are so different but work together so well and you just want to believe that they can overcome the interference in the end and let love shine through.
The story was well written, and you felt like you were part of the story going into to the first chapter, with the twists and turns and the cliff hanger at the end you will want to dive straight into the second part to see what happens in the end. Chamberlain is a complex character who at first I was a little reluctant to like but as the story went on you get to see the true person he is and I started to warm to him. Katie was so different with her guiled cage and her frustration of just wanting to be who she is was hard to read but to see her blossom with Chamberlain which is great to read.
I am now reading the second part and devouring the next chapter in this series.

I enjoyed reading these spicy stories. This is a collection of three shorter stories about a librarian, a journalist and one that is just stranded in Paris. They each are well written and bring romance to a new level. They are spicy, full of heat and characters that will pull you into their world with ease. They keep you engaged and turning pages fast. They are connectable and bring their stories to life. I enjoyed watching their growth throughout the story. I enjoyed this author’s writing style that made the stories realistic and hard to put down. They are fast paced and stories you don’t want to miss. This is a must read story for sure. I look forward to seeing what is next for this author. I highly recommend this collection.

My family loves it when I bring a book by this author home! We have read several of their books, so we grabbed this one up right away. This was an incredibly helpful read at this point because both of my kiddos have quite a bit of anxiety and really struggle to talk to people they don’t see often. Rocky the Raccoon was a very relatable character for them (and for me!) so we were all drawn in. This book sparked a great conversation in our home about ways we can manage anxiety, connect with people, and be courageous! I highly recommend picking this up to share with the younger ones in your life at home or at school. I bet you’ll end up enjoying it just as much!
This is the fifth book in the Olympic Peninsula series, and what a ride it has been! I have enjoyed each installment, so I was very excited to see this one come out. You could read this as a standalone, but I definitely recommend reading the series in order to gain the full experience that the author intended. This is an incredible book that has a quick pace. You’ll likely have a difficult time putting it down! The character development is top notch and makes you feel like you’re experiencing the story instead of being on the outside looking in. Edward and Lisette are wonderful. This was such a wonderful read! I highly recommend picking this up as well as the rest of the series. I can’t wait to see what else this author has in store for us moving forward!

Poor Shank!! Jack and Shank are out for a walk when Shank gets an itch. Jack thinks what any reasonable pet owner would, and that is that Shank must have a flea. Jack goes through several “home remedies”, some of which are pretty humorous, before deciding to leave this mystery to the hands of the professionals.
Kids will love the humor in this book!! Just make sure they understand good pet ownership and that not all of these recommendations should be tested out. The illustrations are also very well done and give way to more humor in the story. I highly recommend adding this one to your personal library!

This is a cute little story about a family of raccoons that travel to meet their relatives. I enjoyed the story because it showed how sometimes an individual can feel left out but if you give it a chance you can start to enjoy yourself. It is a cute little story that I think many kids will enjoy. I recommend this story to children who want to read.
I love a story that makes me forget time and responsibilities and this short read did just that. Some people see the word novella and think it’s going to be lacking in some way but this story has everything I could ask for plenty of romance, bit of spice and lots of moments of laughter. Drew and Katie have great chemistry and completely draw you into their world. This author really knows how to hook readers from the get go and I can’t wait to read more. Their story is relatable and you can’t help but root for them along the way. Five star read and highly recommended.

Book 5 in The Olympic Peninsula series definitely does not disappoint. Edward the oldest of all the siblings and a former priest is back home again and is trying to find out what his next steps in life are going to be. He has come to the realization that a celibate lifestyle is not at all for him. Though this is not the reason he left the Catholic Church. Lisette is at a time in her life where she wants more as well. Tired of Reynard and his ways and knowing that he is growing bored with her as well, she ends things with him. Now what will Lisette do? Both Edward and Lisette have some things to figure out in their lives in order to move forward. Is it a mistake to start something so soon? This book is the fifth and last book of this series and I have loved watching all of the relationships and couples grow. Each book can be read as a stand-alone, but I recommend reading them in order because they do have very big roles in each subsequent story. I have absolutely loved watching all of these characters develop and come to life in every book.

This was a cute a quick little kids book. It’s a good lesson for kids about every one being good at different things. Learning new ways to work as a team. The illustrations are so cute and well done. I read this to our two year old and while it’s probably a bit advanced reading wise he really liked the pictures and pointing out items he’s starting to recognize. We really liked this for our bedtime story and highly recommend it. Five stars.
Three stories in one book. Each is based on the BDSM Master/slave genre. I was not expecting the sizzle these stories provided. Each interesting in their own way. Out of the three stories, I related most to the characters in the third story. I was rooting for them. If you like a lot of spice in your reading, give this book a try.

This was a sweet clean fantasy filled with twists and turns to keep you guessing who will save the day. A little romance I hope to see bloom in the next book. I was totally engrossed in the story easily and the author kept me guessing throughout the story. I loved the writing style, it was easy to read and envision.
Hazel is our MC and is on the hunt for who killed her sister. She ends up in a town full of magical people and a vampire. The more she hunts for her sister’s killer, the more trouble she finds herself in. Quite an interesting and enjoyable read. Bring on book 2.

This was a quick and easy read that I was able to devour in one sitting.
Katie and Drew meet at a Halloween party in a comical way that sets the tone for the entire story. Once the costumes come off, these two find that they have more in common than just the instant chemistry. While they are fearful of jumping into a relationship, due to being burned in the past, these two find themselves falling quickly for each other. Add in some four-legged friends, some hockey (which the series is based on), and some more costumes…and you get a funny, steamy, learning-to-love again romance.
I have read the other books in the series, and this one focuses less on hockey and more on Katie and Drew’s relationship. The characters are relatable…and we get to see the characters from the previous books. I found myself laughing out loud at parts…and stories with doggos always pull me in. Another great story from this author!
