My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the fifth and final book in the Olympic Peninsula series. Even though each book focuses on a different member of the O’Connell family I do recommend reading the books in order as all the character reappear in different books. These books are romances which really tug at the heartstrings. The characters are so well developed and complex that you end up feeling like they are part of your family. This is Edward and Lisette’s story.

Edward is on a journey to rediscover himself after leaving the preisthood. One thing he didn’t expect was to fall in love and the person he falls for is someone he never expected.
Lisette owns a small cafe in town. She is a character who has a past she wants no one else to know about. After changing her name and moving to the small town she is hoping to put her past firmly behind her. That is until she meets Edward. Their attraction is one thing but she knows with her past that she wouldnt be accepted into the O’Connell family.
Try as they might they can’t deny their attraction and as their connection grows what will happen if Lisette’s past is revealed?
This is a beautiful story that really tugs at the heart strings. It is full of family drama and angst as well as secrets and hidden pasts, along with other characters who want to interfere in their growing relationship all set on a backdrop of the holiday. Can the magical time of year be just the charm for this couple to succeed? Should Edward be even looking for a relationship so soon without full rediscovering himself? And can their relationship even survive if their pasts are revealed?
I am a little sad that this book is the end of the series as it feels like I am leaving members of my own family behind which says a lot about the authors skill at writing and creating characters you can’t help but be invested in.
