Alchemist, Gaelan Erceldoune, creates an elixir to help cure cancer. When an acquaintance, physician Simon Bell, desperately seeks Gaelan’s help with his wife, tragedy ensues and Mrs. Bell dies. In hopes of following his wife to the afterlife, Simon takes the remaining liquid. Instead of dying, Simon becomes immortal like Gaelan. The story starts slow, but then picks up and I couldn’t put it down.
