This is a fun and engaging booked about a child’s first day at school. Joe is desperate to learn how to read and this book is all about the adventure he goes on to try and satisfy this need. Both my kids are big readers so they found it fascinating to watch Joe on his mission.
For me, the illustrations in this book are what make it as good as it is. They really bring the story to life and make it feel like you are on the adventure with Joe, not just reading about him. I always enjoy a book my kids connect with, and this is definitely one of those. A fantastic story and I am sure it will be a household favourite.
