What a great M/M fantasy romance that was completely original. I love the angle that Amanda Kay took in developing this awesome storyline around good versus evil and having the ring be the protagonist in the story. The ring represents the world’s evil and tries to influence the hunter to kill the demon angel despite the attraction they feel for one another. This made for a great fantasy romance as we see our two main characters fight against all that they have been taught as their responsibility and follow along as they choose where their destinies will take them. This book was not a long read, but every page will have you on edge rooting for a happily ever after that may or may not be possible. You won’t want to miss this fast-paced adventure as the two main characters work against time to seek out the answers they need…will the past be able to help them save their future? Find out by reading Driving into the Night by the amazing author Amanda Kay who has a skill like no other! Until next time my friends, I’m off to find another great read!

This is a well written and exciting story that had me hooked almost immediately. My interest was piqued even reading the description of this book. I picked it up based on the cover, and the description was not at all what I was expecting. Which I always find exciting!
The author did a great job of pulling you straight into the story. I connected with the characters instantly was found myself being swept along on their adventure. The premise of the book was really interesting. The nature of Lapidius was great and the combination of the characters all seemed to fit well. This was a surprising book but a really enjoyable one!

As the spectators watched and the other kids ran through the mud chasing the pig, Angela stood back trying to figure out how she could catch the pig. Even when her nemesis, Bruce, taunted her, Angela knew she wanted to catch this pig. She watched other kids cry because they had gotten hurt and then they all left because they were tired of trying. The only two left was her and Bruce. He taunted her once more until Angela had had enough and she dove for the pig. She was surprised when she caught it! She held on for dear life – even when Bruce tried to pull the pig away from her. She held on as the pig raced around the stall. Finally, time was up and Angela had managed to keep her grip on the pig. Her fight with the pig left its mark in the form of a black eye, but she was happy and smiling because she had won.

 

This was a cute story that showed determination and perseverance with Angela’s attempts to win the pig. She experienced bullying from Bruce but she kept trying and didn’t let his teasing stop her. She suffered bumps and bruises while the pig dragged her around, but she kept going until the end. The illustrations were so colorful and let you see the story unfold as the contest continued. I was cheering for Angela!

A Pig and a Poke by Tricia Gardella Illustrated by Bar Fabian – 4 Stars
Story of a contest to win a pig; all you have to do is catch it and hang on. You have big brother’s help, a bully and a little girl who shows determination, perseverance and kindness to a bully.

It’s a cute book for your little ones. Illustrations are cute and help tell the story. Story jumps right into the contest without saying it’s a contest. I think there should be a little detail in the beginning about the contest before we jump right into it. This may help explain to our little ones why the kids are throwing themselves onto a greasy pig.

I adored how Angela stood up for herself when Bruce the bully started teasing her; and when Angela won her pig through determination; showing kindness to the bully and helped him up.

There are some wonderful character traits we try to instill in our own children and this cute book will give great talking/reflecting points to have.

Wow, this was such a rollercoaster, and I loved every minute. I absolutely love Kenai and Mikael together. The story with the ring and Kenai’s family seeming to have been doing this for generations, confused me every now and then. I would have liked to have more backstory to how it all began, but Kenai and Mikael meeting Nicholas and Viktor helped a little. Watching these two battle with giving over to what the ring demands, and their love for each other was heartbreaking. I don’t know how Mikael’s cousin Elise and Kenai’s mother know what to do, maybe they see themselves in the past as well so they are able to give guidance to the boys. I would really love to read more of Mikael and Kenai, their love is sweet and beautiful, I really enjoyed this story.

This was a cute story! I think that it is engaging for kids and packed with good messages. Children are often worried about being a tattletale when reporting something that they are dealing with. This book is a good reminder that it is ok to report unkind behavior. Also, that honesty is important. I would recommend this for a read aloud for children. It opens opportunity for constructive conversations.

Throughout the story the author portrays fear, anxiety, patience and faith. A life lesson both parents and children need reminded of.

The pictures are cute and the various farm animals were definitely attention grabbers. Buddy finds out he’s different than his litter mates. With the help of his wise momma, Buddy learns that our unique differences are what makes each of us special! 

I love that it backs up this story with biblical scripture at the end of the book. 

I look forward to reading more by Suzanna Lynn!

Seven days, just 7 more days and the control they have on me and this crown will be over. All Trinity wants is to get her life back. Being a rodeo pageant queen was everything she had wanted and she followed the rules to the letter. Her mom and best friend were there to ensure she got to the top, controlling every minute of her day.

Shooter Price was just as ambitious as Trinity and went off to follow his own path after he was dumped by her in high school. Things didn’t work out quite as he had planned but he made the best of it and headed back home.

This is where you will have to read to find out what happens.

This was the first book I have read by this author and I was surprised by her talent of getting you in the mind of the characters and keeping you there for the entire story. I felt every minute of emotion along with Trinity and Shooter. The side characters are just as riveting.

This is not my go to genre but wow.. amazing writing. This was a must read for me. For keeping me reading late into the night, I’m giving 5 stars. Bravo

This a very quick read, this novella has four chapters and has been well written. I give it a 4-star rating.
This book is set in the era where if young girls’ virtue were compromised, it was intended that they would marry the man who compromised them. How ever for Georgiana this did not happen. After she was comprised by Mr Wickham, Georgina did not think that she had much chance of ever getting married. Her brother took Georgianna to live with him and his family. She gets on well with her brother and wife and loves their children. Georgiana wished for her brother and his wife to find her a husband. Lizzy approached her husband, and they decided upon a house party to try and find her a husband of good standing. When Lt Montfort met Georgiana, he was quite taken with her, and she brightened his day. But when he finds out she had been compromised would he still want to be near her?

Miss Georgiana Darcy’s Quest For Love is the fourth book in the Love Through the Ages series by T.L. Clark. It is a very short (56pages) regency/historical romance, being a variation to the classic, Pride and Prejudice, this has all the angsty drama you might expect from such a story.
At only 56 pages long, I won’t go into the storyline here as I don’t wish to spoil anything for you, as the blurb does a great job of letting us know what to expect. Miss Georgiana Darcy Quest For Love comes with some complications, but what does fate have in store for her future? The epilogue was a great little bonus…
The dialogue, scene setting, and whole ‘atmosphere’ of the story was crafted to be in keeping with the times, and Ms. Austen’s ‘original’. Although I do wish the story was a little longer, as I found it a little slow to get going, so by the time the pace picked up and I found my groove, the story was almost over.
This is a series of standalone historical romances – so there is no need to have read the other three books before diving into this one.

Noah, Charlotte and Yohan are in a polyamorous relationship, however they are also allowed relationship outside of their little unit. They collectively decided to be only with each other when they decided to have a child. One of the characters uses they/them pronouns which threw me off a little as I am not used to reading it even though I hear it used daily. I found myself drawn into this world created by the author and finished the book in one sitting. I haven’t read any of the previous books in this series, but I am very interested in reading about the other character. There are a few things talked about that could be a trigger warning so read at your own risk.

Mr. Lucky is a realistic tale of a man’s journey through life as he suffers highs, and lows, and works to give back to those who made his life a little easier after he hit his lowest point. This book has everything you could want in a crime thriller. From drug crime bosses, the Russian mob, detectives, and a winning lottery ticket. Lee Wood uses an excellent format of writing this book through multiple character’s points of view, allowing the reader to have a very diverse perspective. It is amazing how you get to follow James’ life from the view of multiple characters, he is someone that you will feel invested in, and hope that he can persevere through everything that keeps happening to him. Will James be able to survive all the hardships, or will he give in to the depression that is weighing heavily upon him? I was so excited to see that this is a book series, where we get to continue to follow the lives of the other characters that we’ve met. Buddy is a Blue Corgi and he doesn’t look like the other siblings in his litter. He doesn’t know it until one day a horse on the farm points it out. Buddy becomes very upset until his mom comes to comfort him.

This book is a great way to talk to kids about differences, whether it be in the way they look, different abilities, etc. There is a Bible verse at the end and this is written to be very inspirational. I highly recommend this book! The reader even gets to meet the real life Buddy at the end of the book!

Made to Love Her is a novella in the Moore Family Saga. I read it as a standalone as I enjoy anything with a saxophone in it, and found I could pretty much follow the story without needing to have read the rest of the series.

For a shorter story, there is plenty going on! Cade is busy with his band, trying to have a good time with Lecia and deciding whether to extend his tour. His brother, Vincent, is caught up in something that’s clearly more personal than he’s willing to let on. It’s threatening to ruin Cade and Lecia’s romantic getaway and put them in serious danger.

This is a fun short romance with plenty of action and intrigue in the story. Having enjoyed it, I’m interested in reading more of the series! It gets four stars from me.

Originally when I decided to read this book, I thought I could read it as a stand alone but it is a much better idea to the series from the beginning to get better context and get to know characters. This book is built into short stories that are emotionally engaging and woven into a common thread amongst the characters. Warnings for triggers are given prior to warning readers of themes. Stories focus on different interwoven themes within queer romance and its ups and downs and obstacles they overcome. Through it all, readers can find some sense of hope and love. It is a beautiful reminder that in all challenges, we are able to overcome and become stronger in the end.

Made to Love Her is a novella within the Moore Family Saga. This book focuses on the older Moore couple- Cade and Lecia (Miles’ parents). They are referred to as Kaiden and Alicia in other books, and that took me longer than it should have to connect the dots. This book was really quick and the chapters are short. It takes place in the middle of the timeline, when Miles is 10, and his dad is still a touring musician. Both Cade and Lecia have a intense love for each other, and will do anything for the other. While I didn’t mind the story, it didn’t seem to really have a point, or develop enough for me to care. It seemed like the mystery and events were more a story for Cade’s brother. This book didn’t add much to the series or backstory for the characters.

Buddy was born and although he didn’t know it at the time, he was different then the others in his litter. When it is pointed out, Buddy is confused and feels like he doesn’t belong. When he brings his trouble to his mom, she helps Buddy understand that being different can also be a blessing.

Great illustrations and I think that young ones will enjoy this story. I liked that Buddy had emotions and it can open up a dialogue with children and how everyone is different in their own way. Well done

I was hooked on the War of Destiny series and read every single one just eager to learn more on each of the different characters. As the years and years span forward and different characters are intermingled, the story continues to make such an impression on its readers. As this book emerges of Matthew and his backstory after book one and two, I definitely needed to give this one book a try. If you’re interested in this book, it is highly recommended that you read the first two books in the series for context and sequence of events. Starts out with Matthew dealing with so much anguish and grieving from the last of his soulmate and being tortured. Now without his ka-tet, he leaves lost and out of place being on his own now. He focuses on regaining his strength and power as he has been depleted from what he once was. In search of a new identity, Matthew goes from the Medici family from Tuscany to Valentino in Rome. Throughout the reader can truly experience all the emotions Matthew confronts through the adventure and action that he brings to his own storyline. Another War of Destiny addition!

Pursuit into darkness was told from Julia’s POV. It follows her descent into madness from the abuse she endure as a human. After nearly a century of being a vampire and losing her soul mate, she also loses her sense of self worth.

Instead of trusting the members of her ka-tet, she gives into the voices and hallucinations of her violent ex-husband telling her she’s worthless, and joins Valentino in trying to bring down the Resistance.

Samuel and Kali are able to get through to her enough to spare Samuel and he kidnaps her back, which infuriates Matthew and he leaves the ka-tat because he does not trust Julia.

Where do I even begin!?!? The nail biting suspense? The character development? The plot? This was so good!

Matthew’s struggle of losing not only his soul mate, but also his ka-tat from harboring Julia after her betrayal and even his elemental super powers was heart wrenching! Living alone in the mountains only made his mental health worse. His soul mate finally convinced him in a dream to rejoin society where he meets the Medici brothers and becomes a valuable asset to both the Duke and the Cardinal.

Matthew has to continue to balance pretending to be human, while also not damaging his vampire anatomy. Valentino causes chaos in Rome and Matthew has to take the long way to avoid being spotted by Valentino’s clan to come help the Cardinal. Matthew fights alongside the humans to relinquish the clan that has infiltrated the Villa and has the humans enthralled and hypnotized to try to take over and rule Rome.

A half Pixie half Necromancer 😱 Belladonna really gets under your skin but at the same time is so easy to like🤯. The Hunters are hunting the paranormal while the paranormal are hunting the Hunters!

René get put through the ringer- loses his twin sister to find out their brother is behind her murder for Demonic Powers, and in the midst becomes the Pixies play thing and under his control.

René also has dormant powers that become awoken thanks to Belladonna!

You Are Special (Buddy the Blue Corgi Series) by Suzanna Lynn. This is a wonderful children’s book that explains that its ok to be different from others. Its the story of Buddy, the little Blue Corgi who realizes he doesn’t look like his mom or his friends when he looks in the mirror. His mom explains that everyone is different and that’s ok. This is such a good book for young kids to realize that they don’t have to look like everyone else, whether they are short, tall, big, little it doesn’t matter, what matters is what’s on the inside. I also love that the last page of the book has a scripture that reinforces the story of the book. Love this sweet book!

This book is part of a series. There’s alot of characters and I found it hard to know who was who. Shooter has a big family with siblings and cousins. Even with that, i thought the book was good. It was a sweet second chance romance.

When Trinity was 15 or 16 years old she spent alot of time with Shooter. He was her boyfriend. Even though they were teenagers and only gave each other little pecks here and there but they definitely had strong feelings for eachother. Trinity’s mom told her she needed to cut Shooter loose because he was a distraction. She thought he would understand since they are both focused on their goals. However when she broke up with he, he was heartbroken.

10 years later and he’s back in his hometown just in time for Elk Field’s week long festivities.
In the last 10 years Trinity accomplished what she set out to do by becoming Rodeo Royalty but, now she cannot wait to be done with it and start really living and having a boyfriend. Her mom and Kaley keep trying to push her into modeling but she just wants to be able to live a normal life.

When Trinity and Shooter see eachother and have a dance together, it’s clear both of them still care so much for eachother. Will Shooter be able to give her a week longer to be done with all this rodeo stuff and crown a new queen?

Driving into the Night by Amanda Kay. This is a supernatural mystery with a touch of m/m romance. Its the story of Kenai and Mikael who are in the same school. They are both attracted to one another but neither can get the courage up to tell the other one. While they are at a party and they play a kind of spin the bottle type game they are thrust together and from then on our they are together whether they like it or not.
