As the first book in the Trentbridge series, Mr Lucky is told through a multi-character point of view focusing mainly on detective James Sheldon. James experiences hard times following an accident involving his family, as life gets more difficult it is the kind actions of others that help James’ life turn around. If you are looking for a crime thriller appropriate for all ages, this is a must read book for you. I am interested to see what happens in the next books.

This book really kept me on the edge and was a real page turner, I couldn’t put it down, I needed this book. This book really flowed really well with the story and was so easy to follow and really get into the story line. This book was filled with the unknown, secrets, werewolves, danger, suspense, thrills and chills, and horror. A small town with its secrets that don’t like newcomers and try to push them away. John is a wonderful, developed character that this story really made it feel like you know him. this was an incredible read that I can’t wait for more.

If you’ve ever grown up in the country, you’ve probably tried to catch a greased pig or two! Angela has a great strategy to win the greased pig. Bruce the bully has other plans though and thinks he can beat Angela at her own game. I love the pictures of the race. They are very colorful and make you want to jump in the pen with them!

I have never been much of a true crime reader, but Mr. Lucky was a fantastic introduction into the genre! At first I had a hard time keeping everything together and straight in my head, so much so that I almost gave up on it, but I pushed through and I am glad I did! Details and voice guided the story along and kept the reader engaged. This was an intense and gripping tale, and each character was well introduced to the reader. The only thing I wish about this book is that it hadn’t been such a slow start, but definitely worth the read in the end! I’ll be looking out for the second book 🙂

This book is such a fun and entertaining kids story. It had both of my children hooked from the start and I could see the delight they took from it. At times, the book had them laughing out loud. It is an engaging story from the moment you start reading. Luca is a great main character too. He is the reason why you engage in the story and is definitely the reason why you stay invested. I loved the way this book was written as well. Rhyming books are some of my favourite as they are fun to read out loud and it makes it more enjoyable for me. This is a brilliant book that I would highly recommend for its intended audience.
You Are Special by Suzanna Lynn is a sweet book with a great message.
Buddy is a blue Corgi that looks very different from his siblings. He doesn’t notice that he is blue and all his siblings are tan. One day Nelly, the horse, points out that difference to him, and Buddy is very saddened and believes that he is somewhat less than his brothers and sisters because he doesn’t look like them. His sweet Momma finds him and explains that there is nothing wrong with being different, pointing out other animal families that don’t look exactly the same, such as the two cow siblings who look entirely different from each other and their mother. She also tells him that everyone is unique, which makes each special.
The book is beautifully illustrated, which should engage younger children. It teaches them that we all feel different at one time or another in our lives. However, being different is what makes us all special and unique.

The Vipers’ Bloodline Awakened is the Book 5 in The Gods’ Scion series and this is my favorite book so far. This story brought me all the feels I love about reading…..drama, action, secrets and magic. Opening up the pages of this fantasy read…I quickly dove in and couldn’t wait to see what happens next as I turned each page. Testing of loyalty comes into play…who do you trust…..secrets come out. Each of the family of Roderick and Arcelia so much happens…I do not want to give any spoilers away!! This is such a good story and I recommend this series!!
Hi Little Brother, I Love You by Deniese Dennis is a five star-heartfelt book, that I would highly recommend to any new “Big Brothers, or Big Brothers to be”. I loved that this book showcased what it means to be a big brother. I love that affection was shown in the form of hugs and kisses. I loved that there is a theme of sharing and protection. I also enjoyed that the book showcased how wonderful it can be to have a little brother. This book can be used to introduce the idea of a new baby brother coming into the family, and used as a reminder of what an important role a big brother has in the life of his little brother. This book would be a great gift that can be shared and read for years. I loved the illustrations, they were adorable, and colorful that will keep the attention of younger kids. I am excited to check out other books by Deniese to see if there are also big sister books too.

The Places We Call Home was a very cute book and informative for children of all ages. It explores identity and belonging and the connections we form in our enviroments, with universal themes this is an easy to read book with the kids as a way to explain that everyones home can look different from person to person

5/5 stars For being my first book and my very first review, I thoroughly enjoyed this little kids book. Featuring all the places that someone or something can live was interesting. I liked the illustration and the wording was just right for the young ones to understand. I read this book to my kids and they asked so many questions and were so intrigued. This story is easy to read. It has adorable pictures with an engaging story.

This was an incredible second book to this series and you will want to read them in order too. Once again, this author spun a story that was captivating, had so many twists and turn that was so hard to put down or not enjoy. It was filled with magic, the supernatural and so much more that this book was honestly a no brain for me to read. This book was fast paced but easy to keep up with as Julia grows into who she, and a journey of self-discovery. The characters are so well done that it felt like you could get to really know them and understand who they are. I enjoyed this book and really can’t wait for the next one.

Detective Sheldon is a well developed character. I know and understand (maybe better than most due to my career) that profanities are used after every word. Comparing this to reality, it is acurrate. When I read a book, however, that is not all I want to read.
As a crime thriller, I enjoyed the plot of the story. Primarily I loved the development of the main character, Detective Sheldon. There are a lot of plot twists that keep you turning the pages. If you love a good mystery, this book is for you.

Such a great and easy read for a weekend. The author does well in portraying the main characters, Abby and Joe, very well. They both have a lot more in common than they think and complement each other really well. Overall, the story is well written and there is just enough drama to keep the reader engaged.

I wasn’t sure how much I would like this story when I first chose to read it. The prologue sucked me right in and I couldn’t put it down. Midnight falls was full of horror, action and thrills. The author did a great job creating this town and telling the story. I cannot wait to read more from him.

I am glad to have found a new series to get into and I am eager to start book two.

The Viper’s Bloodline Awakened is the fifth instalment in The Gods’ Scion series by Winnifred Tataw. As this follows on from the developments in the previous four books, I highly recommend reading them before starting on this one- as there is a continuing/overarching storyline with important information which you should know in order to fully appreciate the story/instalment, and avoid feeling lost or confused in any way. As with the other instalments in the series, this is an urban fantasy adventure with action, curses, secrets, betrayal, drama, danger, twists, emotion, sci-fi elements, gods, magic, mystery, mythology, astrology, powers, intrigue, interesting world-building, family, who to trust, doubts, conflict, mortals, agendas, high stakes, suspense, darker elements, and dynamic/complex characters. This series gets better with each new addition, and Ms. Tataw turns up the tension here, yet again- , putting her characters, and me, through some intense developments/situations- making this instalment the best one, so far… As I have mentioned in my reviews of the previous books, Ms. Tataw has created an intricate world with unique characters, lore, culture, and beliefs. There are magical, fantasy, and sci-fi elements, which are all woven around things we are more familiar with- which makes the story all the more believable and relatable. I also appreciated the substantial appendix/guide at the end of the book, which was full of interesting and helpful information. Happy Reading…

Miss Georgiana Darcy’s Quest for Love by T.L. Clark is a good book for people who love old-fashioned romance, Slow Reads, and people who like the original story Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austin. This book was a good short story, and it didn’t take that long to read. The book also has an extra that is for the people who love steamy romance, and it is optional to read it. If you are a fan of the Darcy family, then this book is for you. This book can also be read as a standalone novel, but I do recommend the original. I feel like I have a love hate relationship with this series. There’s things that frustrate me and there’s a lot I love, including the author. To Be A Fae Rogue is the next book in the series. A series that one should really read all the books in order to understand the whole picture. The author created an interesting world. But a world that if you like fantasy books about fae, you will get sucked into. Titania knows she needs to remain hidden to protect her people and realm, but she can’t sit still. A normal life is not for her, but she definitely tries. And with Foster eventually by her side, she has confidence that it’ll be enough. That is till the earthquakes start. When her people start losing their livelihoods she needs help, so she finds a way too. But she needs to remain hidden from Sonia. When she goes up to see how her witch and vampire friends are doing they create a plan. A plan to protect all the types of supernatural beings. Will they succeed? Will Titania be able to remain hidden? That and so many more questions come up, as there are slight twists, turns, and tragedy that lie ahead. It’s a series that’s definitely worth the read, so check it out!

This was a cute and wholesome story. So often even the young adult books are more detailed than they should be and not geared towards anyone that young.
Holland is the new girl at school after moving from Colorado. She doesn’t know a single person, that is until a knight in shining armor stepped in to show her around. If only their story was as smooth and easy as their meeting, without the awkwardness.
Holland misses home and her friends but seems to settle in well in her new school, friends and town. Friends are the best and if you’re lucky you can find your best friend like I did mine all those years ago.
The sibling relationships were dead on accurate and may have made me kaufg a few times.
While I was a little older than the target age group I enjoyed Holland’s story and her group of friends.

Mr Lucky (Trentbridge Tales #1) is the first in the series by Lee Wood. It has many POVs that it shifts with throughout but mainly follows James Sheldon and David Rex. I normally love the multiple POV but this one seemed like it had too many. It was very slow going for the first half of the book, minus the first chapter. The first chapter has a mafia style hit that I am honestly not sure ever really played into the rest of the book… the last quarter of the book the urgency increased and I actually enjoyed it at that point.

I always enjoy reading books written by this author. She creates interesting worlds and characters that are relatable and make the story interesting – like Vulture and Jackal shifters. This book is a shorter story filled with some loneliness, angst, and romance. It’s an easy read that you won’t want to put down even after you realize the story is finished. This kind of story might not be what you’re used to but the author’s imagination and writing style will connect with you in ways you don’t expect.
