Josh returns home after several disappointments growing up only to find his new home isn’t what it seems. Small towns are always slow to welcome newcomers but this town has it’s own secrets to be discovered. Moving in to a small town 10 years ago we have always had our own outsider experiences so this book is relatable; however, I’m grateful that those lurking in our town aren’t looking at us like a meal. This book was well written and kept me engaged. The vivid details were like watching a horror movie in the middle of the night then trying to sleep!

Josh Blevins had high hopes and big dreams of being a writer, however, when he took his adorable husky and headed off to college at NYU, things didn’t quite go as planned and because of this and other bad luck, he had to head back home. Unfortunately for Josh, he cannot stay with his parents forever and instead ups sticks again and moves to Midnight Falls, another small town to settle into a less busy life.
At first, everything seems to be going well, he finds a job writing for the local paper and makes friends with his neighbours, all while fixing up his rental and meeting a young woman who makes him feel safe. Unfortunately, not everyone is happy to make his acquaintance and he soon becomes caught in the gaze of the local Sheriff and not in a good way. He seems to be the recipient of pranks, side eyes and whispers whenever he visits one of the local premises and gets the feeling that he is being constantly watched, but things soon escalate and secrets which were long buried bubble to the surface.
The town has the usual lack of appreciation of those who are not local, those who are different and those who don’t conform to the norm of a mid-western small town, but these secrets are bloody and dangerous, haunting and beastly and as he becomes more of an outsider than any local should be, the mask starts to slip and Josh begins to see what lies beneath, but what will happen when the town finds out that he suspects what the dark secrets truly are and will he survive long enough to reconcile with it? This is a fantasy horror which leads you down the rabbit hole of small town life and attitudes into the warren of secrets and lies which lie beneath it in this fast paced and gripping tale.

The third book in the Match Made in Montana series, this book and all the books in the series follow different couples and can be read as stand-alone stories. In this book, Unmasking a Cowgirl we meet Abby. her family was one of the three founding families in this town and there was a falling out many many years ago. Well time is running out but she is back to claim her families land. Will she be able to convince the townsfolk that she is not the bad person they think her family is? Joe is a middle school teacher and a local historian. He is also NOT a fan of Abbys. As time goes by he get more and more suspicious of her and well, read the book!! This book has a slow start but as you get into it, well it really gets good and you find yourself rooting for Abby and Joe to overcome their issues and differences and find that they can offer each other so much more.

This is a very short historical romance from the Love Through The Ages Series . This is a beautifully written romance. The author does a great job of bringing that time period to life. The authors writing style and descriptions really bring to life the characters she is portraying and I like how the author covers issues such as a young woman being tricked before and the possibility of a ruined reputation and shows the reader exactly how the bad the consequences could be for a woman in that position. I love Georgiana’s character. She had been burnt and scared to fall for another love again but it didn’t stop her from following her heart.
As I said this is a short read which meant I read it in one sitting. It is also a stand alone so you don’t need to read other books first to follow this story, however if you enjoy historical romances then I recommend reading more by this author.

This is my first encounter with this author, and as a devoted fan of anything related to Pride and Prejudice, I couldn’t resist picking it up From the moment I began reading, I was absolutely captivated by the nuanced storytelling and rich character development. It is a quick yet thoroughly satisfying read, balancing brevity with depth. The author skillfully crafts a narrative that’s both engaging and immersive. Georgiana tugged at my heartstrings a bit as she struggled with her internal battles. I don’t want to give away any spoilers, but fans of Jane Austen-inspired fiction will find much to adore in this captivating retelling. I highly recommend it for those seeking a thoughtful and engaging read!

Loved this Small town read. This story is about Abby Whit and a secret she carries about who she really is. Abby moved to Herd, Montana two years ago and started a life in the small town. Her family used to live there years ago, but was run out of town. Now Abby is wanting to try and claim the land that is rightfully hers. Only thing is how long her secret will remain hidden. Abby has made friends and some have even taken her under their wings to help her find her place in Herd. Will they be okay with Abby earning their trust to then turn around and tell them who she really is? With family ties and history a huge part of the town putting Abby in a major pickle on what to do. Deep down she really wants to stay in Herd, no matter what comes to light from her letting her secrets go. Her friend rally around her to show their support and tell her to stand tall and all will work out in the end.

Midnight Falls by John Evans was a uniquely horrifying read. I wasn’t sure what to expect from this book, as I am not familiar with this author. I was pleasantly surprised, and drawn in by the authors writing style. The prologue was intense, and set the table for the entire thing, keeping you entertained and on the edge of your seat with every turn of a page. I was genuinely enthralled the deeper I got into this story, and couldn’t help binge reading it. I look forward to seeing more from John Evans in the future!

I loved this book! It’s the first book of the series. The characters in this book are phenomenal. Novum Albion used to be a land that held such greatness and now it is basically a land of the forgotten. Lapidius is a military school for kids. It has this mystery to it. This is the first book in A Nation Found series as well as the first book I have read by this author. I was completely engrossed in it within the first couple of pages and didn’t put it down until I finished! I may have skipped a day full of chores, but I’m okay with that decision because this book was simply incredible. The characters are well-crafted and even secondary characters are given plenty of backstories and depth. The pacing is well-executed and although I am quite a bit over the target audience age, I fell in love with it. This is a gripping tale that blends adventure, magic, and the harsh realities of war. If you enjoy the Hunger Games and Harry Potter kind of vibes, you will likely jump for joy when reading this book. Even if it may be out of your comfort zone, I implore you to give it a go!

I’m a steamy/ dark reader but sometimes I need something light and a bit sweet. This book hit all the marks I needed at the moment. This is a new author to me and I can’t wait to read more. This is book three for the series but I’ve only read this one and I found it easy to read without the others without any real confusion but I am very excited to read the others. This author writes some very connectable characters and a story with heart. I found it to be a nice quick read for myself with everything that made it a great story. Four big stars and so ready to read more. Highly recommend.

From the second I laid eyes on this beautifully captivating cover, my curiosity piqued. As soon as I realized who the author was, I knew I had to have it in my hands! This author has a remarkable ability to weave intricate tales that always draws me in, and each book feels like a journey into a gorgeously crafted world. This one is no exception!
Although this is a shorter read, it is masterfully filled with rich detail and depth. It’s beyond my wildest comprehension how she manages to create such an immersive experience without losing any momentum! The story flows seamlessly with each chapter unfolding at a natural pace that keeps you engaged from start to finish. I fell hopelessly in love with the characters and felt invested in them right away. The chemistry sizzles and there are twists that I didn’t see coming. I don’t want to give anything away and spoil the experience for anyone! I wholeheartedly recommend this book to anyone looking for a story that combines fantasy with heartfelt emotion.
Lapidius: Book 1 (A Nation Found Series) by Matthew Runals. This is my first book by this author but it won’t be my last. I absolutely loved it and its a young adult read. Its the story of 4 boys as they head to a military academy for training. Their parents are at their wits end because of poverty and not being able to provide for their families so Lapidius is their only option. Lapidius is a military academy for training in a war. There is also some extra training thrown in with some magic and dystopian factions thrown in. Friendships are formed between Joey, Kyle, Brian and Lucas and they have build bonds that will never be broken. This book is full of adventure, danger, famine and war but its also full of love and friendship. A great read for the older kids in your life!

Lapidius follows 4 friends through their time at Military school. Scrimmage matches with a paralysing powder, that also causes pain and eternal pain without the antidote. Each cadets receives powers from a magical cave, as well.
A corrupt officer that abuses his power and instills fear into his cadets, eventually gets caught and banned from the school and turns to the enemy to seek revenge.
Corrupt government steals the monuments from towns to prevent learning for the townspeople of their own history, and their protection from the monsters lurking in the woods, but with it they also start to lose their memories. The fate of nation lies in the hands of the cadets that range from 12-16.

Fate, Frankincense and Funerals tells the tale of shifters, 2 of which are considered outcast because they touch death and are forbidden to leave their territory or take a mate.
Acheron meets his mate on a death call, where he writes the dyings life stories and a dying wish, and helps prepare them to the afterlife. His mate is a hare, and he was told by the dying to accept the mate bond to end the unjust separation of the vultures and jackal shifters.
The dying, Cassie, also has a secret that involves the highest Jackal shifter.
Josh Blevins is tired of being hunted by creatures out for revenge. He has decided enough is enough and is done running. Before he goes out with a bang, he decides to write his story. We are then transported back to the beginning of the end for Josh.
After he fails at his career plans, Josh decides to move back home. After living in New York in a small apartment, he thinks it is time for him and his trusty husky, Nimrod, to go back to his country roots. He settles into a life in the small town of Midnight Falls. Everything seems calm and dull but in reality, it’s a town filled with secrets.
Being an outsider, Josh has no one he can trust except for Nimrod and a few other outsiders; Lizzie, Joey and Brad. Things start heating up between Josh and Lizzie when Nimrod gets outside and there is a gunfire sound. They come across a creature they have never seen before and it all goes downhill from there.
I was afraid this would not be my jam as I don’t normally read horror (I scare easily) but the cover intrigued me. I am a fan of werewolves and the monsters resemble them. I found the book to be more like a thriller than horror which was perfectly fine by me. The author did an amazing job bringing the characters to life and keeping you on the edge of your seat in anticipation. I also loved the detail the author went into writing Nimrod. He was so goofy and stubborn. It reminded me of my dog who is part husky. She is also a stubborn goofball.

What a world the author has created in this first book of A Nation Found series! In this dystopian novel, Novum Albion is nation facing famine and ruin due to greed and inflation. Hoping for a better future for their kids some parents are choosing to send their children to a military camp, Lapidius. Joey, Kyle, Brian, and Lucas are scared and unsure of what’s to come. What follows is a story of friendship, magic, adventure, and most of all unity.
Gosh, I truly enjoyed this book. Other reviews have compared it to Harry Potter and I have to agree. The author has built a wonderful world and an amazing cast of characters. I can’t wait to read the rest of the series.

Adorable. I love the Pride and Prejudice storyline and characters, and this was fun to read. It is a spinoff with the same characters we all fell in love with in the first place. Read this book if you like strengthening character, societal pressures, and a coming of age story.

This book had me on the edge of my seat from the first page until the last. Suspense is personally a lot for me to handle, but if you like that feeling, this is the book for you. The writing is clear and easily understood, great descriptions of the environment and scenes, as if you are there.

Having read the rest of the series, I was so excited to get my hands on the latest installment. I couldn’t wait to revisit this world and see what else it had in store. I instantly connected with the characters again and was pulled into their story. This book is everything I have come to expect from this series and really is a brilliant addition. The story was an exciting one to read and was well developed in the context of the overall series. This is an author that I don’t read very often but I always love when I do. Her stories are fantastically put together and the characters have a depth that makes them some of my favourite to read about. This book is my favourite of the series so far and I am looking forward to whatever might be next.

For some reason Abby rubs up the Joe , our amateur historian and school teacher the wrong way , she in turn is harbouring a crush of sorts on Joe 😉, he himself doesn’t even understand his animosity 🙈yet he’s determined to expose her secret but he’s or his own secrets and as much as I dislike him I can’t help but like him especially when he share how a library makes him feel ( I know I’m a weakling and I cave easily❣️📚🙈🤣)
Hold your horse Joe looses his heart to our Abby , all resistance crumbled and yes I did cry , I got frustrated and I got out of my skin excited , I just love Herd and it’s people and each time it’s hard to say goodbye but they’re always in my heart , they’re those kind of characters that just climb into your heart and you feel like you’re part of them 🥰

The story is original. It’s not like any other stories I have read which is one of the reasons I love Naomi’s books. Her stories are always original and descriptive. This one was a short story about forbidden love. The divisiveness and is relatable to real life. It does have some graphic mature parts but it is a really sweet story. It did keep me engaged and wanting to read the rest of the series.
This isn’t the first book I have read by this author and I am finding that I am always blown away with how well written her books are. This is a shifter book that doesn’t center-around the normal everyday shifters. This book has jackals, bats, and vultures. These are not in the norm of any shifter books I have read. There is also a twist by it being M/M. I am not as well versed in reading M/M but this book did not disappoint with that aspect at all. There is some spice to this book which just adds to the thrill of turning the pages. This books perfectly pieced together and the words just flow off the pages allowing you to visualize everything that is going on in the book. I love the character development that happens in this book. There is a struggle with the circumstances of the shifters in this book that each of the characters must overcome. That made this book a super quick read for me because I was dying to know what happened and I couldn’t put it down until it was finished. I am constantly trying to solve what is happening before I actually get there in the books that I read. I found myself not able to predict what was going to happen which makes this book even more special. Reviewed by: @bbohls

Josh Blevins reluctantly settles back in his little hometown with his devoted dog by his side following a string of setbacks and blunders during his time in college. Despite feeling like a failure and at a crossroads in his life, he has met new people and even fallen in love. However, the charming exterior of Midnight Falls that he recalled from his youth conceals a malevolent force. One that reaches far deeper and more terrifying depths than the hate that is carved in the streets and festers within the boundaries. Anyone can be a monster hiding behind a façade of friendliness.
Every page had you hanging on every sentence and I couldn’t wait to see what would happen. It is a very unique story with even compelling people. The story really transports you into this world. I couldn’t put the book down.

Abby has settled in Herd but she has always had a deep secret, but if the town knew would they treat her any different. Although now her secret needs to come out to be able to claim her birth rite but will the town forgive her and one person who she has grown to love accept her for how she is.
Joe is the local historian and school history teacher who gets on with everyone, well almost everyone. He has always had a dislike towards Abby he could not tell you why but he feels she is holding something back but as he gets to know her his opinion changes but what will the future hold when he does find out the secret.
Can there friendship and love survive or is there no going back?
This is the third book is this series and just as good as the first two, although this is classed as a series each book can be read as a stand alone. The book is a story of redemption and Abby has a lot from her history to redeem from but with her secret and worried how the town would perceive her I feel sorry for her.
At first I have to admit I was not liking the character of Joe, although kind and nice he took a while for me to warm up to him but in the end he redeemed his self and thought he and Abby made the perfect balance to each other.
The story is well written and weaves through secrets, lies and history and that you can never truly believe stories, with the twists and turns you will be engrossed to the end.

This was a gripping horror with twists and turns that I couldn’t see coming. It was a very unique read and had me thinking of old horror movies with plenty of jump scares along the way. The authors writing style is descriptive which really brought the creatures to life for me. As I read you also got to feel the tension, isolation and fear that our main character goes through in this story. When Josh returns home and settles into a little town called Midnight Falls, he feels he maybe able to start and rebuild his life. However things aren’t that easy. Right from the start he is treated as an outcast and has the constant feeling of being watched. Of course having a run in with the towns Sheriff and his son didn’t help him any in winning over the town. But there is something more. Something dark and dangerous that lurks in the town and around the people their. Something that could turn deadly. Now Josh finds himself in a situation he can’t really understand or comprehend. All he knows is that the towns people aren’t what and who they seem and that by uncovering this secret he may have signed his death warrant. Will he escape the town of Midnight Falls or will his discovery change the course of his life forever.
This story was gripping and I couldn’t put it down. It had everything you would want from a horror read.

“Hello Miss with many names, I am known as Verun. My sisters will help you all we can.” The voice was calming yet Scully was very hesitant to turn around to face the voice. A quick check of her sensors told her that this voice was alien. Again, the voice spoke, “We will not harm you.” Scully dug down deep inside her being to find the courage to turn and slowly she did so. She stood very still and took in the visage floating in front of her. “Call me Verun. Your sailors helped me learn your language before they succumbed just as your friends have. I can read their minds if you need to ask them questions. You may ask me anything as well.” The voice was calm, now quieter as if not to disturb others. In a voice mimicking Verun’s Scully asked, “What world are you from? I have met several others not from here but never anyone like you.”
Sarge, Goin Deep by Stuart Ledwith brings us more adventures with Sarge (and Co) joining characters we have met previously in ‘Mission 3047’ and ‘Sarge’- as well as meeting a host of new characters who help deliver this intriguing read. This is a unique story woven around a lot of interesting elements- intriguing characters, covert ops, top secret agencies, military missions/rescue mission, UFO’s, drama, action, investigation, mystery, suspense, aliens/alien encounters, and more. This is an adventure we won’t soon forget. As with his other unique offerings, I appreciate the amount of blood, sweat, and ‘soul’ that the author puts into his writing, as well as his unique take on things. Happy Reading…
