Midnight Falls by John Evans – Review by Kerry Carr

Midnight FallsMidnight Falls by John (ronin) Evans
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was a gripping horror with twists and turns that I couldn’t see coming. It was a very unique read and had me thinking of old horror movies with plenty of jump scares along the way.
The authors writing style is descriptive which really brought the creatures to life for me. As I read you also got to feel the tension, isolation and fear that our main character goes through in this story.
When Josh returns home and settles into a little town called Midnight Falls, he feels he maybe able to start and rebuild his life. However things aren’t that easy.
Right from the start he is treated as an outcast and has the constant feeling of being watched. Of course having a run in with the towns Sheriff and his son didn’t help him any in winning over the town.
But there is something more. Something dark and dangerous that lurks in the town and around the people their. Something that could turn deadly.
Now Josh finds himself in a situation he can’t really understand or comprehend. All he knows is that the towns people aren’t what and who they seem and that by uncovering this secret he may have signed his death warrant. Will he escape the town of Midnight Falls or will his discovery change the course of his life forever.

This story was gripping and I couldn’t put it down. It had everything you would want from a horror read.
