The illustrations are beautiful and the story is so sweet. It was perfect for my kids, age-wise, (3& 6). It shows kids to accept themselves, no matter what anyone else says, and they are perfect just as they are. I love how this story is about a real pup and gives some info on him. There is a part on the last page that is a passage from the bible, and while it is about what the story is trying to teach the child if you are not religious (or a different religion) this book might not be for you.
