This is a cute little story. I think this is a great story to share with your child when they are about to become an older brother. It helps to make them see that the upcoming sibling is a good thing as they will be someone the new brother will look up to. The story also reminds them that they are not being replaced but rather that they will now have someone to share their life with. I recommend this story to any parent who is about to welcome another child into the family, read this story with your other child and share with them how they are going to be such a great big brother.

This is my first book by this author, so I had no expectations going in. I enjoy science fiction books, so I thought I would give it a shot. I discovered in the first few chapters that it was not the book for me.
I’ll leave these quotes from the book here as to what set the tone and gave me a difficult reading experience: – …an exceedingly unlucky tribe of Gitchiegoomba Injuns, discovered part of the intact ship protruding from some faintly glowing rocks. Informed by their medicine man that it was a God, they immediately fell to worshipping it, making sacrifices… and consuming copious amounts of peyote. As was their custom. – Perchance the medicine man was a drooling idiot… – Descendants of these… Injuns later became known as Indians, and later, American Indians, and still later, Native Americans. Evolution at work… how progressive. – This esteemed scientist thinks racism is in all peoples. He’s right; it is. It’s as natural as thought; it’s the instinct of self-preservation. Neanderthals weren’t racist. Perhaps they were an early form of… Woke.
There are also several other slurs used in other parts of the story.
I understand that this story, in part, was meant to have an undertone of humor. I suppose this sense of humor just doesn’t vibe with mine.
I gave the book four stars because the overall story line and concept is creative and the actual story telling is good. I just wasn’t a fan of the general tone.

This is the 6th book in the Philly Heat series. I have read these books in order and I can honestly say they get better with each story. The author has a talent for creating stories that captivate a reader and doesn’t let go. With loads of twists and turns I can never tell which way the story is going to go and the characters are written in a way that makes them seem real. So much so that you can’t help but be invested in their story.
Maddi is a social worker who finds herself in charge of the care of a 15 year old who has witnessed a murder. Now Maddi has to try and find the young girls brother to reunite them all while keeping her safe from harm. However things aren’t so straight forward when the person hunting 15 year old Kat is now hunting Maddi too. Add to this the attraction that flares between Maddi and Kat’s brother Nate and what unravels is a story of high stakes, where no one is safe and protecting the women in his life also becomes a dangerous game for Nate. Can the police capture the murderer before they strike again?
Wow, this was such a heartwarming book for little ones finding themselves with a sibling. Sibling love is such a special bond and this author shows us that in spades. I was lucky to have an amazing sister who looked after me and loved me like this little boy. I will be looking for more books from this author to read to my grandson. The illustrations are bright and eye-catching. I loved this story.

An enjoyable and engaging read which kept me happily turning the pages. A tragedy forces Del to literally pull the plug on her unhappy marriage and leaves desperate to escape. In a bid to regain control over her life Del heads off to Africa. Whilst volunteering at a school Del meets the celebrity and orphanage founder Ben Mahoney. If being handsome and charming wasn’t enough to make her heart flutter, he also shares her passion for education. Ben is keen to hear her bold plans to improve the school, but she finds he often catches her off guard. Especially as he appears to like her! The likeable and relatable Del was a wonderful character who I really felt for and was invested in her story. The chemistry between her and Ben came across in the narrative. The stunning African setting was brought to life making me feel immersed in the story. I enjoyed the inspirational storyline following Del as she finds herself and follows her dream of volunteering in Africa.

It’s filled with tension, passion and heart! This is a well written story that is easy to read, emotional roller coaster with humor, witty banter, and love, which leads to an entertaining, unpredictable, heartwarming read.
Charlie and Joy have so many layers to them that are slowly revealed as their story continues. There’s definitely some twists I didn’t see coming. Overall I think this book is fantastic and I definitely recommend!

A gripping romantic suspense thriller and the conclusion of the enjoyable ‘Things Unseen’ series. Having read and enjoyed the two previous books, being back with Dr. Cornelius O’Brien and psychotherapist Neve Keane, was like meeting old friends again! Cornelius (Con) takes girlfriend Neve for a romantic break in his home country of Ireland. Before they can relax they have to do a favour for the President of the United States. Checking in on his goddaughter who’s studying in Cork was supposed to be easy, but Neve and Con find themselves in a terrifying situation. Both Con and Neve face terrible dilemmas and must make difficult choices whilst in danger. Once again the descriptive narrative brought both the characters and the setting vividly to life, making me feel immersed in Con and Neve’s world again. I liked how their relationship developed throughout the series of books, and the chemistry between them really came across in the narrative. This action packed and fast paced story had me hooked from page one. Whilst the plot twists and the building suspense kept me reading late into the night!

Betrayal by Jennifer Raines is the third book in the Choosing Family Series. This story involves Anna Turner and Hunter Thompson. Anna is trying to provide a daycare option for the single mothers she works with. At the last minute the building gets bought in a hostile takeover and Anna is at a loss. Anna meets Hunter at a work event and soon sparks fly against her better judgment but soon realizes that Hunter is the new owner of the building that ended her contract. It was interesting to read Anna and Hunter navigating not only the contract issues but also the secrets that popped up. These two wanted the same things but were very guarded. The romance is a slow burn but satisfying to read. The characters had great chemistry and witty banter. This was a fun read that took quite a few turns but ended in a good space.

It seems that everyone she has contact with at the Inn has some sort of deep, dark secret. All come crashing to a head when the establishment’s proprietor winds up dead. Who did it – the guest with a long-standing hatred for the manager’s mother? The couple to whom the deceased owed money. It is up to the hapless police and our heroine to solve the mystery.
Unfolding from multiple perspectives the story moves at a fairly rapid pace and is occasionally a bit bogged down with too much detail. However, if you are looking for a cozy mystery to fill a winter day, this will fit the bill.

Quarterback Keeper is the first book in the Fall Lake Ballers series by Isla Vaughn. I was excited when this book came out as I have previously really enjoyed the Hidden Valley Elite series. This was a really enjoyable book and I am pleased I was all contained in the one volume rather than splitting it into two books. This books follows Gia, who is a young woman on the run from an abusive relationship, and Kylian, an aspiring Quarterback who is surprised to find Gia hiding on his private yacht. This book was really fast paced with lots of drama and a few twists. I despised Kylian’s father which is always the sign of a good read. I really enjoyed it and will definitely be reading the rest of the series.

What I as a parent loved about this story was the message it teaches children. It teaches them Social Skills, how to embrace being different, compassion, not to judge, being responsible when making decisions, self awareness and so much more. Follow along with Donut the Dog as he learns to be patient while trying to make new friends with Peanut the Squirrel. Can he convince peanut to be his friend and can they overcome differences? Another great book from Allan Evans! Spooky Squad is a young adult paranormal story than continues with the life of 14 year old Abbey who can communicate with ghosts. You absolutely can read this book on its own but I would recommend that you read them in order as this is the third book and you learn so much about Abbey and her gift in the first two books. She has a small group of friends that know about her abilities and are there to support her and help in her adventures with the paranormal. I would highly recommend this book whether for your young adult reader, or for anyone who enjoys young adult paranormal stories.

The London Detective Agency Complete Series gives the reader two books they won’t want to put down. Both contain a lot of suspense, intrigue, and some romance thrown in. Though they are part of a series they don’t need to be read that way. But as someone who has read both, once you read one you’ll be grasping for the other. Mistaken Identity is a book about a woman who is going to study abroad but who ends up in police protection from a dangerous family. This book was good. I enjoyed it but I liked book two more. Be My Little Baby is about a woman dealing with a stalker that nobody is taking seriously. That is until she begs for help and the stalker ups the stakes. You want books that’ll keep you on the edge of your seat, both of these books will do just that. And then some. Highly recommended if you enjoy suspense novels. Especially since the way the author wrote the character dynamic gives it something more.

This is the sixth installment of the Philly Heat series, and it is just as incredible as the previous five! You can read this as a standalone, so don’t turn away just because you see #6 in the title. After you finish reading it, you’ll find yourself going back to read the rest of the series anyways because it is fantastic! The author has a unique writing style that engages you from the very beginning and before you know it, you’ve devoured the entire book in one sitting. I enjoyed the fast pace as it made it easy to finish this book in one day. The character development really stood out to me as each one was relatable and felt more like catching up with a friend instead of just reading a story. There is plenty of tension to keep you on the edge of your seat. I found myself reading faster and faster as I turned each page because I needed to find out what was going to happen. There were even a few twists that I didn’t see coming and took me completely by surprise. If you are looking for a captivating romantic suspense novel, this one will definitely keep your attention. I can’t wait to see what else this author has in store for us!

Sarge: Going Deep by Stuart Ledwith PHD. Is the continuation of Mission 3047. This is definitely one of those books that you can absolutely lose yourself in but also one of those special ones you have to savor. From start to finish you can definitely feel the love the author had for this series. I adored this book, and refused to put it down. I definitely recommend this series!

The London Detective Agency book series is a great murder mystery. In the first book Mistaken Identity about Patrick and Evelyn, Evelyn has someone else’s bag which sends off a crime boss to find her. I love how this book focuses on both people in the story and how you get to know what is happening to each other chapter by chapter. This book will keep you guessing who the killer is. It will also show what happened to the other person who has Evelyn’s bag and why the Crime bosses are after her. So, grab a drink and some snacks and enjoy the first book. If you enjoy this book, then you will enjoy the second one Be My Little Baby Which is about Tessa who is a baker that becomes famous in London. She suddenly has a stalker and meets James Who helps her try to figure out who is stalking her. I love how this book has a little bit of romance while dealing with someone stalking her. This book like the first is a great Who done it. This is a great series, and you can read them both here So like I said earlier grab some popcorn your Kindle, or your physical book and a nice drink and enjoy this who-dun-it page-turner series. I usually stick to my typical historical fiction, fantasy, and Romantic comedies, but every now and then I like to branch out and read something fresh, out of my realm. Science Fiction is not something I usually read, but original and intriguing this definitely was. Now, this is apparently a continuation of a character from another book by this author, so I cannot attest to if these read better in some certain order or not. This was a unique sci-fi story that if you’re looking to shake up your reading or even if you read this genre all the time would be a worthwhile read.
