An exciting period of development and change occurs when a new baby brother joins the family. By encouraging acceptance and involvement in taking care of a younger brother, this book is excellent for preparing your “not so little one” for the new position of big brother. The big brother in this endearing book is ecstatic to have a younger sibling and gives him a kiss upon arrival. Big brother is excellent at teaching the baby how to do things, from playing peek-a-boo to teaching them that cows moo. Not only does he assist in determining the baby’s requirements and teach them how to share, but his greatest contribution as a big brother is his unwavering presence and friendship.
This is a great book for kids who are getting a sibling. This shows them a greater understanding of the meaning of having a sibling

This book is targeted toward a young audience, and I would definitely recommend it to parents and teachers and even children’s librarians. The illustrations are vibrant and beautiful. As I was moving from page to page, I felt almost like I was near the river, seeing the animals described and drawn. This book is short, making it a perfect bedtime story, or quick read for a squirmy kid. Themes covered within the book are “hard hitting”, such as pollution, yet touched on lightly in a way that won’t confuse young children and may even go unnoticed but be a good jumping off point for further discussion.

Kody gets left on the plane and goes on a mighty adventure. He shares how you can have an adventure also. I love this little story. It’s entertaining and teaches a really fun lesson. I loved the little lesson on counting to 10 in Italian at the end. Always dream. It has bright pictures and a story that will keep the kids engaged. It was a winner in my house.

A Safe Place (Philly Heat Series) by Becky Flade is a great romantic suspense
Kat Anderson, a 15-year-old fugitive, witnesses a horrific murder. Maddi O’Hara, a social worker, is called in to give the flight-risk kid with emergency accommodation. It becomes apparent that the man the police are searching for is pursuing Kat as Maddi attempts to bring her and her brother Nathaniel back together. Nate finds himself falling in love with the woman guarding his little sister as the threat increases.
Every page had you hanging on every sentence and I couldn’t wait to see what would happen. It is a very unique story with even compelling people. The story really transports you into this world. I couldn’t put the book down.
A beautiful story about friendship. The back and forth of letters shares the love of friends. Beautiful and colorful illustrations that will keep children engaged. A fun and entertaining story that shows them that change is okay. This is a wonderful book that was a hit in our house. Having grown up as a military kid myself, I wish we had had books like this back then.

This is another book that I sure wish we had had when I was younger. Having grown up as a military kid, this would have helped with transitions. It’s a wonderful story that helps explain transitions and how they go. There are bright illustrations that will hold onto the child’s attention. This is really a neat series of books that helps kids understand a little about being a military family and having to move around a lot. A winner in our house.

I really enjoyed this story. Being written during a time when women weren’t exactly at the forefront career wise made this a really intriguing mystery. I found the premise to be strong. The mystery was entertaining to figure out. I had to work to solve it and I enjoyed the twists in the story. It was a very well written story with a strong FMC.

Joy does not want to be in River Falls, years of putting distance between her and her home town has been erased in one day. With her mom’s passing she has been called to deal with her mother’s estate but there is one glitch, her mother’s shop, to be able to sell it she has to bring it up to code and that’s were the bane of her life comes into play, Charlie Hunnicutt.
Charlie is an expert in restoration and loves his home town of River Falls, but when Helene daughter arrive she becomes the thorn in his side, not really caring about the town she is constantly pushing him and when the initial meeting did not go exactly as planned he starts doubting how he will win over this hard hitting woman.
As they start working together and get to see inside each other, sparks start to fly but can Joy invest in the relationship Charlie wants and needs.
This story is a enemies to lovers and is beautiful to read, although part of a series the book can be read as a stand alone story. The story weaves beautifully through the thoughts of Joy reliving some of the horrors of her past but then developing the feelings toward Charlie which she is conflicted with and not sure about.
I loved the character of Charlie and his laid back attitude was a great to counter balance to Joy’s straight forward ADHD mannerisms. The secondary characters also added an extra layer to the story. I can’t wait to read more of this series going forward.

When they warn you there’s a cliffhanger THERE’S A FREAKING CLIFFHANGER. Not sure what I expected but it wasn’t that! All in all Shadows In The Dark is a very good book but if you are new to the BDSM world thus one would be a little shocking and you might want to choose something a bit lighter to start with. I was expecting something a little darker but overall I’m anything but disappointed. Very much so looking forward to the next one!!

This is the kind of situation where Sarge is in his element and so he dives right in, but his usual second in command is on holiday, so he calls upon her daughter Dr Liv Manginaro, she has a special interest in translation and is more than happy to jump in at the deep end, especially when on further investigation, it turns out that this will not just be a regular mission with extraterrestrials, it will be a rescue mission as well.
Unfortunately, things don’t go quite to plan and Dr Liv has to take the lead with rescuing the individuals, helping a completely new extraterrestrial race and all the while, learning about and working with the US Navy, using skills and determination she never knew she had to solve every problem this unusual situation is throwing her way, plus gaining the moniker of “Agent Scully”.

This was a fast paced, action packed quick read. Roran is a rule breaker. He likes to mingle and interact with human women. After a battle with Dragon Hunters he meets his mate. A human named Lila. He is instantly drawn to protect her from an assault. Things heat up and Lila is thrown into a world she didn’t know existed. This was a great read.

I am a science nerd and this story registered with my soul. It’s a beautifully written slow burn romance about healing and taking a leap of faith in love. I absolutely loved all the bird facts. This book was so cute. I loved reading Niko’s broken English. The heat between Niko and Chloe was perfect. You could literally feel the attraction jump off of the pages. They match so well.
Throughout the book everytime Peyton was mentioned I sighed and rolled my eyes. Custody battles are the worse. They bring out the worst in people and she was no different. Super glad everything worked out.
I also didn’t realize it was apart of a series until after I finished the book. I’m not menopause age yet but it was I testing reading about Chloe’s experience.

I love this author! One of my favorites! Quarterback Keeper gives us a promising start to a brand new series. I always love when A favorite author of mine comes out with a new series. Gives me something to get excited about and something to look forward to! Like the last series I read by this author, football is involved. Which just ticks off another box for me, I’m a sucker for a sports romance. Obviously different characters and setting but the same can’t be put down till you’re finished reading. I love the twists and turns of these books as well as the character dynamics. This new book is no different. Gia is on the run. Hiding from an abusive ex. When she stows away on a random boat she feels she’s currently in the clear. What she doesn’t realize is that the boat’s owner is going to change her life. Will it be for the better? Well I guess you will have to jump in to find out. Kylian is stressed. Dealing with football, class, his mom’s prognosis, on top of his dad trying to force him into a relationship stumbles upon a happy surprise. Deciding to take his boat out one night, not realizing he has a passenger, he’s trying to clear his head. It’s not till he stumbles across Gia that he comes up with a plan. A “you scratch my back I’ll scratch yours” idea. Fake date, fake engagement, and if need be fake marriage. He wants to make his dying mother’s last wish come true, while keeping his dad at bay. Will Gia agree? Will it actually work? You know these stories, nothing is ever that simple. There’s always a twist. There’s always drama. And Quarterback Keeper is no different. Now it’s up to you if you are going to jump in on Gia & Kylian’s adventure. All I can say is if you do, you won’t be disappointed!

The trouble with possibilities by Nancie Abuhaidar, this was an amazing book that starts off with our FMC Delaney or Del for short. Landing in Africa for a non profit teaching program. Here we meet our MMC Ben who is an absolute sweetheart. From here we learn Del is a widow with two kids trying to figure her life out. We follow her journey of clumsiness and determination. She is funny and realistic, she is a wonderful character to follow around. Throughout the book we get to learn about her life and her kids. We also get to watch her try and learn how to love and be loved, it’s a tough journey and definitely worth the read.

The author hit it out of the park with this one..hmm wrong metaphor..she scored the game winning touchdown with this one! Kylian and Gia meet in an unorthodox way, but quickly figure out they can help one another and begin a “fake” relationship to meet one another’s needs….but things aren’t always so simple. Gia’s past and the danger it brings lurks beneath the pages throughout the read and Kylian’s mess of responsibilities add to the complexity.
I’m very familiar with this author and have read previous series from her, so I knew I had to pick this one up and I was not disappointed. The author, as always, put together a page-turning read with excellent characters. She has an effortless writing style that pulls you in as a reader from the first pages and makes you keep going until you’ve devoured the whole story. She has excellent character development, slowly developing and adding complexity to them throughout the story, but giving you everything you want and need as a reader. There is suspense, a bit of heat, and just an overall excellent start to a new series. I’ll be picking up every book as it releases!

This is the final book in this intense and action packed, explosive series and I couldn’t wait to finish it to see how it ends. We have followed the Masters of the Consulate as they chase the rogues and find their chosen mates in the midst of the hunt. With Slobozia, he is completely suspicious of the witches, due to the centuries of hate between the two groups. Taylen is hoping to join the Warriors Group and has zero interest in getting involved with Slobozia, but as the hunt continues, they are thrown together in a race to defeat the rogues. The twists and turns that the book takes you on will keep you reading until the last page. While it was amazing to see the series wrap up, its bitter sweet as it’s such an engaging series. Definitely a great series and each book can be read as a standalone, but I recommend starting at book 1 and reading your way through the series to get the full impact.

I need a dog like Bravo in my life, think he would get along great with my sweet Daisy. He was such a good boy, protecting Madison and Kat even when it wasn’t necessary.
Madison’s story broke my heart, she built a good life for herself in spite of the tough beginning. She pours her heart into a pretty thankless job to take care of kids who have no one else or could have better people in their lives.
Nate and Kat’s story is sad but not like Madisons, they at least had their grandmother to care for them until she passes while Nate is overseas leaving Kat to fend for herself. She finds herself in a dangerous situation when she sees something she shouldn’t have.
I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more by Ms. Flade in the future.

I have read another Productivity of Power book and it has helped me alot so I thought I would give this one a try also. The ones that helped me the most in this book were Developing a Nonperfectionist Inner, The Perils of Overgiving, and “Unproductive” Versus “Quasi Productive” Procrastination, and Other Distractions. I’m looking forward to putting what I learned here to great use. In this the author emphasizes mindfulness and self-care, by advocating for mental well-being, she underscores that productivity isn’t just about getting more done—it’s about maintaining a healthy balance. She also emphasizes the importance of time management and provides tools to do so. With these practices it aims to empower students to take control of their time and energy, enhancing both academic performance and overall well-being.The book is well-structured, blending practical advice with psychological insights. I will definitely be recommending this to people I know.

Whisper is a disembodied spirit with knowledge, but no memories. While this might sound like a good thing, Whisper’s first experience of existence is fear, panic, and coldness. Finding compassion in a young woman named Ethene, this instantly becomes her favorite connection. All too quickly the joy of learning how to control “her” body and move, and talk she is faced with what death means. Death is an ending. Her goal quickly becomes that of staying alive and keeping others from being ended because of them. Whisper wants to make death, killing and ending outlawed. They want fear to be eradicated so that no one will ever feel it again. Will Whisper succeed in protecting all from death and fear? Can she keep Ethene safe to achieve her goals? Or will Whisper slip back into the trees, and vines to live out their days? Being inside Whisper’s mind gave me Host feelings but at the same time so much more. Whisper isn’t a preexisting being they are a newborn and while they have no memories, they have knowledge they can pull on to quickly understand basic information. Only their first feeling of existence is nearly their ending. Ending another is quickly understood to be wrong by them and the journey they go on to try and abolish it will take you on an adventure with twists, turns, and revelations you may have never thought about before opening this book and diving in headfirst. Highly recommend. I will diffidently be keeping my eyes out for book two, to see what happens next in this amazing new and original series.

This was my first venture into this author’s work, but the cover art grabbed my attention right away. As soon as I read the synopsis, I knew I had to dive in. I was taken aback by how much I loved this book. It has been one of the top reads for the entire year! This is a captivating fantasy novel that explores profound themes of existence, choice, and the morality of power through the lens of a sentient curse. The story begins with Whisper’s harrowing first experience, causing a death that haunts it throughout the narrative. The complexity of Whisper’s character is compelling and the relationships it builds with its allies are touching, revealing its desire to protect those it comes to cherish.
The world-building is rich and immersive, and the tenion escalates beautifully leading to a moral quandary that asks readers to ponder the cost of eradicating death: who must die for the sake of a greater good? The prose is lyrical and thoughtful, blending action with philosophical reflection, allowing readers to engage deeply with the characters’ motivations. The pacing is well-balanced, with moments of introspection interspersed with thrilling encounters, ensuring the narrative never loses momentum. The author fit plenty of humor in as well. This book truly has it all!
Ultimately, this is a poignant exploration of sacrifice and the nature of existence. It will have a significant impact on you and leave you to reflect long after the final pages. This novel is a must-read for anyone who enjoys complex characters and thought-provoking narratives in their fantasy literature. It’s a fresh take on the genre that lingers in the mind, challenging our understanding of life, death, and what it truly means to be human.

I’ve read many books by this author, and I am never disappointed. I really hope that we get more books in this series and get to see how everything works out for all of the other characters. Once again, I’m invested in another Isla Vaughn series.

The London Detective Agency is a fast-paced, happily ever after thriller. I initially read the second book in this series, and after, I really needed to get all of Patrick and Evie’s story. I couldn’t put this one down.
If you like fantasy mixed with drama and romance, Sanctuary is the book for you. Bree Lewandowski is a first time author for me so I wasn’t sure what to expect. The cover art caught my attention and the synopsis pulled me in. I enjoy fantasies and the added elements of battle, along with the slow-burn romance and drama of life in a royal city made this a very interesting read. It did start off a little slow, but once it picked up, I couldn’t put it down! The world building is delightfully descriptive; I could picture myself in the Cloistered City with Petra, experiencing the sights, sounds, and smells of the many places she is exposed to. I felt Petra’s confusion, horror, and rejection upon learning of the circumstances of her brother’s death. I felt the connection between Petra and Rand grow and change as the story went on. The characters are fantastical yet realistic, believable, and lovable. I do hope there will be more to Petra and Rand’s story and Sanctuary will not be the last I read from Bree Lewandowski.
