This is the best book I’ve read with BDSM as a main part of the plot that actually rang kind of true. Of course, there are elements that are very unlikely in the real world BUT it did not make it seem like a BDSM relationship is inherently abusive, and I love that it shows that the submissive actually DOES have power in the relationship dynamic. I’ve read too many books that use BDSM as a way to make an abusive relationship seem normal and I take issue with that because it is not an accurate depiction of the lifestyle.
Adrian is chef’s kiss. I’d happily visit Lotus for him any time…and giving up control is not my favorite thing to do. I enjoyed the relationship arc between Adrian and Brynn, even though there are elements that made me think of 50 Shades (the ending for one). I’m also now very interested in Shibari-I need to do some research-kink unlocked. I’m excited to read more about them in the next book!
