A Song of Salt and Secrets is the second book in the Mythic Academy Collection by Amanda Marin. It is a YA teen fantasy with sirens, an ancient Goddess, a curse, magic, romance as well as friendships. It has a little mermaid vibe just revamped. We follow Corisande, who is a siren, attending the Magwitch Academy. She is desperately trying to keep her cursed singing voice under control, but despite warnings, she lures in Noah, who is a student at a nearby Prep school, and almost kills him when he crashes his boat. Cue in angry Goddess Aphrodite. Corisande is rapidly starting to feel a pull towards Noah. Fate must have a plan, even if it doesn’t seem that way at the moment.

Will Corisande ever be able to control her curse? Will Aphrodite cause problems than cannot be averted? How could Noah ever love a monster like Corisande?

While this is the second book in the collection, it is and can be read as a stand-alone. Looking forward to reading more from this author.

**Noah’s mom is probably the only aspect of the book I did not like. While I understand she was wanting to keep her son safe, it came off really odd. But it did not make that big of an impact of how much I loved the book.
