She’s No Cowgirl (My Cowboy Series). Review by Jennifer Ramos

She's No CowgirlShe’s No Cowgirl by Brooke May
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Part of the My Cowboy Series, this story centers around Hunter and Kennedy. Hunter grew up in a ranchers’ family as well as a legendary bull rider for a father but refuses to settle into the life he’s grown to know and instead pave his own way into playing football. On the other hand, as a young girl, Kennedy loved the game of football and was able to play within a boys league and after some disputes was no longer able to play. As she grew older, she paved her own way onto the platform of sports broadcasting, another predominantly male field. A chance meeting of Hunter and Kennedy will bring out warm feelings but could these feelings lead to harmful consequences.
Brooke May establishes such great characters to dominate her stories who are strong willed, focused, driven and in careers that center back to the cowboy way of life. Getting to know these new characters more in depth and seeing where this story takes us into their experiences makes this story such an enjoyable and quick read.

The Gauntlet: The Soppranaturale SeriesThe Gauntlet: The Soppranaturale Series by Ashley Pagano
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Ashley Pagano is a new author for me and I am soooo happy! She writes so beautifully and gave us a story that you can’t put down until you’re finished. This book held all the mystery and intrigue and I enjoyed the sense of a fighting spirit. It was well put together and the characters absolutely made the book! I was flipping pages, heart racing, and palms sweating more than once! A great book to travel to another world in! It had great balance and was a fun exciting read!!

Jake (Billionaire Blind Dates Book 1) by Toni Denise – Review by Shavon Brown

Jake (Billionaire Blind Dates Book 1)Jake by Toni Denise
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

A new twist on the billionaire genre. This is the story of Jake and Lauren and it does not disappoint. Jake using an app to find someone who doesn’t care about how rich he is. He does this by using an app that sets up blind dates in complete dark, so you get to know people before you see them.
Using this app he stumbles upon Lauren who happens to work for him.

This book has the slow burn that a lot of romances don’t and it gives you that will they wont they vibe. Its a quick and easy read for those of us who enjoy the romance genre.

I will say the one thing I did not like about this book was that there wasn’t a great deal of character development. And also it was all written in bold print which really made it hard to read for me.

My Bronc Riding Girl (My Cowboy Series) Review by Jennifer Ramos

My Bronc Riding CowgirlMy Bronc Riding Cowgirl by Brooke May
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This story centered around the developing careers and love story of Tori and Cord. Tori, an up and coming bronc rider, following the footsteps of her legenendry father and paving her own way into this competitive and male-dominated scene. Cord, a popular bronc rider traveling across the country to different shows and a popular ladies’ man. Tori is such a determined and focused woman who will not let anything stop her from riding her bronc. But Cord notices her, he is taken aback by her beauty and strong will. Even though she doesn’t give into his charming looks and demeanor, he draws him more into her.
Such a quick, pleasurable read getting to know these characters and being immersed into the world of bronc riding. I truly loved seeing the love connection of a man falling for a strong willed woman. He mentions in his thoughts how her beauty as a tomboy and even dressed without makeup and being who she genuinely is makes it hard for them not to try to pursue her.

Operation Pinpoint (Space Force Rejects Book 1) by Landra Graf – Review by Mary Espinoza

Operation PinpointOperation Pinpoint by Landra Graf
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is not my normal genre for reading, but the cover looked was intriguing enough to give it a try. I had no idea what to expect from this book, like the saying goes “don’t judge a book by its cover!”. I am glad that I decided to go ahead and indulge into this interesting, entertaining read. The story was short, but was full of adventure, and this is enough to keep you enjoying the story from start to finish. Captain Ravenna is on a mission to rescue her love at any cost, or at least that’s what she thinks she needs to do. This includes teaming up with an untrustworthy alien named Dravos. Dravos is a prisoner that is out on his own mission to find the missing Space Force vessel, searching for freedom. The way their stories connect while searching to accomplish their missions is bound to draw you in. If you are looking for a new sci-fi read with love triangle romance then this is the book to pick up and give a try.

Just brilliant!
I have put off reading this book due to it being the (possible) last book of the series. I have thoroughly enjoyed every book and this just made reading this one a little bit harder. The author has brought the whole series brilliantly together and the imagery draws the reader into a dystopian world that has so many parallels to our own. I loved seeing the characters grow and how the tribe came together to face adversity time and time again. This instalment has heightened emotions as it focuses on the children. I can not recommend this series enough. A keeper.

This book was different from anything I have read before. The story pulled me into an adventure of magic, heartache, character growth and so much more. This is the first book I have read by this author and I’m glad I gave it a chance. I found myself rooting for Hester as she goes through so much in her life. The further I got in the story the more I got pulled into it. While I’m reading I keep hoping love will win out and Hester can have everything she wants out of life. If you want to know how this turns out, this is a must read. I recommend this book.

  1. A YA book about wishes and dreams and how you have to be careful what you wish for. Bax must realize that wishes can become reality. A darker version of YA fiction full of action that will keep you guessing. Sacrifice for friends and a true coming of age story. Good read to the very end!!

Rock Bottom (Satan’s Devils MC Book #7) Audiobook by Manda Mellett – Review by Bobbi Wagner

This is an author that I have enjoyed listening to from the first audible.  This is a series that is entertaining and has steamy characters.   A series you don’t want to miss.  I enjoyed how the narrator was able to pull me into the story.  They used different tones to keep the story engaging and had me coming back for more.   It is an emotional roller coaster story along with twists and turns that left me wondering what would happen next.  I really enjoyed listening to this book and highly recommend it.

I enjoyed reading this romance book. This is not my first book by this author but it is one of my favorites. This is the second book in this series and it just keeps getting better and better. I enjoyed how the characters brought the story to life. They pulled me into their story with ease and held my attention to the end. There is great chemistry and growth throughout. A story where love and protection could be blurred together. What happens when those lines are crossed? I really enjoyed how the story had a realistic feel to it and I had no problem picturing myself with the characters. What happens in this story you don’t want to miss. I highly recommend this book and this author.

This was such a great series from start to finish. Once you’re introduced to a character you start to wonder whether the author has a story to tell about them. The author did not disappoint! I loved the family bond between everyone as well. Every story had it’s unique set of circumstances and obstacles for the characters to over come, but they were all also interwoven in such a way that it was easy to follow along. If you want to dig into some great books and have time to binge read I highly recommend this series.

J.L Sullivan crafted a unique story that blurs the lines of reality and fantasy. This book was so easy to read and kept me turning pages to devour more and more. Mafia Elite Box Set: Volume TwoMafia Elite Box Set: Volume Two by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Fantastic Box Set!! I would recommend reading this series in order as the author weaves all the characters into each book….

Savage Secrets Book 4 – I love how the author weaves in each character all the way from the beginning of book one and into this book of Marco and Elena. I feel so invested and part of each “family”. If you love a fantastic mafia romance book with secrets, agenda and some sizzling moments this is for you! Truly recommended and another 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 5 star book!

Ruthless Heir Book 5 – I love the chemistry between Luc and Summer in this book. I love a strong female character and Summer’s character was totally fantastic! Summer is on the run, trying to escape her roommate’s boyfriend, Ben. Summer ends up fleeing to Chicago, and ends up meeting up with Luc for a night of fun. Luc, whom is a very successful businessman but finds out he is the head of the Brambilla mafia family. Little did Summer know that who her new boss is at her job…ends up being Luc. There are plenty of twist and turns in this story along with secrets and danger. Will Luc protect Summer from what is to come? Definitely read and find out!!

Collateral Damage Book 6 – This story of Trey and Hailey I loved, and I couldn’t put the book down from beginning to end. Trey is not only part of the mafia, he is a brilliant surgeon as well. His thoughts consumed by the death of his girlfriend and feels like no one else can break down his walls, until he meets Hailey. Things get a bit out of control when Hailey is kidnapped and Trey will do anything to get Hailey back. As you read more, there is danger, intrigue, lies, blackmail and all wrapped up into some great twists I did not see coming!

Rivals Book 7 – This book of Nico and Mia is fantastic fantastic fantastic!!
Mia…wow….she is tough as nails but what she endured…my heart truly broke in a million pieces between her father using her as a pawn and her step brother Ricco, whom I totally despised. When enough was enough, is bravely flees away from her family. Mia know how bad it is, especially her step brother Ricco. Mia has a purpose…take down her own family.

Nico is quiet, loyal and fierce. He will do everything to protect the “families” no matter what. When Mia seeks NIco out with a proposal….this is where it gets interesting. Mia wants protection from none other than NIco…but what is the cost? Family secrets, bartering..will Nico break down his own walls and protect Mia and help her? Intrigue, deceit, trust but the spark and sizzle that goes along with Nico and Mia was perfect!

This series of books is just fantastic and I cannot get enough. The characters, story line..all of it really grabbed me from beginning to end.

True Colors: Book Three (Colors Trilogy)True Colors: Book Three by K. R. Raye
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book was a great but emotional conclusion to the series. The book picks up a year after the events of the previous book and we get to find out where life continues to take Imani, Melody, Lance and the rest of the crew. If you’ve read the previous books, you know that the characters have very eventful lives that include times of happiness and sadness, but no matter what they continue to persevere. This book for me hit close to home with some topics and I cried, but I also smiled and laughed with the characters as they continued to make their marks on me as a reader. I would recommend this book and the entire series for anyone who enjoys stories that are eventful, yet true to life.

Nightfall in Deptford (Crescent Moon Chronicles Book 4) by L.E. Towne – Review by Maryn Belling

“Not all monsters (are) bad, some (are) handsome creatures that listen to your troubles and serve beer”

Welcome to a timeline where things are warped. American readers will slide a side-eye at the revised canonical realities between the text and their history classes – careful where you read this; the trolls might be watching.

Otherwise, bouncing back and forth between London 1593 and contemporary Philadelphia is as seamless as going to the Renaissance Festival. Mr. Marlowe’s attachments to modernity create a decreasing stickiness to his own time – which is good since he’s got that pesky May 30th 1593 thing looming before him.

The underpinnings of the story and its origin legend separate this text from its “competitors” in both the time travel and supernatural (fae) genres. It’s a fun read with endearingly relatable characters. Definitely an author I’ll add to my “yup” stack.

Historical Geek Note: this is NOT a distraction from the book; but in addition to the intentional canonical departures, there’s a significant historical issue with a time-travel book with British settings prior to 1751 and modern-day US settings. Poetic license being as it is, however, we can probably assume that our 16th century literary protagonist and our modern day damsel found a work-around for the wonkiness of the Julian calendar prior to 1752

This was an enjoyable and engaging second chance at love story, which had me happily turning the pages. All Ava Vaughan wants from her husband is a divorce, and as they have been separated from each other for the last six months, she’s surprised when he says no. Cole Jacobs has spent the last six months hoping that his wife, Ava will return to him. Cole had no intention of loosing his wife and intends to stay married to her, so when she demands a divorce, he proposes a deal instead. Cole asks Ava to use her skills as an event planner to help him organise an important fundraiser, and then he will agree to a divorce. However, Cole intends to work closely with Ava on the fundraiser and as the couple work together their buried feelings resurface. Both Cole and Ava have to face the reasons why their marriage fell apart and decide if it can be rescued. This was a heartwarming story with wonderful characters, in a lovely setting. Ava and Cole were particularly easy to feel engaged with and I was hoping they would get their HEA.

Rock Bottom (Satan’s Devils MC Book #7) Audiobook by Manda Mellett – Review by Lorralei Hoerner

This author is truly one of my favorites and this story of Rock and Becca was…. Wow… Fantastic!

Part of the Satans Devils MC… Rock has a secret… a gambling problem… and did not think anyone would find out until it comes out in the open in front of the entire club. Instead of facing a punishment… he leaves the MC compound and finds, what he thinks is solice with a new MC. When Rock comes into Becca’s life under just horrid conditions…Rock becomes her savior.

Is there more than meets the eye? This story has so many twists and turns…. Highs and lows… but this was one of my favorite stories in this series… twists I didn’t see coming a mile away which made me love this story even more. The author really packs a punch in many ways with Rock and Becca’s story. Both Rock and Becca’s characters tore at my heartstrings in so many ways….. I want to say so much but I do not want to give anything away…. Fantastic Fantastic Fantastic!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Lab Spill (The Cool Thing Series Book 2) by Robert Rife – Review by Francis O’Sullivan

LAB SPILL: A Dark Comedy. Maybe. (THE COOL THING SERIES)LAB SPILL: A Dark Comedy. Maybe. by Robert Rife
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Lab Spill is the second book in The Cool Thing Series. It’s definitely worth reading the books in order, starting with The Cool Thing. Things might or might not make more sense that way, but at least you’ll not be spoilering yourself for when you realise that you need to read more and The Cool Thing is right there.
If you enjoy dark humour and weird stuff, this is the book for you! Lab Spill brings us a world of failed experiments, many of whom are still alive and some even thriving in the supposedly secure world they’ve been locked away in. You’ve got everything from somewhat mutated humans to full on evil slime. It’s fabulous.
The characters in this are great. Messy, often selfish and mostly fairly unlucky. Plenty of favourites from The Cool Thing are back, and there are new characters to get to know as well!
Like the first book, definitely not for younger or sensitive readers. You might not want to read it whilst eating, although I managed that fine because I couldn’t put it down and didn’t want to risk starvation!
This book gets five stars from me! It’s original, imaginative and incredibly entertaining! If you loved the first book, The Cool Thing, Lab Spill will not disappoint! And if you haven’t read The Cool Thing yet, go read it now!

Mafia Elite Series Box Set Volume 2 by Amy McKinley – Review by Bethany Leigh Rucker

Mafia Elite Box Set: Volume TwoMafia Elite Box Set: Volume Two by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Savage Secrets (Book 4): When I first started reading this series, I couldn’t wait to hear Elena’s story. I knew from the beginning that it was going to be a good one. I have to say that it did not disappoint. Elana and Marco were childhood friends that cared about each other, but that turned to enemies when they were teenagers. Now circumstances have changed, and they end up in a marriage contract that is necessary to prefect Elena’s life. The question becomes will their secrets tear them apart, or will they trust each other enough, so that they both can survive.

Ruthless Heir (Book 5): Summer is on the run from the mafia after her best friend was murdered. Luc has worked hard for everything that he has required in his life and businesses, but when Luc buys the company that Summer is working at, he ends up thinking that she is a mole. He can see that she is hiding something from him. When Luc finds out that he is the heir of one of the top mafia families, will it ruin everything he worked so hard for? How will Summer react, and will she be able to trust him to keep her safe?

Collateral Damage (Book 6): I have been following this series since the beginning, and while I am dreading that we are running out of mafia men. I know it will be coming to an end soon, and this saddens me! While I have my “favorite” characters there has not been one bad book in this series, I have loved every single one of them. This book follows the story of Trey La Rosa and Hailey Carmichael. I have wanted to read Trey’s story from the beginning, and I was not disappointed. Hailey comes from an affluent family and feels used by most people because of it. She has also had a hard time after losing her father and sister in a car accident years earlier. Trey is an amazing surgeon who tries to maintain the mafia life and gets experience working in surgery so that he is ready if his family ever needs him. You won’t want to miss this book, especially if you have been following this series.

Rivals (Book 7): Nicco and Mia are both a part of the Italian American Mafia in the United States. Nicco is an underboss in Chicago, and Mia’s family is from New York. Mia has learned about Nicco’s and his family’s lives through her mafia studies in New York. When Mia’s mom dies, she realizes that she needs to protect herself, so she makes a plan. Her plan involves taking down her own family for their crimes, but can she get the help and protection she needs from Nicco and his family?

My Bronc Riding Cowgirl (My Cowboy Series Book 6) by Brooke May – Review by Karyn Taylor

My Bronc Riding CowgirlMy Bronc Riding Cowgirl by Brooke May
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is a great contemporary romance from an author who writes great contemporary romance novels. I have read quite a few of this author’s book now and I have always really enjoyed them and this book was no different.
This is an enemies to lovers book set in the rodeo world in the USA. Our main characters are Tori and Cord, both of whom are the children of famous bronc rider friends. Entering their rookie season, things get a bit hot under the collar as they try to concentrate on the job at hand but can’t help but be distracted by one another.
I really enjoyed Tori and Cord’s story. I love how feisty Tori is and how she isn’t scared to enter a very male dominated world. Cord comes over as a bit cocky and arrogant but it’s all a front as he’s a sweet decent guy at heart.
The author does a great job of keeping the story flowing and keeping you engrossed in the story and want to keep turning the pages to see how Tori and Cord’s story ends.
Definitely recommend.

I have read a few books from this author and I absolutely love her writing style. She captures you in the story right from the beginning. This is the second book to the very addictive series called the grave diggers academy. You should read the first book because it begins when the first book ends. I was so excited when I got this book I stopped everything and started reading it immediately. I wish that one day this would be a tv show. I can’t wait to read the next book.

MaKayla is ready for her second year of grave diggers academy. She is so excited to see what this year will bring. Makayla is called into the headmistress’ office to talk and she is told that she has to help the school out. Makayla and her friends are having to compete in the intra academy face off. They are going to have to compete with the other schools and if they lose her school will be closed down for good. Will Makayla and her friends have the power to beat the other schools or will it be the end to the grave diggers academy?

Mafia Elite Box Set: Volume Two collects books four to seven of this fantastic series! I would recommend reading the series in order, so if you haven’t already read the first three you’ll want to start with the Volume One box set!
These are fantastic books – I gave them each five stars when I read them separately and it’s so handy to have them together in one volume! Whenever I got to the end of one book I couldn’t wait to start on the next one – with this collection you can simply turn the page and keep going!
In Savage Secrets we finally catch up with Elena, who most characters have believed to be dead. There’s some mysteries to solve about her birth mother, as well as the usual action and romance! Ruthless Heir brings Luc, who was previously unaware of the Chicago Mafia’s existence, into the picture to fill his rightful place. And he drags Summer into it, who knows plenty about the Mafia and has good reason for wanting nothing to do with them. Next is Collateral Damage, which gave me the Trey-focused story I’d been impatiently waiting for! It was great to see the mafia surgeon finally in the limelight. Rounding off this collection is Rivals, where New York Mafia princess Mia turns to Nico for protection. This of course ramps up tension between the families, and I really enjoy the warmth as Mia discovers that not all families are like hers.
This box set gets five stars from me (or twenty, if you add up each book!). I’d recommend the series to fans of action and romance with interesting, complex characters. And you should definitely start with Volume One before getting into this second collection!
