This is the final books in the Mafia Elite Series. It is the conclusion of everything the author has been building up for. With all of these books you get amazing characters and scenes with so many details that you feel like you are living the situations with the characters. These books make you not want to do anything else but read them. You will get swept away with the mystery, adventure, and steamy love that happens with the characters. I highly recommend that you read Volume 1 first, so you have an understanding of the characters that you will be meeting in these books. You will want to know the background of the people you are going to fall in love with. The strong female leads in these books will satisfy your inner feminist and the broody hot alpha males will appeal to your inner hopeless romanticism. It is literally the best of both worlds. You will be sitting on the edge of your seat and feeling all the emotions that these charters will go through. You will need tissues for the tears, need to scream with the anger, need to gasp with the revelations, and most importantly you will feel included. It is easy to feel like these characters are your friends and honestly I came away from reading this series feeling like I was part of the mafia. That is how you know these are amazing books. This is a definite must read of the year!!!

This is book 2 in The View Trilogy series. I do highly recommend reading these books in order so you have a full understanding of the story and what had happened to get to this point.
We are back with Thomas and April as they go back on an adventure to discover the world they found in the last book. This time they feel prepared and think they know what to expect. But things aren’t what they seem and they find themselves in situations neither expected.
The author does an amazing job with the character and creating the worlds. The science behind the world’s and the details really make you feel like this fantasy place could really exist.
I can’t wait to see what happens next with these two and what other things they will discover.

The Mafia Elite series is one that cannot be out down. Volume two continues an absolutely amazing series. Each book continues to build on itself but can be read alone, but you won’t want to. The romance, action, and excitement can’t be beat. You’ll want to keep reading more and more. Highly recommend!
Savage Secrets The fourth installment doesn’t disappoint with the introduction of Elena and Marco. We instantly fall in love with these two new characters. Even as they fight their chemistry, you can feel it in their body language. This installment brings a new mix of twists and turns that keeps you wondering what is next.
Ruthless Heir Another fantastic installment in the series. I loved the outside looking in feel of this book and the introduction of two new characters. Luc and Summer, a classic enemy turned to love story. These two fit perfectly with the current mafia bosses and wives. Once again, you can feel the love and pain that each of these characters feel. I connected to Luc and Summer more than the previous characters as they were not born into the Mafia. I really enjoyed this book in the series and am intrigued to find out what comes next.
Collateral Damage Book six in the series did not disappoint. This was another action packed read that kept you on yours toes. A fast read makes it easy to read in one day, which is good because you will not to put it down. This book we meet Trey, sibling number three of the De Larosa family and the family doctor. He is hired by Allen, who is the director of the hospital, to find his abducted step-daughter Hailey. Instantly, you can tell this is a lost connection between Trey and Hailey and leads you to wanting more. However, life in the Mafia does not make it easy for them. Twists and turns keep you wanting more. Great characters who bring just another great element to the Mafia families. Big tip, due yourself a favor and read the first five books in the series, although the book is fine as a stand alone, many things make more sense when the other books have been read.
Rivals What can I say about this book other than I’m sad the series is coming to a end but with a great final book. Nico thinks he is getting away where no one can find him, Mia has other plans. It is time to merge the Chicago and New York mafia families. The final book brings everything full cicle as Nico, the final brother finds love in unexpected places. Mia learns what family is really like and that there those that she can trust. I love that this book brought the right amount of needed vindication and love. Another book in the series that will keep you guessing and wondering what will come next. Wonderful end to the series.

Grave Digger Academy I By: C.A. King Review by: Susan Ratchford 5 Stars
Join Makayla and friends as they learn the magic to keep the dead in their graves and about the importance of Grave Digger Academy itself! I have been wanting to start this series Ever since I first saw it and man I was not disappointed! Now I can’t wait to start the next book! I was hooked and completely drawn into Makayla’s world of ghouls and the undead! Grave Digger Academy is a super fun read that feels almost nostalgic! It’s so easy to be swept away by King’s writing style and dialogue as well as the relatable emotions of the characters. From the pressure put on Makayla to live up to her siblings to the loyalty of her new found friends like Leo. The magic and story line was perfectly eerie and dark, great for an October read! C.A. King weaves a creepy tale with tons of action, mystery, suspense, and humor that people of all ages are sure to love! I highly recommend this book!

This is book 4 in the Mafia Elite series and they just keep getting better and better. I have loved all these stories for the romance, danger and action that is packed into them. The characters are so well written that they are a joy to read about. Even though the Mafia bosses are tough hard men we see the softer side to them when they are with the person they love. This is Marco and Elena.
Marco is the boss of La Rosa family. For years he thinks the love of his life has died but now he knows that’s not true and he will stop at nothing to make her his. However there is a threat from the Russians that want her dead but no one can understand why?
Elena has gone into hiding from the Russians. They murdered her mum and for some reason they won’t stop until she is also taken care of. With this threat now finding her she has to return to the protection of the Mafia family. She has always loved Marco but his attitude towards her has always been hostile so why is he going out of his way to help her now?
This story has so many twists that you are gripped from beginning to end. There are so many secrets that are revealed which shocked me and kept me reading. Can Marco protect his love from harm? Will the secrets of Elena’s past come between them and when the secrets are revealed what will that mean between the La Rosa family and the Russians?
RUTHLESS HEIR
This is book 5 in the Mafia Elite series. I have lived all these books. Each one is unique however I do recommend reading them from the start so you know how the families work and who is part of what family. The stories are full of danger as well as the romance. The men are hard and dark which only increases their appeal.
In this book we meet Summer. Summer is on the run after her friend tried Cross a member of the New York Mafia. She escapes to Chicago where she has a one night stand with the person who turns out to be her new boss. Now she is forced to accompany him as his assistant when she is accused of stealing his money but things aren’t what they seem and the secret that Summer is trying to protect as well as her safety could now be in danger. Luc is the heir of the Chicago Mafia although he isn’t aware of this fact until Max turns up and explains things to him. Luc can’t help the attraction he feels towards Summer. However he knows she is hiding something and what that is he plans to find out. As things start to work through Luc realises just how much danger Summer is in. Will he stand up and protect her? Or will he deliver her back to the New York Mafia to avoid more conflict between the Mafia families?
COLLATERAL DAMAGE
This is book six in the Mafia Elite series and it is every bit as good as the rest in the series. This story is a very sweet second chance romance but where the Mafia is concerned nothing is sweet and innocent for long. The reader is sent on a journey with twists that you don’t see coming which keeps the reader guessing from start to finish.
This story is about Trey and Hailey.
Trey is part of the Mafia family but also an amazing surgeon. After losing the love of his life he threw himself into his work and became a shadow of himself. He resigned himself to never feeling alive again. Until Hailey came into his life. After meeting Hailey at a party for the hospital the attraction was instant and he started to feel alive again. However it was too soon and the loss of his love made him move away from what could have been happiness.
Fast forward and when Hailey is kidnapped her step father asked Trey for help finding her. When they meet again the spark is still there and as they work towards figuring out who was behind her kidnapping and why the connection gets stronger.
Will this couple be able to work all the dark plots and obstacles against them? Will Trey be able to allow himself to love again? And what would he risk so that this time he doesn’t lose his love again?
RIVALS This the 7th book in the Mafia Elite series and omg I absolutely love this series. The stories are full of danger, twists and turns, loyalty and a really good steamy romance. These stories for me really captivate me and this book was just the same.
In this story we follow Mia and Nico. Both of them are part of different Mafia families.
Nico is considered quiet but is a very smart calculating underboss. He’s looking for a way to bring down the other Mafia boss. His research keeps bringing up one name. That of the bosses daughter Mia. He know she could be the key to finding a way to destroy the other boss but how will he get her to talk?
Imagine his surprise when Mia turns up to see him with a proposition. One that will get Nico everything he wants but will also change his life forever.
Mia is a confident, strong, fiesty women. For years she has been kept locked up by her father. But she holds a secret. She is the rat in her father’s family and she is determined to bring him down. The only way she can do that and protect herself is to team up with another Mafia family. So she approaches Nico asking for marriage so that she is protected from her own family.
Will Nico accept her conditions? Will they successful bring down Mia’s father and his illegal actions? And what happens when a proposition of convenience turns into something more real and intense?

River Witch by Cheryl Burman is a beautifully written story of a girl named Hester Williams, who at a very young age, is drawn into the waters by the song of the river and the playful river nymphs. It is there that she meets Aaron, a quiet young man skilled in herbal lore, who stops her from wading into the river to play with the nymphs. The story continues to follow Hester as she matures into a young woman that aspires to be a wisewoman, curing others of ailments with the healing properties of herbs and flowers with the knowledge Aaron has bestowed her. After she goes against the wishes and attempts of her mother to tame her by refusing to marry local fisherman Jem Stokes, Hester finds herself with limited places to turn to and a trail of tribulations ahead and left in her wake.
This was an absolutely magnificent read that I struggled to put down. I was captivated by the author’s beautiful and articulate writing, which fabricated this captivating tale. The characters were unique and fascinating, and they all came together perfectly to weave this story into something truly remarkable in my opinion. Everything was so well descripted that it was so easy to feel like I was in the story with them, witnessing everything unfold. I was honestly sad the story ended because I loved the main characters so much! While I might be crossing my fingers for another book in the future featuring all of them again, the closing of the story was perfect. I truly did not expect to love this book as much as I did. It has the perfect mix of a little bit of everything. If you ask me, it deserves all the stars!
This book was a definite page turner and I’m so glad I continued on after book 1! Sometimes a realistic drama is exactly what I need to take my mind off the cares of life! This book is full of intense nuggets including race issues, suicide, friendship struggles and the dreaded sexual mistakes we all seem to make and so so much more! I love the main characters and I’m looking forward to finding a bit more about their escapades in book 3. I was left in a bit of a confused state reading book 2, but that’s why there’s a Trilogy!

Reading this book, it is very obvious that the author knows what they are doing with words. The imagery and detail in this book are wonderful. I found myself falling straight into Hester’s life and wanting to know more and more about Aaron and how their interactions unfold. It is not hard to picture this story in my mind at all. I love the ideas in this book, and can relate to Hester’s quest to find herself and do what she wants rather than what everyone else thinks she should do. This book has a great storyline, characters, and talented author. I will definitely be looking into more of their work. I very much recommend this book.

Is this the end of the series? I sure hope not! Beck has finally been licensed as a PI and has gotten her first big case. Her roommate from Freshman year of college called her to investigate the untimely death of her father. He was set to meet his lawyer to make up a new will but was found dead of an apparent suicide. With some many people standing to inherit millions who is to blame? Was it Jacqueline or her twin? Maybe their younger brother? Was it the wife who was about to cut off or maybe her son? With so many people to look into Beck definitely has a lot of work ahead of her. Add to that a budding romance with Devon. Are they dating informally? Will they become exclusive? If you liked the other books in this series you will definitely like this one as well.

I have always loved romances that are based on a second chance, but this one really blew me away. I was intrigued and invested in the characters, and constantly longed for more! Amazing book!
I loved how this story of a second chance was not just butterflies and lollipops. It went deep, as well as dark in certain moments. The characters were torn apart from someone in their circle more less. And the truth came to light with other secrets. And made Evelyn and Damian re-consider their past and their possible future. I loved how the Mafia with Damian came to play. Definitely added to the tension and suspense of the story, The book was full of steam, romance, as well as moments you did not want to put the book down. The writing was sensational. Hard to let go of. I was very invested in these characters. There was very strong character development through the course of the story. Absolutely loved this book!
This is a book that is very much worth a read for many reasons. Plus the way the writing goes, keeps you invested and wanting to keep reading! Highly recommend this must read book!

I love this author and this series! Each book has its own story, but each story connects to another Honestly this series has gripped me since the first book. This is the second volume set, and it certainly does not disappoint at all!
Each book you get romance, danger, and really great characters that have a strong establishment as a character, but grow even more as you read. I am gripped and held with each book. I find each one has a good backstory to the main characters that take the surface in that specific book in the series. The books and characters are written with strong intelligence, and great as well as exceptional, realism!
The box set is a must read as well as the author. I cannot recommend this series enough. It is a sensational read, and the author has a writing style like no other! You will enjoy it and not want to put it down!

This book is yet another great addition to this series. This book ratchets up the intensity and pressure on our core group of characters. The Italian Mafia bosses and their spouses bring Elena Caruso back into the fold after a four year absence, which was done to protect her from the Russian Mafia. Mafia boss Marco La Rosa has loved Elena for years, but always kept his distance due to an arranged marriage that is no longer in play. Elena is a cousin to Max and Tony Caruso, but was raised as Tony’s adopted sister until the summer she disappeared and was presumed to be dead. The surprise twists and turns in this book will keep you guessing (though, perhaps you’ll solve it early, but doubt yourself until the reveal like I did) until the end. The best rule of thumb in this series, and especially this book, is not everything is what it seems to be. This book can be read as a standalone, but is so much better as a part of the series it belongs in.
Ruthless Heir
Luc is a business man used to getting his way, until he takes over a company and suddenly his money disappears. He quickly learns the mafia did it to get his attention, but not before he accuses the companies temporary secretary, Summer, who he slept with the night before he takes over the company. He soon discovers his mom, who abandoned him as a child, was a mafia princess from the Chicago Five Families, and that he is now the next in line to head the family. This is another amazing book by Amy McKinley that can be read as a standalone, but is so much better as a part of the series that it is a part of. This is the fifth book of seven, and I cannot wait to read the rest of them.
Collateral Damage
Yet another amazing entry into this series. I can’t believe that the next book is supposed to be the end. This book is great, and can be read as a standalone, but trust me, you won’t want to stop here. I can’t wait for Rivals to release later this year, as I never want to leave the world of these characters. I feel like they are family!
This book is about Trey, the doctor/surgeon to the Five Families of Mafia in the Chicago area. He is unexpectedly reunited with Hailey after he is brought in by her stepfather to investigate and hopefully solve her kidnapping. When the pair first met, Trey wasn’t in a good place mentally, and was definitely not in a place to want any part of a relationship with someone outside of “his world” of mafia families. Through trying to figure out Hailey’s kidnapping and what led to it, the couple gets closer and Trey realizes he can’t be without Hailey. My only advice is this: always remember, people aren’t always what they seem.
And if the passing references to Tony are a question by the author about rather readers of the series want to see more about him and see him get his happily ever after, let this review serve as a resounding YES! I never want to see this series end! Rival
The final book in this series is just as great of a book as all the others. Amy McKinley is most assuredly becoming one of my favorite authors.
In this entry to the series, we follow Nico La Rosa as he finally finds his happily ever after, even if it’s not quite how he expected it. Nico is on a trip to his family’s home in the Caribbean, when Mia Tucci finds him unexpectedly…or rather, he finds her standing on the deck of his house pointing a gun at him as he returns from the beach. Mia proposes the idea of marriage for information on how to bring down a human trafficking ring that her father and “adopted” brother are running as part of their New York mafia family business. Nico agrees, but isn’t quick to trust Mia at first. Eventually, the two share more than just their own secrets, and work together with the Five Families to bring down Mia’s father’s trafficking business. Through everything, Nico finally finds his happily ever after, and Mia finally finds a loving family that will take care of her and protect her at all cost.

Evelyn lost the one guy that she’s ever felt a strong pull toward, when the guy she was tutoring in her senior year of high school just disappears without warning and without any further contact. Damian was a teenager who was at the mercy of the adults in his life in high school, so when his parents tell him they are moving; he has no choice but to move. He chooses not to try to communicate with Evelyn even after she continues to try to reach him, because he is told that she doesn’t want anything to do with him, by her father, who does whatever is necessary to ensure that Damian is as far away from his daughter as possible. When Damian suddenly reappears in her life, Evelyn is initially angry about his departure all over again, but eventually learns the truth. Damian tries to keep Evelyn at arm’s length because his career as an undercover FBI agent in the Italian mob makes his life far too dangerous for her and he wants to protect her even though he can’t tell her the truth about his life. Overall, this was a good book. I did feel that most of the intimate scenes were over the top in the graphic department, but I understand that some people won’t necessarily agree.

I absolutely love this series and I find it difficult to choose a favorite. Each series follows the path of two main characters/love interests. The author is brilliant at introducing sub-characters and later developing their main storyline throughout the series. Even after we are given each characters main plot, later books still give us more to their storylines and furthers the couplings character development. This is incredibly helpful if one couple is a favorite and you just want to know more. I also enjoy reading how the Five Families work and how each member has a specific role and function they bring to the groups dynamics. The strong family unit in a world of violence is a great addition and makes me adore all the characters even more. This is a great series by an even greater author that I will always recommend.

Evelyn and Damian are two young lovers broken up by a father that thinks he can control everything by money. Fast-forward years later, Damian works undercover law enforcement in the mob. Assigned back to Dallas, Evelyn sees him running down her street. Paths cross and the dramatic adventure begins. This story is full of romance, steam, suspense, drama, and adventure. The storyline meshes together nicely. There are two storylines and they intertwine to flow smooth. A fast-paced read that you may enjoy.

Wow! This is quite the thriller. Dex just wants to change his life for the better but ends up having a horrible ride that puts his whole family at risk. This book is scary, original, entertaining and very engaging. The author includes his thoughts in between each chapter. This was new to me. I understand that this book started out on Vella and that is why the format. I came to like it because you got a glimpse into the process of how the story came about which added another level to it. A definite thriller that creeps you eye. Those silver eyes gave me goosebumps. The characters, right down to the minute details, are so spot on and relatable that you can feel a piece of yourself in them. The plot flows fairly smooth. I recommend this for all those thrill seekers out there. Don’t forget to check over yoru shoulder.
This book is book 6 in the series but can be read as a standalone. This was a quick an easy read. Cord an Tori are funny, dramatic an I loved the tension an playfulness between them. I loved how Tori was determined an independent, very inspiring!
I cannot begin to put into words how much I love this authors work! I have read all of these books by this author, and I have read them over and over again as they are quickly becoming my all-time favorite mafia romance series. The best thing about this series is that each book not only talks about one couple, but throughout the entire series the story line flows, and they go together. I have told all of my friends about this great series and love that they are offered in a box set because you get to keep reading and finding out what happens! I cannot wait to read more by this author and cannot wait to continue reading these books over and over again as they are so wonderfully written that I find myself immersed in the story with them, when in reality I am curled up in my favorite spot on the couch under numerous blankets reading these books.

I’m a bit of a sucker for a rockstar romance so when I came across this story I thought I’d give it a go, although it is the fourth book in the series I happily read it as a standalone. Jared was probably the kind of rockstar that I love to read about – you know the type you can’t help but love to hate! You know you really shouldn’t like him but there’s just something in there that’s waiting to come to the surface that’s going to make you love him. Ella was a sweet character and I really liked her. There was so much angst and tension going on in between these two characters, they definitely had that love/hate thing going on. I will definitely be reading the other books in this series and this book has been a great introduction to a new author also!

This was a brilliant read. I’ve read books by this author previously but I think this is definitely my favourite so far. I was completely gripped and couldn’t turn the pages fast enough. I loved that I felt like I was right in the middle of this crime thriller trying to work out what had happened and who had done what. The author did an amazing job at keeping the suspense going the whole way through the story. This is the second book in the series and I read it easily as a standalone however with how excellent it was and I’m definitely going to grab the first and I’m looking forward to the next book!

Bycatch is an incredible and original story of Rex and his Vietnam experience. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. It’s a book that I struggled to put down and the imagery is fantastic in this book. I feel as if I learned a lot more about how life was during these times. Not only was the story original but they’re are a number of suspenseful moments that lead to a captivating story. I’m looking forward to reading many more historical type books from this author.

This is the second book in the Grave Digger Academy series by C.A. King. Makayla and her friends are back at the academy. She’s hoping this year things will be a bit more normal, but it sure doesn’t start off that way! A portal that shouldn’t work, an inter-academy competition, and more stones being revealed…not a simple year once again. I love her character and I’m glad that more questions are being answered from book 1. I would definitely read the first book before getting in to this one. I’m hooked and excited for book 3!

The Virus of Beauty is the first book in The Virus of Beauty series by C.B. Lyall. This is a wonderful YA fantasy that has such a unique, original, and very imaginative storyline. This is the first time for me reading one of Ms. Lyall’s stories, but after finishing it I can honestly say that it won’t be the last, as I can’t wait to see where we go from here. This has a bit of an action-adventure feel, with magic, witches, wizards, a horrible virus, magical realms, romance, danger, dramatic developments, mystery, a touch of destiny, suspense, conflict, politics, and fantastic world-building. We meet Wilf, who is a wizard who prefers soccer than have anything to do with magic. But as a potent virus start affecting the witch population- hitting close to home when his friend falls victim to it too. He has inherited a journal from he father that holds the key to the cure, so Wilf will need to put aside his fears and find a way to unlock the spell and save his friend before it’s too late. A fantastic start to the series. This ends on a bit of a cliffhanger, so things are set to continue in Book #2, The Veil of Corruption. Bring it on! Happy Reading!

Queen’s Destiny is the first book in the Blood Prophecy series by Barb Jones. This is my first foray into any of Ms. Jones work, so I really had no idea of what to expect going into the book. But the title, and blurb caught my attention- so I decided to take a chance and dive in. What I discovered is an original paranormal romance with vampires, werewolves, witches, prophecy, adventure, the supernatural, suspense, mystery, intrigue, action, conflict, agendas, tension, and drama- all wrapped around a battle for survival, and the powerful bloodline that brought about the whole prophecy in the first place. Amber Stone is about to have her world turned upside down- in a supernatural way. Little does she know that she has a part to play in an ancient prophecy and a battle for survival that has spanned the centuries. I really wanted to love this story far more than I did. I had a lot of trouble connecting with the characters- and therefore was left disappointed that I couldn’t invest in them and the outcome of their story the way I had hoped. There is a lot going on in the story, and it does get quite wordy at times, with a lot of information being laid out (info dumps), as well as there being a lot of characters to keep track of. I think all this caused the story to drag and lag in parts, and gave the whole thing a bit of a choppy, chewy, story… It is such an original concept that had the potential to be quite a stellar read as it holds a lot of promise, and I feel bad that it just didn’t quite work for me- but maybe it will for you. Happy Reading…

Well hello Mr. Sexy!!! The Hunter is the second captivating book in The Freemasons series by Nicole Flockton. It is a wonderful enemies to lovers contemporary romance- with mystery, intensity, chemistry, danger, banter, secrets, tension, and finding love unexpectedly. Book Two in the series definitely doesn’t let the team down! Giving Alpha Male hotness with a strong female lead to keep him on his toes. Gemma’s father died under suspicious circumstances, and her journalistic instincts can smell a story a mile off. She is determined to get to the bottom of her father’s mysterious death- and that leads her right to the Freemasons. Dominic is on a mission to keep the nosy reporter from uncovering any of the organisation’s secrets. That means keeping her close. Add some steamy chemistry, a whole lot of secrets, and perilous danger- and we get a story that won’t let you put it down. Meaning I devoured the book in one sitting! On to Book #3… Happy Reading!

This author did wonders with this story! I have enjoyed each book in this series. Book 5 kicked my motherly instincts into overdrive, and I felt /related to that urgency and drive to protect your children and those you love. This new world was preceded by one where you literally had to pick and choose life or death and as book 5 ends the series you see all the strides made in love, friendship, maturity and so on. Great read.

The Victor is the first book in The Freemasons series by Nicole Flockton. It is a moving second chance contemporary romance with a forced proximity element, past history, heartache, buried feelings, a marriage on the rocks, angst, push-pull, angst, miscommunication, separation, secrets, and how true love really can overcome anything. This is a wonderful start to what looks to be a superb series. I can’t wait to jump into the second book asap, and the best news is the whole series is available to read NOW- happy dance. No waiting…. WOOT!!! It appears that each book in the series will focus on a different couple, but with a recurring cast. Meaning four books, from what I can tell…. And did I mention our four leading men are Freemasons- which adds an extra layer of intrigue and mystique to the whole shebang. Cole and Ava have been separated for the past 6 month. She wants a divorce, but he intends to win her back. Will he succeed, or is this really the end? Will Cole be willing to do what it takes to prove his love and commitment to Ava? And most importantly, will Ava even consider giving him a chance to try to rekindle their love- or is it all a case of ‘too little-too late? The story is definitely worth the read to find out. But prepare for your emotions to be released. Happy Reading!

An Inheritance to Die For is the fourth stand-alone book of the Cozy Mystery series by Judy Moore. As a person who hasn’t had the chance to read the previous books in the series (yet!), Ms. Moore has done a truly excellent job of creating a stand-alone installment. This fast-paced read follows Beck as she heads to Miami to investigate the death of her former roommates father. The characters are intriguing and introduced in such a way that readers can develop their own theories as we follow Beck through the quagmire of clues. This is a perfect read if you enjoy a nice mystery.
