This is the second story in the Notebook mysteries and was such a great continuance of Emma’s story. She travels to NYC in this book, helps women get jobs outside of the home (that was largely frowned upon in the time period this series is based in), and solved several cases. She even flipped the script on a kid and set him off to the right path!
The boom brought the ending of a relationship for Emma but started a new one. Added a baby that was named after Dora and Emma’s late mother into the family.
My favorite parts were the setups they did to catch people! Not just Emma either! Even finding out she was working with someone involved with the case she was trying to solve! I knew when she started getting more responsibilities that something was in the works there.
Helping a women’s shelter, which broke my heart that someone would lie and risk the lives of other women like that!
I’m excited to see what Emma does with her reward monies and where the story takes her next!

My heart hurt for Emma learning exactly how and why her mom died. You can tell this family is tight knit and that they’d do anything for each other. I love the happy ending to her last case she was involved in. With Emma and Dora both finding closeness again with that case bringing them together. Even Tim and Tony being such a huge part of their lives and becoming family in the process.
Finding the newspaper articles from her mom, I knew something fishy was going on when the writer pushed her out of his office without giving her anything.
I was relieved when the “watcher ” was revealed and it was someone who was protecting her from the same people that hurt her mom. She is very aware of everything and I loved how she made and left baskets of food for her “watcher”. Like he thought he was all sneaky and not being seen.
Since I did read these out of order I am glad this book gave some back story that I was missing out on from reading a later book first.
This is such a great series to read to suck you into the mysteries of Emma’s life. I also loved on this one how the “narrator and Dear One” chime in with some input to give more back story when needed.

This is the first book I’ve read by the author. I usually don’t read poetry, but this book caught my eye. Euphoric Wonderland is exactly what it means.
I couldn’t choose any quotes for this as it’s a book of poems. I will say that the quote at the beginning of the book fits. And it’s from my favorite person. I thank the author for this lovely book!

This is the first book I’ve read by the author. It won’t be my last. The book had me hooked from the beginning. I didn’t want it to end and I will be looking forward to the next book. Jake is the first book in the Billionaire Blind Dates Series.
Jake is a billionaire and is proud of it. What he’s not proud of is the women thinking they can demand an engagement shortly after they start dating. His friends want him to go on a blind date. How will he feel once he finds he’s dating his friend Cade’s assistant. The quote I chose for Jake is: “What would happen the moment she sees my name? She’d look me up and we’d be right where I am now. No difference, just more hoops to jump through.”
Lauren doesn’t like billionaires and won’t date them. She’s also having problems with her roommate. When her friend Catherine offers, once again, for her to move in she takes it. It’s not long before Catherine talks her into going on a blind date. There she’ll meet Jake and fall for him. What happens when she finds that he’s a billionaire? The quote I chose for Lauren is:“I’m game. Let me grab some things for overnight then, so I can at least brush my teeth.”
Highly recommended for Contemporary Romance lovers.

This book was a must read in my books, I love how the story was told. We really got to see through the eyes of living in fame. The book was eye opening at moments, enjoyed the depth in which it went.
Personally I loved how Melodie was the one who told the story. You got to understand her, feel her emotions, when she was happy or when she felt pained and alone. To me that was deep and meaningful and I enjoyed that aspect. I loved how Music was Incorporated into the story as much as it was. Really well with the story and the characters. I enjoyed Will as a character as well. Him and Melanie were adorable. Things were not easy though, there was good as well as not so great moments. I loved how the story went the author certainly has a way with their writing! I was very much intrigued all the way through. I very much cannot wait to read book 2, with the cliff hanger that happened! I very much loved this book and its contents.
Great read. Deep and full of intrigue, and its own brand of cuteness with the characters. Eye opening. Must read the author as well for sure. Must read book. Highly recommend this author and book without a doubt!

This was definitely a story of redemption. Rock is trying to find his place in the world now that everything has happened. Becca is just trying to survive. The narrators did an amazing job bringing this story to life. I’m definitely going to read the rest of the books in this series.

I really enjoyed this story. I like the fact that the story is told from the point of view of El (Melodie) and Wil. It really helps the story have more depth and it wasn’t done in a way that made the story confusing to read. The main aspect of this book is music and the passion surrounding it. There are a lot of secrets and lies to uncover and unravel as the story progresses and when each is revealed it brings more insight into our characters.
El is the step daughter of a famous rockstar. Her dream is to make it in the music business off her own talent. El loves music and really wants to make it her life but with her over protective mother and step- father everytime she tries they always seem to destroy her dream. Wil moves to Amercia to find his dad. He knows he is a famous rockstar. So he moves to America under the disguse of being part of a show but with hopes of finding his dad.
When Wil and El meet in a bar Wil steps in to help her after she is let down. After singing together they start to get closer and their chemistry is intense. But there are secrets that will be revealed which will cause heartbreak for one or both of them.
What is the secret which will change their lives? Will El ever get her music career off the ground or will her parents continue to stop her? Will Wil ever find his father and what will be the outcome if he does?
This books is a beautiful story to read. The romance is slow blooming and captivatingly written. I literally got lost in El and Wil’s story and didn’t want it to end.

Makayla applies to several schools and hopes to be picked for the school she really wanted to attend. Unfortunately, she gets accepted into Grave Digger Academy, the school where no one wants to attend.
She faces the school year not only with the disappointment of her family hanging over her but she must also face it by herself.
Not much excitement concerning the curriculum with it mostly consisting of spells needed to ensure that the dead stay dead. But Makayla soon finds out secrets involving her family.
The title of this caught my attention. It just seems different from other Young Adult novels. A school where students learn spells to guarantee that the decrease stays that way? I am a sucker for novels set in schools. It just gives me this gothic vibe.
I really like Makayla as a protagonist, especially her optimism. I look forward to reading how she grows as a character.
This is a short read but it definitely leaves me wanting to know more. I saw there were two other novels in this series so I am excited to start them.

I almost didn’t pick this one up to read but thought, why not? I’m so glad I took a chance on it!
It’s Makayla’s first year to attend academy and she spent some time choosing her top 3 picks, just like all witches get to do when they come of age. Her picks are in and she waits but hears nothing prior to the start of school. She wakes up late and misses her ride so she’s doomed to take the bus. No one but losers ride the bus the school! She arrives at the door to the academy but isn’t sure which specific realm she’s assigned to. She quickly learns that she has to learn everything for herself. She’s from a strong family of witches who’ve been accepted to the best and most prestigious schools so she has high hopes.
Makayla soon learns that she didn’t get any of her top 3 choices, so the only other option was an assignment to the Grave Digger Academy. NO ONE applied or wanted the Grave Digger Academy and just wait until her dad hears about this…..her life is over!! Things start to come to light and Makayla begins learning more about her family, along with the mysterious amulet her mother gave her shortly before boarding the bus. Will she survive her first year? Even better, what about summer vacation after her first year?
This was a super fun read. There are elements of comedy (I laughed many times!), romance (very subtle), and paranormal activity. It is a very well written story that kept my attention throughout. I look forward to reading more books in this series!

This book is the first book in the Philly Heat Series, but can be read as a stand alone. The book is about Kylee and Jayson and their journey together. It begins when they are in high school and picks up in present day. Kylee always had a crush on Jayson, but she thought he blew their bet off in high school. Years later she finds out the real truth on what really happened and why he never showed up. When things start going well between them now, Jayson leaves out of the blue, only to return years later to try to rekindle the relationship and explain why he left. When things start coming together again, they face another crises, this one together. I could not put this book down. It had romance, suspense and somewhat of a thriller all in one. It was a great read!

I was pleased that this novel was not overly mushy, and the relationship was so pure in more ways than one. We Blend is the first installment of the Falling for the Rockstar’s Daughter Series. After the cliffhanger at the end, I can’t wait for We Breathe to be released next year.

Secrets, music and a budding romance This was an engaging read and had me staying up way into the night as I could not put it down. The whole way along we are treated to an insight into El’s life as a child of a rockstar and Will’s complex life lined with secrets. I love the dual POV as it gives the story so much depth. The layering of the story is brilliantly executed and there is the right balance of tension and tender moments. Warning there is a cliffhanger at the end leaving the perfect opening to book 2.

There’s a reason people don’t believe in monsters and it’s not because they don’t exist!! Boy are you in for a treat with this set!! I am LOVING it!! I could totally see this set put into a movie!! And if it ever does, know I will be watching it asap!! Anyways, to the book!! This is Makayla’s second year in the paranormal academy system. THANKFULLY, she doesn’t have to ride the bus the first day and her brothers can drive her. After finding out last year that she wouldn’t be going to any other school, because she’s being watched, she must make the best of it. She doesn’t know what is in store for her that year until her and her class are called back early. Thinking that she will get some time in the local village she’s excited to get there. Boy is her first day, yet AGAIN, an adventure though!! Maybe she’s seeing things, but getting to the library is strange. With the one and only transfer position withheld last year, she has all the same classmates, so they meet up on the way. Maybe they won’t be separated this year. Maybe classes will go back to normal. Hopefully?? Upon arriving at the school they learn about some changes, good and bad. But at least they are letting her have a bit more freedom! Which is good because the school is participating in an academy competition with the other schools and she can use all the help she can! If they can win they can bring some desperately needed funding and prestige back to the once sought after school, but if they lose the school could close down forever! Then what would happen to her?! No one WANTS to go to Grave Digger Academy anymore. Most are thrown into it like Makayla, without any say in the matter. So if she is kicked out of the one place that took her she dreads what might come next!! But she is determined to save the school, learn as much magic as she can, and find out more about her family history and all the weird things that seem to be attracted to her! But something is off about the competition and the map. The map changes after the competition is already under way. There was to be no interference and no one is allowed on the map except the competitors and their helpers if they choose to bring them. Master Romano: Dark Vampire Romance is a vampire romance – the 4th book in the author’s series. Master Romano is a vampire who is the “leader” of vampires in the Romania area. He is said to be a “dark-souled beast”. He is under investigation by the head Master of Vampires because they have come to find out that a loyal confidant has gone rogue and they need to understand if Romano is behind it. Romano has stated that he is innocent in all of this, but will help find out what is going on because he is being set up. When arriving home, he encounters a witch named Raven, and witches and vampires have been long- time enemies. However, Raven (even though slightly scared due to the legends of the vampires) and Romano (even though states to not trust witches) feels something different, an energy, a connection that neither understands. However, not growing up in the witch world, Raven tends to be creative, defiant, and curiosity always gets the better of her. Their first meeting is very short since Raven transports herself out of danger, however they meet again at a local bar that both tend to be patroning. The “come get me eyes” are being projected by both of them, but are cut off when her aunt and sister enter the bar to take her back to their haven. In the midst of this event, other vampire and vampire confidants come in and grab the 3 witches. Romano has a bad feeling about this and ends up saving Raven even though it went against his better judgment. This encounter starts an alliance between the two and a budding romance. Can the two of them work together well enough, trust each other enough, to save her family and his reputation in the vampire world? I have read the entire series thus far and I love this vampire romance. Romano was a great character. Even though he is stated to be an evil beast, I found him to be burly, but with a sweet, loving, and understanding side to him, as well. He is portrayed as a leader, smart, cunning, protective, but also cautious, at the same time. Raven was also a great compliment to his burliness. She is spunky, smart, witty, playful, and comically could stand up to Romano. I loved their dynamic when it came to the romantic part of their relationship. I am not a “let it build up” type of book lover, so when they just let all their feelings out almost upfront at the beginning, I was there for that. This was a quick read, action filled, a twisty plot, with great characters. I am excited for the last book in the series to come out!

Read this with Miss 12 as it’s a lesson that she needs to learn too. She loved the illustrations and the style. It’s rare for her to read a book from start to finish but she really enjoyed this one.

Ella has been stuck on tour with Jared for months and it is becoming harder to avoid the grumpy drummer, it also does not help we have a history and he is a man whore but in just a couple of days I will be away in a cabin with no interruptions will be bliss.
After leaving the tour early she arrives in the beautiful cabin in the mountains alone and we the piece and quiet she wanted desperately awaiting the rest of the girls until the bliss is shattered and in walks the one person she is trying to get away from, the man who broke her heart Jared.
Jared is lost at the moment, with the tour being over he needs the downtime and were better to have it than his friends cabin in the mountains. Once he arrived he is greeted by the one person he is trying to escape from, the one woman who has bury in his soul and want let go.
Then the unthinkable happens, they are snowed in. As the realisation of the situation they try and draw a truce but will time alone together trigger the truth that they are truly meant to be together.
I love the Enemies to friends genre and this story is brilliant and well written. The story shows inside the minds of both characters who are a little jaded regarding each other and themselves but try to discover the true person. Although the character had me confused with his dramatic switches for most of the story but in the end I did get to love him more and more as his true character was revealed.
The character of Ella was a fitting opposite although I would have liked her a bit more sassy in the attitude she complimented Jared brilliantly. The story was engaging and held my interest through till the end and although this is the first book I have read within this series I found you could read this as a stand alone book, that said I will go back and read the others in this series as I would like to see how the other couples met.

Oh my gosh the second book was JUST AS GREAT as the first book! I cannot say enough great things about this author and her books and this one is vastly becoming my newest favorite books! In this series Makayla is back with her helpers and is trying to stay out of harm’s way as well as out of trouble. When she and her classmates sign up for the school games that is when everything goes haywire. My favorite character this book is Ollie by far. Every time it discussed him, it made me chuckle and laugh. Seriously this book was such a great fast read, and I was disappointed when it ended! I cannot wait for the 3rd and 4th books to come out as I NEED to know what is going to happen. This author is WONDERFUL and all of her books that I have read have been wonderful.

WOW WOW WOW This book was great! I could not put this book down as I was needing to know what was going to happen next. This is the first book that I have read by this author as well as the first in the series and it was such a great read. Reading these books out of order did not in any way disrupt the flow of these books, which is great as I will now buy the other books as well to read about the other characters! El & Wil make such a cute couple. She’s trying to live her dream. Her mom and stepfather, the rocker, are in the way. Wil meets her when he tries to get to know his stepfather, the rocker. I have to say that the adventure of avoiding The Rocker kept me chuckling. I loved the chemistry of El & Wil. The tone of the story is cute and entertaining. I found the characters quite a delight. They just want to get on with their life. When Wil takes her home to meet his mom is precious and the sweetest. I found this one of the most adorable romance novels and I really can’t wait for the next book in the series. The humor, drama, and romance all come together to create a book that everyone can enjoy.

This book is fantastic. I was hooked by the middle of the 2nd page. When Kylee handcuffed Jayson, I thought to myself, “Oh, this just got interesting.” It made me smile, it made me laugh, I might have even misted a little bit. Loved these characters.
Kylee has a distinct view of the world. Everything is either right or wrong. Justice must be served. Kylee proves this everyday as a police officer. Everything in her world worked great until she ran into the love of her life, the one that got away in high school. Then things exploded.

This was my first experience with this series but I am now a fan. The chemistry between Ella and Jared was super hot. Even when they were at each other’s throats, the electricity danced on the page.
Ella met the man of her dreams only for him to disappoint her one week later. When she walked away, Ella hoped to never see him again. Imagine her surprise when he turned up in her sister’s kitchen. Now she is on tour with her sister and her sister’s boyfriend’s band (guess who the drummer is?) having to watch the man she thought was special be your typical rockstar with a rotating bevy of groupies.
Jared can’t explain his attraction to Ella. Jared doesn’t want to. He just wants to be a rockstar. When Ella comes on tour with the band as the nanny, Jared plans to avoid and ignore. That doesn’t work. Just being around her sets him off in all the wrong ways. The only way he can escape her and his feelings is to avail himself of the opportunities presented.
When Ella plans a girls trip and heads to the cabin early to escape Jared, Ella gets an unexpected visitor. Seems like there was a giant miscommunication. This could be easily solved except for the six feet of snow that piled up overnight and that keeps coming down. Now Jared and Ella are stuck together until they can be dug out.
Fantastic story. Fun characters and love the relationship between Ella and her sister. Special shout out for the special care in discussing and addressing the mental health issues. Bonus points awarded!! Now, I have to go back and get to know the rest of the band!!

Defying Ella is the fourth book in the True Platinum series by Morgana Bevan. This is the first book that I have read by Ms. Bevan- and I have to say, what a great introduction it was. I didn’t realise when I snapped up a copy of this book, that it was the fourth book in the series. But it appears that each instalment in the series focuses on a different couple- so each book can be read as a standalone. But having said that, this story has left me with a taste for more of Ms. Bevan’s work- so I will definitely be one-clicking the rest of the series to explore. I can’t wait to discover more about the other characters and what has happened previously. Here we meet bad boy rocker Jared, whom I both wanted to throttle and lick, sometimes simultaneously. At first I wasn’t sure if I was going to like him- but he won me over. Ella, Ella, Ella- I wanted to hug her- and then shake her, hard, out of complete frustration. All the push-pull, hate-love-hate, angsty tension and drama played a fine tune with my all my emotions, that’s for sure. If you love your bad boy Rockstar romances, then you won’t want to miss getting your hands on a copy of this book and diving in asap. Happy Reading!

Hate You Later is the first book in the Lit Lovers series by Ciara Blume. It is a fun enemies to lovers contemporary romantic comedy with plenty of chemistry, sparks, banter, angst, touching moments, pet rescue, cats vs dogs, antics, and just enough drama to keep things interesting. This is my first read from Ms. Blume, and after reading this I can honestly say that it definitely won’t be the last. This was such a fun read; I can’t wait to explore more of Ms. Blume’s stories. If you love a fun read, that will make you laugh out loud at the antics- then you should snap up a copy for yourself and discover all the funny, fur-flying, sweet, and feel good moments for yourself. What happens when lines become blurred and lies feel like truths?
I enjoyed reading this book. The way Ella feels about trying to find her place and purpose, and Jareds anxiety and need to hide who he really is and how he really feels, felt real coming off the pages. These are situations and feelings that people have to deal with…and it was discussed openly and honestly. The storyline was good and kept me engaged from beginning to end.

I loved that at the beginning of the book, there was a summary of what has happened in the first three books of this series. This was very helpful for me since I started on this book, number four. Kara wants to be a warrior, not settled down in an arranged marriage. With this in mind, she runs away in order to fight in the battle. Does Kara have what it takes to become an amazing warrior and for those around her to see her more than just a girl? This was a fun, action packed, mystical book. The characters were easy to like and the story kept you reeled in.

A lovers to enemies to lovers classic! This was my first read by this author and it didn’t disappoint. As evidenced by my review, this can be read as a standalone, though it is part of a series; I certainly intend on going back and reading the ones I’ve missed now though. I read this in one sitting because I couldn’t put it down!
Ella and Jared’s story is a page-turner full of tension and vulnerability. Who wants to be snowed-in with their former lover and current enemy? Always on each other’s last nerve and full or spit and vinegar, Ella and Jared eventually let their guards down and open up to one another…but is it enough to last? Will they even survive the holiday snowed-in together?
I loved the unraveling of this story and the details provided by the author that helps build the characters up. Told from Ella’s perspective, we know her the best, but also get to see many sides of Jared. I really enjoyed the banter between the characters. The tension is palpable through the book story. I highly recommend this one!

A wonderful, heartwarming tale of a father and daughter who learn that with patience and perseverance, one can go a long long way. The story revolves around a little girl Moby , who is very sensitive and is intimidated by people’s opinions. Her father encourages her every step, but fate has different plans for him and he is called away for the duty in the marines. Moby is disheartened as her dad will not be back for her birthday. He gives her a bamboo flute as a birthday present before he leaves. . Moby struggles to to play the flute but to no avail. She is easily discouraged and speaks to her father who once again encourages her to play the flute. She perseveres and with practice and patience, she begins to see that she can indeed do wonders. This is a beautiful story with wonderful illustrations. I loved reading this book and would definitely give it to my boys to read.

This was a great 5 star read. I was pulled in right from the beginning. Lets just say that these two liked to challenge each other, especially with the tension and hot connection they obviously had. When a snow storm hits they have no choice but to wait it out, with each other. Will they finally work through their issues?
Overall I loved these characters and their story. We get some steamy scenes as well. The author does a great job with her writing. This can be read as a standalone even though it’s part of a great series. If you like Rockstar romance you will love this one. 1-click and get started today.

This was an interesting read! I liked that this was a different take on elementals than what I’ve read before in the past. It was fast paced, and full of sexual tension and sizzling energy throughout the whole book. Some of the scenes felt a little rushed but overall it was a good read. This is the first book in the Elemental Warriors series and I’m intrigued to see where the rest of the books go.
