Kayden and Liam made me fall in love! It was a beautiful second chance romance. It rang out true that real/true love conquerors all and for these 2 it did. They had to work through many issues and Liam had to prove that he was a new man, but they were able to overcome it all. Its truly a great story wrapped in a pretty package, and it will stick with you. Love, drama, and forgiveness at its best!

Wow, totally amazed! This book was so enjoyable and I was quite intrigued by just the cover and decided to dive in. The story flowed and I could not put this book down!

I love a great strong female lead character in a story. Jenny is truly amazing, she is strong and determined to not only solve a mystery but to keep her father’s business going so that his reputation is not in ruins. Trying to run a PI office during the depression can be quite difficult. When Jenny’s cousin, Betty, find herself in some trouble over a beautiful necklace, Jenny tries to solve the mystery over stolen jewels. There are twists and deceit along the way of this story. Will Jenny solve the crimes of murder and missing jewelry before it is to late?

Definitely check this book out, it is fantastic!

Claiming My Mate: A Forbidden-lovers romance is the first book in the Wolf Hollow Pack series. I enjoyed this book and the characters. Prince Jason is a significant romantic lead. Lily is a human servant of the pack. I wanted the best for the new couple, and I like the story and how it dealt with sensitive subjects. There is rape, so be warned if that might be a trigger. It is handled well by the author. I like the forbidden romance element of the story and am interested to see if some of the secondary characters will play a larger role in future books in the series. I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more from this author in the future.

How I love this series so much…..and this 4th book is no exception! The story of Yolanda and Michael pick up at the end of book 3. I highly highly recommend reading this series in order as the the characters continue in each of the books.

The love that Yolanda and Michael have….really made my heart happy but yet misunderstandings, sadness and fear get in the way of their marriage. When Yolanda decides to take a break and re-evaluate the marriage, she decides to return home back to Bunya Junction. Michael gives her a little space but decides to go and fight for his marriage and back to Bunya Junction as well. With the roller coaster of marriage of fears, misunderstandings and loss, will Yolanda and Michael find their way back to each other? Definitely read to find out.

I also love the fact that the characters continue within each book and you really get to know the family. I just loved this series and I highly recommend reading these books. They are fabulous.

The Killer Jack Mystery is part of the J.D. Pierson Case File Series. This is a fun, cozy mystery that takes place during the Great Depression. J.D. is trying to save her father’s detective agency and solve the Killer Jack Mystery. I like a good cozy mystery as well as historical fiction and this fits the bill. J.D. is a determined female detective who is trying to protect her father’s reputation by taking over his detective business without that information being made public. She has lots of challenges in a male-dominated world beyond just solving a mystery. I liked the characters and story and look forward to reading more in this series.

Get ready for all the feels! From page one I was excited to read Micheal and Yolanda’s story. I’ve read some others in this series and found I easily read them as a standalone but will be reading them all. This may be my top pick in this series but it’s a hard choice for sure. But this one just pulled at my heart a different way is the only way I can describe it. These two brought me so deep into their story and world that I simply didn’t want to leave them. I love a great second Chance romance story and that’s exactly what this author brought. It’s well written with characters that just draw you in and can easily connect with. So excited for more from this author! Five stars and highly recommended!

Cosplay Worthy by Quiana Glide – Review by Santana Hicks

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book was so adorkable to read! (yes I know I spelt it wrong) The main character is so cute. Layla is nerdy, introverted and shy. When she gets a chance to meet her favorite comic book writer Vic, she is over the moon. At the comic con, dressed as her favorite character from Vic’s comic, she approaches Vic’s signing booth with a bundle of nerves. They commented on her cosplay and she was at a loss for words.

Later that evening at a party, she once again comes across Vic. They had a nice evening full of easy conversation. That was the end of that. Or so she thought.

After posting online the images from the comic con, Vic commented on some of them and sent her a friend request. Layla could not believe it. Time goes on and they continue talking online forming a relationship. I really like how the author got the characters to get to know each other before jumping in like a lot of other romance novels.

Everything seems to be against them, they live across the country from each other, there is an age gap, different race, he’s famous and she’s not. All of this causes Layla to second guess everything especially herself.

Throughout the book, Layla battles with low self esteem. I loved the way the author wrote Layla as a character. She was flawed which made her more real. I also resonated with a lot of Layla’s personality traits which made the book that much more interesting to me. Honestly, if the author wrote Layla based on themselves, I could see us being best friends in real life.

This book may have set me back into my paranormal romance reading again! I found myself having a hard time really sinking into them recently but I can honestly say that funk might be over. Jason and Lily pulled me right into their world. There’s a bit of hard subject matters but I liked how it was all handled. And you just as easily connect with side characters also which was great! I’m so excited I gave this one a try and am looking forward to the next one. Five stars and highly recommended!

This YA paranormal read pulls you right in! First I loved all the 80’s music references! Now this isn’t your typical paranormal read. There is actually nothing typical about this book. Clowns have always been creepy to me so to read about them I definitely wanted the lights on! I love Abbey’s thought process about everything that’s happening at Pine Ridge. Also really enjoyed the side story with Peter! I look forward to reading more from this author especially when I found out there’s a first book about Abbey!

For starters, Lily is overall a complete badass of a woman when she wants to be. She’s a human slave at this pack’s castle serving for the royal family. She gets bullied a lot and nothing is done about it. Well, when a worse bully comes in and does something that should not be done, she ends up getting the attention of Prince Jason of the Wolf Hollow pack. Prince Jason just got back to the castle with his family and detected a scent that smelled amazing to him. After a couple scenes, he ends up finding Lily. It takes a lot of paths and challenges, but the read is worth finding out! I’m ready to read the second book! 🙂

A very interesting cozy mystery. When I first saw the cover of this cozy mystery and having read the previous two books I just knew that I had to read it. That being said if you haven’t read the previous two books in this series, I wouldn’t recommend starting with this one. While it could be read as a stand alone you might find it hard to understand the characters and the setting if you start here. But trust me when I say you won’t be sorry if you read the whole series. The writers story is highly original, the characters are amazing, and this cozy mystery has everything that a girl could ask for. So if your looking for a great new mystery to read this weekend then pick this one up today.

This story is about giving first love a second Chance. It’s everything you could possibly want from a sweet second Chance romance. You can’t help but feel every emotion the author brings into the story. You also can’t help but root for Liam and Kayden, the draw you in so easily. It Just Comes Natural (Powder River Pack #3) by Brooke May

This isn’t the first book I’ve read by the author. It Just Comes Natural is the third book in the Powder River Pack Series. Another fantastic read by the author and I hope there is more.

Macy is going out for the weekend. Her friend Cora is celebrating with her. They go out of town and she swears she’s going to put her foot down when she gets home. The quote I chose for Macy is: “Maybe we could work in some shopping as well? It would be nice to buy something without Mother looking over my shoulder.”

Brandon goes out with his buddies the night before deployment. He isn’t looking for a girl and he sure as hell isn’t expecting to find his mate. Will he be able to convince her of being his mate? The quote I chose for Brandon is: “Listen,” he cuts me off. “I don’t want to sound like a creep or anything, but do you want to get out of here?”

Highly recommended for Werewolf Romance lovers.

This book finds Emma and her cohorts involved in several mysteries! She finds out she has come into a significant inheritance that she, with the help of her teammates, decides to put to charitable use. As they set up the fund, there are several hurdles that they encounter. New friends are made, and new buildings are acquired for their purposes. Good news abounds for her sister and Emma finds herself in a bit of a medical emergency. The bad guys keep coming and adventures always seems to find her wherever she goes. After they set up their charitable agency, an old enemy tries to thwart their plans. Will the team be able to track him down before disaster strikes?

This is a most enjoyable series! There is always something going on mystery-wise. Emma solves one and the next one seems to find her without her even trying! I like how she always seems to be in the right place at the right time to solve everything, but it is through her observations that she figures it out. I feel like anyone could take a page out of her notebook and learn to observe others before responding!

Weep, Woman, Weep: A Gothic Fairytale about Ancestral Hauntings by Maria DeBlassie – Review by Tausha Treadway

Weep, Woman, WeepWeep, Woman, Weep by Maria DeBlassie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Weep, Woman, Weep: A Gothic Fairytale about Ancestral Hauntings by Maria DeBlassie. I loved this book. It was such a deep, tragic story. Its the story of La Llorona which is a Mexican and Latin American folklore about a woman who is said to have drowned her children so she haunts the river banks wailing for her children. La Llorona is not going to get Mercy she is determined to not get bogged down like her friend Sherry did. It took her but its not going to take Mercy even when she tried to save her best friend it thought it got her but she survived. Her family is one sad story after another and Mercy is determined to break the generational curse. I really felt like this story was about the bounds of depression and trying to pull yourself out of the pit. I was rooting for Mercy thru the whole story and I think if all young girls are truthful you can see a bit of yourself in Mercy. This book is haunting, tragic and beautiful. I truly enjoyed it.

We meet Bullet in the first Grimm Wolves MC book by D.M. Earl, he is a broken soul who has had a rough go at life until the MC. Bullet feels like he has let down his “brothers” more than one time and along with his past, it is causing nightmares and making Bullet a bear to live with. An intervention is needed and along with Grace, his brothers try to help Bullet. Along comes Clementine thanks to Grace. She is a young nursing student and a feisty redhead. Is this what Bullet needs to move on from the past or will the past tear them apart?
Again D.M. Earl has delivered a great read she has a way of making the characters jump off the pages. I can not wait to continue this series.

Call of the Alpha (Powder River Pack #2) by Brooke May

This isn’t the first book I’ve read by the author. Call of the Alpha is the second book in the Powder River Pack Series. It was a fantastic read and I can’t wait for the next one.

Rylie is living in her mom’s house after college and goes to a new bar. She isn’t there looking for love, but she finds it. Is it going to be too much? The quote I chose for Rylie is: “Because I won’t drink as much, and I’d rather hit a deer in my truck than your car. Now, where are we going?”

Mason is the co-owner of the new bar that has opened up. He’s also a single father. The mother of his son signed away all her rights. Going to work was a good thing because there he finds his mate. The quote I chose for Mason is: “Unfortunately, you can’t change who her father is. She may have stood a chance if Brandon would have behaved.”

Highly recommended for Werewolf Romance lovers.

A Second Chance (Powder River Pack #1) by Brooke May

This isn’t the first book I’ve read by the author. A Second Chance is book one in the Powder River Pack Series. The author sure knows how to keep a reader entertained.

Annabelle is coming home after ten years. She still thinks about Derek. She thinks he’s moved on and doesn’t understand why he didn’t come after her. Can they forget the past and try again? The quote I chose for Annabelle is: “Make yourself at home. We have a shit ton of work to get started on.”

Derek is a werewolf and no longer has the connection with his wolf. He let his mate walk away from him ten years ago and hasn’t made any move to go after her. He learns that she’s married now and doesn’t want to ruin her happiness. The quote I chose for Derek is: “I’m not really sure. We are better now, or at least, I feel like we are, but as for a relationship, I’m not sure yet.”

Highly recommended for Werewolf Romance lovers.

An enjoyable and exciting paranormal romance, featuring wolf shifters and fated mates, which had me hooked from start to finish. This is the third book featuring the werewolves of the ‘Powder River Pack’, but it can be read as a standalone story. Werewolf Brandon Quarters is seen as the jokester of the pack but has decided to join the military. However, in a night out before he’s deployed he meets a women in a bar, who happens to be his mate. As soon as Brandon returns home he’s determined to find the women and make her his, but there’s a surprise waiting for him at the pack bar. Macy Cutler has always had a lot of expectations on her shoulders, desperate to be a good daughter and not follow in her sister’s reckless footsteps. This all changes following one night of passion with a man she met in a bar. Years later and Macy has overcome lives many obstacles to make a life of her own, but she’s never forgotten her one night stand. The characters and setting are brought vividly to life through the descriptive narrative, making me feel immersed in the storyline . I found both Brandon and Macy to be likeable characters and their instant chemistry really came across in the story. I look forward to future books in this series.

A lovely sweet contemporary romance with a second chance at love theme, which kept me happily turning the pages. Kayden James and Liam had a relationship when they were younger which ended badly, having both moved on and achieved great things career wise, neither of them have met ‘the one’. Successful marriage and family therapist, Kayden thought she had put the past behind her until, Liam, the man who broke her heart turns up years later, claiming he’s changed. Liam’s one regret was letting Kayden slip through his fingers, and he’s determined to prove to her that he’s changed, and that she can trust him, but she’s not making it easy for him. I liked both Kayden and Liam’s characters and could feel the chemistry between them, but could also understand Kayden’s reluctance at giving Liam a second chance. However, I was cheering them on hoping they would both get their HEA. This was a fairly quick read, but an enjoyable and engaging one with a heartwarming storyline and likeable characters.

This is book 2 of Grimm Wolves MC Series and I loved this story just as much as the first one. The author does an amazing job of involving the reader into the world of the MC club, fully immersing the reader into their lifestyle and the danger they face.

In this story we learn more about Bullet. Bullet is a prospect who we met in the first book. After an attack left him very injured and struggling to recover in the 1st book we now rejoin him and learn more about his road to recovery. We also learn about his past and how he became part of the Grimm Wolves MC Club and of course we find out and meet his love interest. No biker book is complete without a romance however I think Bullet with have his hands full with Clementine (Flame)

This is the third book in this series and what a story it was. The author had me flipping pages so fast because I honestly couldn’t get enough of what I was reading. Rhyann was an amazing lead character, I really loved her. She had such an amazing strength about her and she wasn’t afraid to follow her dreams. Mason was everything I wanted from a leading male character and more. There was just something about him that drew me in and the chemistry between these two was just off the charts. Notebook Mysteries ~ Changes and ChallengesNotebook Mysteries ~ Changes and Challenges by Kimberly Mullins
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Having read and enjoyed the previous two books in this series I was looking forward to this third novel and was definitely not disappointed. It was good being back with Emma Evans as her adventures with solving crimes and mysteries continued, in this enjoyable and engaging YA novel. Set in Chicago, in 1885, Emma is contacted about the reading of a will involving a prior client, she has to determine if this inheritance is a good thing or not. On a trip to New York City, Jeremy and Emma become closer and their relationship deepens, so much so that they want to stay together on their return, but there are limited choices for a young couple in 1885.
A new case soon becomes complex involving, kidnapping, murder, drugs and hidden plots, luckily Emma has a team of both old and new friends to help her solve this. However, the case becomes personal when secrets are exposed about Jeremy and Emma’s personal life, and loved ones are put in danger. Emma also agrees to meet Tony in Paris as he needs help, but Jeremy has an ulterior motive when he convinces her to go alone. The authors descriptive narrative brings the settings and era vividly to life, making me feel immersed in the story. The exciting storyline and plot twists kept me hooked from start to finish, and I liked ‘catching up’ with old friends from the previous books. This can be read as a standalone story, but for more of an understanding of Emma’s backstory, I would recommend reading the series in order. I hope there will be a fourth book in this series.

Another hit in this series! The author does a wonderful job weaving another steamy romance in this story with Mason and Rhyann. I was curious how the author would tackle Mason’s story, the playboy that he is, but the story was believable, engaging, and authentic to who he is a person. Rhyann was a lovely addition to the series and loved her character development.

This author continues to slay this series with an engaging writing style and twists and turns in the story to keep the reader intrigued. I love the way the author develops characters and writes reliably wonderful stories! I can’t wait for the next!
