Skylar is an active duty military nurse and a new single mom. The baby is a result of a “two night stand.” She finds that she needs her sisters and heads to see them for the last few weeks of her maternity leave. She hasn’t shared with anyone who the father of her sweet baby girl is.
Nick finds himself in a medical emergency and the only person he can think to call is Skylar. She takes him to the hospital and this is where he meets his daughter for the first time. Unsure if she wants to let Nick in, she realizes that he does want to be part of their lives. Skylar is going to have to decide if she can let him in.
With lots of decisions to make, Skylar heads back to active duty and Nick begins traveling back and forth. But is this what they both want?

I feel like this book will be recommended to everyone that encounters me! I loved every part of it! Levi and his two brothers (identical triplets) are running the Creekside Ranch as well as trying to raise their little sister when Bella falls into their lives. Levi doesn’t know much about Bella’s past but is tasked with keeping her safe awaiting the trial to put her Russian ex-boyfriend behind bars where he belongs. Will he give her the new life she’s looking for or will fate intervene? I love the different points of view shown throughout the story while the mix of humor, romance, and suspense flows perfectly. I also enjoyed the subtle navigation of the entire family helping Levi with his PTSD was refreshing. The author knocked it out of the park and I can’t wait to read about Amos and Eljiah next!

An intriguing murder mystery with a few twists along the way. Being in the head of a journalist on a mission was interesting and made you feel like you were doing the investigating. I would have liked the mystery to be a bit higher stakes and make it more exciting to follow, but it was interesting none the less. The ending was so heartfelt and concluded the mystery in a great way. I will definitely be looking for more from this author.

I fell for these characters immediately. They were so relatable and honest, and it was refreshing to read. The world building was a lot to take it but it made the story even more intriguing, and I can’t wait to see where these characters go from here!
This dystopian thriller has a plot based around the GM versus Organic debate that is well known around the United States, if not the world. It focuses on a particular genetic mutation that is able to enter and affect the human body when consumed from animal based products. These humans turn into what the characters in the novel call “Genies”. These Genies are violent, unreasonable, and zombie-like. Much of the focus is centered on the government hiding the fact that they allowed these GM’s to be distributed throughout the world and the friend group that the novel focuses on specifically is trying their best to spread the word so others are not affected by these GM’s.
To be quite honest, I was not able to enjoy this book as much as I wanted to. Dystopian is one of my favorite genre’s, so I was eager to get my hands on it. The beginning is much too political and scientific for my fictional brain, making it difficult for me to dive right into. The characters are very strong-willed and interesting, but I feel like information is thrown at you in random places throughout the book. I also feel that the novel was slower-paced than your typical dystopian writing. There is so much happening that you really have to be paying attention or you will miss a valuable piece of information. If you like a more realistic dystopian take, this novel is for you. Unfortunately I could not separate the political ideologies in order to enjoy this book as much as I wanted to.

I love a romance with a strong female character. Aimee is touch, strong and very independent. Through a few misadventures, she meets Qadir, pushes back againtst a corrupt cop and jus tries to live her life. Qadir is determined to make her his wife. Oh, did I mention he is a Sheik? This is a story that will entertain you. It’s not your usual romance. Aimee tries to keep doing things for herself. Qadir is just trying to love her. The world is pushing back with problems. I found all the characters well-written. I love when she uses knowing Biggie as a threat. Or how her biggest treasure is her skateboard. The story is amazing. No glitches. I can’t wait to reat the second book in the series. Power women make this series rock.

I’m very much invested in this series. In this book, Julia is trying to repair damage that she caused to her ka-tet. She also is dealing with her past and some major depression. When someone suddenly disappears, she turns to Matthew, who still hasn’t forgiven her. Together they must figure out what is going on. This book is very hard to put down. I had to just read another chapter, well into the night.

I am so glad I could go straight onto reading this after book 5 as there is a definite cliff hanger. Chains has been found but he is in a critical situation. Winnie and Jackson are left waiting to hear if their man will survive, and are unable to do anything to help, they know not only that he is physically in a bad way and in need of medical assistance but they know that mentally he will be in a very bad place. They are unsure if he will recover and come back to them. We are introduced to Pussy and continue to learn about Wild, and Tinks and her female MC. As well as being introduced to Thor and Mavis who both have deep issues in their past. On returning home the story continues as there are attacks and continuance of the MCs trying to find who is behind all of the troubles. We follow Chains, Jackson and Winnie, as well as the MCs as they work together to get answers and bring down a child trafficking and paedophilia ring. And we discover how Chains, Jackson, Thor and others are involved. This book like its predecessor continues to be dark but deep and pulls you along on this very engaging rollercoaster of highs lows and sharp turns.

The Blood Prince is an intriguing YA fantasy and I love the cover. It is written by Ayla Marie a young writer still in high school. It is also her debut novel. This is a great start and show cases her love for storytelling. She is a naturally talent writer. I found this story interesting and engrossing and couldn’t wait to turn the pages. Ayla is just as good if not better than some of the seasoned authors I have read.
Ayla has given us readers all the ingredients that make it a great read that not only has you glued to the pages but also your heart pumping. It is action packed with lots of danger and hidden agendas, drama with lots of twists and turns.
No spoilers here you just have to grab a copy and dig in. You will not be disappointed.
Even though it is a YA fantasy tale it should be read by anyone. I am nearly 60 and I really enjoyed it.

This book grabs you, drags you in, throws you around and spits you out. The characters and storyline is deep. A Dark Romantic Suspense is exactly what it is, and some people may find it has triggers. WE follow Chains (Nicky), Jackson and Winnie and their triad relationship, digging up the past and moving onto the future. Their abusive and dramatic past, in care (where they are abused both sexually and mentally) is brought to the present when Chains is abducted and his past comes repeats itself. Winnie and Jackson are fraught waiting for news of the third member of their triad. The MC family pull together to find their missing Enforcer, support his family and are shocked to hear what they have lived through and why they are as close as they are. There is a big veil of uncertainty as no one knows who is behind the abduction, it is someone who knows the threesome and their past, someone who has access to people and places, and someone who does not have morals, and they are not above hurting children or adults. Can they get the answers they need to solve the issue and find their missing man? Other MCs come to their aide and I hope that the author expands the books to include these amazing characters. We meet people from Chains past that were assumed dead, people who are survivors and supporters of in these situations. This book is amazing and I am glad I can go straight on to read the second part as the story certainly needs to be concluded. I found it difficult to put the book down, but found myself needing to take a break as the dark side of the writing needed to sink in.

This book gave me all the emotions. I have read the other 3 Band of Sister books by Marianne Rice and will say this one was my favorite. You do not need to read the other three, but they are amazing and you should do it anyways! There is just something about a single independent mom finding her person that hits close to home and gives me the warm fuzzies. Skylar is a strong independent army medic who just happens to get the greatest gift of her life after the greatest fifteen minutes of her life. At first look Nick is your typical small-town playboy, carefree, business owner. After getting devastating news ending his adventures, he has no idea that his biggest adventure is about to walk through the door!

Nathan was her opposite in a sense but being with Holly brought out the best parts of him. The secret Nathan holds turns out to be the best thing that could happen as it brings them together. Such a sweet story that I recommend for everyone

This book was beautifully written! The author did an amazing job illustrating the setting with words alone. I could see everything each of the characters saw solely because of the words the author used in their descriptions. Their characters were so fabulously written too. I adore the alternating points of view, giving me an understanding of both Mark and Paige. The friendship between Paige and Camilla was fabulous too, it was obvious that the two were very close, almost like family. If you like a happily ever after, I would definitely recommend this beautiful journey!

It is a fantastic start to the trilogy- which I can’t wait to continue. As a debut novel, this surprised me as it is really well written and quite polished. And if this is what we get from a debut author, I can’t wait to follow to see what the future holds for her, and her stories. This is an action-packed YA fantasy with danger, drama, twists, powers, agendas, and much more. This is a flight from the demons of the past. Of being hunted. A fight for survival. A fight for freedom. A mercenary who is more than he seems. And that ending…. OMG!!! Bring on Book #2!!!! I need to know what happens now!!! Happy Reading!

Princess of Prias by Courtney Davis is a superb sci-fi fantasy story with so much to keep you entertained. The story is another well-woven tale from this very talented author, and is a little different from her previous book. She is on my ‘one-click, no questions asked list’ because I know that whatever she does I am going to love. And this book certainly proved that right. With danger, hidden agendas, action, drama, romance, and humour- this journey of self discovery turns into quite the adventure for Elle. Her strange dreams have nothing on the reality that fate has in store for her. So strap yourself in for quite an intriguing ride…. you won’t be disappointed! 3.8/5 stars This book was okay. I could see the theme the author was trying to do, I just don’t think it was executed well. Every time I read “mommy” I cringed. It gave Melody a child like persona instead of an adult one. I do appreciate that the black characters didn’t have an exaggerated version of AAVE like other authors try to do. I wish this book was more realistic to the ages of the characters and the college experience.

The first two books in the series give us the backstory of Julia, a human girl who is eventually turned into a vampire. Her story continues to evolve as she meets many friends and foes, while learning to cope with her new lifestyle. Over the last few decades, Julia has learned a lot about humanity and vampires. The things she thought she knew have been all but disproven as she has grown to learn more about herself, despite how painful that journey of discovery was for her and the ones closest to her.
Will Julia be able to fix the wrongs of her past? Will the resistance ever accept her back and help her finish the battle she agreed to take on in the first book? This was a wonderful read and I was very pleased to learn that there is a fourth book. I’m looking forward to reading it so that I’m able to continue this journey with the characters I’ve grown to think of as friends.

The second installment of the series, Pursuit into Darkness, is a great continuation of the War of Destiny Series. When we left off in the 1st book Julia had recently been changed into a vampire and had turned her childhood love interest into a vampire too. This book picks up several decades later, and has the characters living back in London when a new conflict faces them. As revealed to us in the first installment, all vampires have a special power, and it is in this book we learn what Julia’s power is. Now the question is ‘will she learn to use her powers to come out victorious?’. For the sake of preserving the element of surprise, this is a story you must read to see how our characters fare when chaos ensues.

This was a really good read! Not only was it short and quick, it was packed full of emotions and twists. I thought I had the twist figured out (and I had one of them figured out) but not all of them! It was very interesting reading this one because o haven’t read a novel quite like this one before. It was also romantic, and can be read at any age really. This book was sad but also inspiring in a way and had a gothic romance theme going. Kudos to this author and I can’t wait to read more from her in the future!

In the 3rd Book of the War of Destiny series, Between Darkness and Light begins where the second book ended. Julia made a truly difficult decision at the end of Book 2, and this book flawlessly picks up where it left off. I love how this book shows how much Julia’s decision truly impacted the members of the ka-tet. The characters in this third book continue to evolve and change with, not only the story itself, but the time period in which they find themselves. Theresa Van Spankeren does an amazing job describing all of the new places traveled to. There is still so much emotion in this book, just like the other two in the series so far! I could feel the sadness, the excitement over small triumphs, the pain that is felt. I cannot wait to read more by this author!

I started off reading this series not sure how I would feel about it, since I’ve never read any vampire stories prior to this one, but I quickly grew to realize that I enjoy the storyline and characters immensely. Lost Soul is the first book in the War of Destiny Series and it was a great read. The author established all of the characters really well and takes the time to give the background of the main character Juliana. Juliana, or as she likes to be called Julia, is a very relatable character who is very young when she experiences many life altering events. Although she has been through a significant amount of harsh events she is still a very humble and innocent young lady, who has more spunk and desire to live than most. I’m looking forward to reading the next installment of the series to see how her story progresses.

I took a chance with this book and I’m glad that I did. It had adventure, mysticism, bandits just to name a few. Leo and his siblings are on the run living in poverty, but Leo has made a name for himself, “The Blood Prince”. This has made some issues for the siblings, but when Leo finds out that his brother has the same power all bets are off and out the door. I loved reading this book although it was a little slow in the beginning but I’m glad I stuck with it. This author writes wonderfully creating this new story for all of us to see and read. I can’t wait to see what this author does with their other books!
