Body Checked: A Frenemies-to-Lovers Hockey Romance is the second book in the Astoria Bay Thunder Series. This book runs along the same time period as the first read of the series, Power Play. You are introduced to Brider and Tia in book one. This book details the beginning of their relationship and brings you in to get the inside workings of how they got together. The author does a great job connecting the reader with the characters. I can’t wait to read more in this series.

Body Checked is the second book in the Astoria Bay Thunder series. I must say this book was a great and exciting read. C.J. Cartwright really knows how to keep your interest and get you invested in the story and the chemistry between the characters. The plot is well developed and has just enough twists to make putting the book down hard.
This is not your typical boy who meets a girl and they fall madly in love. Bridger and Tia meet due to a job opportunity for Tia to help her best friend with the Astoria Bay Thunder photoshoot. They both acknowledge their chemistry but not in the typical let’s get to know each other fashion.
Bridger a well-known playboy known better for his scores off the ice than on the ice had to put in a lot of work to get the girl. While Tia the highly guarded independent woman had to learn to trust a man again.
Reading about their love story and seeing it go from nothing to something was great. There were times I wanted to yell at Tia for her decisions. While other times I was fawning over how Bridger treated her. This book is the perfect combination of love, angst, and passion. When the passion flows you might just want a drink of water nearby to cool you down.

I loved this book. Tia and Bridger had me laughing out loud one minute and pulling at my heartstrings the next moment. The bond between them was so authentic. If you like sassy bantering and frenemies-to-lovers, this is definitely the book for you!!

I haven’t read many of this author books but what I have read I enjoyed. This a Contemporary romance about finding love unexpectedly, with a friend to lovers’ theme, mentor/mentee relationship, between firefighters. I enjoyed the plot and the characters where well written and the way they play off each other makes them real.
We watch Sol fight his demons when he can’t be a firefighter because of an injury. With nothing to do he finds solace in the bottle. He needs to wake up and move on because he might not have a house or friends anymore. Can ember help him face his demons or will he be forced to live alone?
Ember is a new firefighter and she is kind of lost without her mentor and long-time crush Sol. Can she help him move forward or will her job drive a wedge between them? Will Sol open up to Ember? With an eleven-year age gap between them can they be happy together?

This book kept me on my toes the entire time. It was exhilarating, to say the least. Castor and Mia are an amazing couple and this being the first book I have read of the series it took me a second to catch on and actually be pulled in because it isn’t the typical book that I would read. It was amazing though, the action, the details of the characters and you could visualize it as well. Curve balls kept being given as well. You’d think the book was going to level out about 50% of the way through then nope something edging happens. Mia is a human, Castor isn’t but what they become is something that I feel you only get once in a lifetime. I can’t wait to read the next one.

Sadie and Charlie had what they thought was a chance meeting at the local bookstore. Sadie is a bookworm that loves the local bookstore and its eccentric owner. Charlie is new to the bookstore and is only there to buy his grandmother a particular book. They bump into each other while picking out their books and again at the register. Charlie decides to buy Sadie’s book for her but somehow after the owner wraps and bags both books they get switched. Sadie decides to try and find Charlie after reading the book that was supposed to go to his grandmother. They meet again on the sidewalk as she is walking to possibly try and find him. They learn they live in the same apartment building and that he works at the coffee shop she frequents. Is this all kismet or is there possibly more to it than they see?
This is the first book that I have read from this author and I loved every minute of it. This is the first book In the All things Dark & Deadly series by S. F. Benson. The authors writing is very intriguing and I was immediately pulled into the authors world. This is an intriguing fantasy with paranormal elements, a mirror/parallel world, a quest, action, adventure, danger, agendas, a sinister adversary, magic, family, loss, heartache, and much more. I’m excited to see what this author does with this series in the near future

This is the first book that I have read from the author and I wasn’t disappointed. This is also the seventh book in the Bellevue Bullies series. I do recommend you reading the first 6 books before this one also. The author had me on the edge of my sit from the very first page of the book to the very last sentence in the last page. I was not able to put the book down until I finished it in one sitting. The plot and characters are beautifully written. I will be the reading the rest of the books In the series soon. I also look forward to reading more of the authors books in the future

This is the first book that I have read from this author and I loved every minute of it. This is the first book in the First Coast Thriller Series and it was amazing. The author’s writing is very unique to them and how they’d portrayed to plot and the characters was phenomenal. Ex-cop Clayton Conway has made some mistakes. He’s trying to work hard with a repo company, hooking cars and boats. Raise his daughter and stay friendly with his ex-wife. Make enough money to pay the rent on his tiny apartment over a bar in Jacksonville Beach. But when one of the Orenato Cartel’s speedboats gets repossessed, they come looking for it. Putting Clayton, his family and friends, in danger. I’m excited to see how this author continues this series in the near future.

I found the narration quite a entertaining addition to the story. She adds attitude and personality to the characters. The story rocks. Strong female sleuth figures out the mystery. She is up against a town trying to hide the secret of who killed a woman 20 years prior. This was a delightful mystery that had pitfalls and twists at the best spots. Every time I’m thinking I figured it out, here came a curve. I love cozy mysteries because of the humor while you are solving them. I would recommend this to all my cozy mystery fans out there.

Have you ever read a book and wished you could smack some sense into the characters? That’s how I feel about this one! I’ve been anxiously awaiting this story about Krystina and Loukas as they’ve been mentioned many times in the first two books of this series. There is so much chemistry between them but neither want to really acknowledge it to the other for fear of ruining their friendship. Loukas has grown up next to Krystina and they have been friends since birth. Their mothers were best friends before the unfortunate passing of Loukas’s mother.
All Krystina wants to do is travel and take pictures….and stay as far away from Loukas as possible. However, he’s going through a lot right now and really needs a friend. Krystina has always been that friend but she wants nothing more than that.
Nicholas, who is Krystina’s soon-to-be brother-in-law, arranges a trip to Greece for the siblings. It’s time for them to see if Panos will have anything to do with them. Hopefully he’ll come home to his beloved, Yiayia and all will be right with the world.
The dreaded lockdown of 2020 happens and Krystina and Loukas find themselves in the house with just Yiayia. The rest of the family was in Loukas’s house after finding out that Yiayia, Krystina, and Loukas have all tested positive for the virus. Krystina and Loukas see to Yiayia as her health starts declining rapidly, but are they starting to see each other in a different light too?
This book was the most emotional of this series by far!! I was frustrated with Krystina and Loukas and their teenage antics, and I was trying to get an understanding of decisions made by Panos. The mystery finally comes to an end but it was not one that expected at all.
I’m excited to read book 4 and learn more about what Theo has been up to. I’m sure it will be just as entertaining as the rest of the family!

This author has yet to disappoint me with her stories! Enchanted is the right word for the journey you go on as you read page after page. Roxanne is healing from something tragic in her life when she becomes a caretaker for a famous author, Claudette Grayson. Claudette doesn’t like the idea of someone telling her what to do, so they find some common ground. When they bond over books and stories, it is just the distraction Roxanne needs. When mysterious things start happening around the house, including one of the book characters appearing to Roxanne, she finds herself questioning everything.
This book was quite an adventure! I loved the depth and emotion of the characters. I really connected to Roxanne and her life. This author has a way of intertwining enchantment, supernatural and real life. There is no feeling like getting completely engrossed in a beautiful story. Lastly, I just want to add that WOW, that twist threw me for a loop!! It is not often that I can not predict the ending to a book, but this one I definitely did not see coming.

I was super excited to read this next book which focuses on the story of Mia and Nicholas! I got to know Mia a little bit in the first book of this series so I was happy to see that she got her own story.
Mia has just landed her dream job at a luxury magazine. She loves doing photo layouts and travelling around to see the sites for her job. Her boss sure is one hottie though…but looks to be attached at the hip to someone else. Little does Mia know, Nicholas and his sister run the company together and often make public appearances side by side.
Nicholas is, let’s say, rough around the edges and makes it nearly impossible for Mia to work with him. She quits her job several times only to have Penelope, Nicholas’s sister, beg her to come back. They need her in order for this magazine to get the attention that it deserves.
This book further explores the mystery of Yiayia and Panos and is starting to really heat up. The fact that Nicholas is intrigued helps the family out in ways that they never dreamed could come about. We learn slightly more about Kallye and Max too!
I don’t know a lot about Greek culture but this book has had me intrigued. I do enjoy Greek food and I love that there are recipes scattered throughout. Reading this book, like the first one, I felt a part of the family. Let’s just say Nicholas better be glad Mia isn’t my sister in real life or we’d be having some words with each other!

Kallie is a pastry chef running a little café where she features some of her family favorite pastries. Coming from a Greek family, there is plenty to choose from! She’s had a very traumatic experience that has her guarding her heart. Her family is super supportive but they think that she works entirely too much.
Max has returned to his hometown and is settling in as the newest beat cop on the street. He and his partner, Leo, are called the café that Kallie owns to pick up a license plate for identification. Electrical currents immediately start flying between Kallie and Max but neither are up for anything relationship-wise. Max is still trying to recover from his former wife’s antics on their relationship.
This book is full of romance, mystery, recipes, and second chances. This is my first read by this author but she is now on my favorites list! I very much enjoyed these characters and well as the suspense surrounding Yiayia (LOVE this woman!) and Panos. I felt like I was part of the family as I was reading this story! I’m excited to learn more about other members of the family and how things progress with each of them!

Triad Resumption: Part Two (Grimm Wolves MC Book 6) By D.M. Earl 4 Stars
This book was intense. It picks up where a Tortured Man’s Soul finished and brings you on a whirlwind ride. I was constantly on the edge of my seat wondering what would happen next. Chains literally went through hell and back. My heart broke for him. He has evolved so much throughout this series. I was happy to see that he got his head out of his behind and realized what’s truly important in life. I enjoyed the introduction of new characters especially Tink and Shadow. I’m hoping to read more about them. I’d love to know more about Shadow’s story. This book was amazing but cannot be read as a stand-alone. You must read this series in order. Readers must be warned that there are lots of triggers and scenes of sexual violence.

My kids LOVE the adventures of Maia, Trezzie and Fig! Trezzie is Maia’s imaginary mermaid friend who loves to show things to Maia. Even though Trezzie can’t see Trezzie, she follows Maia in her adventures. The bright colorful illustrations catch the reader’s eye, and go so well with the story that it is easy to follow along, even for young ones that can not read yet! I love that this story engages readers in a scientific journey. It gets the mind thinking and gets my little scientists wanting to try experiments of their own!

An enjoyable and entertaining contemporary sports romance, with a frenemies to lovers theme. Professional hockey player and self proclaimed bachelor for life, Bridger McKelty is known as a player both on and off the ice, and he’s happy with both his lifestyle and his reputation. Tia Ferris is determined not to get involved with another unreliable playboy, but she’s not going to turn down a ‘no strings’ attached wild weekend with the sexy Bridger when the opportunity comes up. Both Tia and Bridger were very clear about the rules, one weekend, no strings, and no feelings allowed. The only problem is Bridger can’t stop thinking about Tia, and he realises his fling has turned into an obsession. Whilst Bridger has to decide how far he’s willing to go to get what he wants, Tia is trying hard to stick to their rules, as she struggles with her trust issues. I happily read this as a standalone story, however the characters are recurring, and I’m now intrigued to read the previous book in the series. I loved Bridger and Tia and their battle of wills, as they fought both their feelings and each other. I loved the witty banter between them, and how their relationship developed from instant attraction to something deeper. The chemistry between them sizzled off the page and led to some steamy scenes. I felt immersed in the world of the Astoria Bay Thunder hockey team and I found the story entertaining and engaging, and I look forward to future books in this series.

A great follow up to Power Play, Body Checked takes it to the next level! I was so excited for this book, since I already enjoyed the little of Bridger and Tia from the first book in the series. I was not expecting to like it more then the first, but here we are! Bridger and Tia’s dynamic is great to follow. I think this book is spicier than the first, and I found myself hanging on to every page! Definitely recommend picking this series up if you are looking for quick and exciting reads with sports, spice and everything nice!

This is a really unique book. It has a mixture of everything from sci-fi to romance and even a little horror as well. The author separates the chapters so that each one is from the perspective of a different character in our story. This was nice as if felt like different stories inside one book. I liked the humour in this book. It’s quite dark but didn’t stop me from laughing at different parts. The characters have a very real feel to them which makes their personality and humour easy to connect with. Most of our characters are damaged in someway and trying to regain their lives and this makes them endearing to the reader. This story is fast paced and contains lots or action and adventure which will keep the reader gripped and maybe a little confused. One thing for sure once you start you won’t stop until the end.

This was an excellent book about three friends and their relationships, with each other and with other friends made in their freshman and sophomore years of college. These three friends, Lance, Imani and Melody have a great relationship, but have to figure out how to balance friends, school and romantic relationships. When Melody meets and starts dating Kevin, they quickly become attached at the hip and are inseparable, so when Kevin starts to become abusive and controlling, Melody decides to overlook the issues, and starts to blame herself for what is happening. This book is very good at covering what abuse looks like, both psychological and mental, and the view from the outside looking in (from Imani and Lance, though mostly Imani), and from the inside, with the victim often believing themselves because they are being love bombed into thinking that they are the problem and they are the reason for whatever is wrong in the relationship.
I am truly looking forward to reading the other two books in this series. The characters are relatable, and the story pulls you in from the beginning.

I really love the fact that the author has squeezed in this short story between books 1 & 2 of the Trilogy. It gives a great character backstory. The book is just as good as as one of thr full length books. It is exciting and well written. The main character is such a good one. She is strong and fiesty, a great example for the intended audience. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and can’t wait for the next.
This book is great for teenagers who enjoy dance, suspense, and teenage drama. Lauren is at Amberwood Hall school of ballet. Her one passion in life is dance. She is able to see Grace and Rodney who are ghosts in the school from the 1800’s. They are all close friends as such, as only she can see them. Her best friend Kate puts up an online website for students to talk about things they are interested in or things happening around school. It was a great idea until stuff starts to get posted that can affect them all. Can Kate and Lauren’s friendship survive? Read and find out.

‘Amber Waves of Grace’ is beautiful. A story of second chance love and redemption. Corrie is just trying to help her family with farm and trying to decide which man she is in love with: Aaron or Luke. We also see some holiday miracles. It is an inspirational story that gets you right in the feelers. I love how it is a Christian fiction book. It is clean romance. A very wholesome approach which is also very nice to read. It is a quick read for those weekends that are not booked up. The characters are well-developed. I love the plot. It is very smooth. A truly gifted story that makes you feel good.
This is the first book in this series and it start off very strong from the start i was hooked. Fitz is extremely likelabke and this book has so many twist and turns it gives your a shock. It does contain some graphic information such as BDSM and violence. Lots of intriguing to keep you guessing and reading through different pov made it a very interesting read.

This is the 2nd book in the Astoria Bay Thunder Series. I’m a huge sucker for a hockey romance since reading Helena Hunting’s Pucked Series and I loved the first book in this series and was so glad to finally get to read Bridger and Tia’s story. As this book is written in the same timeframe as the first book in the series we had seen Bridger and Tia in action before and I was so looking forward to getting their full story. Also with the same time frame it was great to re-live Levi and Brynn all over again and be reminded of their amazing story. I had adored Bridger in the first book and it was great getting to know the real him, not the Bridger that the outside world sees. He’s actually a very sweet adorable guy under the tough hockey enforcer exterior and I loved reading his and Tia’s story. As feisty as Tia comes across there’s a wounded, damaged young woman underneath just needing the right person to make her whole again. Definitely worth the 5 stars I’m giving it and I’m looking forward to getting to know more of the Astoria Bay Thunder guys sometime soon.

This wonderfully written novel had me hooked from page one and I felt completely immersed in the storyline. Roxanne Ferris is recovering from a personal tragedy when she decides to take a summer job as a caregiver to the bestselling author Claudette Grayson. The ailing author wants to spend the time she has left in the house she’s so fond of. The pair bond over Claudette’s enchanting stories of fictional characters, and it gives Roxanne the perfect escape from her haunting memories. However, when these characters start to feel so real that Roxanne not only sees one of the fictitious characters in the house, but actually speaks with him, she starts to question her sanity. As Roxanne tries to discover who the mysterious stranger is, the summer could either bring her peace and closure or destroy the remains of both women’s tormented minds. The descriptive narrative really brought the atmospheric and at times claustrophobic feeling of the house to life. The characters were intriguing and I felt engaged with both Roxanne and Claudette, and I really felt for both of them due to the tragedies they had faced. The storyline flowed well and had plenty of plot twists to keep me guessing as to the outcome of the story. I found this to be a gripping read and one which I had trouble putting down.

Divorced and finally free Brynn meets an unlikely friend at a child’s birthday she is photographing. This friend launches her into Thunder territory where she runs into Luke aka her first love. However, Bryan has been burned more then once and isn’t about to let her guard down…..or is she? This book is a rollercoaster of feelings and super relatable…..I mean minus the pro hockey team. I fully recommend this book.

I’ll be honest this book started out slow and I wasn’t sure I would enjoy it. Then the chemistry pulled me in and I couldn’t escape once Bridger and Tia met the sparks flew. It’s truly a book about trusting your heart and not listening to others. All it takes is a meeting to change everything and CJ showcases this perfectly. Loved this and can’t wait for the next book.

Holly is just trying to find her spot to fit in in her new school. Of course, the popular kids turn out to be jerks. The cutest guy, Nathan, is gorgeous but acts llike an asshole to her. Unbeknownst to her, he is hiding a big secret that he doesn’t want anyone to know. This is a wonderful book. So many emotions were felt as I read this book. The story is so romantic. I found the characters well-written. Evan, Nathan and his parents felt like they were many of families I know that do have members with epilepsy. The students at the high school fit right in with the peer pressure and how the caste systems go. My favorite part was the ending. That was a surprise that as the momma of a kiddo with a disability, I love seeing. The whole plot was well-written and researched. My son has seizures and I found the information the author shared spot on. Hiding the secret was a topic to follow because that’s a young person’s past time for many, especially in this day of social media. This is one of my favorite author’s as she writes books that cover topics that make you think. This book is a great book that young people will like. I would give it more than 5 stars if I could.
