When I first started this this book, it seemed meh. Then I got really into it and made me think, what I would do if I was transported back to my senior year in high school? Would I make changes to affect my future self? This was a great story. I couldn’t wait to see what would happen. The story line was well written and thought out. Even though Josie made some slight adjustments that affected the future, it righted itself out in the end. She wasn’t the hormonal teenager who wasn’t thinking about anything but what she had going on in her life. She used that 40-something year old to thoughtfully make decisions. While she was dearly missing her children, you could definitely tell the shift in the book when she wasn’t as fretful over getting back to them and focused on the last couple of months of her senior year. She has the same Aubrey and Ben. Maybe even the happier ever after part. I cannot wait to see what may come next after this book. Definitely going to keep an eye out on future books.

Sometimes you can pick up a book in a series out of order and still be able to connect in quickly. This is not one of those. I highly suggest reading book one before you start this one. I did not and it took several chapters for me to get a feel for what was going on.

In addition to that, where this story begins is after a major event, so you should have feelings about what is happening to the characters, but without knowing what they’ve gone through previously and having that build-up, it’s difficult to connect with the characters right away. And that’s not a writing problem, it’s just a reading experience problem because I didn’t read them in order.

There is a lot going on in this story, so you have to pay attention. Although, the world-building is good. The action, drama, and suspense keep things interesting.

If you start with the first book, as I should have done, this will make a great reading adventure for those who love Urban Fantasy with a twist.

“Red” is an enchanting and engaging read that weaves together elements of fairy tales, romance, and self-discovery. The story is full of lovable characters, witty dialogue, and exciting plot twists. The blending of fairy tales and modern-day settings is innovative and captivating. The idea of a fairy godmother and guardian angel working together adds a fresh spin to traditional mythological elements.

Lily and George are relatable and likable protagonists. Their chemistry is undeniable, and their personalities shine through in their interactions. The banter between characters is witty and amusing, adding a lighthearted touch to the story. (For example: “Some people think I go overboard. Especially the time when I drove sixty miles to rescue a squirrel,” or “George is like a dysfunctional hypothalamus. A hypo what?”

The playlist at the beginning of the novel is a nice added touch.

“This Time Around” is a captivating and emotional read that explores the complexities of second chances, self-discovery, and the power of love. Kimberly Packard has woven a thought-provoking narrative that delves into the intricacies of Josie’s past and present, making it difficult to put the book down.

Josie’s relatable struggles and inner turmoil make her a well-developed and endearing protagonist. Her character growth throughout the story is impressive, as she learns to confront her past mistakes and prioritize her relationships.

The book has an engaging plot- the time-travel element adds a unique twist to the story, keeping the reader invested in Josie’s journey as she navigates her past to fix her mistakes.

Even with the cliched elements of the “high school sweetheart trope,” this book is still a really fun read. I also really connected with Josie’s life in the past, growing up in the 90’s (Choose Your Own Adventure books, Back to the Future, etc.).

I was locked into the story from the first sentence. Like many others I’ve never read The Epics of Gilgamesh so I didn’t know what to expect. However, it was an amazing adventure. This is definitely a story for adults. There are trigger warmers in the beginning of the book so definitely take a look at that before you embark on this journey.
The author did a wonderful job with this retelling. You really get to understand the heart and soul of Gilgamesh and Enkidu. I appreciated the politics and the the tactics it took to rule. If you enjoy mythology, fantasy, and epic tales of history you’ll definitely enjoy this one.

An enjoyable and engaging contemporary romance set within the ‘Club Shattered Embrace’ world. The storyline revolves around a steamy love triangle involving Justine, Jordan and Derek. Derek Ingram is an ex Navy SEAL, who having joined Ingram Enterprises is now a billionaire corporate mogul. Whilst playing at the BDSM club he finds himself attracted to two very different but independent women. Justine is using the club to help her with her doctoral in authenticity, as Club Shattered Embrace is perfect for people-watching. She never expected to get involved with the emotionally distant playboy Derek. He teaches a class on power dynamics but the lines between academic and personal get blurred.

Meanwhile event planner Jordan loves going to the club to experience adventure, passion and pleasure, with multiple partners. One of those is Derek but she starts to want more than a casual relationship with him. Derek thought he had left danger behind him, but then the head of a powerful family, Lucian targets his brother Zachary and his sub. Derek needs to take Lucian down whilst keeping those he loves safe, including Justine and Jordan. As usual the BDSM Club Shattered Embrace is brought to life through the descriptive narrative. The characters are likeable and relatable. The romance between those in the love triangle came across in the story. Whilst their chemistry sizzled off the page and led to some steamy scenes. This is an entertaining series.

In the Midst of Omens was written by Nicole Bailey. The character building and world building was good. The book was slow in the beginning, but it eventually picks up the pace. The detailing in the book was good. I personally feel like the the writing style in this book could improve some. I felt like the book was all over the place.

King Gilgamesh is the leader of the great city of Uruk, he is God touched and almost invincible and has grand dreams for his future, he wants to rule all the lands between the waters and have his name remembered for all time for his deeds, however, this does mean that he has to create a carefully crafted image and maintain it. Enkidu is a man with no past who wakes up in the wilds and learns its lessons and all it has to teach him, until one day when he is given food by a woman and has to leave and fulfil his duty to the Gods.

King Gilgamesh has more than proven his might and ability to build and maintain the jewel of the land and his home city alongside his beautiful and fierce Queen, but she feels that he is not living in the present enough and works with the Gods to bring balance to King Gilgamesh and this is where he meets Enkidu, although their first meeting does not go quite as planned. As the days pass and King Gilgamesh has to deal with disruptive Kings, skirmishes on the borders and the lingering threats from Gods and Goddesses alike, he is also both frustrated and intrigued by the new addition to his household while also striving to preserve that which he has built both physically and metaphorically.

Behind the scenes though, a Goddess feels spurned and that her plans are not coming to fruition, and this will not do, but will it be the Goddess, King Gilgamesh, or another player in the game who will succeed and gain everything their hearts desire? This is a retelling of a famous legend where court intrigue can both help and hinder lives, while also twisting them in this epic with hints of romance within.

This is the first novel I have read by Victoria Saccenti it certainly won’t be my last and I will be looking up the other books in this series.

Although I have not read the first four novels in the Central Florida series – I read this novel as a stand along novel easily. It ticked all the boxes of a very hot menagerie and some very HOT sex scenes…. Add in some terrorist threats, kidnapping and …. Guess you will just have to read Storm, Marcus and Barrington story to find out ?

This book started off strong with a war and you get to see a bit of the personality of the main character. He seems to have everything but he isn’t happy and wants more. He wants a legacy left behind that will have stories be told and songs sung long after he is gone. The gods want him to be happy and fulfilled so they send Enkidu to fill that void. Then, there is the goddess Inanna that wants to rule Gilgamesh’s kingdom. She has plans all set up until Enkidu comes into the picture. Will she get the throne or will Gilgamesh rule with Enkidu by his side? Before picking up this book I had heard of Gilgamesh in name only. All the stories and mythologies have always fascinated me but his story is not one that I have read. After reading this retelling I want nothing more than to read what inspired the author into writing this story.

The Music that Ties Us is a wonderful story. The author quickly brings us a slight romantic triangle. With characters that were well written and delivered throughout.
Cadence has a fiance and great memories of their time together. But things are different now. Lost is the man she once knew, laid back and fun. Now he’s suppressing who she is as well. Until one night things changed. Craving independence, what does Cadence get herself into in this story?
Damien doesn’t want to be held down. But he can’t keep his eye off of Cadence.
Does he give into temptation?
What will happen with the fiance? I had so many questions through it all. With the plot included.
Again I will reinterpret how this book, it’s the beginning of the end? How will Cadence get through her current predicament?
I look forward to finding more books by this author

The Orange Forest Rabbit Mysteries by Lois Wickstrom is a great little children’s chapter book with 3 intriguing mysteries to unravel. Although aimed at 7- to 12-year-olds, the story isn’t accompanied by any illustrations at all, not even as chapter headers…. which may impact your child’s enjoyment of the story.
It is a mystery adventure story with an animal cast, drama, humour, fun, spies, family, agendas, fantasy, and more.
The book is broken into 3 mysteries, which make for pretty quick and easy reading. The mysteries are:
-The Mystery of the Missing Meteor Field Carrots
-The Mystery of the Haunted Amusement Park
-The Clue in the Airwhale Art

This is the second book I have read in the Central Florida Stories Series and just as before I was intrigued and excited how the story would unfold. Told from all three perspectives of the main characters, Marcus, Storm and Barrington, Irresistible Bond takes you on a five-year journey when friendship turns into so much more.
They all grew up together hip to hip to hip, climbing trees and scrapping elbows and knees. As they grew up sparks danced under the surface until one night they started to become a living dream. Enter Roddy, and Elaine, a beautiful new chapter set on fire before it could flourish. Judgement and distaste sent impulsive Storm leaving early for the DEA. She was tired of seeing drugs destroy the young and old alike and wanted to do more than just complain about it. Unspeakable things happen to her in the five years she is gone, and she doesn’t come out of it fully intact, her body is scared, and her mind heart is guarded.

I’ve never read the story of Gilgamesh so I wasn’t sure what to expect but this was a great story. Gilgamesh is a story about a part mortal part God who lives in a city with a palace and wives and many children, he leads a army who is strong and capable and feared by many. This however is not enough and Gilgamesh is set on leaving a legacy for all to remember and cant seem to find happiness with what he already has. The gods want him to find happiness and balance so Enkidu was made to be Gilgameshs other half. Enkidu was raised by wolves has no want of a legacy of his own only to fulfill his purpose. The moment when Gilgamesh and Enkidu touch is the moment a beautiful passionate relationship is born.
The lead up to develop these two characters is definitely a slow burn and is not for everyone, but the character development was excellent.
This story has several different relationship themes including mm mf ff and there are a few trigger warnings that should be heeded. There’s also several definitions in the beginning that are helpful to check prior to reading.

Rocky is nervous and worried about the family reunion because he hasn’t met anyone there and isn’t having a good time at all. He doesn’t know how to do the things his country cousins know how to do. When they find something that he knows how to do and they don’t, he learns that even though they are different, he has his own skills and they can learn from each other and teach each other.

I had previously read one other book by this author and enjoyed it so much that I grabbed this one up without a second thought. The cover is gorgeously intriguing which pulled me in even further. By the time I read the synopsis I was already making room for it on my shelf. The author did an astounding job of weaving the historical world perfectly with romantic fantasy, which I feel is an incredibly difficult task. I appreciate the fact that they included content warnings at the beginning so that no one is caught off guard. Something else that I absolutely love is that they included not only a glossary but a map to make it a little easier imagining the world as they wrote it. Even if you aren’t familiar with The Epic of Gilgamesh, this book will still blow you away. It starts off a little slow but definitely speeds up into more action and spice. I highly recommend picking up this first book The Legacy of Gilgamesh series because I have a feeling the second book is going to be a knockout!

Finding Love is Book 2 in the Clumsy Little Hearts Trilogy and I loved the story of Miguel and Rachel. This story gave me all the feels of unexpected love, romance, friendship, some heartbreak and a little bit of drama….I feel so invested in these characters and I was rooting for Miguel and Rachel through their entire journey.

Rachel has had many fail relationships, not finding Mr. Right. Her last breakup, had her contemplating if she was in love or even missed him. When Rachel is stood up on a date, Miguel is there just to have conversation and being there since he is the owner of the restaurant that she is at. Miguel and Rachel have this instant connection that is beautiful….but between Rachel’s past of finding all the wrong dates and Miguel holding on to a love that he was not ever going to have…they work together to build a love between them, but when the past comes back and unkind and hurtful words are said……will Miguel and Rachel find their way back to each other where they belong….

I highly recommend this story…definitely read this series from the beginning to get to know the characters…..I am eagerly anticipating book 3…I cannot wait…..

Trusting Love is Book 1 of the Clumsy Little Hearts Trilogy and I absolutely loved this book. Julie has this hold on me that once I start reading the story I cannot put it down. I adored the connection between Tess and Ryan, the flirty banter, romance, friendship but also getting over broken pasts that had a hold of them both for so long, trust issues and redeeming love.

Tess has a past reputation that is not so great. Once upon a time, in a marriage that was not full of love, Tess gave up long ago dreams….but now works and owns a local newspaper. When Ryan needs help when his business partner needs to take leave, Ryan takes an ad for help. What Ryan did not know was falling for the girl whom helped him take out the ad. Tess and Ryan have this instant connection and spark, truly undeniable. When the past come back to rear its doubt….and with Ryan and his trust issue, will Tess and Ryan be able to trust in their love enough….

I cannot wait to dive into book 2!! Knowing this feeling I am going to love every moment of this new trilogy….definitely do yourself a favor and read this wonderful story.

The Mystery of the Missing Meteor Field Carrots, An Orange Forest Rabbit tale – Gregory and his wife Jennifer are rabbits and big business carrot farmers, it is the carrots that he got his name from. Along with Robes Pierre their dog and his trusty sniffer nose, Gregory turns super sleuths in this fun whodunnit mystery. What is different after mysterious blue fireball and black stones fell to earth?
The Mystery of the Haunted Amusement Park – Gregory and Robes Pierre are on the case to find out what is going on at Carrot World. With spies and secrets everywhere, Gregory doesn’t know who to trust. Someone is trying to sabotage his business and that he will not allolw.
Mystery of the Airwhale Art – Gregory loves his business and money has his name on it so selling his product to far away galaxies can only be good for him. What a fantastic story. Storm, Marcus and Barrington were/are the very best of friends growing up. But Barrington and Marcus’s family don’t see Storm as a good fit to the family. Therefore Storm leaves and gives the boys their own lives as she goes in search of her own as a DEA agent. The rest you will need to read to believe. As I give no Spoilers. When Storm returns back to town broken and injured, will Marcus and Barrington come to help her rescue? Will she let them in? This author has really impressed me with this story. It has all the feels you could ask for as well as some you have not. The story is fast paced and will keep you glued in. May even keep you up all night. The characters are strong, independent and loving. The story is well written and never slows down. This is part of a series but can be a standalone. However I am going back to read from the beginning as I do want so much more from this series.

The cover of this book caught me, and I love it. Now for the story part. I have never heard the story of Gilgamesh and this is to be a retelling or basically based off his story. I felt it was slow at first and it is very much into world building (which I love btw). Gilgamesh is the king of Uruk, has mortal and god blood and because of this he is very powerful, strong, and wins all the time. Then you have Enkidu who was created by the Gods. I wasn’t very fond of Inanna but I also felt that there should have been more about her and maybe I would of liked her just a little although in my book she wasn’t a good person. Maybe just more to her story. Shamat is an awesome character and I love her!!

I haven’t ever read a book by Nicole Bailey before but I loved how she told this story and am actively seeking out others of hers as well. I also cant wait to read book 2!!

Stephanie is a kindergarten teacher during the school year and a yoga instructor at the Kincade Ranch during the tourist season. She loves living in Herd and being part of a community. Ted is the staff supervisor at the Kincade Ranch. Whenever Stephanie is near Ted, she can’t seem to speak, mainly because she has a huge crush on him! What Stephanie doesn’t realize is that Ted really likes her too but can’t figure out why Stephanie won’t talk to him. What can help these two finally connect? I’ll let you read the book to find out!
This is the second book in the Match Made in Montana Series. I enjoyed the story, had fun getting reacquainted with the main characters from the first book, and loved the story of Stephanie & Ted. Great characters and world building by the author.

This is a retelling of The Epic of Gilgamesh by Nicole Bailey. I love almost everything the author has written but I have an indifferent feeling about this book. I neither liked nor disliked it.

The world-building is wonderful, and the characters are described amazing as well. I felt so much of this book was repetitive – this was probably my main issue with the book. I wanted to love the story, but I just couldn’t. The speed of the book changes a few times, which has some to do with my inability to love it. The book starts off pretty energetic with the War but dies down TREMENDOUSLY after the second, maybe third chapter. It does not speed back up until the last 10% of the book.

The book starts off following Gilgamesh, who is 2/3 God, and the King of Uruk. He is also insanely arrogant, selfish, blood-thirsty, and overly obessed with crafting a legacy that withstands time. The Gods create Enkidu, who is a wild man but also God blessed. Gilgamesh now finds himself in a TRUE competition with someone who is not so easily beat. Enkidu was my FAVORITE character and overall aspect of this book.

This book is a part of a duology, and it DOES end on a cliffhanger. I do look forward to reading book two in hopes it is better than this one.

Trusting Love by Julie Navickas is book 1 in the Clumsy Little Hearts Trilogy. Tess Browning is trying to move from her divorce but keeps being reminded of the mistakes she made that contributed to the divorce. Fortunately, her past and her present collide and she meets Ryan Prescott. I loved the instant chemistry that Tess and Ryan had. While I usually like a slow burn, these two just clicked and seemed so right. I enjoyed how these two played off of each other. I also liked how they were both afraid but just stepped out on faith. I also enjoyed getting to see Ryan’s relationship with his family. He truly deserved happiness. This is a fun and romantic story.

Finding Love is book 2 of the Clumsy Hearts Trilogy by Julie Navickas. After Rachael Prescott’s sudden breakup with her boyfriend Ian, she finds herself a bit lost. Ian says that they are too different and that she lives for everyone but herself. When she gets stood up she finds herself having dinner with Miguel. Could this be another chance for love? This book was very sweet. Although I liked Rachael in book 1, I think she hits her stride in this book. In book 1 she seemed more like the bratty but well-meaning sister. I liked how smitten she and Miguel were with each other. They had a fun, comfortable, and safe chemistry. They were just perfect for each other. I enjoyed seeing Ryan, and Tess again. It was also fun seeing the ongoing sibling relationships. This cozy romance was a nice continuation of the series.

Enter a fantastical world filled with many original stories that make you think, feel, and wonder. Time moves for all beings, but while reading these stories I felt like time stood still. I got lost in each story and loved every one of them. Each tone, theme, and character were all uniquely different and displayed each author’s talents. I can’t even pick a favorite story because they all touched on so many different things! I wish I could rewind time and read it again because I truly enjoyed the steampunk and horror aspects! I highly recommend giving this anthology The Chaos Clock a read if you have the time.
