C.A. King has done it again. She has created an interesting, gripping and completely unique story that had me absolutely hooked right from the word go. I never fail to be impressed by her books and will buy them without reading the description as I know that whatever I get will be worth it. And proof of that can be found in this book. The story is captivating. From the minute I started reading I knew this was going to be one I could not put down. I loved the characters instantly. I wanted to know more about them and wanted to see how they would continue to interconnect. The story was interesting and really matched the characters it was about. This author really does know how to write incredible books and I cannot wait to read anything else she has to offer.
Single parent stories are one of my favourites tropes and when I saw the second book in this series was just that I could not wait to read it. This book was brilliant from start to finish and the author has done an amazing job at writing this style of book. She has effortlessly made the characters ones that are easy to connect with and engaging. I was behind them the whole time and couldn’t wait to see what they journey would be like. This author is one that I always enjoy and I think this book has to be one of my favourites that she has written overall. The story is interesting and I connected with it straight away. It is brought to life by the characters and the emotions. This is a book, and a series, that I would highly recommend.

An entertaining read with an intriguing storyline which kept me hooked throughout. Full of drama and suspense this was a real page turner, and the mystery element kept me guessing especially with the plot twists and red herrings. Nine months after her wedding Erica’s husband is away on another business trip when two thugs turn up, claiming he owes their boss a large amount of money from a gambling debt. Not wanting to stay at their apartment and fearing for her life a frightened Erica returns to her childhood Long Island home. She’s not been back long and with her aunts who raised her being just as interfering and controlling as always, she remembers why she escaped and has not been back for three years. Erica has a trust fund from her parent’s life insurance and her plan is to ask the family attorney for an advance so she can pay of her husbands debt and return to her life. However, she is shocked when he refuses saying that if she waits until her twenty fifth birthday she will inherit millions. With not long to wait she agrees but discovers that her aunts are keeping secrets, and with her husband still missing and people turning up dead, she realises that someone is trying to kill her and before her birthday. I felt fully immersed in this story as the descriptive narrative brought both the characters and the setting to life. I liked the mix of characters, some likeable and some not but who all brought their own personalities to the story. An enjoyable and engaging book.

This story is a slow rolling mystery. There is a little romance, mostly one sided it seems. There are many secrets being kept in this story, right up until the end. The plot flowed with these secrets and the good number of characters keeping them. The main character, Erica, is too trusting of not only her new husband but of every person she meets. She believes everything she hears. “You’re a gusty, intelligent woman, but sometimes you act like a brainless fool.”
Other characters include Erica’s husband Terry; her well-meaning older aunts; Doug, who is a “friend” of Terry’s; and the Hartley family. All of these characters are on my list of characters not to trust. Every one of them has a secret or two. The author’s writing leads me to believe they are all troublemakers and unable to be trusted.
Erica needs to decide what is happening around her, what happened to Terry and most importantly, she needs to survive long enough to turn 25 to inherit millions from her parents.

Another adventure with Kris? Yes please! These beginner chapter books are a lot of fun for my 7yo son and I to read together. They are always well written, and detailed in a way that’s easy for kids to follow along and to get lost in. This is a series, however, each book can stand alone and you won’t feel like you’re missing anything. This story follows Kris as she is dropped off at her Uncle’s ranch. She learns all about ranch life – riding a horse, working on the ranch, etc. Until it’s time for the cattle drive. Her uncle does not think she is ready for something that can be dangerous. Will that stop Kris? Of course not! She finds her own way and goes on an epic cattle drive adventure! There is so much that happens, it is sure to keep any kid (or kid at heart) entertained.

I absolutely love this series. Shayna and Burke are associated with one another through their mutual best friend Dre. They are drawn to each other and start as friends and grow into more, much much more. This book is full of all the emotions and feels. Friendship that leads to becoming lovers and there is drama and romance. It is everything a divorced, previously abused, single mom could ever hope to find. I love this book just as much as the first. While they can be read as stand-alone I highly recommend they be read in order to get the character backgrounds and learn about Dre and her story.

Turns out she is about to receive an inheritance that will solve all their problems. But before she turns 25 and can get her money, she keeps having weird run ins with blue cars and strangers, who seemingly keep trying to scare her or kill her. One even tried running her off the road. Erica is in over her head and finds out she really can’t trust anybody.
This book was recommended to me and I’m so glad I decided to read it. I was hooked from the beginning and it kept me guessing the whole time. Plenty of twists and mysteries throughout

This is a prequel to the Echo series by this author. If you haven’t checked the series out I highly suggest doing so. This is an author that I have enjoyed reading from the first book I picked up. I enjoy this author’s writing style as well as their attention to details that make the stories come to life. The characters are written with a lot of heart and romance. This book is no different. It is a shorter story and one you don’t want to miss. The characters are connectable and I had no problems picturing myself in their world. I enjoy what they add to the story and make it easy to read. This is a fast paced, entertaining story that is hard to put down. An engaging story that has great growth throughout the story. This is a story about healing and putting faith into someone. It will keep you turning pages to the end. I really enjoyed this book and I highly recommend it.

It’s always interesting to read about a mystery setting in another country. The reader gets to see how police procedures are done in another country. There’s plenty of crime, mystery, and who-done-it in this novel to keep the reader guessing all the way to the end!

Healing Hearts: Gene & Amanda’s Story, An Echo series prequel (The Echo Series)
This was the perfect story to end my reading break on. I have enjoyed each of the books in the Echo Series and love that we have Prequel in this series.
Gene is home to help the local Dr and figure out what he wants to do next. Comes across Amanda and witnessed her getting into an accident. Everything from that moment on is nothing either one of them could have expected.
I found myself so engrossed in the story that I didn’t put my book down and thankfully I didn’t have to worry about work interfering with my book time. I have been fortunate enough to read all of this series which also appears to be her entire catalog which is surprising to me. Ms. Alam has quickly become one of the authors I read without question. Can’t wait to see what she releases next.

This is my first read by this author. This book can be read as a stand alone but I will go back and read the previous books are there are a few holes I’d like filled in.
Vivian is a dentist and a self defense instructor. She has a bit of a rocky past and she’s wanting to keep it pretty close to the vest. Arrow (love his name!) is an former Navy Seal who is a now a billionaire wine connoisseur. He spies Vivian and is instantly interested in speaking to her.
There are many layers to this story, as well as many great elements. The chemistry between these two keep things interesting with a mystery and some pretty intense feelings in play.
Overall, great story and I look forward to reading the previous books in this series.

I had my 10 year old niece read this one at our sleep over and she really thought it was cute. It may be geared towards a little younger crowd but that didn’t matter to my niece. Now she’s asking for a pet Dragon but we’ll overcome that some how haha. This was a cute story that has an underlining lesson about love and acceptance but also teaching. The pictures are cute and engaging. The storyline easy to read and follow. I love finding children’s books with great life lessons mixed in. Five stars and highly recommended.

Five Tries to Get It Right is a wonderfully written Women’s Fiction/ Adventure that takes us on quite the emotional journey. This book hit very close to home on so many different levels. I’ve recently had some pretty big life changes and honestly couldn’t have gotten through them without my best friend by my side. This is a heartwarming story that has a fair mix of drama, love, loss, second chances, grief, heartache and so much more. I truly enjoyed reading this book and literally had to have kleenex near by. It’s really hit home and I’m here to tell you this is totally worth the read. I highly recommend reading this book and I must say this is definitely my favorite yet. I’m looking forward to reading more from this Author.

Oh what an origin story. I have loved this world since Magic Price. This author never fails to pull you in with their world building. It gives you a much bigger look into the character builds and back stories. And this is the first fantasy series I read with a male lead character. And it does not disappoint.

This was a great story for bedtime. My little one is almost two and he loved the pictures. I know he’s not reading yet but he liked listening to the story before bed. I enjoyed the rhyming and the overall silliness. And come on of course peanut butter sandwiches are great! It’s nice and short so kids don’t lose interest. My kiddo kept wanting me to read it again and wanted to see the pictures over and over. I think this would be perfect for a child learning to read. Very cute and well worth a five star review.

This book has the perfect blend of education and entertainment. You have a great story but it also has wonderful rid bits about the scientific side of things but in a way the kids will understand and enjoy. This author always knows how to keep people enthralled in the book.

Prequel to Echoing Hearts and more on very much loved characters! I definitely couldn’t miss reading this one! This love story centers around Gene, Dean’s older brother and a doctor returning to visit family in GA, and an old high school connection, Amanda. After an odd accident, Gene and Amanda reconnect. Amanda had a high school crush on Gene and recognizes him right away. Gene is visiting family after being burned out and needing a chance to reconnect. Amanda, a struggling, local baker remembers Gene so she takes advantage of a mysterious predicament to her advantage. Gene starts building up his curiosity with her story after nursing her back to health. He soon becomes the small town doctor, which is quite a change of scenery for him and also ends up finding what he’s been missing, kindness and compassion. I absolutely love stories like these where people fall in love as well as find their place in the world and get reacquainted with hope and kindness.

Jake is a brilliant daddy and he’s doing his best and there’s no doubt he loves his daughter and he’s got an amazing support system but X needs a mommas love and influence again there’s no doubt she’s loved but a momma just does things differently…
Alexa was left at the altar and I’d say good riddance because there’s so much better out there that will love her wholeheartedly and she has Biscuit 🐾🥰 her beloved and devoted four legged friend so boo hoo it’s Rodney’s loss ….
Alexa takes a vacation to catch her breath and on the way there’s a road incidents with hogs her and Biscuit aren’t really hurt but need to be checked out and guess who comes to her aid ? Dashing Jake ( and the sweet Katie’) ! Anyhoo Donna is at the house to check on Alexa while Brett will take a look at Biscuit 😍
So it seems that Donna needs to stay in the main house just for a few days and I could cut the tension with a knife ! Everything happens for a reason and I’m sorry the accident had uk happen but if ever there was a perfect match it would be Jake , Alexa , Katie and Biscuit 🥰
There’s so much to say about these people , the swear jar , the family , the comrade , the animals , the ranch hands …. It’s a read where friends become family , you laugh , you cry , you swoon , you get mad and you just get lost in between the pages ❣️📚

Erica has a lot going on, and I was invested in all of it. Between her husband, her aunts and her childhood best friend, it seems like she has things coming at her from all sides. Throw in the fact that she is extremely close to getting an inheritance that she didn’t actually know much about, and you can see how any nearly 25 year old might be overwhelmed, guarded and questioning everything. I definitely felt Erica’s concerns and confusion when each one person that it seemed like she should be able to trust, there was something that made that person not seem quite as trustworthy. For each wonderful thing that was going on in her life, it seemed like there was something that cancelled it out and made it not so amazing. I truly enjoyed this book and would read more from this author.

Lucas the traitor shows up and all warning goes to the wayside in a hurry. Master Oradea is charged with the safety of Natalia. Can he keep her safe? Can he not touch her? The fates have their own ideas.
Lucas is on the hunt and is scheming to get at Natalia. He wants to take down the pure bloods. Is Embry lying and on his side or is she being kept in the dungeon for no reason. The women are up in arms and giving the Master a hard time for not trusting her.
This was a great book and I enjoyed the telling of Master Oradea and Natalia. The story is slowly coming to a conclusion after 10 books. Here’s to reading book 11 and getting more answers.

I’ve really grown to love books by this author, and this was no exception. This is the prequel to the Echo series which I absolutely adored. If you haven’t read any of them yet, this is the perfect place to start! Amanda and Gene are one of my favorite characters I have found. Something about the way their chemistry tugs at your emotions. It’s amazing when an author can evoke those feelings through words on a page. Their meet-cute happens when Amanda is in a car accident and Gene is the hunky doctor that comes to her rescue. Although he helps her heal physically, Amanda is the one to help him mend his heart. If you enjoy contemporary romances with a dash of drama and a bit of steam, this should be your next pick!

A cute engaging read. Libby has just moved into a new town and she is already having to call the fire department. Yet her perceived bad luck may end up being good luck when firefighter Zach shows up on the call. I enjoyed the banter between these two. Watching their relationship take shape made for a nice story. It was nice to see that Libby is a strong woman and she is a good match for Zach. Their story is a sweet and fun read.

Kris & The Cowboys (The Adventures of Kris) by Art Blegen. This is such a fun series and your young chapter readers will love it. They are geared toward 6 to 10 year old and they make great gifts. In this story Kris visits her Uncle on his cattle ranch and when he won’t allow her to go along with them on a real cattle drive she invents one in her imagination and what an imagination she has. On her cattle drive a cow and cowboy turn up missing making them think he is a rustler and must be hunted down. There are mountain lions, thievery and more in this fun story. Your young new chapter readers will love it. It would also make a great family gift or teacher gift to read to the classroom!

Healing Hearts: Gene & Amanda’s Story (The Echo Series) by C.R. Alam. This is the prequel to The Echo series and its the story of Gene and how he finds the love of his life. Gene is a ER DR and has got a bad case of burn out. He has lost his passion and decides to head back home for a slower pace and friendly familiar faces. When he is thrown into a crazy accident scene as soon as he arrives he finds himself attached in more ways than one to the patient. Amanda is a baker and has been in a freak accident. She doesn’t know what happened or why and while recovering Dr. Gene is taking care of her and helping her remember what happened. While Amanda may think she saw something on the road Gene is wondering if her mind is playing tricks on her but he’s going to believe her until proven differently. While they spend time together their chemistry is off the charts and while Dr. Gene realizes he can’t spend another day without Amanda does she feel the same. Read this awesome romance to find out!

Productivity is Power 2: For Creative, Business, and Other Professionals is just what you need to get out of a funk, or unglue yourself from that rut you are stuck in. What may work for some; may not work for you but there is always something that will resonate with someone. It has some good ideologies and methodologies that are easy to enact. Being a leader in a workplace I am always looking for material to help my staff feel empowered. To help them want to be involved in what they do and how to do it better. I have always believed that it all starts with how your staff feel about themselves and the workplace. Hillary Rettig’s Productivity is Power 2: For Creative, Business, and Other Professionals goes into that and more. A lot of what I bring to the workplace is covered in this book, so it was good to feel validated. But there is always something to learn, and there were somethings I did after reading this. No matter what you do or where you work or do not work and want something to help overcome the “oh I will do that tomorrow” feeling, or “I’ll get to that later” then stop and take the time to sit and read Hillary’s book.

Clear your schedules ladies because putting this book down will not be an option. A twist of fairy tales and reverse perceptions. One Quarter Villain is an interesting concept and a unique tale. I mean who can have a DNA test to find out what percentage of villain they are. When I read this, I knew I had to read this book. It is definitely a thought-provoking tale. That’s what I like about Cori’s stories is that you never quite know what you are going to get, and she surprises me each time. Cori has done it again with quirky characters as well as being fast paced and action filled tale with a fantastical world of magic and beasts. This YA tale is fun and can be enjoyed by all.
