Don’t let the cover fool you. This paranormal fantasyish tale is original and intriguing. It has a Cinderella feel with a twist to it. C.A. is known for writing a variety of genres and why enjoy them. You never know what you are going to get. I have said it before and am saying it again C.A. King never fails to deliver great works for her readers. She is one of my favourite authors. I love her unique and eclectic writing skills and the array of unusual worlds and characters that she creates.
Ever wonder where the name Vampire came from? There is a definite line between humans and paranormals if only they could get along. A treaty is to be signed but will it be upheld? She has always been looked down on as lesser than the fiercest, the bravest and the strongest yet she may just win his heart.
This imaginative and creative short story is one not to be missed for paranormal lovers.

When writing a review I find myself often saying if characters draw me into their stories and lives because for me if while I am reading I can be made to truly see what’s going on in the characters lives in my minds eye and can feel what they are going through then to me that’s a damn amazing book and an extremely talented author. This book and author had me doing that and more right from the very start. I was connected with and cared about both Barbara and Sebastian right away. They’ve had such very different lives but their inner core of striving for Justice is very much the same. There is so much emotion, pain, drama, steamy moments and even laughter that will have you turning page after page as that need to know what’s going to happen takes you over. Get reading now you won’t be disappointed!!!

Troy is where it all began for Ian Troy and is the prequel to The Crown of Stones Trilogy. This trilogy is one of my fav’s. I had to snatch this book up straight away when I saw it.
I love a good high fantasy tale and CL does not fail to deliver. I love the darkness, the unique magic, the rawness and the grittiness of the world, time and setting of the story. It is a cleverly woven piece of work set 15 years before the trilogy starts from when Ian Troy was a young man and still learning who he is and what the world is about. What is a story without slavery, war, death, danger, battlefields, action, drama, and lots of suspense.
Ian a young man treated so badly just because of what he represents. In slavery to a horrible Queen who sends him om a death mission. Will he be their salvation, or will he lose himself?
If you love fantasy this is a must need read.

This is a series that I have enjoyed reading from the beginning. This is one of my favorites for sure. I enjoy this author’s writing skills and her attention to details that not only make the story pop but her characters as well. This book is no different. It is a well written story about Ian Troy and his magical honor to protect the kingdom. What will happen when he is sent to enemy territory? Will he prove once and for all that there is so much more to him than just his magic? I enjoyed this character and what he brought to the story. He is my favorite and had me turning pages fast to see what would happen to him next. I enjoyed watching the growth of the plot which made the story easy to read. This is a fast-paced, fantasy story that is hard to put down. This is one you don’t want to miss. I highly recommend this book as well as the other books in this series.

This book is a wonderful prequel story that shows how the whole series started. This couple is one that I wanted to know more about, having seen glimpses of them. I loved watching how their relationship started and developed as the book went on. Their connection was undeniable.
I thought the story was a great addition to the series and was really well written by the author. I found it engaging and I was pulled into the story right from the start. Although this book is a novella, it didn’t feel rushed or like anything was missing. This is a fantastic book from start to finish.

Book number two in this series and we have another murder mystery for Dr Liccione and Dr Finnerty. This time, a young veteran dies by suicide and his wife believes something else is up. The doctors must figure out if there really is something evil at play or if there are rampant suicides happening. They once again, get involved in something people don’t want them involved in and it becomes dangerous. This was another hit for me. I love how descriptive the authors are. I hope they continue this series.

Just Ducky kept me interested from start to finish! It was a nice change from the typical shifter and vampire story. It kept me guessing and wanting to read more with each chapter. The ending was unexpected and I loved it! It’s the kind of book that makes you sad that you’ve finished it. I will definitely be reading more in this series.

A really well written novella and prequel to the Echo series by CR Alam, I have read and enjoyed the Echo Series and was intrigued to see if the prequel could answer some of the early character development questions, and as well as a good novella it does roll easily into the series. The characters continue to grow and world development is interesting.<br />We meet tired worn out doctor Gene and his return home, where he meets and treats Amanda, both then find they have feelings for the other but are trying to stay impartial for a bit, but small town gossip and rumours as well as developing feelings and mystery pull you along as you root for them to become more than doctor and patient. <br />

This is the second book in the Finnerty and Liccione Mystery series. While the books can be read as a stand alone I do recommend reading them in order to get a better grip of the characters and their pasts.
This is a medical murder mystery with twists and turns that keep you guessing with every turn of the page. I never knew what was coming and I was surprised as the story unravelled.
The author does a great job of handling subjects such as PTSD and addiction in the story in a way that is informative and respectful. Allowing the reader an insight into what that is really like for the people suffering.
When a young veteran is found dead in his car in the garage of the VA Behavioral Health clinic the question becoming was it murder or suicide?
When Dr. Marnie Liccione and Dr. Louise Finnerty join forces again to get to the truth they start to uncover things which could have dangerous consequences for them both. With a dangerous drug doing the rounds and drug ring operating could this be the cause of the deaths/suicides of so many veterans? And can they get to the bottom of this before another life is lost?
With danger, threats, and race against time this is a fast paced story that I couldn’t stop reading

This is book number one in the medical mystery series. I thought it was very well written and interesting. In this story, two Doctors must figure out how their doctor friend was murdered. Their friend, Dr Gen, was investigating an illness that started from mosquitos. It turns out, she was into something that people didn’t want her to be in. Her friends, must be careful as they try to figure out who did it. I love that this was written by real life doctors. The details and descriptions are top notch.

The start of the book was a bit confusing. It did get easier to understand  as the characters were explained and their general lives were expanded on. It was a very complex medical thriller. It was a very gripping “who-done-it” while they determined if it was murder or suicide.

Just knowing what the veterans go through as they are reintegrated into society after serving and the various levels of PTSD is gut-wrenching. I felt like it gave the audience real-world explanation of what military personnel go through.

Amese of Animalis is a fantastic youth chapter book that creates a world within our world of beings who are not humans, but maintain magic within earth. Amese is the daughter of the leader of one realm, a teenager coming of age with the pressures of being the future ruler quickly approaching. Amese has to accept and complete apprenticeship training, but in the meantime, as a member of Anamalis, the animal realm, Amese experiences life as various animals, taking lessons from them as she goes.
This is an intriguing read, something I think my son will love- I can’t wait to get him started on the series (and, I can’t wait to find out what happens next!).

We definitely chuckled reading this book. If you want to know how many animals eat their PB&J, this book is for you. Khloe is 4 and she loved the colorful pictures. As the adult, I loved the rhyming and showing her all the different animals. She giggled at a few and I think the lizard was her favorite. I think this one will be in our weekly rotation that she asked me to read. I’ve read it 3 times already for her.

The Rack was impossible to put down, so I finished it in one day. It starts with Margot Keating going to London to find out her relation to the duke. She is instead met with the murder of the duke who sends her on the trail of the mystery of the family’s hidden diamonds. On the same night, she walks into an orgy thrown by the next-door neighbor, Langley, who is the biggest rack in London. Margot now sets off to find the diamonds and the dukes’ murderer with the least likely help, Langley. Things only get better from here so be prepared for a slow build with satisfying spice. I loved Margot’s character due to how strong and independent she is, she doesn’t believe that she needs a man in her life. Can she be the one to tame this rack? I can’t wait to pick up the next book, The Duke, because it ends on a cliffhanger. This will not be the last book I read by Ava Bond!

The School of Nine was a perfect Novella for any YA reader. Bianca is a Muse in training that is attending Brightling Academy. She trips in Poise class one day to be met with Sebastian, the first male to attend the academy in decades, since Muses are typically female. Once Bianca and Sebastian realize that the signs are appearing signaling the end of the Muses power, they must do everything they to find a way to stop it from happening. I loved the premise of the story with a school full of muses to bring inspiration to ordinary human artists. They bring good things into the world and make the world a better place. The love interest is wholesome. Amanda Marin does an amazing job giving significant detail to the world even with a short number of pages. I look forward to reading A Song of Salt and Secrets next.

A Song of Salt and Secrets is the second Novella in The Mythic Academy Collection. This book takes place in the same world as The School of Nine. The main character this time is Corisande who is a Siren studying at Magwitch Academy, a boarding school by the sea. Sirens are cured with a song of salt that lures unexpected sailors to their deaths. Corisande accidentally sings to Noah causing him to crash on the shore, he is injured but alive. What will happen to Corisande and Noah now that he has heard the sirens song? The world building and character development is fantastic considering that it is a novella. The details within the book are enough to hook you in. It is a nice twist on myths about the supernatural. The romance is clean. Overall, the book is a fun and short read.

This book is wow! This is a romantic suspense with some kick-ass that will leave you in awe. Arrow and Vivian are two people that want to fight the attraction as they have different focus. They will eventually come together to rescue a little one in trouble. The action is palpable and the romance is great. I love this author’s writing. This is a fantastic series that often leaves me feeling that I’ve just been on a wild ride. These are some fantastic characters that will take you for a ride as they are on their mission. I can’t get enough of this series.

This was a cute fairy=tale like story. It did remind me a little of sleeping beauty but she wasn’t part of the tale. I loved Ducky. Here she was the underdog of the story. When the Lord of the Castle called her his emotional support duck, I was a little worried that nothing would come of that. She overcame the challenges thrown at her, rose like the amazing beauty she is and saved everything. I liked the fact the even though there is a romance with the Lord of the castle, he’s not too big a player It’s more a story of growing into her powers. Oh,I loved seeing Lita get what was due her for her actions. Excellent story. I can’t wait to read more in this series.

I love the dedication in the book: To anyone who doesn’t have life all figured out. Neither do I. Let’s enjoy the journey anyway.”
This is such a great story for kids ages 10 and up, (even adults). Amese is 13 and I like that her personality showed her young but also mature when she needed to. I love that there is different magic in this story, we get to meet some other characters who are with earth, water, and air. Amese’s village is all about connecting with animals. I liked the lessons Amese has received with each animal, and I love that they have helped her start to find herself. It’s also pretty cool that she gets a marking of the animal (like a tattoo) after the lesson. Overall I feel if you love fantasy or want to introduce your kids into fantasy this is a great book to read. I can’t wait for the next book in the series.

Breaking Apart is book two in the Finnerty and Liccione Series by the powerful duo Wanda Venters and Mary Rae. I dove right into this immediately after finishing book one, and finished this one almost entirely in one sitting. This one can be read as a stand-alone, however be warned, it does contain spoilers for book one if you haven’t read it yet. I adored the way these two authors are not afraid to write about the harsher, real topics that most authors don’t. I have definitely fallen in love with this authors and cannot wait to see what else they have in store for us!

Having read the previous books I was rather curious about Jake so I started this hoping I’d find sone of the answers to the very many questions I had ….

Jake has resigned as CEO and is I hoping to live out his passion which is writing thrillers and one of his books have made it to NY bestseller lust and there’s talk of making a movie so I’d say he’s well in his way ! Yet he’s still nervous his family won’t approve and that’s why he writes under a pen name 🤷‍♀️ I think he should take bragging rights ! He’s talented !
Anyhoo he causes quite a stir when he heads to Port Townsend for his brother , Jake’s wedding 💒

Jake has alot going on , he has quite a bit of baggage because of family issues and he’s mourning the loss of his friend who died in front of him so cut the guy sone slack when you want to get frustrated with him ok !?

I loved every moment if this real and I fell in love with the Victorian homes and I could see myself living in one 😉🥰

Jake is also after his own HEA like his siblings and Chiara catches his eye but there’s just 2 glitches 🙈 she’s his nephews guardian and she’s married ! I’m like Sheez this guy needs a break !

At one stage I did feel like I had more questions than I did when I started this but remember patience is a virtue 😊

While the saying goes that a leopard doesn’t change its spots just be gracious and give Jake a fair chance 🥰

I did feel a lot reading this and felt I needed sone sweet comfort food when I was done 🥰🤣🙈

Vivian had moved to Providence to search for a young girl possibly taken by a memory Vivian didn’t want to remember. But Vivian not only had to face the memory but everything that went along with it to help save this girl. Arrow was willing to help but Vivian had to let him in.

As Arrow and Vivian grew closer, they were able to find the missing pieces of the puzzle to save the young girl. This also led to finding more people willing to help Arrow and his boys on their mission to destroy the international criminal organization, Trogyn. As Arrow and his boys continue to dismantle Trogyn, they face bigger and more powerful danger. As they gather allies, the battle doesn’t look as daunting.

Another stellar episode in the series! This one goes along all smooth and then BAM!!! Drama, intrigue, exploding teeth, and excitement. Hold onto your Kindle because you never know what is around the next corner!!

Well this was my first story from the author and as a fan of historical fiction, this book did not disappoint! I will definitely be checking out her other series and waiting for the next book in the series to come out! Margot is a wonderful heroine and I loved how strong willed she is, despite her station in life. She is trying to stay under the radar, but when her birth father she just met is murdered and a piece of a treasure map stolen, she immediately jumps into action. She accidentally meets the Earl of Langley, when she follows the killer into his house, interrupting his naughty time. She immediately stays calm, despite her attraction to him, which attracts him to her. He agrees to help her on her hunt for the killer and the map. The author writes a really well written historical romance with characters you will fall in love with and some really fun twists and turns with the mystery. I can’t wait for the next one!

This is the first book I have read from this author and she now has a new fan. This is the first book of the amazing series called The Daughters of Dishonor. I have been reading more historical romance books but this one was very interesting. You are going to fall in love with these characters right from the start. I could not book this book down until the end. It only took me a few hours to devour this amazing story. I can’t wait to see what she will write next.

Margot Keating is a country girl and her father is a vicar. She feels like she will never find the love of her life. Margot is so excited when she finds out that she is going to London. She is getting to settle for their first night when she hears about a murder of a Duke. Margot is the first on the scene to solve this murder. She is then paired with a very handsome Lord Silvester and she feels something that she never felt before. Will Margot find something more than the killer or will she get herself in even more trouble?

Just like the rest of the books that I have read by Lois Wickstrom, this one as well does not disappoint. Always a fun story with wonderful illustrations. This one about the healing of a scraped knee. The fun jingle-ish type rhythm and the more technical explanations on the same page help kids of all ages learn about how wounds heal. Great story !
