This book was completely captivating! I listened on my commute to and from work and found myself leaving for work early for extra listening time because the suspense of knowing where the story was going was KILLING me! I really liked the characters in this book. They seemed very real to me and I loved how the author did that. Also, steamy romance can be a hit or miss for me depending on the author’s language during those steamy scenes and India Kells definitely has the right words! Dan Price narrates this book and does a great job differentiating the different characters. I always knew who was sayin what and could feel their emotion through his voice. This was my first book by this author and I can’t wait to get my hands on another!

I have read and enjoyed all of the books by KG Fletcher that I have read and was not disappointed by this standalone friends to lovers, with a rock and roll twist, romantic suspense. The author took me on an emotional rollercoaster with this novel, its a wonderfully written and heartwarming friends to lovers romance with an added rock and roll element. Casey is a party girl and backup singer who meets stand in drummer Sam whilst on tour. The couple have an instant connection which gets stronger throughout the story, especially after tragedy hits and the couple need each other more than ever. They become friends and although they are both attracted to each other, Sam is still hurting after a bitter breakup and Casey is just not looking for anything serious. However, when Casey has to leave to go to her sister and niece’s aid, when she learns that her abusive ex brother in law has found out there address, Sam goes as well. Casey is worried that her family’s drama may put Sam off from any potential relationship but he’s more worried about Casey and her sisters safety. This novel really was an ‘edge of your seat thriller’, I was gripped from start to finish. The storyline had plenty of romance and great music as well as suspense and family drama. It definitely had more of a dark twist to it then previous books I’ve read by the author as it involved Casey’s sister being in a past abusive relationship, however this topic was dealt with sensitively and added to the over all story. The characters were all so well written and described that I felt like I knew them! Sam and Casey were great main characters, I love how their relationship grew and developed over time, and how their chemistry sizzled off the page and resulted in some steamy scenes. I also loved Casey’s niece, known as GG. This was an engaging read and I was fully immersed in Sam and Casey’s story, so much so that I read the book in only a couple of sittings. I also found myself thinking about the book and the characters long after I had finished the novel, always a sign of a good book for me. A five star read.

Alamir. (Blood of Kaos series book 1) By Nesa Miller.
I love it when you read a book unlike any other you have read before, this one for me was just that. Such a unique story I couldn’t put it down and was saddened when it came to the end. A great start to what I know will be a fantastic series. Nessa Millier sure knows how to drawn the reader in, a fantastic author who’s created such wonderful and complex characters you will love getting to know. I’m really looking forward to the next book in this series.

I don’t know why, but I have a bit of a soft spot for villains, I find their stories interesting and usually there is a reason for the way they are, maybe they are misunderstood, or something traumatic has happened to them to make them hate the world and everything in it. I really enjoyed reading this book, a Dark Fairytale full of magic. It is set form Lady Isra perspective, the big bad Villain, only we get to see both sides of her. I truly enjoyable read, I would highly recommended.

I enjoyed this original story, the first in a new series by Ellen Butler, the story introduces us to our heroine Karina Cardinal and is a wonderfully written novel based on a true event and which had me hooked from page one. “In 1990 a Boston museum was robbed of $500 million worth of artwork”, in this novel the author comes up with a storyline based on what could have happened to this stolen artwork. This was an exciting cozy crime mystery novel with a strong female lead in amateur sleuth Karina Cardinal. The storyline was fast paced and had plenty of drama, suspense and twists and turns that kept me guessing and happily turning the pages. When Karina Cardinal ends a long week lobbying on Capitol Hill, instead of chilling out in front of Netflix, her and her boyfriend, Patrick Dunne head off to his parents’ annual holiday bash. The evening becomes more interesting and more dangerous when Karina sees something she shouldn’t in Patrick’s father, Martin Dunne’s study. The painting she glimpsed before it disappeared behind a secret panel looked suspiciously like one that had been stolen and is infamous, as anyone close to the painting has been murdered, Mafia style. As Karina wonders what to do an old flame and FBI agent Mike Finnegan comes back into her life and she’s tempted to tell her old friend everything, especially as she still has feelings for him. However, Karina is being watched and both her life and others are at risk if she continues to look into the stolen painting. I was fully immersed in this crime, mystery, thriller and literally could not put the book down. I loved the main character, Karina, as she is a likeable and realistically independently minded women and I look forward to future books with her as the lead. I liked the aspects of romance in the story with both boyfriend Patrick and old flame Mike and how Karina’s relationships changed and developed with each one. I found this to be an original storyline and was gripped until the last page. I found the authors ‘afterward’ section fascinating as Butler tells the reader about the real event that this novel is based on. A five star read and a book which I definitely recommend, I have now discovered a new author who’s books will become ‘must reads’!

Shooting Star is the first book in the Back Door Records series by Xana Jordan. It’s the first time I’ve read any work by this author but I’m a total sucker for a rock star romance and just had to give this one a try. I’m so glad that I did as I really enjoyed this book. It’s a little bit different from some rock star romances in that the main male character (Aiden) is the manager/agent for the band and not a band member. Although the female lead (Aria) is a member of the support band. Having spent several years dedicated to his career as a band manager/agent Aiden was totally unprepared for singer Aria to totally turn his world upside down when he had to find a new support act for his band when the previous act has to pull out. The chemistry between Aiden and Aria is totally sizzling. They are drawn to each other like a magnet to metal and both are totally thrown by the intensity of their attraction and growing feelings for one another. I absolutely loved both Aiden and Aria. Both are very well written characters and you can’t help but be totally rooting for these two to have a happily ever after. They are just perfect for each other. Aiden is just a total sweetheart. He’s not afraid to put his heart on his sleeve and tell Aria exactly what he wants. As well as these 2 main characters, this book has a large secondary cast with the members of both bands and I can’t wait to see what Xana Jordan has in store for the rest of these guys (and girl).

Falling for the Texan (Prentice Brothers of Sweet Ridge Book 2) by Nicole Flockton
I loved reading this heartwarming sweet romantic story. Let me start off by saying I loved the first book, Kelly and Tate’s story, but I loved this one even more! The attraction between Gia and Tyler is off the charts but everything that Gia has been through recently she doesn’t think acting on the attraction is a good idea. Gia just lost a big account for her firm because of a sleaze ball and her boss doesn’t have her back so now she is off to Texas to prove she still has what it takes. Tyler is putting all his hopes, dreams and money into his new wine venture. Both of these characters feel like they have a lot to prove, for different reasons. This is a must read to find out what happens between these two. This is a wonderful story of love, family, friends, and some interesting small town people. I highly recommend this book and I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.

When you have sworn off relationships and then you met the potential man of your dreams do you take a chance on love.
Erica has sworn off men since her last relationship but when she has an accident and is rushed to the doctors surgery she is unaware of the attraction to the new doctor until it’s too late.
Matt is new in the town and also being the eligible bachelor aspect he is fodder for the women of the town, but he’s not interested in them until Erica walks in to the surgery needing help. Although Matt feels the attraction in the first meeting it may take a bit to convince Erica that they are destined to be together.
I loved this story the two main characters were well written and developed, the chemistry between them was brilliant. I enjoyed the banter between the secondary characters and the main characters this opened up the story which was engaging and a page turner.
This is the first story I have read by this author and this will not be my last.

Better Than Goodbye is the first book in the Venture series, and my first read by Kinney Scott. It is a sweet and spicy second chance romance with plenty of angst, emotion, chemistry, drama, and sizzle. The story and characters are well really well developed, with plenty of depth, as well as being relatable and interesting. I enjoyed the authors warm, sexy, and inviting style- it was so easy to read and immerse myself in. It was somewhat predictable, but in a charming way- and the fact that it was a little predictable didn’t detract from my overall enjoyment of the story. Amanda left her hometown, and the love of her life, to follow her dreams to California, but her heart and soul are still back in Oregon. So, when the opportunity arises to spend a month back in her hometown again, she grabs hold with both hands, determined to find a way to resolve her greatest regret. One small problem, the person she hopes to reconnect with hates her……. things are about to get interesting. A great read. Looking forward to exploring more of Kinney Scott’s work.

House Valdis Origins: Xenobia By Naomi Valkyrie 5 out of 5 stars
I loved reading the book House Valdis Origins: Xenobia by Naomi Valkyrie. It is a story that had me hooked and I found myself reading it all in one sitting. I loved that I now know a bit more about the character Xenobia and what happened to her before the first book in the House Valdis series. I couldn’t help but empathize with Xenobia and her best friend Urd in the treatment that they had to endure. Will Xenobia and Urd be able to run and escape? Read this book to find out. The author makes the storyline and the characters come alive. The story is not a long one however I found myself thinking about it even after I had finished the last page. Don’t miss out on reading this unforgettable tale.
This is not my first book by this author but it is one of my favorites by her. It is a shorter paranormal story that took me on an adventure that kept me turning pages to the end. This is a well developed story that has characters that made the story easy to read. I had no issues connecting to them as they brought the story to life for me. This story takes place before The Rise of House Valids which is just as awesome as this book and I highly suggest reading it. Xenobia is a female who does her best not to bring attention to herself and she certainly does not get close to anyone. Then she meets Urd and she opens herself and they become best friends. They are both bought by a nasty man. They decide to run and find safety and maybe even the underground movement. What will happen to them? Will they learn the price of their rebellion? I loved these characters. They are strong and determined. They really just made the story for me. They pulled me into their story with ease and kept it engaging. I loved watching Xenobia grow throughout the story. I highly recommend reading this book and this author.
YES!! I was so excited to get my hands on this short but packed full of everything I didn’t even know I needed after reading the 1st of this series. I wasn’t even completely aware of all the questions I had after reading The Rise of House Valdis. What I really liked was that even though this comes before that part it worked perfectly reading it after.
This is a super short story but didn’t feel that way. I think I read it in about 15 – 20 minutes but the content made it feel like a full length novel. It was so easy to get lost in, I had to slow down my reading. It was intense and I could almost see it all happening, I loved that remembering back to the 1st book I always wondered when Xen’s inner dialogue would mention Urd, Now I understand.
Normally I would say I needed more, but in this case the time jumps were perfect and it gave me everything I needed with none of the unneeded fluff. I can not wait for book 2 of this series and I might even read this and the first again before that.
Awesome story, awesome series and this author is simply amazing!! She has taken a genre I don’t normally choose and has made me completely anxious for the next!
Shooting Star by Xana Jordan is book one of the Back Door Records series. This is the first book I have read from this author and it did not disappoint.
Aiden, as a music agent, needs to find an opening act for his band and what better way then to hold auditions, especially since they are running out of time. He didn’t expect to find Aria. Aria is everything he’s looking for and even a what he’s not looking for. Her voice is so mesmerizing. Neither of them were expecting the intense connection they have but will they be able to make something of it?
Nothing I can say will do this book justice but it was so great! I didn’t want to put it down! I highly recommend giving this book a chance.

The Trouble With Paradise by Cynthia Hamilton a fantastic five-star read. This is number four in the Madeline Dawkins series and they just go from strength to strength, Madeline and Mike make such a great team they pull you into the story, you watch it unfurl and reveal the twists and complexities of the story that will just keep you on tenterhooks until the very end. Two deaths of two husbands, should be separate and simple, shouldn’t they? Well you need to read the story to find out, as you will be dragged into the story and put the pieces together as you read. But will you get the whole picture by the end or be left wondering till the story reveals itself.

I’ll start by saying that this author crept up on me while reading her Southern Promises series, which if you haven’t read go one click right now. There’s something about her style, and the way she handles character dialogue and describes just enough of the scenes around the characters, and the characters that make me feel like I’ve literally crawled into the books she writes. I enter a comfort zone when I open one of her stories and then lose all track of real life and then sit in sadness when I finish. If I haven’t stressed it enough this author is absolutely one of my favorites ever. Completely Amazing!
This story was no different as far as how much I loved reading it, it was kind of awesome though hearing about familiar towns and highways as I lived up there, just a bit north of Cumming, but my brother and his family still reside in Cumming! That made it all feel even more real and familiar. There was one part where I wanted to shout a few shortcuts I know of, as I was saying Nooooo do not get on 400!! LOL
The added suspense and edge of my seat reading was a complete surprise to me, it had me all messed up and the emotions afterwards were so hard. I fell hard for Sam and Casey and loved their story, as well as Gwyneth. I wanted to hug her so tight, but another player in this book won my heart pretty quick as well and that was John! This story weaved so much love, loyalty, bonds between sisters, danger, suspense, and heart pounding moments, you really don’t want to miss out. I can’t recommend it high enough!
I will have all of this author’s books sitting on my bookshelf as when I reread them all I want them in my hands.

Better Than Goodbye by Kinney Scott a fabulous four-star read. This is Ventura book one and shows promise for number two. I was surprised by this one, and surprised I hadn’t read the author before, it was a very pleasant surprise, this one dragged you into the story and made you angry with the characters, angry with the stubbornness the main characters feel, but it wasn’t just that, Amanda and Kent were real and the romance and love they show is flawed and complex and full of real drama. I am a sucker for second chance romance, and this just brought something special, if it wasn’t for a couple of spots that were too overdone it would have been a five-star read.

I felt the connection with the main characters, and I loved the banter between them. The emotions in the book with leave you feeling a little raw at times. Deception by Victoria Saccenti is a sexy military romance story where revenge is the name of the game. The story is a little different from your norm and I liked that. Joe is a Dominant he has Hunter in his sights and with his sexy good looks he knows just how to reel them in. I enjoyed the story premise and Victoria’s writing style. There were a couple of the characters I could have done without but overall, I liked the MC’s. Truths are revealed but trusts are broken and may never heal. It is an emotionally charged story as past horrors are brought to the present.

How have I managed to not find this author before now? I’m not sure how it happened but I’m glad I have found her. And I have already grabbed the first book in her last series to get started on them just as soon as possible.
This was not your typical second chance story and I think that is one of the things I liked about it.
Kent and Amanda had a special relationship starting back when they were kids in high school. There was a pull that neither one of them could deny. Watching them struggle through the years was tough but most relationships have their ups and downs. I just wish they talked to each other as much as they talked to their friends.
I love the fiesty Babette and the shy Matilda and hope to see more of both of them in the future.
Very enjoyable story and looking forward to reading more from this author in the future.

Kinney Scott has a knack for writing a sweet romance novel that kept me glued to the kindle to find out how these characters would come to find their happily ever after. I wasn’t sure what to expect with Better Than Goodbye, the first in the Venture series from her, as I have only read one other novel by her before, but this one was probably my favorite so far and I will definitely be back for more in this series.
This was the story of Amanda and Kent. Amanda leaves and goes to California to follow and pursue her dreams, but she leaves behind pieces of her heart with Kent and the dream to be with him. Things get interesting when Kent and Amanda are brought back into each other’s lives. Will they be able to find the love and hold on to it this time? I was really engrossed in these two and their story from the very first page until the very last and I was never one moment disappointed or bored with how things were going to turn out. I look forward to seeing what we will get next from this series!

I was really excited to get my hands on this second book of the Prentice Brothers of Sweet Ridge series from Nicole Flockton, Falling for the Texan. I knew I wanted to read this the second I finished book one and I am happy to report that I loved it just as much if not more than I was expecting to. We got to go back to the sweet town of Sweet Ridge in Texas, and I was instantly transported to the vineyards and fell in love with the setting and the way the author paints the scenery.
I was excited to get into the relationship and the way Flockton built the slow building relationship between Ty and Gia. These two have some pretty obvious attractions but it isn’t an easy road, and the realistic way they do come together makes this story more believable and relatable, something I do value in romance novels. I can’t wait to get my hands on the next book and meet the characters in that one in ways we may not see coming!

Her Blackened Soul (Blackened Series Book 1) By Isra Sravenheart. This story was a bit outside my comfort zone but was enjoyable and I look forward to more in this series. This author is also new to me and I like the writing style. The characters are complex and pulled me in effortlessly and I found myself lost in the pages. When I first started I didn’t feel an immediate draw but I didn’t let that stop me and I’m glad to say it had my full attention quickly. It’s a very unique storyline that I for one haven’t seen before and I think that’s what I liked most about it. The storyline is paced nicely never feeling rushed. It’s a creative storyline that I’m excited to see more about. Four stars and recommended.

Finding Ruth: A Daughter’s Quest to Discover Her Mother’s Past by Cynthia Hamilton
This is the first book I’ve read by the author and I’ve got to say that I really enjoyed this. This won’t be the last book I’ll read by Hamilton.
This follows Cindy in her mom’s journey. She goes through her mother’s things to find who her mom was in the past. This hit close to home as a family member went down the same path Ruth did.
Ruth can no longer remember anything of who she once was. Finding herself over the years has stopped as she depends on her kids. Her past is no longer there and there are days she doesn’t know who she is. The quote I choose for Ruth is: “Do you see those trees right there? Would you believe, every day when I walked to school, I’d walk right by those trees…and here they are!”
I do highly recommend this for anyone who loves an emotional read.

This is a titillating romance. The story is sexy from beginning to end. Joe is a Dominant hell bent on revenge. He has Hunter in his sights and he never misses his mark. Hunter is broken and accepts the miserable life she leads, believing that she deserves it. She never thought that she could heal until she met Joe. He I trod yes her to the world of Don/Sub and she finds a peace that she never knew existed. Karma turns on Joe and he finds himself ensnared in her innocence. The truth will always come out, no matter what. Can these two find a way through the disaster? You need to read and find out.
The scenes between these two are incredibly hot! The story will keep you interested until the end. I loved the depth of the two main characters. This is my first book from this author and it definitely won’t be the last.

We all have those authors whose books we will purchase without even reading what the actual book is about because we love that author so much. Cynthia Hamilton is that author for me. I LOVE her writing style and the way she creates a story so in depth it’s like you’re an active member of the story or at the very least- watching it like a movie. This is my 4th Madeline Dawkins Mystery book, and I cannot wait for another one. She struck gold with this series. I love Maddie and Mike to no end! This book will give you multiple different scenarios for a couple of cases that have been dumped on the duo. Will Steven Ridley be a problem for them this go around? What other kinds of trouble can these two with their new crew at MDPI get into? Read to find those answers and so many more.

This is the first book I’ve read by Mrs. Mannersly, but it will not be the last. The book was written amazingly and it felt like I transferred into the book. Drawn to Him will draw you in.
Erica, owner of a paint store, finds herself in a bit of a predicament and a handful of people help her out. When she has an accident and meets a doctor her life changes. Will be for the better or for the worse? The quote I choose for Erica is: “You didn’t. Just kiss me.”
Matthew, a doctor, goes to a life paint class only to find the one even though he wasn’t looking. He’d met her the day before when she had an accident, but he knew she was it for him. Things get troubling, but it brings him closer to her. The quote I choose for Matt is: “I’m always going to be here for you. Whenever you need me. You can depend on me, Erica.”
This is a highly recommended book for anyone who loves a damn good romance. With a bit of drama thrown in.
