Extremely well written, second chance romance. It felt raw, real, and extremely relatable. I loved the character development and the depth the author brought to the story. This was easy to read, extremely enjoyable, and simply a wonderful addition to my day. Engaged from beginning to end, I will definitely recommend this book to others.

When I first read the synopsis of this book it didn’t really resonate with me. So, I passed it by on one or two occasions. One day when I just didn’t have anything else going on, I picked this book. And WOW I am glad I did. I have to say I am well and truly hooked into this series. In Beneath the Fallen City: The Omni Towers Series, Book 1 Jamie A. Waters has given us a world that is so well described you come away feeling like you are as familiar with that culture as you are your own. The two cultures in this book are meticulously described and so well fashioned. Kayla is tough, tough, tough and stubborn to boot. Right away you are sucked into wondering what could produce a young woman so hard-headed, and you just keep reading cause, you gotta know……right? Carl our hero of this story……or wait……maybe it’s Alec you just won’t know until you pick this one up and immerse yourself into the ruins and the Omnitower. There are some sexual situations that might be offensive to some, but this book gets a maximum rating from me and I really am looking forward to the next one.

This book is about Scarlett and Nick. Scarlett has a 6 month rule. It’s long enough to have some fun but, not long enough to have to meet each others coworkers and family. Nick is really into Scarlett and knows his 6 month expiration date is on the horizon. When Nick is required to attend a dinner date with the partners of his firm, he knows he has to show up. Nick is up for a promotion to become partner and is told to bring his girlfriend. He’s afraid to ask Scarlett because he knows she is just looking for an excuse to end their relationship. When he convinces Scarlett to go, everything goes great. Nick couldn’t have asked for a better outcome. Scarlett also ends up meeting Nick’s son. She tries hard to distance herself from Noah but finds it impossible. Especially when her two dogs Daffy and Dilly love him so much. Will Nick be able to convince Scarlett to throw her 6 month rule out the window and just be happy with him and their relationship? I thought this book was such a sweet read. I enjoyed reading this book and was glad it kept me interested from the beginning till the end.

Matt’s Swirly World: Children’s Book by Madeleine Matthews was a cute and quick read with my son. I would give this book a 5 out of 5 stars. It was well illustrated and it was a book I could see myself pulling out again and again. My son loved to look at the pictures and help me scroll and count. While at 1.5 years old he will not get the lesson, I hope over time he will learn to see new drops of wisdom.

Courage of Us (Code of Honor Book 1) by Brooke May was an addictive military romance novel. I was hooked from the start. I loved how much though and creativity went into the storyline and characters. Duke and Patience were amazing. From best friends to lovers. I absolutely loved it. They both had some huge struggles a long the way but were able to find their own happy ending. Patience had a lot of things happen in her life while Duke was absent. She stayed strong even though things were bleak. I highly recommend this novel and look forward to reading what is next in this series.

A great read about trouble. Karina Cardinal is trying to stay out of trouble after a row with her boyfriend. But life has other ideas when Sadira, a friend of her sisters, is accused of stealing a lot of diamonds from the jewellery sshe works at. Events unravel and Karina finds herself ina search for the truth. Can she uncover the truth? A great read. Well developed plot with twists and turns. Well developed characters like Karina cautious but still wanting to help or Jillian as loyal and determined. Great cast of supporting characters like the austere Bernard or the supportive Jessica. I loved the visual detail throughout the novel like with the fashion catwalk at the start with bright and colourful dresses with sights and sounds as vivid it’s as if you’re actually there. Or the big house later on with the fairy lights and trees and flowers and the wide stairs for a sense of elegance and luxury and beauty. Wonderfully written. I liked the use of suspense with Sadira and the diamonds with details revealed slowly to make you keep reading to find out the truth with Karina. Fast paced action and high stakes made for a captivating read. Overall, a great read and I would give it five stars.

Found in the Lost by Tarina Deaton is the first book in the Leonidas Corporation series. This is clearly the start of another great series by this author. First and foremost I loved the feel I got for this book. The instant I read the blurb I was picturing Indiana Jones style scenes of a race against time to find a lost city. E book had an excitement about it that v really draw me in. I loved the characters as well. They were engaging and easy to get behind. I got lost in their story straight away. This is another great book by an author I have come to really enjoy. I look forward to book 2!

5 Star Falling For His Badass by Jessika Klide is a fast paced story that once you start reading you won’t be able to put down. The characters are very well developed and easily relatable. There’s steamy scenes that will make the temperature rise. Lizzy tends to be shy and usually falls for the wrong guys but she agrees to go out with her friend Tara for the weekend. She meets Brody who isn’t her typical guy. Will she fall for him? What does their future look like? Find out what happens next in this must read. I look forward to reading more from this Author.

Seelie Kay is an author that I highly recommend if you like suspense stories. Hope is the fourth book in the Feisty Lawyers series. If you have not read the first three books, I would recommend you read them to get the most enjoyment out of Hope. One thing that Seelie Kay that I love is I am head over heels before the end of the first paragraph. She grabs me and I cannot stop reading until the end of the book. For that reason, I highly suggest you leave enough time so that you can read the book in one sitting. The characters are fully developed and the plot keeps you going because you want to know what is going to happen next. It is said that only those who have been broken and hit rock bottom knows the strength that it takes to pull themselves out. Hope is that person. She wanted to join “the Agency” which is the organization of her dreams. “The Agency” is an elite group of attorneys who will go undercover to “right wrongs” the law can’t. There is one problem with her becoming apart of “the Agency” someone wants her to lose hope. Will Hope lose hope or will Hope rise above all? Will her past come to get her? I highly recommend reading if you want the answers to this mystery.

I loved this story. This is a well written story with strong characters that make the story realistic. The emotional roller coaster they took me on kept me engaged and turning pages. This is a story about finding yourself and second chances. Patience has lost her way in life and is now determined to take back the control. Duke left her when he joined the Marines but now that he is back will they get a second chance? Love their chemistry. Their story is a must read, I highly recommend it.

Tarina Deaton is absolutely one of my favorite authors and I was so excited to grab this book. One negative…It wasn’t long enough. That’s not to say the book needed more, it felt like a complete story, I’m just greedy and wanted more. One of many positives…This is a book 1 which means there’s more to come!
I don’t normally like the instant love thing but the way this one was written it made sense and it still felt real. I’m not at all into archaeology and didn’t really understand all of that but it didn’t matter. The story itself was about an ex navy seal, Shane trying to figure out what is next and Kinley (love that name) an archaeologist who translated an ancient Mayan text, and those that want that information and will do just about anything to get it. This was a fast moving story with a lot of content that moved smoothly and made for an awesome read. I loved both of the main characters and there were others that were part of the Leonidas group that I enjoyed as well and hope that’s the route this series goes so we get to know more about them.
I highly recommend this story as well as anything this author writes, I fell in to her Combat Hearts series and after reading this I’m ready to go back and read those all over again.

This was such a sweet second chance friend romance. I enjoyed reading and couldn’t put it down. Ashley is back in town for her twin sister’s wedding to Ashley’s ex boyfriend. It’s been exhausting trying to convince everyone that she’s fine and just wishes them happiness. Jennings decides to take a chance and step in to help Ashley sell that she is over her ex. It’s risky for him though because of the feelings he has for her. Will Jennings chance be worth the risk?
I really enjoyed this book as I did other books in the series. The characters were fun to read about and it was such a sweet and sexy read!

This story is so good. I don’t usually read dystopian stories but thought I would give this one a try as I may get the chance to meet this author in a few months. I am so glad I did!
The setting of this story is after the apocalypse. People have been divided, obviously. Kayla is our main character. She is rough, tough and oh so sexy. She is completely awesome. She’s smart, funny and doesn’t take crap from anyone. She lives to find lost treasure. However, others want the lost treasures of the world as well. Carl being just one of them. Carl is also rough, tough and oh so sexy. He is a little higher on the social scale than Kayla but you wouldn’t know it. These two cause problems for each other as soon as they meet.
With some unexpected twists, these two end up fighting for love, humanity and basically world peace! The adventure Kayla takes is breath-taking and a little unbelievable. She learns things about herself she never even imagined.
I “hated” the way this story ended, mostly because I didn’t want it to end at all! So glad there is more! Highly recommend this story!

What a great read! Had me guessing until the end. We follow a few people in this book, but it wasn’t confusing even without headers to say who was talking as you could figure it out with the transitions in place. A murder has happened and no one know who exactly did it. Through the clues and evidence it points to a couple people but with more digging we find they were right under our nose the whole time. Kept me gripping my kindle to the very end.

While this book is to be geared towards children, my 6 year old lost the message the first read through, so when I read it again I changed some words to her level and it went better. Everyone deals with anger differently but it is a feeling all feel at one point or another so having steps to help in a way children can comprehend is great. Loved the illustrations.
Virtue & Vice (Spicetopia Book 2) by Phoebe Alexander Stars-4
I loved that we got to see Cy and Jolie again. I really liked Katja and Moon. Phoebe Alexander does a great job with her developing her characters to people that are easy to care about. Moon and Katja know what they want and are a wonderful couple to read about.There was a scene that I didn’t care for personally. However, I think that the book was well done, and was enjoyable to read.
Meet Johnny Delarosa, ex-cop turned PI in this gripping thriller, Toxic Blonde, by David Stever. It is the second book in the Johnny Delarosa Thriller Series, but can be read as a standalone- having said that though, the first book is a great read and a fantastic introduction this series. I thought it would be hard to top the first book, but this one is even better, and now my firm favourite of the two. This is a detective story with a great mystery, twists and turns, layers to reveal, thrilling developments, gripping tension- and plenty of suspense, drama, intrigue, and a superb cast of characters- with enough action to keep things moving along at a great pace. As with the first book, I was hooked from the start and devoured it in one sitting- as the story wouldn’t let me leave. I really needed to know how things would unfold and how it all played out in the end- and it was everything I had hoped for- and more. Then add a devious, cunning and brutal femme fatale, espionage, secrets, the Russian Mob, and the FBI- and feel the intensity level rise dramatically. The story starts with Johnny taking on what he thinks will be a routine investigation into a cheating spouse- but soon discovers that there is so much more to the situation than he could have ever anticipated. Things take a dangerous turn, and Johnny will need to keep his wits about him. I won’t go into anymore detail, as I don’t want to spoil it for you- suffice to say that if you love a thrilling mystery, with intriguing characters and a gripping storyline- then you really should grab yourself a copy of Toxic Blonde. Mike and Katie, who we’ve met previously- really round out the cast superbly. I love the dynamic between the characters. I also loved the addition of Eric to this story- I really hope he becomes a regular in the following books. The femme fatale was everything we were promised, and more. She’s quite a piece of work. Well thought out, and cleverly crafted! I can’t wait to dive into book #3!

This book was a great weekend read! From the very first page i was drawn in and i couldn’t get enough. The main characters are what made this book great! Jolie is a single mom who works extremely hard to take care of her family. One of her jobs is at a very sugary amusement park called Sweetopia. She dresses as the Red Velvet Queen and quickly catches the attention of Cy who works in the Cotton Candy Castle Bakery. Cy has been sent in undercover to work for his family’s company and is quickly distracted by the beautiful Red Velvet Queen. Will Jolie be upset when she finds out the lies Cy has told to go undercover at the company? Or will her own secrets come out in the open and be the reason they don’t work out? Over all i really liked this story. I thought the going undercover trope was a great one. I am looking forward to reading more by this author in the future and i would recommend this to anyone looking for a very sweet read!
Lee writes a great book with such a vivid plot that I could hear the soundtrack playing with each chapter. The character development was solid and I felt invested in the storyline quickly. At times I found myself searching for more information on a few of the supporting characters introduced and therefore hope we might see more of them in later books from the author. However this story is solid and one I found myself gladly reading to conclusion. I look forward to reading more from Lee.

Diamonds & Deception was a great 5 star read and book three in the Karina Cardinal Mystery series.
Karina finds herself pulled into something by her sister.Her sister’s friend is being accused of stealing diamonds. I almost think that danger is Karina’s middle name, with everything that seems to follow her.
Will Karina be able to help figure out who really took the jewels? Will she need extra help?
We get suspense, action, drama and so much more in this great read. There are several twists and turns and some great secondary characters. I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see what was coming next. There is so much more to this great read, I highly suggest 1-clicking and getting started. This can be read as a standalone but I suggest starting with book one, you can connect with secondary characters better.

Sugar & Spice is the first book in the Spicetopia series by Phoebe Alexander. I should have known what I was getting myself into by the title alone, but some of the scenes caught me off guard. I love romance books as much as the next girl, but found this one a little too graphic. I’m not saying its a bad book, because I really enjoyed the story itself and plan to continue the series. Just readers be warned, it is not… should we say PG. Very hot scenes unfold a couple times. Some love that, but not my thing. I enjoyed the characters, as they have depth. Jolie is a single mother, who dresses up cosplay for a theme park. However, she has her secrets, and isn’t as innocent as she appears. Cy on the other hand is a spoiled brat, being the youngest in his family, and will inherit millions. While he can get any girl he wants, and often has, he surprises himself by lusting after Jolie. But will their lust and physical connection morph into something more? Once they find out the whole truth about each other, will they bail? Read to find out!

Diamonds & Deception is the third book in Ellen Butler’s Karina Cardinal Mystery! You can read the story as a standalone but not having read the first two books you would miss out on knowing more about the recurring characters and backstories … Diamonds & Deception is a great story filled with drama, danger, action, suspense and sisterly ‘I’ve got your back no matter what’! This time the writer has taken inspiration from the increasing gang activity and human trafficking. Karina’s sister Jillian calls her as her friend Sadira needs legal help and neither of them knows the direction that simple thing takes the! The two sisters get drawn down the rabbit hall and of course the trouble comes calling (as it is the case with Karina) and of course her FBI boyfriend Mike is out of town … so, who should Karina reach out for help? Silverthorne Security gang of course! The writer takes us on one heck of a roller coaster ride and I have to say that I like her writing more and more with each of the story I read so I cannot wait for the next one in the series!

This is an awesome book. It is an amazing mystery story that pulls you in from the very beginning. I found myself taken on a journey that was nonstop until the final page. I love the character of Johnny Delarosa. If I needed help he would be the one that I would go to. How will his latest case end? Read this book to find out. This story made me feel like I was right there with the characters. I also really enjoyed the characters of Katie and Mike. This is a book that had me wondering what would happen next. The technology that was written about was really interesting. This is a story that I would highly recommend reading.

HIDDEN TRACKS is the second book I’ve read by this author. There is a lot to unpack in this book. There are well developed secondary characters at the beginning of the story which frustrated me because i felt like I was missing something. I actually stopped reading and searched the author’s backlog to see what books the other band members where written in – they weren’t. At about 27% in, we find out about the other characters during an interview with the two main protagonists. At that point I was over the who/what and where and moved on.
Seth is a musician; “I’m not some romanticized rock star, some tortured artist with a tragic backstory that left me with some awful hole in my heart that I need to fill with fame or sex or drugs…. But I am just a small-town boy who got called a prodigy and didn’t give a shit about that as long as it meant I got to do what I love and it made my parents proud.” Astrid is a journalist who is writing a story about a band when she meets Seth. From their meet cute to the more complex parts of their journey, the story had a strong arc and carried itself from beginning to end.
I always appreciate the work that a writer puts into their craft and in this book there is a story and then there are songs. At times, the writing is so visual I could actually hear the music while I was at the bar watching the band.
So while there were things that frustrated me, there were things that thrilled me so in the end it all evened out.

Toxic Blonde (A Johnny Delarosa Thriller Book 2) by David Stever was an excellent, exciting, and invigorating mystery/crime novel! I was hooked from the start and having read book one, I think I have a new favorite in the series. I loved the various characters and how each of them tied into the story. They were organized and developed well. I had no issues imagining them as I read. I also loved how much detail the author out into describing the settings. When one would change to another, he would provide ample detail where you could almost hear, feel, and see everything the character was. I loved it and felt it really helped make the story.
The story itself was wonderful. The chapter’s were organized and set appropriately. The story had an. Easy flow, twists, and magnificent plot. It is easy for readers to get lost in. If you have not read anything from this author, I recommend you check him out. This book was amazing and is part of an invigorating, gripping, and fun crime series. Highly recommended, 5-stars.

David Stever is back with Book #2 Toxic Blonde. This book will leave you wanting more. It’s full of action, adventure, suspense and mystery.
It will have you on the edge of your seat with the twists and turns throughout the book. David Stever creates characters that pop off the pages with this read, it makes you believe you are there alongside them following their story throughout. He creates a story that is captivating and riveting from start till finish.
This isn’t a genre of book I usually read but this book is everything it’s one that shouldn’t be missed and I’m so glad I picked this read up!

Virtue and Vice (Spicetopia #2) by Phoebe Alexander 4 Stars
Though this is book two in the Spicetopia series, it can be read as a stand-alone. This book revolves around Moon and Katja whereas the first part involves mainly Cy and Jolie. It would be a good idea to read the first book so that you can get a background on the story line but you can still follow the story if you don’t. All four embark on a new enterprise, an adult theme park. At this park, there will be something to satisfy everyone’s fantasies. Sounds exciting! The four are getting quite comfortable with each other but certain personal problems arise between them. Can they handle things maturely or will their hopes and dreams of building this park blow up in their faces?
A little warning, this book is explicitly sexual. It is definitely geared towards a mature audience. Some scenes are so hot, I’m surprised my book didn’t catch on fire! This is another winning book by Phoebe Alexander.

Diamonds & Deception is the third book in Ellen Butler’s gripping Karina Cardinal Mystery series. We’ve had art theft, we’ve had assassination, and now we’re onto jewellery theft. Karina seems to get tangled up in everything! Karina is a lobbyist whose past escapades have built her a network of talented, helpful people who are ready to leap into action when trouble comes. And trouble does always come. She’s resourceful, dedicated and doesn’t take no for an answer. There’s a brilliant scene where she can’t access her apartment as a man (who had the clever idea to get high on a weeknight) thinks there is a dragon in there. She’s tired, wants to go to bed, and so sets the imaginary dragon on him and walks through the door. In this book we get to see a lot of Karina’s sister, Jillian. It’s good to see the supportive relationship between the sisters, how readily they come to each other’s aid. It is Jillian’s friend, Sadira, who is accused of stealing diamonds. What at first seems to be a simple misunderstanding escalates as the sisters learn more about Sadira and come up with more and more questions. Diamonds & Deception is a real page-turner! It’s a great mystery, that keeps you on the edge of your seat. This is an exciting series with plenty of variety and brilliant characters – I would recommend starting at the beginning with Isabella’s Painting to enjoy the story as it unfolds. For me, this is definitely a five star book!

Toxic Blonde: A Johnny Delarosa Thriller by David Stever is the second book in the Delarosa series. you can read this as a standalone however it is the same character as the first book so you will miss a lot of the character development. I would recommend reading them in order. These books are brilliant they are exciting and fast paced, full of suspense and twists and turns. The whole way through the book I kept waiting for the next thing to happen because I just knew it was going to come. This author has such a captivating way of writing. Everything kicks off immediately without any long drawn out build up. You are drawn in instantly to the story. If this is your genre then I would definitely recommend this series.

Hidden Tracks by Zoe Lee is a romantic standalone read that will definitely draw you in from the beginning. Astrid and Seth are enjoyable and relatable characters with amazing chemistry – you can feel it between every one of their interactions. The whole way through the author creates an easy to read story. I can say I certainly enjoyed the overall story line however it was definitely the character development that held my interest. I loved experiencing the journey they went through. I have read only a little of this authors work but this book has cemented the fact that I will be reading more by her in the future.
